    >inflate value of company while getting payouts from franchises that just keep selling at a slower pace
    >try to get bought out by Saudis for billions because they want to divest their economy from petroleum
    >Saudis pull out

Embrace Group is actually a rebrand of a company named, "THQ Nordic" Which you might have heard of in your younger years. They have been publishing games for a very long time. In my opinion they haven't changed much. All their games are still pretty mediocre.

That doesn't mean anything. They just bought THQ's name at the bankruptcy auction.

It's a little bit more complicated than that. But essentially THQ Nordic has always been Embracer Group, vice versa. I knew from the start that all their products were going to be mediocre, why? Because everything THQ Nordic released was always either really bad or really dull.

Jagged Alliance 3 and Last Train Home are pretty neat.

They had no plan. They had the archaic perspective of EA back in early 2000s that you can just buy companies and keep their golden goose. I think their stakeholder pulled out of that billion deal because they realized they are literally morons with lots of money.

      >They had no plan.
It's pretty clear their plan was to buy up a lot of cult classics and forgotten 8/10 games then release remasters to pave the way for possible sequels. But they fricked everything up with the saudi deal.

    >close all of them, effectively reducing the share of the market videogames occupy
Conspiratorial, but there is so much money on the line that it has become a legitimate possibility in my eyes

1.Buy old IPs that aren't currently in use.
    2. Make AA games fans of those IPs have been asking for.
    3. Profit.

They never got past step 1.

they bet on investment money from some saudies.
literally during an investment meeting with the shareholders said saudis called and cancelled last second so theye were out like a billion dollars that they needed since they already planned for it and spent money accordingly.

really embracer wasnt so bad. they were super hands off, told devs to make whatever they want with the only stipulation that whatever they did generated positive revenue.
it didnt need to sell gangbusters but just not make a loss.

their problem was they expanded and bought too fast and counted on money they didnt yet have.
