What in the frick are those starting positions?
>Ku'Gath in the Dragon Isles, which would've been perfect for the Blessed Dread
>Kairos in the fricking southlands instead of remaining in cathay
>Skarbrand near Tomb Kings which means he will absolutely wreck their crap skelly stacks
>N'Kari starting ON Ulthuan meaning you get your shit pushed in instantly
>Demon Prince only Chaos thing in the wastes so far
>Golden Order still only 2 provinces from main empire
wtf

Wonder where Wulfrik will start. Lorewise you could stick him anywhere. Norsca actually makes the least sense since he is supposed to be cursed to wander around and taunt champions around the globe with their native tongues.
Norsca makes sense for y'know Norsca, good staging point maybe near Kislev
How else would you have it? Let's hear it.
>N'Kari to the Shard Lands, give him a way to build a good powerbase while infiltrating Ulthuan via cults
>Ku'Gath to Bretonnia
>Kairos back to eastern Cathay to give them a serious threat
>Lokhir into the dragon isles, give him a powerbase there with the Eastern Colonies and take sealanes or the Great Canal to raid Cathay
>Skarbrand into Badlands to slug it out with Greenskins or Southern Waste to kill beastmen to prove to Khorne that he's worthy
>Gelt literally anywhere but Pfeildorf, maybe an expidition into the darklands
sounds like shit
still better than the default, playing TK with Skarbrand and Grim down there will be a fricking slog
Why? Got a better idea?
>while infiltrating Ulthuan via cults
Except N'kari doesn't do that, he outright invades because he wants to spill the blood of Aenarion. Beyond that you now have him having to deal with dark elves, norscans, and other daemons more than HElfs unless they sail up to fight you.
>Ku'gath
Ah yes, n'kari will get fricked by starting on Ulthuan but sticking Ku'gath, the far worse faction, in Mousillon, definitely won't frick him over hard with Louen breathing down his neck.
>Lokhir
Is starting on Cathay's east coast. If anyone's going to the dragon isles its going to stay Malus or be Nakai.
>Kairos
Needs more context before rendering judgement, someone far more interesting could start above cathay in the eastern steppe though he should at least start in the Southern Wastes rather than the southlands itself.
>Skarbrand
He's already in the badlands
>Gelt
What is with you people wanting to move gelt? Gelt is fine where he is. Yes, being 2 provinces away makes for an entirely unique experience has he now has immediate access to the Southern Realms and vampires then into the badlands and world's edge while Karl has to deal with all the bullshit now sailing around his western coast. Where would you even move him to and don't give stupid fricking meme answers like Estalia.
they probably didnt want to cram all 5 chaos lords in the north. N'kari and kugath seemed fricked though
N'kari especially. Prolly gonna start at war with one major HE faction + anti player bias
Also I wonder which faction will get the powercreep dev wankery this time, knowing CA it'll probably be the Skaven again
is the southern wastes a completely new area added in IE? I dont remember that at all in the previous games
ye, in Lore it's completely saturated with Beastmen
>Australia full of furry Black folk
Pottery
Australia would be the lost isles of elithis or whatever and that shit is clean.
You’ve never seen old maps that have Zealandia being connected to antartica? Those are the ones the old world is based off of.
Isn't Lumbria more like Warhammer Australia?
Is Lumbria even canon?
>Nippon never ever
Soon baka gaijin
>Lustria free of beast filth
acskhually it's full of beast-fiends, which are beasts mixed with daemons, while beastmen are beasts mixed with humans
game makes no distinction of course
>game makes no distinction of course
course not, took us three games to get proper kislev and we still don't have proper estalia/tilea and border princes
Why the frick would Lokhir start in the dragon isles when they've expressly fricking said he's starting on Cathay's east coast?
Would've given him a somewhat safe base good first expansion in the eastern colonies, fits his pirate/raider image and he would've had easy access to Cathay via the Sealanes and the River in the south
Just plopping him on the east cost of Cathay is kinda lazy imo
He should start in ind since that’s where he gets his sword
Except the dragon isles is so far away from that sea lane it would be easier to trek upwards through the land route to collect slaves along the way which makes him fight rats and greenskins and ogres more than his actual targets of Cathayans. The dragon isles only make sense if Ind gets added.
Ind would be dope. Expendable Poomanii with a focus on monstrous cav charges
Do you think they'll release an Ind Faction after they already pussied out of Araby as a faction?
Ind wasn’t nearly as offensive as calling Allah a literal chaos demon. The only thing they said of Ind was a butthurt westoid getting dysentery and blaming the food.
>Araby
Still sad about that
>you will never be a rich sandBlack person lord buying turbo titted vampire sex slaves off your neighborhood market
Why even live?
I know right? Shit doesn't make sense
these positions are incredibly based and you're a total homosexual
>Volkmar starting Sudenburg in Araby
>tfw steam tanks in the desert
What faction would you like somewhere down the line?
pic related
Just play dirt elves.
All of them even moronic shit like the gnomes
Dogs of fricking War
They should've been in WH1, its long over due.
Isn't this just a bunch of factions meshed together into one mercenary band sort of deal? Seems pretty cheap when you compare it to the idea of just introducing a whole different faction that actually is its own faction and not just stuff from others.
Dogs of War is a single army on the tabletop, they were meant to represent a bunch of different factions but functionally it was like 95% Tilean, the army book talks exclusively about Tilea and then kind of mentions " oh and some mercenaries from other part of the world come to tilea too".
So dogs of war is the armed forces of the southern realms, which are loosely unified merchant princes so they just hire who ever is in the market.
GW is probably better off developing Estalia into its own thing since they’re closer to a unified force. But Tilea being renaissance Italy is well represented by mercenary armies.
The border Princes isn’t a real nation and was made for RPing an up and coming power in the world, so they should be closer to the rogue armies in game since anyone can be a border prince.
How would they play?
They have an interesting mechanic with the Paychest/Paymaster.
Actually this rule in particular is more interesting, capturing the paychest can destroy a dogs of War army in one swoop.
Estalia is comprised of a bunch of warring petty Kingdoms, its exactly as unified as Tilea and just as reliant on mercenaries.
I thought Estalia had some kind of not! Isabella in charge of it. My mistake.
We only know of a handful of the Kingdoms in Estalia, like Magritta or Larghoz, its not very well explored, they are all under a similar kind of loose confederation as both Tilea and the Border Princes, in which they all (in theory) will band together against foreign threats but more often than not just fight each other.
I suppose that’s fair if a little unimaginative.
But Spain really only has the whole ultra-Catholic thing for flanderization purposes, It would confuse the secondaries to find out the Empire isn’t the ultra religous army like in 40k.
>Southern realms provinces got beefed up in IE
they're def after chorfs at this point
Halflings
What're they gonna do with that blank space?
Cover it in fog
Absolute shit
Perfect opportunity for them to implement a cylindrical map wasted
corporate shit company
F for Settra, jesus christ.
>The Sea of Dread
there are YA fantasy books with better etymology than this
You’re talking about a setting where the central faction is named the empire
I just hope they detangle the fricking Lustriabowl a bit
>The Skull Road
>The Road of Skulls
