I think the system has potential, I'm not super keen on the whole 'use it to mimic video games' that seems to be the main thrust of the games made with it.
It's funny how Destiny and Payday communities embraced it to varying degrees but only the Warframe community got rabid when even the devs didn't care and thought it was cool.
As far as the system goes, it's so lightweight as not to be worth commenting on. I'd rather play a game like Lasers & Feelings for a one-shot, or I'd rather use a barebones framework like World of Dungeons.
I've never heard of them. I will say this though, if they are a current company, much of my opinion will be based on how woke, politically correct, angsty, radically feminized or otherwise ragingly liberal and opinionated about reality they are in their writing and artwork.
If they are gamers and their only interest is in games and not the real world or scoring woke points, then I support them entirely, even without knowing of them.
Same, but for the seething, coping, eternally doomed luddites that are conservatives. Lumen doesn’t look like it has that ugly black and white osr style art, so I guess it’s cool.
Yeah tons of that in media.......
You histrionic freaks have no off-switch for your gaygery. Always throwing tantrums apropos of nothing while sloppily gaslighting that someone else is doing it.
You’re right, it’s luckily only a select vocal minority that’s really offensive, but idk man I just see shit vaguely related to it like artwork and it just triggers me no end.
Luckily the vast majority of books aren’t like this.
Yeah that's not what was said at all.
Save the blogposting for your typo-riddled suicide note.
What a poignant example of why everyone is fricking sick of you trogs.
>see comment chain about the degradation of all media to serve a tertiary vocal minority >b***h about something completely divorced from it because a consensus that you dont get to astroturf occured >create sloppy strawman so you look less insane >get your head kicked in by your own strawman
You're the only one conflating bullshit for an excuse to go on one of your slopeskulled rants, and this is precisely why you mismade shutins are universally reviled.
Most of it boils down to "Roll a Bunch of D6's, take the highest" with 1-2 being a failure, 3-4 being a Success with Consequences, and 5-6 for Success.
Almost everything else is tied to a resource of some kind. Expend X to do Y. Combine it with the Drop Mechanic and it's dedicated to emulating games like Destiny, Warframe, and Anthem. Gila himself has made a "Season Pass" system to emulate those games further. It's wildly popular in certain "circles" due it being ridiculously easy to hack to do anything you'd like with it, because it's VERY lite.
I don't much care for it because it feels gamey in a bad way, like "why would I play this over just playing the vidya" tier gamey.
Please, I am begging you play something outside of the D&D family of games. Experience systems that try to do things other than be D&D in a new settings and/or with minor rules tweaks.
>It's wildly popular in certain "circles" due it being ridiculously easy to hack to do anything you'd like with it, because it's VERY lite.
You'd think the OSR or Nu-SR crew would eat it up then. Hackability is paramount.
No, not really.
It is neither tonally consistent BX or AD&D, nor are the rules for it easy to convert.
Hackability is a pillar of OSR, but it is at least 3rd place in importance if not further down on the list.
A continuity of rules is the most important pillar of the OSR. A d6 dice pool that builds narrative consequences into the rolling mechanic is not that. You cannot take an adventure written for Lumen and run it with BX or AD&D characters without more than 30 minutes of paperwork.
It also is an "everything" system instead of a dedicated dungeon crawler/skirmish combat game, which means it lacks tonal consistency with BX and AD&D; which is the second major pillar.
>Roll a Bunch of D6's, take the highest >it being ridiculously easy to hack to do anything you'd like with it
But there's already a bunch of systems that did this
Now are you just making this thread cause it's up for a Best Rules and Best Layout Ennie or because you're Spencer trying to guerilla advertise?
If it is you, Spencer, you should post the pdf or a link to it for people that actually care. Most fa/tg/uys are too lazy to google shit with no elevator pitch.
The swift death of your thread should tell you a lot.

How does it mimic video games?

Pretty much.
And my axe.

Everything you believe in is something that a fat pig CEO conjured up in a board meeting so they could increase growth by 2.7% this year.
>start seething when someone mentions conservatives in less then a positive light
>not even negative, just facts
The right is fricking braindead.
Pretty much yeah.
Are you watching corporate spys?
The fatigue is real.
So what about the actual game and its rules, guys?

Change that to 1-3, 4-5 and 6 and you just have Blades in the Dark.
Yes, and that's cancer too

I think it has some interesting ideas but would have to actually convince my friends to play it. Any anons played it before?
I've told Gila to kill himself multiple times. If that answers your question
post the pdf
