it takes 400 eons to do anything but all the enemies even huge ones are fast hitting you from Kilometers away while your weapon's hitbox is the size of an ant's little toe
Nope DS3 is way faster and snappier so is Elden Ring not even DS1 had this issue your attacks were slow and deliberate but so were the enemies in DS2 you'll have this giant hulking stone statue swinging a great sword like its nothing and yet you have a little longsword and it takes an age just to fricking swing the thing all while 5 enemies are charging you at once and your attacks are going THROUGH the enemies nah ds2 just sucks
Nope used Grand Lance and I couldnt even begin to tell you how much times the side of my lance physically connects to enemies but it doesnt hit them oh but they hit the ground 400 ft away and i take half health frick off
>das2 haters are exclusively late comers to the series
i really dont understand why you homosexuals cope with saying this all the time. if you were there when ds2 released, coming from ds1, the pushback and hate against ds2 was palpable back in 2014. it was the same for me. stop spreading this actual lie that its ds3 babbies that are ds2 haters. i played ds1 first, then DeS, and then ds2 and thought it was fricking shit and a soulless piece of shit.
Shit sound design, shit combat animations, shit enemy design, nonsensical world design, shitty healing options because you can become almost unkillable with them, shitty music, shitty DLCs, shitty story (no, aldia's dialogue does not save it), shitty philosophy behind enemy placement and boss design, shitty hit boxes that require an investment into one or more stats in order to have a functioning dodge roll, shitty infinite stamina enemies, some of which literally never stop attacking, shitty npc black phantoms that play by their own rules (read: cheating) despite being effectively AI-controlled player avatars, shitty covenant system, shitty permanently despawning enemies unless you use the only covenant that matters, a shitty knee-high pile of rubble forcing you to kill four major bosses, etc etc
Just a generally shitty game.
A lot of it was quantity over quality especially when it came to bosses with few exceptions. So many areas were forgettable. Brume Tower was the best DLC
The level design in particular was a huge drop in quality, lots of bullshit like the gutter that are boring linear treks filled to the brim with fodder just to waste your time.
Filtered soulsbabies, simple as.
EVERY single game that has any semblance of difficulty is hated by soulsgays. If they cant pump END and faceroll the game, play pyro and faceroll the game, circle strafe to beat every enemy in the game, or in the case of 3gays roll spam and R1 mash to win, they will never let you hear the end of it.
/thread
Literally nothing. Every person that hates on the game got all of their opinions from homosexuals like Mauler or other essay queers. To this day I haven't seen a single shred of legitimate criticism regarding DS2 that couldn't be applied to other entries in the series.
It's a fine game that gets better with every replay, unlike other Souls games I always feel decision paralysis when making a new chara due to all the build options
btw Pate did nothing wrong
>If I install a mod, remove the fog, remove the darkness, turn up the brightness, and position the camera in a very specific way the game looks like shit
Wow, I never thought about it like that.
>bosses are insultingly braindead or poorly designed >pointless fan service that rivals DS3 >levels are nonsensical from a design standpoint >MMO-tier enemies constantly remind you you're playing a mockery of the first game >soul memory is blatantly moronic, kills pvp, and invalidates most hexes >the dlc "multiplayer" areas that don't function in sotfs as they did in the original
It had some sick ideas like ascetics, power stancing, branches of yore, but overall it's the worst game to me.
>bosses are insultingly braindead or poorly designed
Not even DaS2s mini bosses are as braindead and poorly designed as Ceaseless Discharge, Pinwheel, Moonlight Butterfly, or Bed of Chaos. >pointless fan service
moronic nitpick >levels are (buzzword)
you're on a roll with these critiques >(Buzzword)-tier enemies
You cant be serious >soul memory is blatantly moronic, kills pvp, and invalidates most hexes
1. It's trying to solve the twinking issue from DaS1, an issue you ignore.
2.Nothing about it kills pvp as much as DaS1 being a poorly balanced game with shit netcode, or DaS3s password summons and glitches like instant estus
3. Only a small handful of hexes use it, and most of them are incredibly situational. >the dlc "multiplayer" areas that don't function in sotfs as they did in the original
what a perfectly moronic nitpick to end off on. moron.
>Ceaseless
Only bad if you're a wiki reading tard >Pinwheel
Pretty good boss if you go into the catacombs early >Moonlight Butterfly
Mogs almost every dumbfrick ds2 boss lmao >Bed of Chaos
Obviously the worst boss in the franchise, at least they tried something that isn't "armored man with sword" #37 that plays the same as all the others >all criticisms are nitpicks or buzzwords because I didn't substantiate them in depth
ds2 is a case of death by a thousand cuts, in that all the shitty little details build up and overwhelm you with disappointment.
Good game. Has the best levels and exploration in my opinion, especially the DLC. Bosses don't hit the same lows as Dark Souls 1's shittier bosses, but they don't hit the same highs as the other souls games. Overall a 7.5/8.0 out of 10 IMO, just below Dark Souls 3, on the same tier as Dark Souls 1 and above Demon's Souls. Still shits on Lords of the Fallen. Lies of P is alright though
>People expected DS1, but finished >Instead the whole game was post-lordvessel tier
It's still a decent game, it's just not as good at the other Souls games. Contrarians blindly praised it which made other contrarians blindly shit on it, which made the people who liked it even more vehement, which loops back to making people shit on it. Then it got to the point where it's impossible to discuss any DS game because every thread just ends in shitflinging the moment DS2 or DS3 gets brought up.
Went back and played all the souls games for the first time after beating Elder Ring. DS2 was definitely my favorite, so not sure why people hate on it. Maybe they just think it cool I guess.
>not sure why people hate on it.
It wasn't DS1, it was downgraded during development and it had some issues at launch. I still remember those days, people had made up their mind before it even released. Typical OH NO NO NO NO while posting pre-release trailers, obsessing over nonsensical shit. You know the routine.
Personally I was expecting the worst but I tried it out and after I got over the initial jankiness I found the game very charming. And the game just got better with each DLC.
Frick SotFS though its dogshit.
It's been amusing watching board sentiment do a 180 on it. Bless the trolls and shitposters on both sides for making and maintaining these threads. It is now the most discussed Souls game and its not even close.
Inferior enemy placement and I didn't find anything regarding Aldia to be interesting. Various other stupid miscellaneous shit like red lion cape availability. The main reason SotFS gets praised is because morons think the DLC sections were part of it lmao. Even if you like the changes, they're all nothingburgers at best. Also if you think the changes to Iron Keep isn't a huge embarrassment you're completely braindead.
you cross an invisible threshold at the start of the level and every weeb knight is instantly aggrod onto you, its poorly made romhack tier*
Now mind you its perfectly manageable since its easier to chop those homosexuals down there than further in but it looks and plays like shit and is one of the things (janky ganks) that DS2haters frequently ding the game for and while I'm dismissive of a lot of crappy parts in the souls game, that section is egregiously bad and early enough in the game that it taints peoples' experience.
*there's also some moronic npc invasion at the same time iirc

I don't see the issue. They don't even all aggro at the same time, they're clearly timed to come at you in waves, not all at once. It's just testing you to take out the group in front of you before the next or you'll get overwhelmed.

>They don't even all aggro at the same time
They do, its just that some take a while to run all the way to you because they were stationed deeper in. It's almost like that part was just bugged.
If you think its great than more power to you but that doesn't affect my opinion of it whatsoever or of SotFS being overall a downgrade.
Soul Memory. I cannot forgive DS2 just because of that. They didn't even fix it for SotFS. If it had BB level brackets, it would be perfect, both online and offline.
Having to use branches to remove NPCs or enemies out of the way, the whole giants thing, the hub area being cast in eternal sunset makes it too happy compared to the other hub areas, there's more but DS2 is both the one I played the least (1 complete playthrough) and I only played it when it came out, compared to me playing every other souls game all the way through at least 1 more time since then.
I like DS3 the best, but only because I know all the little tricks.
DkS2 is the worst in the series... but Majula is amazing. Happy? Majula is the very definition of melancholy. The sunset is the impending darkness. The last flicker of light before the night. And that fricking theme.
Majula is cozy, cheerful and pleasant, it fills up with all your buddies over time and unlike Firelink none of them fricking wander off and die. At the worst they get a little more senile but we're all senile in this game.
>that image
kek wish we knew which chucklefrick dev thought of putting such a dangerous thing right at the beginning, so many weapons struggle to hit those little frickers
Nothing, it's the best one.
2nd best. first still carries everything because it built the world and lore.
2 has nothing to do with 1's lore and it's better because of it
King
the duality of man
Everything, it's the worst one.
it's a forgettable shitty game
worst thing about it is the mentally ill fanboys
Something, it's most likely one.
idk but Ganker told me to hate it because everyone else likes it so that's what I'm gonna do
No body physics and the combat feels the most static out of the rest of the games. Other than that, it's about the same.
it takes 400 eons to do anything but all the enemies even huge ones are fast hitting you from Kilometers away while your weapon's hitbox is the size of an ant's little toe
That's every souls game post DkS1.

the classic
"f-filtered"
I beat the game how'd I get filtered? I beat the game lmao thats all you can say
character controls like a morbidly obese who just shat his britches
>he doesn't know about the poop walk glitch in Dark Souls 1.
Because he never played DS1. His first was 3 and never looked back.
If you had played it after playing 1, you would understand.
but that's why I liked it. das2 haters are exclusively late comers to the series

WOULD. I wish these characters actually did something or meant anything.
It's the "The Last Jedi" of the Souls series, including the people who like it being incredibly defensive and insecure about liking it
Soul Memory. I cannot forgive DS2 just because of that. They didn't even fix it for SotFS. If it had BB level brackets, it would be perfect, both online and offline.
the online is mostly dead, that's all

Yeah running from piglets certainly wasn't my most glorious moment in Souls games
Little frickers hold a grudge
DkS2 is a fun videogame, but it's not a good Dark Souls game.
The movement is dumb. The bosses are dumb. The locations are dumb. Etc etc
It's so fricking bad it's almost charming. I like DS2 as I'd like a disabled child
Creepy post
Likewise. I've always beaten DS2.
