Souls games were always about the difficulty. Kings field, demons everything was always difficult for normies to enjoy and that's why they stayed away and made the game great for true fans of difficulty. Risk/reward in video games is non existent now since covid (as well as just overall corruption in governments across the world) have made humans too stupid to truly appreciate a good difficult game. If you play games to turn your brain off then you can keep watching your youtubers, but if you want to actually think when you play a video game and feel good about beating a boss you used to play souls games. That's not the case anymore and fromsoft didn't start this trend. Super ghouls and goblins, wizardry, and many other games are classics for a reason because they were difficult and had a great risk reward ratio. To argue that is like arguing films are better with big explosions and twerking as opposed to art films

No dedicated team to fix issues or balance problems that have plagued the game since it released (the game STILL crashes during invasions and coop) I agree with if it was marketed as a single player more difficult BOTW clone it probably would've done less in terms of sales but the player base that made souls popular would've remained faithful, instead fromsoft marketed it as the new dark souls 2 with pvp, coop and other goodies and instead everything revolves around ash of wars, bleed and rot and summons.
Sad time to be a fromsoft fan and I say this as just being introduced to the genre after BB, DS3, and sekiro I was expecting more of a dark souls game and instead just got a big open world with nothing to do and my game crashing

Even beyond multiplayer, the open world really kills subsequent play throughs. It's fun your first go around because you're having fun exploring new things. By my 2nd and third playthrough, however, i basically just got on the wiki and made a shopping list of what i wanted for my build so I could speed through the process as quickly as possible. There's no reason to do a lot of the extra content because you get some bullshit you don't need and you'll have to fight a boring filler boss to get it. So in short: Game is fun for a while in a first playthrough, but falls off a cliff after that.
I keep playing it. My boss keeps playing it. Real life people enjoy it too. You should touch some grass anon. Your obsession is not healthy.
