What is your favorite RPGs for the Gameboy Advance? It had an extensive library, both remakes and originals. I think I have to say my favorite was Golden Sun. I just liked the Djinn.

I bet you can't say anything about it without talking about yourself.
The djinn summoning system was interesting. I thought it was neat how what you summoned depended on how many of a specific type of djinn you had assigned to a character. The way a character's class depended on what djinn they had and could be changed based on using a summon was a neat concept.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Though I've only played a handful of GBA RPGs so far
Mother 3 is good. Final Fantasy Tactics Advance as well. Shining Force Resurrection of The Dark Dragon. And of course Final Fantasy V and VI.
Not a single RPG on this system was actually good. The most it got were the gutted versions of the big boy console games.
FFTA is an upgrade.
Gutted versions of console games? Wrong. They only added content to the Final Fantasy titles in the form of bonus dungeons, or other gimmicks. Nothing was gutted.
>Golden Sun, both games
These games get a lot of shit from contrarians, but they're great. The djinn system, well-developed world, cohesive use of psynergy in both the overworld and battle, fantastic music, and good amounts of both main story and optional content make these some of the best JRPGs I've ever played still to this day. It's also nice how you can click through the menus faster than the menu animations if you want, so battles can move very quickly once you know what you're doing.
>Final Fantasy Dawn of Souls (1 and 2 combined)
Perhaps not the best rendition of the games, and a lot of people argue that these were "too easy" compared to the originals, but I think the changes make the games way faster to play and more visually interesting. Later remakes kept a lot of those changes because the originals are a slow crawl and had several bugs. These remakes were needed at the time they came out.
>Fire Emblem
Technically more of a tactics game, but a lot of people count this and I love it. I've played all the FE games, and I still think the GBA games fill a great niche of being especially quick to play through while also having great animations, character designs, and decent stories for when you want to slow down and really enjoy it too. If it weren't for the success of FE7, we would probably never have gotten any more FE games in the west and it may have killed the series for good later on.
>Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
An absolutely stellar action RPG, with a lot of similarity to the early Paper Mario games (I think because they're technically the same series in Japan) but distinct enough to really have its own identity. Probably one of the most fun lighthearted RPGs out there.
>Dragon Ball Z: Legacy of Goku series
The first game starts out somewhat weak because of some missing mechanics, but the second game really nails everything. The third game is about as good as the third game. Overall really decent action RPGs with multiple playable characters.
>Summon Night: Swordcraft Story
At the time of release, this was probably one of the best action RPGs in existence. The weapon crafting system was really unique and interesting back then, as it preceded the "crafting craze" that is still going on today. The game has some decent replay value as you can play as male/female, have one of several spirit companions, and choose a different npc with whom to form a close relationship.
>The third game is about as good as the third game
I would hope so. I like Buu's Fury more than I like 2, but both have major flaws, especially level gates,
>FFTA
I kinda have always mostly ignored the story. I'm just here to explore an extremely comfy world with an excellent visual design and presentation.
God, why are GBA pixel art games just so fricking cozy. It can't all just be nostalgia, can it?
>Fire Emblem
>Technically more of a tactics game
Man, when I was a kid playing through 6 and Sacred Stones I always wished that they were more like RPG's with the Player Character having more presence.
I feel like I've been monkey pawed.
I didn't even mind Awakening or Three Houses but I do definitely feel like the franchised lost its charm.
>It can't all just be nostalgia, can it?
It is.
i like tactics but tactics advanced is just insane for me. i know the story is cringe but i like the kino vibes, and the extensive job autism appeals to me as well.
Golden Sun 1&2 with a speed boost.
I hate role playing games but I enjoy "JRPGs" like
fire emblem the binding blade
yggdra union
castlevania circle of the moon
>I hate JRPGs but I enjoy "role playing games" like
I loved the Medabots one
SRW OG2 and J
FFTA
Mega Man Battle Network 3 but I dunno if it counts
Riviera the Promised Land
Tales of phantasia although I don't think it's the best version of the game at the time of release it was amazing
FFTA was great, and I had hundreds of hours if not more on my cart by the time of the DS and FFTA2. There have been plenty of good FFTA-inspired RPGs since, so I've been eating well there.
What I miss more is mega man battle network, though, because we've not had a good RPG successor to that. The only thing that scratches the itch is One Step from Eden, and that's a short form roguelite. What I want is a 20-hour RPG using the MMBN formula.
