If it wasn't for the blue LED, you wouldn't be using a full color computer screen right now.

computer screen existed before LEDs bro

Color CRTs predate blue LEDs by like twenty years.

Noone is saying the color blue didn't exist before LEDs.

You're implying the color computer monitor (and by extension, the color display of any kind) didn't exist before the blue LED.

Literally noone has said anything that would imply that.

They didn't exist with LEDs, correct. They used fluorescent tubes.

Color TVs existed in the 1940s. Blue LEDs didn't exist until 1993. So it's more like 50 years.

He is a turbo israelite with major funding behinds the scenes. He is constantly wrong about topics and has to make corrections after real scientists call him out.
Reminder he got a PhD in EDUCATION of physics, with his PhD project essentially being his YT channel.
Bill Nye, for another time period.
But I will give him that he at least actually has a science related degree rather than an engineering one.

Your /misc/troon paranoia aside, what was he wrong about? The wire flow thing? I don't think it was proven to be wrong or anything, people just misunderstood some terminology.

And, yeah, sure, he's not a scientist, but I think popularizing science is still important (especially considering that video about the scale of the universe). If you want real science videos - we still have PBS Space Time.

Its been a long time. He has deleted all of the older videos. But he was known as a joke in the earlier days. Talking ~10 years ago.
Of course his modern videos which are written for him have less errors.

Well, I read an article about this invention long ago, long story short: nobody believed it was possible but an autistic jap from a small company tried and tried until he made it and just ignored what his company said to him

you forgot the part where the companies profits grew like 10 fold and his wages only went up to 20k, he defected to America and got sued by the company because he leaked company secrets. He tried suing them for being underpaid and only won enough to cover legal bills

What was hard about that is the only LEDs that were made at that point were red and green.
White LEDs came FROM blue LEDs

      Anonymous

Because white light LEDs were only made possible by combining the three primary color LEDs first. And that required the blue one.

It would just block the light. Blue light is higher energy than green or red light. You can't just add energy using a filter.
