No I mean Fallout 4, Fallout 76 was just expected considering how bad Fallout 4 was + people wanting fricking Elder Scrolls 6 for more than 10 years also impact in the perception that Starfield only exist to delay it longer
>game is on top of the best selling lists on Steam and Amazon despite the fact it's game pass day one >lot of YouTubers talk about it constantly and these videos are getting thousands of views >the direct has 3+ million views, latest trailer 1,5 million, the animated trailer is at 1 million >"hype is dead"
>What killed the hype?
Unironically? Bethesda themselves killed the hype, they went totaly silent 1 month before release, the same month BG3 released. They should be marketing the shit out of Starfield. Imo i would argue that another delay is coming.
Paid mods, re-releasea of skyrim, and fallout 76. 10 years ago people would suck off bethasda to the point that autists would put drm in their mods to protect their IP. The first time they tried paid mods on steam it blew up in their face. But they kept trying it. I hope they have creation kit to the public and not some gay thing, were they only give select modders their tools so you can buy mods from the creation club.
Has there been any genuine hype for any modern games coming out in the past few years? I think everyone's been burned by major companies too much to really get excited. It's all just cautious optimism or pessimism nowadays.
>less than Cyberpunk and some game called Hammerwatch
I don’t know that doesn’t look too good to me, wasn’t BG3 the top seller at this point before its release? I know Starfield is on gamepass so lots of people will play it there for free, but if the Steam numbers are underwhelming it will paint the narrative of the game being a flop.
Man, I want to be hype. Been reading through the 5th Dune book and I've really been craving that hard Sci-Fi in a game but the more I try to find it in Starfield, the more I come up short. In Sci-Fi I like: >alien politics >future drugs >extreme biological modification >psychological horror on the future of mankind >societies that have existed for thousands of years and warped over time
The more I read of Starfield the more it sounds like we're getting none of that and just sticking "space colonist politics". Which sounds decent but I really want something more to spice it up and make me actually want to explore planets for something beyond making a base and laughing at funny animals.
Maybe there's more to it they aren't talking about but I'll wait it out and pull the trigger if someone on Ganker comes back and says "there's actually some really cool shit here" and they aren't just trying to cope with their deluxe edition purchase.
I legit haven't seen the general gaming community this hyped for a game in decades. The hype is unreal. I don't know what echochamber you're living in if you can't see the hype.
it's impossible for chuds to get excited about space
half of them think the earth is flat and stars are windows into heaven or some shit
the wonder and appeal of science vanishes when you can handwave everything as muh gawd did it
Yes but do you trust Bethesda to write an interesting plot about space exploration when the previous shit they did was Fallout 3 4,Skyrim and Oblivion?
Seems like you couldn't find a worse match to me.
say what you want about the main quests, but the worldbuilding is always top notch
they're always at their best in the exploration category which takes center stage in this game
I'm expecting something cookie cutter for the main quest, resolving the conflict between the factions and possibly uniting them at least temporarily against a bigger threat, probably whatever made the ancient aliens vanish
Fallout 76 mindbroke most Bethesda drones and apologists. They even pretend it wasn't done by the same people just to cope, it's clear that they haven't got enough energy to defend/praise yet an other janky mess to the level they did before.
you can't kill what was never there in the first place
BG3
nothing, non-morons are still very excited
Todd
i'm pretty excited to play it
A strangely accurate presentation of your less than mediocre 5e DnD campaign with some porn in it.
>playstation owner pretends the rest of the world isn't looking forward to the thing they cant have
Yawn
There's hype everywhere except here.
Modern Ganker killed the hype. A thread talking positively about Starfield would be derailled instantly.
People can pretend to be excited for a nothing game for so long
Fallout 4
you mean 76. that's what soured perception of Bethesda the most. Fallout 4, despite being ass, is innocent
No I mean Fallout 4, Fallout 76 was just expected considering how bad Fallout 4 was + people wanting fricking Elder Scrolls 6 for more than 10 years also impact in the perception that Starfield only exist to delay it longer
Seriously what's going on? Anything worth reading about the game?
They haven't officially revealed HIM yet
AAAAIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Based.
that isn't Atriox
ENOUGH OF SPACE ALREADY
I just want Elder Scrolls 6 man 🙁
Fricking sick of space games
>I just want a milked franchise man 🙁
>Fricking sick of brand new IPs and companies taking risk
>milked franchise
>the last game was 12 years ago
>game is on top of the best selling lists on Steam and Amazon despite the fact it's game pass day one

OP us just a snoy
Todd's transphobia.
What the frick my knees are moving on their own!?!!?!?!?!?!?
120 GB
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Fallout 4

Nothing bro, what you mean?
I'm very much excited to play Todd's game

I'm hyped for Dragons Dogma 2 and that's it BG3 was a nice surprise after these years of early access where I didn't expect much
Seems good to me.

TotK, BG3, and now Starfield. It's a rare treat to see Ganker get mindbroken three times in one year
Honestly? It was after the gameplay reveal

I never had any.
Bethesda gameplay loop is the most boring shit in existence and their writing is horrible.
Vanilla Romance options:
>Old lady
>Black guy
>Cowboy who already has a daughter
>???
I want to make the daughter datable.
>After sex mods are out Ganker will be filled with posts about anons fricking Sam's daughter.

Really? After Fallout 3, 4 and 76 you say this?
OP here, im trans btw.
I'm still hyped, can't wait.
