Doom 2, Heroes of might and Magic 3, Mount and Blade and Baldurs Gate are actually the best games I've ever played, followed closely by System Shock 2, Witcher 3 and both Half-Lifes (doesnt it make it whole life? LOL)

It was shit in terms of gameplay. You played it like a super constrainted RPG due to the lack of skill points and locking out of augs/aug upgrardes. You needed a guide to do more than say, 40% of the game. Yes, you could follow the story but you'd miss out on a lot of shit due to how badly it was programed. Like how Sandra's quest is literally just shot jojo once and run away out the exit
Or how Paul is only alive if you go out the front door so you were supposed to hide in the fricking closet while he killed everyone since his invincibility tag was set to 1 instead of 0

Just play vanilla once or twice
its a fine game with lots of options and a very intriguing story
but theres no way that thing is better than Dark Souls, Shadow of the Colossus or MGS2
