It's a paint by the numbers game that does nothing unique where most of the focus is on graphics and the "story".
Every game with walking-talking. It's cancer in it's purest form. I don't count the amount of games I've uninstalled because how boring I got during one of those moment, or sometimes just because your character is speaking for nothing. "Wow, can't deny the view", or "that's a close one", that's my line as a player you mongoloid, let me play the game, I don't care about your lame writing.
Anyway, all I play nowadays are arcadish 1v1 games.

Any multiplayer live service game really. This is the most recent one I can think of. It will flop.

Just any games as a service. But if something not that, then I hated, just hated, GTAV, it's one of the worst games I've ever played and the fact it is so popular is the greatest example of what's wrong with modern gaming: gamers
none. it's always been mostly garbage with some good shit here and there. people whine about Fortnite and such, with all the microtransactions, or Oblivion horse armor, as if it's some new thing. But go back to arcades, those games were full of bullshit with the stated intention of getting you to put more money into the machine. It's the same thing now, they've just gotten better at it.

But the game is shit. It's linear as shit and has the worst combat system of all FFs.
Everything in the fights, besides critters, is to stagger the enemy. To know how you stagger the enemy you have to use the 'assess' materia. After that you do exactly what the materia says to you. There is no freedom or anything.
And if you overpower the enemy they will have a cutscene attack and the stagger bar is at 0% again.

I don't think I'm wrong on this one.
Two examples.
Skyrim - games that are huge but shallow as frick. It will take forever to do everything and that somehow is mistaken for quality.
The Last of Us - a movie-game, where everyone forgets the actual gameplay and talk about scenes and actors instead. It's that idiotic quest for vidya validation, trying to become more like Hollywood movies as if that's something to aspire to. It feels like some publishers treat gameplay as an embarrassing thing that they're forced to deal with, while creating their interactive movies.

Most anons here would post something like Starfield, but everyone with a brain knew Starfield was going to be a fricking disaster on release. The only redeeming quality TotK has, is that it's a functional game without little-to-no game-breaking bugs or glitches. That's it.

While going open world can be good for a series (see Jak 2 and Arkham City) there are just too many examples of devs thinking "let me just add a huge empty bland world and the zoomers will be tricked into buying"
This game is a solid 8/10, but with all the extra forced unnecessary padding it becomes a fricking 3/10.
I'm not talking about the mini-games which are still fairly fun, its the stupid story "puzzles" like Tifa's monkeybar section and the Robot arm puzzle nonsense.
Threads like these are how I know the majority of this board are just shitposters that don't even like video games. Miserable fricks.
Chapters 1&2 were exactly what I wanted from an FFVII remake
Then you get to Chapter 3 and are greeted with

FF7R is a good example of how terrible and lazy Square enix became. everything in the game is badly made and looks like shit too except the main character models.
ps2 game had better quality textures and models than this.
I think BOTW is a really good example too. taking a tightly designed adventure experience with fun progressive unlockables and turning it into a bland sandbox game with awful design, bad graphics and no progression and no interesting content is pretty unforgivable.
