What is the absolute best way to play San Andreas?

I haven't played it in over a decade, tried the definitive edition and it's godawful. Currently running it on PCSX2 to see what the "PS2 filter" hype is all about.

how did you miss everyone shitting on the definitive edition, they're just the shitty mobile ports ported back to other platforms, get one of the original versions instead of one of the shitty newer ports

      >theres a work around to play at 120 fps
Which breaks the physics and makes it unbeatable.

That's only if you uncap the fps and do nothing else, then you get shaking cars and die from the slightest tap. The Definitive mod boosts the frame rate and adjusts the back-end to match. You can still feel a difference, but it's not game breaking.

Silentpatch adds a proper 30fps mode (it's 25fps normally on PC). Anything higher is still broken.

Best way is to get it on steam if it's still there and using the downgrader to access cleo mods. Have all the songs. Widescreen support and less shitty controls. Vadim M I recommend you search on YouTube since that channel has some tutorials. You can't downgrade a torrent of it.

Replaying this and GTA LCS/VCS made me realize why exactly Rockstar dumped the gimmick missions.

      >LCS/VCS
How are they? I've seen bits and pieces before and they definitely look a tier below the main 3 of that era.

I played the Xbox 360 HD edition from like 2014 or whatever and thought it was p good. Not the oldest or newest, good middle.

Your standards are very low, that's a port from the mobile version, wich is a butchered port by itself
The original Xbox version is miles better than the 360 version

PCSX2. Reminder that GTA Mods are supposed to be for shit and giggles, not to painstakingly do a company's job for them.

    >like 2nd mission, nothing major, literally a tutorial mission
    >2 star wanted level, trying to ditch cops for like 5 minutes
    >they finally pit my stolen cop car and it catches fire
    >good thing I got out and picked up that vest in the alley like 15 seconds earlier
    >steal another car while being chased down by cops
