This. I thought a few of them had slightly better gameplay but the Symphonia is the only one that doesn't make me cringe. Which is weird because I think most of these games have the same character & world designers
worse vesperia
Vesperia is complete cringe from start to finish though
I’m playing it right now. Just finished the first half, it was kinda generic, going around the world reviving the power of the ORBS, I mean, breaking the SEALS. Your typical “go to one dungeon of each element” shite.
At the end of the first half there’s a but if a twist, which got me hyped, hopefully the second half is better.
So basically what be said
A great story and character interactions with good combat mechanics, all covered in absolute shit by the worst timewasting dungeon puzzles I've ever seen. Thank God for YouTube.
kek you're right it's a fricking slog especially in 1v2s. you can't cancel shit so you're getting hit and interrupted 100% unless you wanna waste ages trying to line up the enemies into attacking at once or some shit. the game's age clearly shows >but it gets good 10 hours in!!
don't care >but the story gets good 50 hours in!!
what the frick is wrong with jrpgs
>getting hit and interrupted >as lloyd
i mean i'd get it if its the beginning of vesperia where you're playing slow as frick yuri at the beginning against fast as frick enemies, but symphonia lloyd runs circles around all the early game enemies >you can't cancel shit
so you're just bad, got it
you did change your combat settings, right?
i was on manual. you can not cancel shit once you start attacking. unless that option is unlocked 20 hours into the game, of course, in which case go frick yourself
the worst (best) part of symphonia is im a complete kratos chad, but i prefer the zelos arc and storyline, even though as a character in general i like kratos more, i was much more impressed with zelos' growth i didnt choose zelos until something like my 3rd or 4th playthrough
I used to dislike this game for how anime it is, but in retrospect, it's fairly grounded outside of a few gags/tropes and not as super weeb as later entries.
is the story actually worth the trouble of playing the game for or did you guys just like it when you were kids
im almost 30 and it's putting me to sleep
It's a kino story. I've beaten the game 10 times so far. Still hits hard even after all these years.
They would NEVER be able to get away with that story in the year 2024.
a pretty cool adventure.
also, DEMON FANG!
the only good Tales game
thats not eternia though

a fairly standard tales adventure, which doesn't have drama for the sake of it.
One of the better titles in the series
worse vesperia
A long fricking game
Slog of a first half, pretty good second half.

Best Tales game
Still the best tales game and it's not even close, sadly.
an okay game with some really annoying characters
Classical waifus.
Pretty comfy journey with a decent story, great OST, and fun combat system. Tales of Abyss is still my all time favorite, but I enjoyed Symphonia
Tales of the Abyss was the only Tales game I beat multiple times and enjoyed each playthrough of
Comfy adventure but clunky battle system.
the only tales game worth playing

OP here.
Dropped the game after first dungeon.
That combat is fricking horrible.
Frick TALES OF games.

Actual skill issue, imagine being shit in Symphonia of all games
the combat in all of those games sucks not just symphonia

>he doesnt know about spell canceling!
Like with every JRPG ever it gets better as you go along and unlock more options
Real OP here.
Just finished the first dungeon.
This game is awesome.
I LOVE it!
REAL OP here.
Symphonia sucks.
Play Phantasia.
Mint best girl.
I heard Arche fricks like a tiger
A childhood friend not worth rescuing
THREE
SEPARATE
TIMES.
Almost everything bad that happens in the game is the main characters fault. He even admits to it halfway through.
Also, Dwarven vow #7
boredom, unfortunately
The best tales game
Also colette fricking sucks. Ignore her forever.
Colette is adorable, you take that back
A wild ride

a hard time if you don't have an option to play it in your native language, ivan
A bad battle system
The FF7 of the series, but like 9 Vesperia is actually better
DEMON FANG
DOUBLE DEMON FANG
i fricking LOVE zelos bros
Hot coffee, or was it cold?
A long, boring, generic anime RPG
The most misunderstood character in video game history
That's not Shion Uzuki. But yes, Colette is unduly hated.
