the advertisers washing over anything/anyone remotely wild.
esports cant succeed as long as they tailor to absolute safe behavior
esports needs to accept more dubious means of income .
studio's being publicly listed on the stock market. making games is a passion project not something that should be subject to investor inquiry
Starting off with way too large of a scope when the team can accomplish only so much and then straight lying to the consumer.
Fix your core gameplay before making sure i can "pet the dog" Instead of starting off with something reasonable and adding to it (expansions etc) .
having to large of a scope is resulting in all unfinished titles.
hype and everything to do with it
You have famous dev's walking on stage and promising the world while inhouse is a disaster
any kind of payable skins in non-brawling games.
Oh we had this sick looking item i guess we'll take it out and sell it to them as cosmetic.
just totally ruins the feel and makes me feel like a paypig
poorly written female characters who entire personality is that they are a woman instead of a unique human being. constant sexism banter is tiring and makes me feel preached to (borderlands 3)
    stupid fricking names .
if you cant write a great story thats fine.

White and israeli evolutionary strategy can be explained in terms of the prisoner's dilemma. According to this, the safest play is to betray your compatriot but the most profitable play is to trust them. The israeli capitalist will always betray while the white one would trust more often than not. But because of those bad actors, trusting becomes an absolute suboptimal move, inevitably dragging everyone else down to their level. This explains why israelites are parasitic, lack self-sufficiency, and undermine any nation they're a part of. It also explains how whites had such amazing technological and cultural advancements yet are particularly weak against israelites because they are naturally trusting. You have identified the problem of israelites and their consequences but then conflated it to everyone.

P.S. East asians are like somewhere in between.

There is no israeli conspiracy. There doesn't need to be one. It's just bad actors ruining nice things for everyone else. But you'd rather be a cynical misanthrope and blame greedy executives or dumb consumers because that's safer and more acceptable than be a racist or antisemite and correctly identify the bad actors and expel them like they were 109 times previously.

This. I generally like the early 7th gen but it's easy to see how it was the beginning of the end. Once shit like COD came around and video games became "cool" in the eyes of the public it led to studios focusing largely on pleasing them. The reason so many remakes are being released is because the moronic people commenting "This NEEDS a remake!!!!" under videos of 5 year old games are the ones being listened to.

Greed and mob mentality. It's a chicken and egg situation.

Bean counters with no love of gaming whose entire skillset is finding ways to make more money from whatever their current company does lead to worse games that make more money. These are designed and marketed to prey on how people think, because lots of people will play something if they see it as a big release, and nobody will play a game they've never heard of. As a result, they get more sales despite being less fun to play, encouraging more of the same.

Releases getting samey, gamer culture changing, esports, microtransactions, everything being sanitised, it all makes more money in an increasingly mainstream industry.

None of this is unique to gaming and none of it is new. People have been finding ways to squeeze more money out of customers for centuries, if not millenia. Marketing and PR have always decided success more than quality.

hard to pinpoint 1 thing but the main things imo would be
live service models, allowing devs to release shit unfinished games and fix them later but add stuff like battle passes and monetize games to the point everything you do just seems like a grind to get loot boxes, so it feels like all their effort just went to that and skins instead of making good maps or better weapons/characters
twitch so everyone only flocks to what paid streamers play
discord/censorship, no one wants to talk in game chat anymore because they worry about getting insta banned so they just talk in discord now plus it's easier so competitiveness is gone, you may as well play against bots
YouTube and data mining ruined anything with builds because there's always a meta build that some neet has figured out and everyone will use that
movie walking games because there is no focus on making the game fun just including POC/gay people and as many cutscenes as possible to win awards
overall I think devs are pumping games out at a crazy rate and it's hard to keep up with what's good and what's bad because who are you meant to trust because everyone is a paid shill now, from game review companies to youtubers, so you end up buying and refunding a game in a few hours or pirating them

me, I buy full price triple A games, and actively seek out the ones with the worst monetization schemes or perverting classic IPs in the hopes that if I do it enough, that my 90-120 dollars will be the thing that tips these companies into doubling down, and hopefully, eventually, they double down so much that it causes another video game crash.

Obviously politics is a huge factor. I think that making your game within the box of wokeness causes a lack of passion that ends up making the game more of an imitation of something good, rather than something legitimately good, it impedes on creative vision, and that's only one problem with it.
Scummy financial practices and rushing games also a big problem that can outright destroy a game.
Lastly players, who just buy and eat up whatever they are given, sustain bad practices, leaving them go unpunished, and they likely will never change.

-Lazy developers/staff (same game different year such as CoD)
-Greed, obviously a company is here to make money, but charging $60+ for a game worth $10 is moronic, along with this is implementation of microtransactions, loot crates, battle pass, etc.
-Developers who don’t even like/ play video games. You’re telling me modern Blizzard, Ubisoft, Activision, Bungie, etc. actually like video games? Or it’s a passion of theirs?
-Woke. No, not women in games, but an over abundance of halfassed characters who only traits are taking wiener up the ass and holding cringe political opinions that they tell the protagonist over and over. Game developers pushing their political message, game corporations pandering for lgbt. Stfu and make games, stop using it as a podium to spread your vitriol. (Censorship in online multiplayer games also ends up causing less and less people to use voice chat in fear of being banned)
-Second to last, consumers buying this slop. People are buying the new COD, they’ve been buying the newest Destiny 2 DLC despite the content getting worse and worse. They continue to give money to them. I’m guilty of this as well, and I’ve started to just give up on most AAA titles.
-Lastly, gamers acting as if Indie devs can commit no crime. Just because it’s an indie studio doesn’t mean they’re above criticism. Idc if it’s only a few guys making the game, if it sucks it sucks. Idc if it’s in early access, why are they charging people to play this when it’s nowhere near complete? Some EA titles have been out for over a decade and are nowhere near complete, they will probably just take the money and run.
