I love moemon but the homosexuals that are running the project now make such bad sprite designs
the oldheads who did the original work were so much better.
don't feel like copypasting so here

Any romhack that forces you into engaging with EV/IV Black persontry is dogshit I'm sorry to say. There is OBJECTIVELY nothing fun about this moronic gimmick of a gameplay design choice.

I've played clover and a few other of the "big" fakemon hacks. Is there any good recommendations?
noon and alteRED (fair warning, some of the sprites are total ass)
Is there a romhack where there is ZERO story? I wanted to try Unbound but there was fanfic story. I just want to grab a starter and frick off. That's what I dislike most about Pokemon games. Too much talking.
The "best" one is Unbound and it's not even fricking close, but that's only if you're talking features and amount of stuff to do. Clover also has unbelievable amounts of soul and is on the same level but for different reasons, it's the one romhack you shouldn't play sped up or on mute.
Polished crystal felt really good to play through.
Most of the main game stuff is the same, bar QoL changes and additions, and it adds a whole bunch of new zones and things to do. Content goes from the 40s/50s of the main games and goes up to the 80s, with a few battles up to 100. Lots of fun challenge battles scattered throughout the world.
The one you make yourself. You can tune in the game to give Gym Leaders better lineups with competent movesets. You can change the requirements of evolution for trading or other such methods that require online/trading components. You can make sure to populate routes with a diverse ecosystem of Pokemon of the region. I spent months tweaking a rom of HeartGold to optimize the routes, trainers, gyms, evolutions, and move lists. Then when I finally played the game it was the most engaged I got with the game.
Any romhack that forces you into engaging with EV/IV Black persontry is dogshit I'm sorry to say. There is OBJECTIVELY nothing fun about this moronic gimmick of a gameplay design choice.
Based. It's so funny how the difficulty falls apart once you engage with that. I played renegade platinum and once I EV trained I did really well. I didn't lose a battle after that one in the route terminal area.
Unbound bar none. It's really not a contest at all either. Most of the newer ones just use Unbound as its' base since it radically transformed what fire red could do.
Radical Red, Unbound, and Emerald Rogue are the only ones I've played multiple times. I really love gen 2's look and feel but can't stand grinding anymore

when are they finally fixing the battle channel in clover? I wanna do double battles soooo bad...
maybe I should find an older version from before it was locked and see if its compatible with my 1.3 save
I've always enjoyed Drayano's hacks. They're not too focused on difficulty, and there's a pretty good variety of mons you can try out in each playthrough. Renegade Platinum, Rising Ruby & Sinking Sapphire, and Blaze Black 2 & Volt White 2 are some of the best Pokémon games I've ever played.
Thought of a couple more that I want to add onto , not made by Drayano but they retain most of the same design philosophy: Eternal X & Wilting Y, Rising Sun & Waning Moon, Setting (Ultra) Sun & Waxing (Ultra) Moon
are there any mystery dungeon romhacks that are particularly good and worth playing? I haven't tried any yet but I would be tempted if there's a good one
Unbound and Clover are the pinnacle if you can tolerate earnestly edgy writing and ironically edgy writing respectively. I mean that with full respect to Clover though, the only Pokemon game I ever played where I made it a point to talk to as many npcs as I could.
Altered emerald is one of my favourites which never really gets talked about.
It's similar to a Drayano hack, but doesn't focus on difficulty, instead it focuses on making every single pokemon actually unique in some way, balance be damned.
I tried clover not expecting it to be so hard, I got filtered by Kanye.
I enjoyed it though, I had never played a hack before and playing an actually difficult Pokémon was interesting.
Any others I should check out that might be a little less autistic?
Pokemon Gold/Silver 97 Reforged nails the comfiness of classic Pokemon, since it works to finish the old 97 demo release.
I also like Quetzal as a Hoenn hack for having all mons up to PLA, seamless multiplayer support and following Pokemon for the entire party. Big fan of that homies in a row mood JRPGs have.
It hit the perfect balance between nostalgia and novelty for me. Brought backs memories of playing Gold as a kid but also the feeling of discovery because of the different map and beta gen 2 Pokemon.
>mfw playing clover and realizing it's a time capsule to pre-2016 Ganker >don't even realize i've been tripping back through my early 20s >my excited ass tries to talk about it on /vp/ >get a depressing reality check as board barely cares about it and has schizos crashing discussion
Painful.
i tried clover and thought it was fricking dogshit that tries way, way, WAY too fricking hard to be funny and relies entirely on "hey remember this?" for everything.
its ok anon, I totally got the same feeling playing clover. I used to lurk back in the day, and clover took me back to all those old memes I used to enjoy. It's aged pretty badly now, but the game underneath is still fantastic.
If only Ganker could produce anything close to that quality these days.
some ifunny gays are making their own equivalent of it, it's even more racist and has a lot of things to do considering it's a wip, worth checking out also has the most frickable femc in pokemon history
this anon understands
It's basically just the games themselves, but tweaked just enough to make it fresh and fun to roll through em again
plus I like the novelty of being able to visit other regions and seeing other players
Pokemon Clover, I just swept the Fire type gym with this moron here, that poor bastard didn't have any physical moves, it was fun to see the AI shit itself because it can't do anything to win.
>Try Clover >All the desings are ironic and "bad on purpose"
I don't mind the story and old memes but when one of the best looking monsters designs is some white blob with a tree up its ass... yeah... no
Well of course. At least from my memory, Clover was just a shitpost project fueled from Sage functionally dying. They'd just take any designs submitted and I'm not sure how many people expected it to be finished let alone end up as a good game, so you just get things like the ebola nurse joy or whatever.
But I don't mind it, it has the spirit of the /vp/s4s/ that existed in the background at the time with things like showderp.
moemon
I love moemon but the homosexuals that are running the project now make such bad sprite designs

I need something more frickable
look up girls hunter
>no shotas
Laaaaaame
clover
I'll tell you what's not the best. Difficulty hack garbage. Romhacks with OC regions are the only worthwhile ones.
vega (w/ viva las vega patch)

what is the viva las vega patch? I love vega but I don't think I've ever heard of this

isn't clover nothing but crass sex jokes and other /misc/ humour?
There's a high quality game buried underneath all of that.
>rom hack
It's called a sharkcode you fricking zoomer
Unbound, Clover, Prism, Glazed
>want to try a hack
>it's either filled with fakemon or one of those difficulty hacks
is there any good hack?
Unbound is the peak
Orange is a really good comfy hack where you go through the orange islands from the anime. It has soulful crystal sprites of some newer pokemon
Gaia is only disliked for not being difficult so you may enjoy it
Polished crystal felt really good to play through.

Perfect Crystal 2020 update

Radical red!
Any romhack that forces you into engaging with EV/IV Black persontry is dogshit I'm sorry to say. There is OBJECTIVELY nothing fun about this moronic gimmick of a gameplay design choice.
I've seen a few that let you disable them entirely. Good for the people who have autism for it, good for the people who don't wanna bother with it.
Based. It's so funny how the difficulty falls apart once you engage with that. I played renegade platinum and once I EV trained I did really well. I didn't lose a battle after that one in the route terminal area.
any that turns pokemon in cute girls

Clover, easily. Genuinely, it's the best balanced pokemon game I've ever played.

This, and the soundtrack is awesome

Emerald Rogue maybe?
Emerald Rogue if you don't mind swapping story for a roguelite.

Pokemon Clover, nothing else even comes close. It's not even about the memes, it's legitimately the highest quality Pokemon game in existence
are there any mystery dungeon romhacks that are particularly good and worth playing? I haven't tried any yet but I would be tempted if there's a good one
Unbound and Clover are the pinnacle if you can tolerate earnestly edgy writing and ironically edgy writing respectively. I mean that with full respect to Clover though, the only Pokemon game I ever played where I made it a point to talk to as many npcs as I could.
Unbound, Polished Cristal, Radical Red and clover. Maybe some Drayano mods like Renegade Platinium and the future Aurora Crystal.
Throw in Emerald Rogue too even thpugh it was made by a troony.
Unbound has a shit story
>radical reddit
Altered emerald is one of my favourites which never really gets talked about.

try Uranium
Not a romhack.
assentials games run really shitty on my pc, I tried insurgence a bit ago and it ran at like 15 fps, it's not optimized
I tried clover not expecting it to be so hard, I got filtered by Kanye.
I enjoyed it though, I had never played a hack before and playing an actually difficult Pokémon was interesting.
Any others I should check out that might be a little less autistic?
elite redux
it makes every single pokemon broken, enemies included
has difficulty options if you don't like grinding your face on sandpaper
Clover or Unbound, maybe Gaia but it still incomplete even after all this time.
Pokemon Gold/Silver 97 Reforged nails the comfiness of classic Pokemon, since it works to finish the old 97 demo release.

>Quetzal
(allegedly) at some point they banned english speakers from their discord and /vp/ got really fricking mad about it
It hit the perfect balance between nostalgia and novelty for me. Brought backs memories of playing Gold as a kid but also the feeling of discovery because of the different map and beta gen 2 Pokemon.

Why would I want a Ganker meme hack to take itself seriously? The references are half the point.
i think the more important question is why would you want to play a shitty Ganker meme hack in the first place?
Prove you're not engaging me in bad faith and I'll give you an honest answer.
It gave me a weird sense of nostalgia seeing all the dead memes
its ok anon, I totally got the same feeling playing clover. I used to lurk back in the day, and clover took me back to all those old memes I used to enjoy. It's aged pretty badly now, but the game underneath is still fantastic.

frickable? I'm in.
i chose the male mc just so i could see her dialogue and portrait as often as possible, love her autistic dumb ass so much
easily the best city out of any romhack, especially the part where the Black folk stole the entire building
i get you, everything feels like a flash game, though i can cut them some slack since rpgmaker xp is dogshit
Oh shit she's hot I hope it get's done so porn get's made of her.
They just added Eminem City
What's a ROM hack that adds in all Pokemon past B&W2 in sprite form?
Most recent ones do
all of them, to the point you'll be hard pressed to find any post-unbound hack that doesn't
Radical Red.
Jessicka Carr and Sarah Logan need to bea tag team
they're like twins
anyone tried pokemon pathways yet
looks cool
Pokemmo
this anon understands

I just play Infinite Fusion.
i fricking hate the way that fangames feel compared to games in-engine, or I would be so about infinite fusion
emerald enhanced
The one with naked Misty
Psychic Adventure?
No idea I just made that up hoping someone would say it in case there was one so I could check it out. Thank you anon, appreciate it!
Unbound is peak kino
Followed by clover
Pokemon Clover, I just swept the Fire type gym with this moron here, that poor bastard didn't have any physical moves, it was fun to see the AI shit itself because it can't do anything to win.
Oh so that's the thing I keep seeing in the ads
There are clover ads? I can't see them because of ublock.
why are there no good gen4 romhacks bros
Drayano hacks and gen 3 is just easier to work with
Snakewood
If your hackrom don't have physical/special split, then is shit.
I am trying red++
If your romhack has the physical/special split then it's pure garbage and I will not play it.
If your romhack doesn't have the physical/special split then it's pure garbage and I will not play it.
Your hackrom is shit and I will split it
There is a dedicated pokemon board, you animalfricker children
>landopex
i laughed
i shouldn't have
but i did
Love it
the one you make on your own
Clover
>closed source
Sorry, Clover is shit by default. Just like Crystal Clear.
It's called SHOCKSLAYER PRESENTS.
Unbound and clover are peak
Play Fools Gold
did they add a move relearner?
are they STILL being moronic about HMs?
>Try Clover
