>mfw my guild reported an entire rival guild in WoW for buying gold and over 75% of them all got banned.
It's hilarious how true this is. I've never bought gold, but a lot of my friends have in tons of games because they subscribe to the asian mmo model of "Having more money means you should just be better"
ngl for the most part buying gold is straight up buying time.
if the grind isnt fun, converting half an hour of labor to several hours of grinding gold is a pretty good trade
This is why I don't play MMOs. Even in JRPGs the grind isn't made to be boring, it's at worst just padding the game, and at best it's pacing. for old ones I played, no idea what's going on with new RPGs lol
Only turboautistic 1%ers.
Back then most people didn't use add-ons, like at all.
Guides were hardly available, especially for new content because there was no PTR or datamining.
Some people went to Thottbott or Allakhazam, but most game knowledge was actually provided in-game via chats, friends and guilds.
Only people who played back then know that you couldn't simply alt+tab to a browser since it would murder your computer.
I know it's hard to accept that there was a time when the game wasn't all about parsing and meta-gaming.
>Only people who played back then know that you couldn't simply alt+tab to a browser since it would murder your computer.
No only poorgays would know that. >I know it's hard to accept that there was a time when the game wasn't all about parsing and meta-gaming.
As I said, shitty carebears that never saw past MC don't need to act like they know what actual players did.
>No only poorgays would know that.
And that was the majority of players. >As I said, shitty carebears that never saw past MC don't need to act like they know what actual players did.
And that was the majority of players.
You're making the same mistake over and over again. 1% turboautists should not dictate how the game works.
Wow lost the mainstream appeal because it became too hard. Which in turn lost Blizzard literal billions.
wow lost mainstream appeal because the appeal was leveling. once you reached max level, the vast majority of people stopped playing. having an extremely easy weekly raid wont save wow. nothing can compete with a 200+ hour leveling rpg

Exactly, and why did Blizzard focus on the end game? To appease the 1%, which coincidentally were the developers. They literally hired the most autistic EQtards.
All I did was post things that wrath provably introduced, yet still get blamed on cata for some reason.
Such changes have inertia. Especially when you take into consideration social bonds - guilds, friends. Wrath started the trend, but Cata exacerbated it drastically.
The sad thing is that even in Wrath many players were incapable of not getting everyone killed on Thaddeus. The average player has always been and always will be fricking awful.
And that's totally fine. The average player is also responsible for most of the purchases, which is why I am surprised Blizz doesn't want to rectify this. Maybe they are simply too brain-drained to do anything about it.

Yes, which is why wrath literally ruined the game with its bad decisions. The real consequences of wrath's moronation didn't even fully manifest until MoP.

They tried to rectify it with hard modes and shit like that but casuals cry that they can't do the content. Ulduar hard modes were actually pretty fun.

Oh the hard modes were fun, for sure. But they were also hard thus eliminating general population.
Just give casuals some engaging content. They think that adding another 50 mounts to grind and 200 pokemons is going to satisfy them. It's not, those systems are old - get something new, innovate. Or do what old Blizzard was best at - steal ideas and polish them to perfection.
YoshiP praises WoW at every opportunity. FinalSlop14 wouldn't exist without WoW. Unlike your degenerate infested pedophile game WoW has always been on top.
Kek this whole WoW vs FFXIV meme was artificially created by your gay fan base when SL came out because you delusionally thought that your game was going to become popular but instead it remained japshit FOTM and always will be.

No one is playing FFXIV. Zepla came out and said the current xpac is dogshit. There's nothing more to be said.
We all know these WoW threads are created by FFXIV discord brigaders every time WoW news pops up. Now that 10.2 is about to be announced you're in full damage control.
Seriously take a step back and look in the mirror, look at how you're wasting your life being utterly obsessed with hating World of Warcraft.
WoW will always be known in the public sphere as a masterpiece and cultural phenomenon. FFXIV is unknown and the biggest news to come out of your game was drama over a high chair.

Nah I dont think you being fricking shit at the game killed it, the game itself being fricking shit is the culprit
Because XIV banned mods, if a parsetroony says "hey you're doing low dps", you report them for using addons and they get banned, mythic autism also doesn't exist in XIV, mythics are truly what killed WoW harder than anything else just a shitty autistic system that's required for all others
I raided in FFXIV during shadowbringers - people still got kicked for low DPS, it just wasn't announced. Generally it would be "You don't know the fight" because a main culprit to doing low DPS is fricking up the encounter too much.
Kicked for not knowing mechanics is different from a kick for low dps, in public groups a kick for just low dps is extremely rare, normally it's "you died 10 times and just aren't contributing" which you wouldn't need mods to see, if someone is staying alive for the whole fight and is still doing dogshit dps 99% of groups won't touch them because the community is very much a hugbox that will report for any perceived slight against them
>Kicked for not knowing mechanics is different from a kick for low dps
Not really. The former is the excuse given when asked. Do you genuinely think people don't get kicked for underperforming when every other person is running dps parsing addons and is autistically logging?
This is true, but a lot of the time the autists can be easily baited into admitting they are parsing if you phrase your responses right. I've seen smart shitters exploit the autistic troon vanity more than once in this regard.
I say people are low DPS all the time. You can check using the threat meter and Yoshi did once say that you theoretically could use the combat log and math it all out yourself in the same way the plug-in does. Never been banned or warned. Just never say that you specifically know this information because of a third party addon and you are fine
You don’t really need meters for most content in ffxiv since you have a visible aggro table so if you see the SAM is lower than the BRD you have a problem
>Funny enough, this wasn't an issue in FFXIV when it came to dancer
We literally only bring ranged jobs to raids for a 1% addition to stats for a 5% total boost. Otherwise there'd be a third melee. Arguably it'd be four melee if there were no stat boosts at all
>We literally only bring ranged jobs to raids for a 1% addition to stats for a 5% total boost.
you also bring them for the better/extra mitigation over melee/caster but that's only actually relevent if you're doing shit week 1 or ultimates
>Funny enough, this wasn't an issue in FFXIV when it came to dancer
it kind of was, the whole reason why fflogs has a bunch of different ways it tracks dps is because of classes like dancer
The design choices Jeff Kaplan made before it was even released that became more pronounced with each expansion until it completely replaced all the stuff that was actually good.
Unfortunately, it was and always will be LFG/LFR. Any sort of automation takes away the sense of community and makes the dungeons/raids more "accessible" (aka worse players will join and play)
classic proved this wrong already, going on a general chat and spamming looking for a tank doesn't bring people closer, that's a idiotic and boomer take, we are not in the 2000s anymore grandpa
The problem is a culture problem, and the culture was permanently altered by LFG/LFR. The only way to go back to how it was before its introduction would be creating a new game/series without it.
I started in TBC and quit the first month of cata. The leveling bored the frick out of me. I don't know how people enjoy >kill 10 >collect 10 >click on 3 things
quests. WoW has the worst fricking quest system ever.
Cata genuinely made the game too convenient which killed the rpg aspect, needing to get mats and consumables for raids/day to day play was absolutely a part of what made you attached to your character, it really did feel like you were having to prep for a big event, having to go back to town to learn abilities made it feel like your character was actually growing, choosing talents to add +1% damage per level was also a big part of leveling your character even if it was a minimal change going 5-10 levels of getting nothing just felt bad for everyone
Cata is where your character became disposable and started the trend of even casuals fotm character cycling
>Cata is where your character became disposable and started the trend of even casuals fotm character cycling
RDF and heirlooms weren't added in Cata though, anon, and if you look through the class changes you'll discover that characters were substantially more powerful in wrath compared to tbc as early as lvl 10. Stuff like auto-learning spells and removing spell ranks was merely a natural continuation of the changes they began implementing in wrath which is where character cycling for casuals really took off, although it's true that Cata severely exacerbated the problem.
Casuals (99% of the playerbase) weren't character cycling in wrath because of the gearscore meta and the fact that it still took a significant amount of time even with heirlooms, that stopped mattering in cata
The biggest reason for the increase in people playing alts in Cata was because of the massive difficulty spike in heroic dungeons and raids in general from Wrath. So they'd get to end game, fail and start something new because that's what the guide said was the best class/spec to play. When that ultimately didn't work for them they'd try again.
Could it be the expansion that began the practice of adding any convenience-crap the devs could think of until the game was so fundamentally changed it was subsequently completely overhauled in the very next expansion? Players basically became capeshit heroes when reaching lvl 60 in wrath where most classes/specs could suddenly easily pull 3-4 mobs of equal level and dispose of them in seconds without breaking a sweat, because everything outside of 'm-muh endgame content' had been made trivial in the name of rushing everyone into raiding which made the game feel even more hollow.
NUUHHH it must have been the players themselves.
Lots of people were hyped for WoD because it seemed like it'd be a return to proper Warcraft shit with orcs and warfare, as well as there being a return of some major lore characters. The first part was especially important since MoP's aesthetics often didn't align with Warcraft
What we got in WoD was really good. The problem was that half the expansion was scrapped before it even came out so the entire thing turned into a shitshow. Midway through development they decided that they were going to do yearly expansion so they just chopped that fricking thing to pieces. Then they couldn't do a yearly expansion anyways.
And WoD came after MoP which had the longest gap between final patch and next expansion.
>cut two zones >cut both cities and replace them with 3 buildings at the pop zone >cut garrison locations >cut follower customization >cut class accessories >cut four battlegrounds >cut the shattrah raid >CUT THE IRON HORDE RAID IN THE IRON HORDE EXPANSION
everything matters in a mmorpg

People were hyped about muh orcs and going to not-outland, which for some reason was misinterpreted as a sort of 'return to the roots' direction for the game.
It was anything but that, unsurprisingly.
Marketing push and a killer trailer got people hyped, but it wasn't as popular as you think it was. If you look at the chart, the subscriber numbers were the same as MoP's launch. Why MoP slumped so hard near the end was due to SoO patch lasting over a year. That's a very long time without any new content. In one year vanilla got most of its content.
If that's when the movie released, they were literally giving the whole game + 1 month subscription on movie theaters when you went to see the movie, the mother of a classmate worked on one and gave us like a couple of these codes for each.

Too little too late.
yes. What killed wow was wotlk.
The dungeons were boring as frick and too easy, but it brought in all of the mega casuals so sub numbers looked good for a while. WoW was always a casual game, but wotlk catered to the type of casual who didnt even bother to read their abilities. When Cataclysm came out and the dungeons were actually fun it was the wotlk babies who cried to daddy blizzard until they were nerfed to the point of being boring wotlk tier dunegons.
>The dungeons were boring as frick and too easy, but it brought in all of the mega casuals so sub numbers looked good for a while.
Except it didn't "bring in" anyone.
WOW IT'S REALLY HARD TO FIGURE OUT WHEN AND HOW WOW DIED YOU GUYS
I quit WoW right at the end of Wrath because I started viewing the game as a chore. I was the Raid-Monkey, Played a druid, guild fed me money because every week I was specced into something else depending on who didn't show and got tired of it. tried to go back with roomies when Classic dropped but the magic is gone.
which part
the saturday morning questing?
the neutered "heroics"?
the homogenized classes?
the rehashed first tier?
the lazy as frick 2 room third tier?
the death of attunements and natural progression throughout an expansion in favor of seasonal catchup welfare epic heroics?
the mtx cash shop?
the introduction of queued pve content?
>Introduced group finder >First paid mount >First welfare epics >Heirlooms >Major content drought >"Accessible" end game content >Absurdly overpowered meta classes >Influx of casual pandering created generation of literal babies who force Cata to dumb itself down
Yeah, wrath was the... peak...
It seem that you think that Wrath made the game easier? While Naxx re-release was fine difficulty-wise it was Ulduar that murdered the casual guilds.
Cataclysm on release was insanely difficult. Normal players couldn't complete normal dungeons, not to mention the over-tuned heroics. Raids were also on a higher level than anything in Wrath.
The sad thing is that even in Wrath many players were incapable of not getting everyone killed on Thaddeus. The average player has always been and always will be fricking awful.
I quit raiding in Catan despite my guild being like #3 on our server in 10 man. I made the mistake telling one of our healers she was being a b***h so her and another healer gquit. The other healer was my sister, our MT was my best friend, our OT was my sister's friend, and the DPS was my brother, me, and two of my brother's friends. We just sort of lost the will to play after that. I dabbled in Mists and WoD but never cared to raid. I got more hot from playing my 70 Disc Priest twink or whatever level it was and being a God in BGs.
>WoD sees unprecedented spike in players >that instant dropoff
I think that was the first time a lot of people felt slighted by Blizzard. WoD appealed to old players and people who had played WC1/2/3. It was pure nostalgia bait and pushed out the door to line up with the release of the Warcraft movie. What a shame that it was so godawful, I think they ruined any good will they had garnered in one expansion.
>2010 >WotLK >FFXI got Aht Urghan >survival crafting trash and zombie game trash hadnt invaded the vidya market yet >normalgays hadnt gotten into gaming yet >smart phones hadnt really taken off yet, still not that many normies on the internet >social media was still in its infancy
man that was a good year
i feel like that graph applies to everything, not just WoW or video games
What really gets the nogging jogging, these guys who made WoW their one game and no-lifed it, made a career out of Doomposting the game, and are surprised their Doomposting had an effect and turned people away from the game. Now they're acting all innocent and pretending they had no part to play and were just casual by-standers.
Asmongold is the absolute worst for this, but Bellular is not far behind him.
Why do m+ keys deplete?
Why does only 1 class have a summoning portal?
Why did they nerf drums?
Why does food not stay after death?
Why did they destroy all semblence of balance to add an uninteresting class?
Wow has so many easy to solve issues that affect all but the most try hard of players. The developers are insanely out of touch

great job not addressing any of the points made you giga moron
Asmorat want's to literally remove the cooking profession altogether from the game by making it useless in raids and make raids nothing more than bland boss rush modes with no difficulty. His takes are beyond fricking stupid and so are you.
because you failed, why shouldnt they deplete?
because only one class uses summoning magic
to make bringing real lust more valuable so as not to disproportionately nerf some classes utility
because when you die your buffs get wiped, you can craft an embellish to change this if you want
ironically aug evoker only destroys balance at the top 0.00001% of play so your “working every man” viewpoint shouldn’t care about it
but you’re just mindlessly parroting an eceleb so what do you know
Max is right Asmon's takes on this game just keep getting worse and worse the longer he's been out of the raiding scene.
This is on top of the fact that he's just been getting carried and pampered by his viewers since MoP.
buff classes short circuit damage meter trannies. just look at every instance of buffs being viable in xiv. noooo you cant bring dancer thats le illegal. nooo your parsey is padded by ninja's trick attack. noooooooooo ast gave you the damage card ban his damage report!!!
Blizzard has hired a bunch of unironic furry trannies who made a furry exclusive class that does shit dps but buffs others, modern wow culture is 100% based around having the biggest dps meter, since they have a low dps meter no one wants to work with them even though they buff others to make their meter bigger, it's deserved, basically furBlack folk are finally getting the rope
It's not a class, it's a spec that was added to an existing class months later. It's honestly kinda weird that they just added a whole new role to one spec for one class that already existed.
A tiny handful of ESLs didn't understand that the new spec was the game's first buffer class so people have cherrypicked them to act like no Aug player can find a group. Meanwhile the other 99.9% of Mythic+ groups will kick Evokers if they AREN'T Aug. It's literally the most demanded spec in Mythic+ history.
Activision
During WotLK they fully implemented their strategy in game direction
The GMs were no longer allowed to really interact with players. it was aimed at drawing as much cash as possible
Game design went from 'exploration' to 'loot threadmill'
A few things. The game changed from being a social experience to being a chase. More and more people became interested in trying to be "first". This resulted in the devs trying to make more content to keep up with demand, but they were already being put on the backburner so that Blizzard could make their next big thing. Eventually the devs no longer had talent to make anything and the aging engine didn't even allow them to do anything interesting anyway. So they made the game a liberal mouth piece instead. There you go, WoW was dead the second that Wrath of the Lich King came out, it was only a slow slope after that.
Those messages from the Augementation Evoker are just sad, people really need to do this? They aren't aware of support classes that buff other members? They just think about raw dps numbers?
Augmentation Evoker is literally the most demanded spec Mythic+ has ever seen. To the point that any Devastation Evokers that try to join a group will be angrily booted as soon as they notice they aren't Aug.
It's hardly the typical cancer when Aug is the most desired spec in the game. You'll be treated like royalty even if you're subpar at playing it, given the spot over any other non-Aug player by default. The messages in the OP is what is not remotely typical.
Game has been made way less accessible since Legion as they just designed the game around super hard core world first guilds that have actual slaves that farm gold for them.
If you do any content besides M+20, Mythic you are wasting your time, while in Classic if you do content its all BiS upgrades.
Run Backs, Raid Lock outs, Cross server raid for MYTHIC being locked, God Comp Gate keeping, Constant Nerfs and buffs and a changing meta mid patch, Class Quest removed from legion, there's no content and if they add content it dosen't matter because the only content that matters and gives you actual good rewards is mythic and thousands of other small things like its not even warcraft anymore its not even generic fantasy...its like a twitter thread full of ques designers making random people gay/trans.
>whispering to say "damage is kinda low, everything good"
he was worried about that guy and was trying to help, even used Whispers so that it doesnt become a scene.. and the person that made this image took it as an attack or whatever? snowflakes lol
the community
every shit design choice could be overlooked if the community wasn't a bunch of moronic tryhards >kill boss >always have some moron complaining about lowest dps >lowest dps gets kicked despite doing mechanics better than homosexual complaining >group falls apart
then we have layering/sharding which makes a mmorpg not a mmorpg . shitty limited player content and troony mode
the endless dogshit changes blizz made every expansion which honestly really started with legion, while m+ was good the legendary/AP system was cancer that plagued WoW til dragonflight which did away with borrowed power but im at a point where i dont give a frick to play retail ever again unless i can push mythic raid content with 10 ppl max
unironically 10 man heroic raiding in cata/mop was the best change because it was much easier to put together and retain 10 strong players to clear content consistently with 0 loot drama rather than relying on 20-25 morons to get shit done while retaining the good raiders was cancerous as frick
unless you've been in an officer role you have no fricking idea how cancer it is to deal with all the bullshit and drama that comes with managing and retaining a roster of 20/25/40 morons week by week
He's right though, 10 man is ideal and I have no idea why WoW didn't make it standard after the smashing success of Karazhan all the way back in TBC. It's much simpler and easier to manage a 10 man roster than it is a 20 man or higher roster, and it should've been made the standard raid size a long time ago.
You have a problem, all that anon said was it's easier to manage a 10 man raid group than 20-25 raid group, which it is and if you're doing it every week you really will get burned out having to deal with 20-25 tards, rounding them up for a raid.
Yesterday I did mythic plus with a couple of buddies for the first time. I met them a while ago when I was still choosing my main spec and we had fun running my keys.
MMORPGs in general(especially FF XIV) have pretty mediocre RPG systems, but nothing is stopping you from having fun with other players.
No one but you lazy frick unwilling to have some social friction.
I said MMORPGs in general, anon. But yes, XIV is the most mediocre out of the bunch in terms of design and gameplay mechanics. The way people can spend staggering amounts of time and have nothing to show for it is insane.
In WoW I can spend a weekend farming and have my tier set by monday and start the week with a new set of passives for whatever I want to do.
Around 1.5k days subbed in XIV, around 3k hours in destiny 2, Tera since manaya's core, hundreds of hours of private servers in Ragnarok online, and maybe half a year subbed in World of warcraft, among other many games I didn't bother mentioning
You were subbed to XIV for 1500 days? Damn anon you must have everything done on several alts.
Feel free to post your character

Many alts, actually, I used to roleplay a lot. I made alts for FC wide roleplaying groups. That used to be a lot of fun until shadowbringers when the game got more popular and more addons came out and all the shameless coomers flooded into the game.
I remember I was leveling a Paladin once. Playing healer in a dungeon.
The way youre supposed to heal is use attacks to build the holy power charges and spend them on healing.
The tank in the dungeon couldnt tank for shit and starts blaming me. Tells me to use a gcd heal instead. I refuse. They kick me from the dungeon.
In short, WoW players are insufferable and moronic and frankly that's to be expected because if you give money to blizzard at this point your life is worth less than a male ant.
>guy queues tank >doesnt have ironfur on hotbar >never uses it >takes huge damage >"uh this is the healer's. hey healer can you heal correctly" >healer literally doing max possible healing >"no no this can't be my fault. time to kick." >goes on forum >"healers are so bad stop leeching"
Homie it is a lvling dungeon. A dps can tank a lvling dungeon

A DPS can tank a leveling dungeon up to ~25. The level scaling is so fricked that you become pathetically weak from 30 until about 50, at least last time I played. A level 40 healer's spells barely move their parties health bars in leveling dungeons, but if you enter one at 15 on any role, you're a fricking god.
Yea I used to be a huge sierra games fan back then and Vivendi who owned blizzard and sierra games used to keep a lot of the old sierra games from the 90s alive with servers but as soon as Activision took over they shut them down like in a week.
>bu-bu-buuuuffs
do you want 2 dps doing an xtra 30k damage while you do 20 yourself?
or do you want a third dps that does 100k? >XIV groomers cannot answer this question intelligently
>lower dps than healer and tank
This picture is probably skewed, but from the little I know of WOW you're doing something EXTREMELY wrong to not outdamage a healer, as in not attacking at all, at best a healer can do like 1/15th of the worst dps on the group
I really hate the idea of m+ honestly, i don't like infinitely scaling bullshit, just give me one hard difficulty so i can just finish the fricking game.
wiener ass dood I hate this game dood AARGH dog shit game dood wienersuckers thanks for the 5 dollars donation thank you so much watch me get this mount WTF dood god ass game dood give me the mount already OH MY GAWD dood farming this mount for years already man Coldy got it like in one week dood mcconnel what you think of the game? what bad? no dood best mmo right now expansion is LITTY dood if I killed my mom? you banned I don't need to explain it to you stupid b***h you banned get out of my chat wiener ASS another wipe dood nooo who didn't do the mechanic? it's a two mechanic boss you just don't die you know what you kicked from the group dood I will not have my time wasted here dood get out of here anyway was really fun to play 10 minutes of World of Warcraft time to react for the rest of the stream

What a fricking moron lmao, obviously this gay doesn't know how the game works and is talking out of his ass, pathetic
This is the first WoW expansion where I legitimately do not care a single bit about the story.
Even in Shadowlands I gave sort of a damn about Garrosh, Uther, and Arthas.
Trash can game ended with legions plot and they someone how think this game needs to keep going. Mofo cant just build a new game they have to milk it until its fully unprofitable to keep up.
Y'shtola getting her face melted by Fyrakk and a close up shot of her blacked, charred skin peeling off her face. Throw in the twink elf having his skull cracked open and that would be a great collab.
The problem is the core characters of FFXIV all have shit designs and terrible voice actors. FFXIV will never have a Thrall or Arthas. Japs can't write.
About what I expected. XIV would get some cool shit like Lich king (ultimate) meanwhile WoW would get a couple toys and pets that you wouldn’t be able to get because mindbroken bucks like yourself would grief the areas with the NPCs and /yiff anybody who bought them.
Also thrall and Arthas are incredibly shallow characters who even basic characters in XIV mog. This is the ultimate truth that WoWtards will never accept, their characters are not deep
Poorly written cringe furshit character. Go look in any FFXIV thread and the degenerates are losing their minds over her. The cognitive dissonance is real.
I also wouldn't be opposed to seeing the elves getting their eyes gouged out with a red hot poker.

you need real friends bro
Obviously, WoW killed WoW. Behold, the final boss for the incredible Dragonflight expansion. I have no idea how anyone who still plays these games can claim they have anything even resembling self respect.
Who cares about the story? It’s all gonna be dogshit either way. That recent cutscene where the villain showed the most bare minimum amount of personality despite him still just being le evil bad man who’s gonna die in 1 patch has bucks jumping for joy treating him as the best villain in years and comparing him to Arthas in terms of complexity. It really goes to show how deprived of even middle school level character writing WoWbucks are.
And also the fact that Arthas isn’t even a deep character despite him being held on a pedestal
>your game made ten gorillion dollars last fiscal quarter instead of eleven gorillion, it's fricking dead and over pack it up
MMOgays are fricking mentally ill. Why do they behave like this?
The funny part about these threads is that the majority of the mad defenders of both games are both WoWgays, just one side are comprised of the ones who are so fed up with blizzard they just want to see it fail.
It’s literally WoWgays arguing with other WoWgays
Why wouldn't I? I fully agree with you.
Nobody gives a shit about Yoshit-Piss's dead VN with ERP endgame, naturally that means nobody will defend it.
The only people left are WoW fans and beaten wives who can't move on from the ex that dumped them without watching him get killed or become homeless because they're simply that mindbroken.
Part of Classic WoW was the journey to max level anon. The shift to focusing on end game content ruined that. Speed running and Wikis ruined that. You missed out on the days when hitting 60 after months of playing was exciting.
The only reason to take longer than 4 weeks to hit max level was that you didn't have friends to help you and you were on a completely unbalanced server between horde and alliance, in which you chose to be alliance for some inane reason outside of Paladin. So you were constantly ganked and unable to level once you got past level 30.
>supposed to be a massive role playing game >basically a live DnD world >everybody is on their own >there is no sense of danger >nobody is in a party if they arent forced to do it >if they are in a party 90% of them are autistic spergs
I feel like it lost the sense of adventure and roleplaying. I wonder if we ever get there, but I feel like a new MMORPG would have to lean heavily on AI
>a real living world (where NPCs move, quests/locations/dungeons change and evolve etc.)
AI is the way that it will go and it will start with Hasbro forcing WotC to make a VTT for One D&D that will be the encouraged way for new players to experience D&D. Once people realize that you can have a robot dynamically make a storyline, then other companies will want to copy it. The only problem after will be how to keep all of the data that will be generated from dynamic storylines being generated by millions of players.
I was close to resub for hardcore/vanilla, but then I saw a gameplay video where on the character creation screen instead of make and female there was this sign saying "body types" or what and under it a male silhouette and a female silhouette and this reminded me that I don't want to give money to a company like this.
Why is a thread about WoW got WoW players complaining about a completely separate MMO, like it has any bearing on the quality of their own MMO?
Is this a common thing that happens?
Because they feel like there is nothing that can be improved and that it was simply FF14 that stole the player base and that it happened for NO REASON. If 14 didn't exist, than WoW would still be king of the MMO.
I mean, he isn't wrong here.
The WoW community does behave like a bunch of mentally ill manchildren largely due to Blizzard allowing that segment of the community fester and grow due to lack of actual GMing.
Didn't ask. Still better than the cesspit XIV calls moderation, they let troons textfrick each-other in broad daylight in the middle of their capital cities but you get a timeout if you dare to tell someone they're not playing the game right.
Except the entire premise is flawed because it is simply not true, see
>tell someone how to play the game >get banned
adults btw
and
>treat them like adults >will ban you for hurting someone’s feelings like you’re in kindergarten
lmao
This shut-in moron is advocating for people to talk even less to each-other than they already do because their money might get stolen at any point for any reason.

public ERPing would get you an easy ban as long as someone bothers to report your ass
they even handed a few bans to people for having links to shit like lewd RP cards on their search info at some point. As long as someone bothers to fill the report they do crack down on shit like that. An avatargay from /vg/ spammed Black person Black person Black person in shout chat during a summer event and he didn't get a ban, not even a 3 day, because no one bothered to report him
It really amazes me that XIV has gained the reputation as the game where you get banned for saying anything when from my experience that is anything but the truth.
I have constantly told sprouts to git gud, mocked people for messing up mechanics, trashed on people for not doing their job, called people out for awful DPS, had plenty of people say they are reporting me and I have never had a single warning or ban.
Meanwhile in WoW I remember I was auto muted for a week because people were mass reporting anyone who talked in trade chat on expansion launch day and I happened to be one of those unlucky enough to get hit with that. My chat log that was used as “evidence” of my wrongdoing literally had one thing in it which was me asking where the new PVP vendors are. And to no one’s surprise my appeal was denied.
I’m convinced the rhetoric that you get banned for anything in XIV is more WoWgay projection
probably because 80% of the “people” in frontlines are literally botting/afk for the daily xp and the other 20% never read chat because the vast majority of matches no one will type a single thing in chat
What you don’t read >Onsal Hakair. Coordinates: 24.7x 19.1y <se.6>

I've botted and gold bought and not gotten banned for it. Ipso facto, you don't get banned for botting or gold buying, but, in fact, completely arbitrarily.
It depends on which GM you end up with, I remember getting a three day ban for telling some gay to actually do more than autoattack tier damage. But that was during Heavensward, maybe gays are different these days.
As it should be. I will be nasty to you in chat and not give a frick but I won’t ever be the one holding up a run or afking for no reason.
“You pull it you tank it” gays are the first ones who get my BL and report
>Blizzard treats its community like mentally ill manchildren >this is why the community is filled with mentally ill manchildren
Sounds right. Dunno why anons getting upset about it.
Well, I really think wows history would be a lot better looking if they never listened to the players. They should have made this game in a closed shell without any influence from the outside world, all the problems I think can be traced to them trying to please the players. They ruined their game and their lore all at player request.
How am I wrong though >this game is too easy >okay we make it super hard for you and everyone quits >now I hate garrosh make the story moronic and ruin his character
Just down hill from there. I see players ruining the game in that wrath/cata/mop era. Never played much after that though.
last time I played was bfa and during some dungeon I had never played I deviated slightly from the path and they insta-kicked me. everyone is a miserable c**t on there.
Private servers killed vanilla, tbc and wotlk... resulting in a mediocre classic experience.
Thank god the private Cataclysm servers is not big and notorious.
We might have a genuine and organic classic Cataclysm server when it launches.
>play HC >reach 60 and have a ton of fun leveling/talking with people >feel like vanilla but without the trash community of classic >I die at 60 cause I was too happy >feel like all the friends I made while leveling are now too far away from me >stop the game
Just wish classic was the same experience as HC, I curse myself for dying like a moron, but HC is great if you guys want to feel that mmo social feeling again
I wonder if some sort of EQ-inspired midcore server would have an audience. On death lose inventory, gear, and a couple levels, but it's not the entire character.
The only thing worse than playing an mmo at the cost of your real life is playing an mmo at the cost of your real life AND mmo progress. I'm not down with mmos anymore and wow hc sounds even more self-destructive than any game I've ever heard of, including gacha.
horde bias. every shitty choice springs out from this
>horde has a massive advantage in getting to questing areas and moving around the world due to better/more fast travel paths and having better spawn points/flight paths/bases in basically every zone? better remake the entire world in cata so both factions are like this and then further make things easier and easier to travel around the world >horde has a massive advantage in pvp? better constantly tweak things so that they're "balanced" so the meta can never settle >horde has an actual disadvantage with no paladins and low player rate? better give them pretty elf paladins for no reason

I got banned for 3 days once for knocking players off the flight master platform in dalaran to their death in crystalsong forest far, far below during wotlk by using the controlleable abominations that exploded from a quest in Icecrown.
Pic related.
During Classic release I used to stealth on top of the Thousand Needles’ Horde town elevator and throw Distracts at people running on the platform, which would make them jump off the platform to their deaths.
I probably killed several hundreds of players like this and never got banned. Most likely because people never managed to spot me.
You didn't get banned because you did nothing wrong, just like Garrosh.
Using a core class skill on a PvP realm, which you did, is something completely different from that guy abusing a quest item to kill players in a sanctuary zone.
Well, that one other time in BFA I used the horse glitch to make people's game crash in Boralus. I didn't catch a ban either although I guess it's not the same as killing people.
Yes, ffxiv is great if you want to ERP, because the characters are cuter
That's it, gameplay wise, WoW Vanilla/TBC/Wotlk is the best and will never be defeated, it's not even an argument
its literally all just burned turbo autists who made their entire personality and self worth wow and now replaced it with xiv and want to see wow crash and burn
They lost or fired the devs that mattered. Then all the garbage devs left got rid of anything worthwhile. My warlock hasn't felt good to play since the WoD pre-patch dropped, and it was obvious that it would only ever be downhill from there. Even Cata didn't break me. WoD however... And it's been roughly the same since. Even if they hired everyone back and built WoW 2, I'd never play again. Too little, too late.
Classic resurgence when Wrath got hard proves you wrong. HC proves you wrong both appealcore and real release. Retail being dead proves you wrong.
There is a reason Vanillca to mid Wrath was the peak back then, and there's a reason it's literally happening again now in Classic.
Fortunately you can stay contained in the autistic Retail hell.
Of course it was, it's a 15 year old game.
The point is that most of Classic's population, the dad guilds, stopped raiding in Ulduar.
You keep making the same mistake as current Blizzard - focusing on the top 1% instead of general population.
Anonymous
people always say blizz is focusing on the top 1%, but honestly, what does that even mean? its not like the top 1% are showered in bonus content that filthy casuals are gatekept from. everyone gets the exact same raid, just with some tweaked mechanics and damage numbers. blizz isnt making enough content for anyone to be satisfied
judging content by the competitive guilds is a really shitty way to look at it since it doesn't represent the playerbase
the vast majority of people playing classic wotlk beat the hardest content though. pic related. sure, they didnt beat the raid in 1 hour, but they did end up beating the entire raid. compared to retail, theres 5k guilds that killed the first boss on the hardest difficulty. only 1k actually made it to the final boss. in wotlk the raid is so easy that everyone can beat it
also theres 477k fire mage parses in heroic 25 man. in normal 10 man, theres only 4k. theres 100 times as many people doing the hardest content in wotlk than there are casuals doing the casual easy difficulty. id say competitive guilds do in fact represent the playerbase
9 months ago
Anonymous
You can't compare Wotlk re-release with the point that was made against Retail.
Try doing the same statistics for Retail raids in this expansion and you'll see a completely different picture.
The focus on 1% mainly affects how the encounters are designed. Blizzard admitted multiple times that they have to work against the addon makers. This basically means that the end game is unplayable without them. Encounters are too complex, even trash having more mechanics than some Wrath bosses.
During race to world first guilds had multiple on-site addon writing teams. Just to break the encounters as fast as possible. Do you realize how many resources Blizzard is wasting on this arms race? Resources that could be instead put into more content.

>Try doing the same statistics for Retail raids in this expansion and you'll see a completely different picture.
what? I mentioned retail raids in my post. out of the 5k guilds that killed at least 1 boss on retails highest difficulty, only 1k killed the final boss. in wotlk 7k out of 10k guilds beat the final boss. wotlk is so easy that is has a 70% clear rate, retail has 20%.
if you want statistics about the number of parses, its the opposite of wotlk. retail has more parses in the lower difficulties than there are at the highest. >The focus on 1% mainly affects how the encounters are designed. Blizzard admitted multiple times that they have to work against the addon makers.
the quote about blizz working against addon makers is mostly about timing. addons will instantly organize a mechanic (like telling person 1, 2 and 3 to move to locations x, y and z). in the past youd wait for your raid leader to yell "ok uhh who has the mechanic uhhh ok you guys go there", now you can react instantly. the mechanics happen faster now because theres no need for 1 guy to take time to organize the rest of the group.
yes, world first guilds had guys to code addons that helped them instantly organize fights. the only thing blizz did to "work against" those addon makers is adjust the timings of mechanics. blizz isnt have secret hacker duels with addon devs to make mechanics harder. they arent "wasting resources" on a secret hacker arms race. there is no epichackeraddon.exe that hacks into raid bosses and makes them stand there afk for a free boss kill
Exactly, and why did Blizzard focus on the end game? To appease the 1%, which coincidentally were the developers. They literally hired the most autistic EQtards.
[...]
Such changes have inertia. Especially when you take into consideration social bonds - guilds, friends. Wrath started the trend, but Cata exacerbated it drastically.
[...]
And that's totally fine. The average player is also responsible for most of the purchases, which is why I am surprised Blizz doesn't want to rectify this. Maybe they are simply too brain-drained to do anything about it.
blizz focused on the end game because thats where the playerbase was. people reached max level and quit.
its easier/cheaper to add some more bosses to the end of the game than to add 200 more hours of quests too. it makes sense that they focused on endgame
I accept your concession.
You are aware you're proving my point, right?

you said "the dad guilds, stopped raiding in Ulduar.". maybe true, but they quit the game didnt go to era or soicore
9 months ago

The chart you posted was basically 0 during Naxx.
Take into account that not everyone in era is raiding, not everyone has even finished leveling, especially the dad guild refugees.
Ironforge.pro doesn't contain data on HC realms, at all. HC PTR was extremely popular as well. Bloodsail, the US HC realm is also visibe as 0, but it was extremely active.
There were multiple avenues to absorb the Ulduar exodus.
I don't know if you play Wrath, but it was evident just from the state of cities/world. Stats while useful don't show the entire picture.

no but if most are raiding (and with multiple characters) thats low pop >not everyone has even finished leveling, especially the dad guild refugees.
yeh the 1 million bots are always leveling. the world is very active with blizzards main customers >Ironforge.pro doesn't contain data on HC realms, at all.
so where do you see the stats

because only the chinese would bot with such intensity

there's hardly any bots leveling in era, why would there be? blizz isn't banning anyone despite what the PR blue post claim
there are far more active bots in wrath due to the active economy and GDKP mafia
every stat site is only giving a partial view, only blizz knows for sure

relative to the players there are since most era raids are also gdkp >every stat site is only giving a partial view, only blizz knows for sure
yes and they wont say for the same reason they stopped reporting sub numbers

they won't say but you can see their actions - introducing HC was a really strong indicator on how things are going, not the fact it was HC specifically, but that it affected era

it will just release near some private server to kill it and then die 2 months later like the last time because its trash. im sure it will be spammed here though
FFXIV’s parsers show your contribution to the whole party’s DPS. So if you buff someone else damage by 10% it’ll increase your DPS by 10% of that guy’s DPS on the rDPS display. Doesn’t WoW have the same thing?
M+ and mythic raiding. Both of them cranked up the autism and esport gayging to the max. Even the shittiest shitter will whine and moan whenever you do something outside of the meta/guide.
Min-maxxing and gear score. The fact that people with high gear score who fricking suck donkey balls and die constantly or just can't play their class at all get brought over people with subpar gear score that can outplay the former is ridiculous.
>game is exploding in popularity >centerpiece of the expansion is the franchises posterboy >sub numbers completely flatline
wotlk was the beginning of the end, the only people who would deny it are wrathbabbies
If they werent they would show their game, they are probably going to do the same shit like Valorant where they officially announce it 3 months before release.
Yeah but we havent seen anything of the game not even concept art of a level 1 mob despite the game being in a thing in some capacity since 2016(current EP said thats when he was hired to work on a MMO prototype).
>Do you realize how much of an investment an MMO is?
can't be much more than your standard video game, especially since all the addictive aspects have already been solved thanks to blizzard.
Take your pick.

You forgot WoW tokens.
I will never touch retail or WotLK classic ever again thanks to Blizzard selling gold.
not an argument xiv cultist, people would have bought gold from chang anyway, just like they do in your troon game
Is this some weird falseflag to make WoWgays look obsessed? Trust me we already know
>no counter-argument, just hyper-focuses on getting caught
lol
>mfw my guild reported an entire rival guild in WoW for buying gold and over 75% of them all got banned.
It's hilarious how true this is. I've never bought gold, but a lot of my friends have in tons of games because they subscribe to the asian mmo model of "Having more money means you should just be better"
I right click report everyone I see in arenas for buying gold in hopes they get banned 🙂
ngl for the most part buying gold is straight up buying time.
if the grind isnt fun, converting half an hour of labor to several hours of grinding gold is a pretty good trade
>i have too much money irl that means i should have an advantage over you in-game
surrender to madness yourself my man
Why even play the game if you find it boring? Sunken cost?
>the only people left playing WoW are people who don't like the game
shocker.
This is why I don't play MMOs. Even in JRPGs the grind isn't made to be boring, it's at worst just padding the game, and at best it's pacing.
for old ones I played, no idea what's going on with new RPGs lol
Jews.
People have been using addons and wikis since the beginning carebear.
>Some people went to Thottbott or Allakhazam, but most game knowledge was actually provided in-game via chats, friends and guilds.
lol
Such changes have inertia. Especially when you take into consideration social bonds - guilds, friends. Wrath started the trend, but Cata exacerbated it drastically.

>Such changes have inertia.
Or do what old Blizzard was best at - steal ideas and polish them to perfection.
more players than your troony chatroom & cutscene simulator
???
Your obsession with XIV is unhealthy. I know that it took your #1 spot but you need to let it go
there was no mention of the game's name...
but, as they say --- if the noose fits, put it around your neck, Zivtroondle
Aw your obsession is so cute! I am happy that XIV mogging WoW has caused you such emotional trauma
Literally no one brought up Troonfantasy14 except you.
>WoWtroons can’t even keep their obsession with XIV under wraps so they can discuss their own game
I genuinely feel bad for you people
YoshiP praises WoW at every opportunity.
No like genuinely tell me how it is being this mentally fricked by a videogame competent with yours. It can’t be healthy, not only do you engage with several forms of self comforting delusions, you constantly seem to be incapable of talking about WoW without the context of “but XIV bad”
You are genuinely mental and I feel awful for you and your parents
Your whole narrative boils down to
>You are mentally ill
Mine is
>Look at the overwhelming evidence that your niche, life support game which only exists because of WoW is played solely by weebs, pedophiles and troons
I genuinely don't care about Final Fantasy at all. I just pity you freaks because you've created some kind of victim complex over WoW players laughing at your japshit 10 years ago. It's pathetic.
FFXIV is unknown and the biggest news to come out of your game was drama over a high chair.
have a nice day.
Didn’t read. Your delusions and projection are not healthy for you. XIV took WoW’s number 1 spot and it mentally broke you. Break your delusions and accept the reality that all evidence points towards.
WoW doesn’t even have a million subs currently
You realise you have to credit where your stats came from otherwise they're worthless right?
>WoW doesn't even have a million subs currently
Then FFXIV must have less because in every metric it is doing far worse. It's practically dead on Steam
>on Steam
Okay and what about the rest of the platforms the game is on? The platforms that don't actively punish you for choosing to play on them like Steam does?
>It's practically dead on Steam
Okay, now let's see WoW's Steam metrics.
WoW isn't on Steam because Battlenet is a long time, widely used launcher.
I've never even heard of the Square Enix launcher lmao.
Fact is, FFXIV doesn't even have 20k players on the biggest game launcher in the world. The games biggest youtubers are coming out and saying its terrible. It's fricking dead. Not my problem.
>The games biggest youtubers are coming out and saying its terrible. It's fricking dead. Not my problem.
but enough about WoW
>This is your mind on slantslop
Can't even argue in good faith. Waste of time. Everyone burnt out of your fomo 300 hour poorly written MSQ lmao. Terrible writing, shitty 'cutscenes', bad voice acting. What a catastrophe.
>B-but enough about WoW!!!
Final Fantasy 14 will never be talked about the way WoW is. Final Fantasy 14 will never have people flocking to classic because their childhoods were shaped by a global phenomenon.
You're stuck playing a game that is so laughably bad you're too insecure to tell anyone you know IRL that you play it out of the fear that they'll google it and see that it's a glorified chat room for future child rapists.
>Final Fantasy 14 will never have people flocking to classic because their childhoods were shaped by a global phenomenon.
And that's good thing. Blizztroons really have to learn how to let go and move on instead of paying Blizzard for the privileged of a fricking reheated product AT FULL PRICE and asking for seconds.
>YOU’RE COPING STOP IT STOP IT DONT MAKE FUN OF MY DEAD FURRY GAME
Majority of players are not on Steam dummy, it was out for many years before on the Enix launcher ( the only place you could get the game), and console.
No one plays it on Steam, just like no one plays WoW on Steam
>it’s practically dead on steam
Uhhhh…. Sis?????
>spends thread shitting on WoW
>one mention of XIV still sends him into a frenzy and rush to defend the game he was just shitting on
Genuine Stockholm syndrome
i don't actually give a frick, i don't play that erp chatroom game
i just want to terrorise your threads so you are unable to discuss your troon-ridden activisionslop
i'm succeeding btw
This is a WoW thread that you are shitting up. There’s two XIV threads that I see on the catalogue right now that are completely on topic. Guess you are a bit slow lmao
i can see why you don't like xiv, reading is clearly not your strong suit
Even the jannies know you freaks are obsessed pests. Imagine personally hating WoW because you blame it for stealing your games spotlight. It's a game bro take a shower.
Take your meds schizo. Again, I don't play that ERP chatroom. Furthermore, XIV is not a game, it's a movie.
This is some mad projection. WoWtroons literally cannot help themselves from obsessing about XIV and how it toppled their throne
Kek you want this to be true so hard. Meanwhile your game has been haemorrhaging players from a content drought in the worst expansion to date and your next expansion is some gay Island holiday shit
I can’t wait to see you saying this in 5 years when the games population kept growing
You've been brigading Ganker with daily wow hate threads for over 2 years now. Everyone knows it. I don't understand why you think your weak attempts at gaslighting are working.
Difference is I don't spend my time viciously defending a game made by people who can't speak English and who lack humanity because 'heckin japan'
??? I didn’t even make this thread nor have I ever posted an MMO thread. This is some grade A delusion my man are you alright?
>i never post on mmo threads ever except this one time!
how very convenient
you are lying, you know you are lying, i know you are lying, and yet you keep lying
>ITS ALL ONE PERSON OUT TO GET ME THERES NO WAY THAT MULTIPLE PEOPLE COULD HATE WOW
This is what WoW losing its #1 spot does to a MF
>I've never posted in an MMO thread
Kek try harder than that
>>I’ve never posted in an MMO thread
I didn’t say that. Try reading the post again LMAO
Embarrassing
he's mazed boys you can't reason with him.
>YoshiP praises WoW at every opportunity. FinalSlop14 wouldn't exist without WoW.
Reminds me of that one WoW dev who praised the King Thordan EX fight, then got fired over it from the company.
source?
he's not gonna give you a source because he's bullshitting you
dragonflight goes out of its way to suck XIV's wiener why would they fire a developer over seeing what its competitor is doing right?
pedrothedagger.blogspot.com/2016/03/raid-boss-dissection-ffxiv-thordan.html
This is his fight analysis, I really doubt he got fired over this though.
I would love to see this as well, even the company is obsessed lmao
Nah I dont think you being fricking shit at the game killed it, the game itself being fricking shit is the culprit
Which is why FFXIV is also dogshit
>yes our game is shit but at least it's slightly better than your diarrhea
>fricking gottem
kill all mmogays
ESL is huge in that picture, no surprise there. Funny enough, this wasn't an issue in FFXIV when it came to dancer
Just never say that you specifically know this information because of a third party addon and you are fine
what type of mythics are you doing? If you're pugging sub 20's saying that try hard shit you are literally the cancer that OP is complaining about.
Are you moronic.
Are you ESL.
Did you not read the post.
Arguably it'd be four melee if there were no stat boosts at all
My static didn't give a frick about what was brought because we weren't cutting edge. Completed raids all the same
>We literally only bring ranged jobs to raids for a 1% addition to stats for a 5% total boost.
you also bring them for the better/extra mitigation over melee/caster but that's only actually relevent if you're doing shit week 1 or ultimates
>Funny enough, this wasn't an issue in FFXIV when it came to dancer
it kind of was, the whole reason why fflogs has a bunch of different ways it tracks dps is because of classes like dancer
fflogs just invented a 5th way to frame your dps to make parsetrannies feel good about themselves
The design choices Jeff Kaplan made before it was even released that became more pronounced with each expansion until it completely replaced all the stuff that was actually good.
Unfortunately, it was and always will be LFG/LFR. Any sort of automation takes away the sense of community and makes the dungeons/raids more "accessible" (aka worse players will join and play)
classic proved this wrong already, going on a general chat and spamming looking for a tank doesn't bring people closer, that's a idiotic and boomer take, we are not in the 2000s anymore grandpa
your social anxiety is inhibiting gameplay.
The problem is a culture problem, and the culture was permanently altered by LFG/LFR. The only way to go back to how it was before its introduction would be creating a new game/series without it.
People who want to play a "buffer" class are admitting that they want to be carried through dungeons and raids
Buffing classes are just fun. Just ask anyone who played Astrologian when they drew The Balance card
mmos are an out dated model and need to be shitcanned
Me
>What killed WoW
i think it was the players unironically
WOW IT'S REALLY HARD TO FIGURE OUT WHEN AND HOW WOW DIED YOU GUYS
I started in TBC and quit the first month of cata. The leveling bored the frick out of me. I don't know how people enjoy
>kill 10
>collect 10
>click on 3 things
quests. WoW has the worst fricking quest system ever.
Thank the initial focus group testers for that. Too many people complained that they didn't know that to be doing.
When that ultimately didn't work for them they'd try again.
even if it dropped to 2m it wouldnt be dead
the later xpacs killed it instead of dethroning it
Could it be the expansion that began the practice of adding any convenience-crap the devs could think of until the game was so fundamentally changed it was subsequently completely overhauled in the very next expansion? Players basically became capeshit heroes when reaching lvl 60 in wrath where most classes/specs could suddenly easily pull 3-4 mobs of equal level and dispose of them in seconds without breaking a sweat, because everything outside of 'm-muh endgame content' had been made trivial in the name of rushing everyone into raiding which made the game feel even more hollow.
NUUHHH it must have been the players themselves.
>That spike in people joining and playing WoD
What happened?
Lots of people were hyped for WoD because it seemed like it'd be a return to proper Warcraft shit with orcs and warfare, as well as there being a return of some major lore characters. The first part was especially important since MoP's aesthetics often didn't align with Warcraft
the cinematic for that expansion was fukken sick, people got hyped
We were promised fun open world content and orcs
Instead we got afking in garrisons all day and getting one shotted by MM hunters in Ashran
And WoD came after MoP which had the longest gap between final patch and next expansion.
>we've added 500 more members to our crew so the content drought of mist doesn't happen again!
>wod have even less content than mist
>cut two zones
>cut both cities and replace them with 3 buildings at the pop zone
>cut garrison locations
>cut follower customization
>cut class accessories
>cut four battlegrounds
>cut the shattrah raid
>CUT THE IRON HORDE RAID IN THE IRON HORDE EXPANSION
>cut this
>but then you have the shitty world bosses of legion
None of this shit matters except for the raids.
everything matters in a mmorpg
having less things to do = you get bored faster of playing raids
Nothing you listed is good content it doesnt add anything meaningful. Just a waste of development time
>you listed
i didn't listed shit
anyway if you think all that doesn't matter wod is your favorite expansion
It is way better than Legion, bfa and shadowlands when it comes to mandatory bullshit yeah. Wod is light on actual good content obviously
delusional
You dont play
raiders are a small portion of the playerbase, developing the game around them is a mistake
Yes we should design the game for people that don't want to engage with the only actual fun part. We should keep making dog shit single player zones that are outclassed by literally any open world game
yes if you don't put effort into developing the content, the content sucks, good job figuring that out
moron
Wow has never made good casual content despite a literal decade of trying. They should stop wasting their time yes
they have never tried
Nobody in the world is passionate about this dogshit. Not the people that make it nor the people that play it. How are you going to make good content?
>Still the best expansion in terms of quality.
Holy frick how did WoD do it? 3 of the best raids of all time, amazing class design, fun PvP gearing, garrison convenience and more
WoD+ NEEDS to happen.
this but unironically, wod was the intersection point between old wow and nuwow, before they turned the game into a wagecage simulator with M+
wod literally introduced a mobile app to the game, frick off
this was hilarious. and then of course the excuse was
>THEY NEED TIME TO TRAIN!! OUR NEW EMPLOYEES JUST ARENT TRAINED YET
overwatch was also stealing away the senior devs that would have trained the new people too lol
wasn't it still project titan at that point? understandable they'd do that if they were going to release a new MMO
People were hyped about muh orcs and going to not-outland, which for some reason was misinterpreted as a sort of 'return to the roots' direction for the game.
It was anything but that, unsurprisingly.
they went hard on marketing during WoD
remember the fricking gorehowl on top of a crushed taxi in times square or wherever the frick?
Marketing push and a killer trailer got people hyped, but it wasn't as popular as you think it was. If you look at the chart, the subscriber numbers were the same as MoP's launch. Why MoP slumped so hard near the end was due to SoO patch lasting over a year. That's a very long time without any new content. In one year vanilla got most of its content.
It's fake. The influx of new subs is due to the Warcraft film promotion where you'd get a voucher for a free 30 month trial and some cosmetic shit.
frick I meant 30 day trial
see
this is the only correct answer. WoW was already a laughing stock by MoP
If that's when the movie released, they were literally giving the whole game + 1 month subscription on movie theaters when you went to see the movie, the mother of a classmate worked on one and gave us like a couple of these codes for each.
What makes me laugh, the Mists of Pandaria was a clear move to pander to the Chinese audience and we know how that turned out.
>Pander to new audience because money
>Neglect and ignore your Western audience who made you what you are
>Western audience begins to leave
>Chinese tell you to frick off and cut off all relations
>Western audience has been in deep decline since
>Try to pander back to core audience
Too little too late.
>ashran is fun
>ruins it by adding player limits
>all the cut content
it would have been a miracle if it didn't die there
Pre nerf heroic dungeons in Cata was the highest point in the game for dungeon running.
.
What about latest expacs?
Wrath really did frick the game
wrath was the peak of the game. shame blizzard couldn't stop activision from taking them over like a parasite
>wrath was the peak of the game
hello wrath baby
tbc chad, actually. wrath was the peak of the game.
which part
the saturday morning questing?
the neutered "heroics"?
the homogenized classes?
the rehashed first tier?
the lazy as frick 2 room third tier?
the death of attunements and natural progression throughout an expansion in favor of seasonal catchup welfare epic heroics?
the mtx cash shop?
the introduction of queued pve content?
>Introduced group finder
>First paid mount
>First welfare epics
>Heirlooms
>Major content drought
>"Accessible" end game content
>Absurdly overpowered meta classes
>Influx of casual pandering created generation of literal babies who force Cata to dumb itself down
Yeah, wrath was the... peak...
>wrath was the... peak...
correct. as proven by the sub numbers
How did the peak permanently ruin the game?
It seem that you think that Wrath made the game easier? While Naxx re-release was fine difficulty-wise it was Ulduar that murdered the casual guilds.
Cataclysm on release was insanely difficult. Normal players couldn't complete normal dungeons, not to mention the over-tuned heroics. Raids were also on a higher level than anything in Wrath.
All I did was post things that wrath provably introduced, yet still get blamed on cata for some reason.
The sad thing is that even in Wrath many players were incapable of not getting everyone killed on Thaddeus. The average player has always been and always will be fricking awful.
it's a great shame that many people never experienced raiding in Pandaria
I quit during the ICC drought like many others and boy I'm glad that I got talked into trying pandas, I've never had this much fun playing pve
of course pandas had its faults but class design was on point and I can fight you for it
>Class design
They literally gutted every single class
you probably played a different game, or a wrong class
did you really, honestly miss muh talent trees?
Everyone did. They literally drip fed them back in new expansions because that sentiment lasted a literal decade.
and even that was way too little way too late.
>n-no u...
concession accepted.
>concession accepted.
>resorts to jaking off
typical anti-wrath babby
Says the homie who pulled a meme straight out of 2010 because he couldn't contend with words LMAO
MoP really was the last good expansion despite all the blatant china pandering. i miss the mage rotations like you wouldn't believe
because once you reach the peak you can only go downhill from there. again as proven by cata onward
But the downhill trend started in Wrath. Black person, you're kinda outing yourself as a moron. Par for the course for wrathbabies ig
and it also peaked in wrath. double Black person. do i have to keep schooling your african ass?
I see. You've lost the argument, so you're resorting to semantics and recycling my insults. Very interesting.
>WoD sees unprecedented spike in players
>that instant dropoff
I think that was the first time a lot of people felt slighted by Blizzard. WoD appealed to old players and people who had played WC1/2/3. It was pure nostalgia bait and pushed out the door to line up with the release of the Warcraft movie. What a shame that it was so godawful, I think they ruined any good will they had garnered in one expansion.
>2010
>WotLK
>FFXI got Aht Urghan
>survival crafting trash and zombie game trash hadnt invaded the vidya market yet
>normalgays hadnt gotten into gaming yet
>smart phones hadnt really taken off yet, still not that many normies on the internet
>social media was still in its infancy
man that was a good year
i feel like that graph applies to everything, not just WoW or video games
debatably, 2010 was the last good year for video games in general even though 2007 was the defacto beginning of the end of everything good.
These fricks
What really gets the nogging jogging, these guys who made WoW their one game and no-lifed it, made a career out of Doomposting the game, and are surprised their Doomposting had an effect and turned people away from the game. Now they're acting all innocent and pretending they had no part to play and were just casual by-standers.
Asmongold is the absolute worst for this, but Bellular is not far behind him.
Yeah man if only the greedy internet men hadnt told the plebs what to think. How would anyone think wow is a bad game
Assmongoler defence force has arrived, the ADF if you will, or the BGDF to give it's true name Bald Goblin defence force
Why are you just repeating what a Bald Goblin said?
Why are you unable to form your own opinions but are capable of only parroting what another said?
Why are you an eceleb worshipping bald enjoyer?
Do you seriously think that these aren't issues that anyone that plays the game can see?
When the teacher asked you, little Timmy what you wanted to be when you grew up to think the answer would be
>"T-teacher I want to be the mouthpiece for an Ecelebrity!"
>"Oh Timmy that's Wonderful and how much will that pay?"
>"T-teacher what do you mean money? I'll do it all for FREE"
When is the last time you pugged a raid?
You should like a genuine teenager or a moron. Who cares if he's repeating what Asmon said? He has a point.
great job not addressing any of the points made you giga moron
How are his takes bad? 99% of the playerbase feels this. The top 1% literally doesn't matter and shouldn't be catered to
Max, the guy that made a challenge to do hard raids in Final Fantasy blind but then cheated and looked up fights because he couldnt do them?
Max is American please understand
buff classes short circuit damage meter trannies. just look at every instance of buffs being viable in xiv. noooo you cant bring dancer thats le illegal. nooo your parsey is padded by ninja's trick attack. noooooooooo ast gave you the damage card ban his damage report!!!
Can someone explain this image to me? I haven’t played WoW since Wrath
It's literally the most demanded spec in Mythic+ history.
celebrities shilling it on television. also more autism than anybody should ever tolerate in one location.
Raids. Endgame should have been exclusively dungeons and PvP with the occasional world boss event that's just for fun (no gear drops, just cosmetics).
Activision
During WotLK they fully implemented their strategy in game direction
The GMs were no longer allowed to really interact with players. it was aimed at drawing as much cash as possible
Game design went from 'exploration' to 'loot threadmill'
Blizzard
It's been so many years that it gets hard to remember every bad decision and development to be honest
oh my fricking god that image
A few things. The game changed from being a social experience to being a chase. More and more people became interested in trying to be "first". This resulted in the devs trying to make more content to keep up with demand, but they were already being put on the backburner so that Blizzard could make their next big thing. Eventually the devs no longer had talent to make anything and the aging engine didn't even allow them to do anything interesting anyway. So they made the game a liberal mouth piece instead. There you go, WoW was dead the second that Wrath of the Lich King came out, it was only a slow slope after that.
Blizzard incompetence, Activision incompetence, shitty player base, troons... etc.
It's just the the typical cancer you run into when you pug m+"s. If at all possible just do them with friends and you avoid that shit all together.
It's hardly the typical cancer when Aug is the most desired spec in the game. You'll be treated like royalty even if you're subpar at playing it, given the spot over any other non-Aug player by default. The messages in the OP is what is not remotely typical.
Pretty sure aug evoker is the first of its kind in this aspect. Not even disc priest with PW:I was like this
Being 20 years old
Death by a thousand cuts.
Honestly you rarely see concern trolling that good nowadays.
the community
every shit design choice could be overlooked if the community wasn't a bunch of moronic tryhards
>kill boss
>always have some moron complaining about lowest dps
>lowest dps gets kicked despite doing mechanics better than homosexual complaining
>group falls apart
then we have layering/sharding which makes a mmorpg not a mmorpg . shitty limited player content and troony mode
the endless dogshit changes blizz made every expansion which honestly really started with legion, while m+ was good the legendary/AP system was cancer that plagued WoW til dragonflight which did away with borrowed power but im at a point where i dont give a frick to play retail ever again unless i can push mythic raid content with 10 ppl max
unironically 10 man heroic raiding in cata/mop was the best change because it was much easier to put together and retain 10 strong players to clear content consistently with 0 loot drama rather than relying on 20-25 morons to get shit done while retaining the good raiders was cancerous as frick
unless you've been in an officer role you have no fricking idea how cancer it is to deal with all the bullshit and drama that comes with managing and retaining a roster of 20/25/40 morons week by week
>complaining about running MULTIPLAYER CONTENT in a multiplayer game
i advice you to play street fighter or some other genre that isn't a mmorpg moron
He's right though, 10 man is ideal and I have no idea why WoW didn't make it standard after the smashing success of Karazhan all the way back in TBC. It's much simpler and easier to manage a 10 man roster than it is a 20 man or higher roster, and it should've been made the standard raid size a long time ago.
where did i ever state i wanted to play solo you dumbfrick illiterate Black person?
You have a problem, all that anon said was it's easier to manage a 10 man raid group than 20-25 raid group, which it is and if you're doing it every week you really will get burned out having to deal with 20-25 tards, rounding them up for a raid.
i'm not the one playing a mmorpg and complaining about other players
do you also cry when you play a racing game and there's cars?
???
Blizzard by making every expansion more themepark than the previous one.
>WoW cultist has to bring up XIV bad out of literal nowhere
Pottery
I said MMORPGs in general, anon. But yes, XIV is the most mediocre out of the bunch in terms of design and gameplay mechanics. The way people can spend staggering amounts of time and have nothing to show for it is insane.
In WoW I can spend a weekend farming and have my tier set by monday and start the week with a new set of passives for whatever I want to do.
Want to know how I know you haven’t played a single MMO but WoW?
Around 1.5k days subbed in XIV, around 3k hours in destiny 2, Tera since manaya's core, hundreds of hours of private servers in Ragnarok online, and maybe half a year subbed in World of warcraft, among other many games I didn't bother mentioning
Yes anon, go ahead.
If you cannot keep a tank alive that is not even pressing any buttons you are the problem. It is a lvling dungeon u scrub
hilarious
Stop leeching in lvling dungeons just cuz youre a healer
>guy queues tank
>doesnt have ironfur on hotbar
>never uses it
>takes huge damage
>"uh this is the healer's. hey healer can you heal correctly"
>healer literally doing max possible healing
>"no no this can't be my fault. time to kick."
>goes on forum
>"healers are so bad stop leeching"
Homie it is a lvling dungeon. A dps can tank a lvling dungeon
youre delusional
You are a bad healer they were right to kick a slacker
A DPS can tank a leveling dungeon up to ~25. The level scaling is so fricked that you become pathetically weak from 30 until about 50, at least last time I played. A level 40 healer's spells barely move their parties health bars in leveling dungeons, but if you enter one at 15 on any role, you're a fricking god.
Anons, please. It's not complicated.
>XIV out of nowhere
WoW cultists are genuinely insane. Is this what taking the #1 mmo spot does to them?
>half the posts here mention xiv
>out of nowhere
Stop with your victim mindset, it fools nobody.
>half the posts
>Maybe 4 out of 95 mention them
WoW cultists can’t count without an addon helping them LMAO
>calls others cultists
FF14 players engage with any other setting challenge (IMPOSSIBLE!)
>cries that others are cultists
>engages in delusional cultist behavior to protect his precious furry game
Hilarious
>WoW touches the bald man and dies
>XIV careens upwards to avoid him at all costs and lives
WoWbros….
>lower dps than healer and tank
This picture is probably skewed, but from the little I know of WOW you're doing something EXTREMELY wrong to not outdamage a healer, as in not attacking at all, at best a healer can do like 1/15th of the worst dps on the group
>not attacking at all
you are right you don't know shit
the boomers of gaming everybody, they are as dumb as a brick and it is beautiful
I really hate the idea of m+ honestly, i don't like infinitely scaling bullshit, just give me one hard difficulty so i can just finish the fricking game.
The Buck Breaker
wow killed wow. the lore shit the bed after WOTLK. it should have ended there.
Asmon can't stand modern wow, because he knows don't stand in the fire mechanics are too tough for his family
wiener ass dood I hate this game dood AARGH dog shit game dood wienersuckers thanks for the 5 dollars donation thank you so much watch me get this mount WTF dood god ass game dood give me the mount already OH MY GAWD dood farming this mount for years already man Coldy got it like in one week dood mcconnel what you think of the game? what bad? no dood best mmo right now expansion is LITTY dood if I killed my mom? you banned I don't need to explain it to you stupid b***h you banned get out of my chat wiener ASS another wipe dood nooo who didn't do the mechanic? it's a two mechanic boss you just don't die you know what you kicked from the group dood I will not have my time wasted here dood get out of here anyway was really fun to play 10 minutes of World of Warcraft time to react for the rest of the stream
Livewatch thread is up to make fun of troonyflight's final patch reveal
Time.
Nothing lasts forever, my son.
I re-subbed after 10 years and it's still shit. Don't bother.
Over 10 years*
>level 31
opinion discarded
Anon he has mounts that you could only get at level cap, that’s clearly an alt you dumb motherfricker
i don't give a shit what some washed-out boomer that got filtered by modern leveling has to say
See
Those are TBC gladiator mounts you moronic bootlicker, post-squish TBC level cap puts you at level 30.
>those are mounts you get for doing endgame PvP
Yeah, which is at level cap
READ you fricking inbred gorilla monkey READ
>TBC
>TBC
>TBC
>TBC
>TBC
Holy frick I hit cap. I already posted a pic doing pvp at cap.
oh my fricking god you are the blackest gorilla monkey i have ever interacted with
do you understand when a new expansion is released more levels are added yes? that means you are no longer capped once an expansion is released. how many times has that happened since TBC? how are you having such a hard time understanding such a simple concept? are you an actual caveman?
YOU DO UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IMAGE IS THE SAME CHARACTER DOING PVP AT MAX LEVEL?
What a fricking moron lmao, obviously this gay doesn't know how the game works and is talking out of his ass, pathetic
Nah I hit max with 2 character after a while and even tried pvp. All was shit.
Wtf happened here? Why is everything so rounded now?
This is the first WoW expansion where I legitimately do not care a single bit about the story.
Even in Shadowlands I gave sort of a damn about Garrosh, Uther, and Arthas.
Trash can game ended with legions plot and they someone how think this game needs to keep going. Mofo cant just build a new game they have to milk it until its fully unprofitable to keep up.
Modern Blizzard couldn't make a WoW 2 or a new MMO
M+, very rare loot, vault that makes you run content you don't want to do so you can gamble for an item you're never going to get
>WoW owned by Microsoft
>XIV coming to xbox
What would a WoW x XIV collab look like?
This is the ultimate truth that WoWtards will never accept, their characters are not deep
this anon was later found dead in his apartment, half-rotted because nobody ever contacted his friendless troon ass
cause of death: copium overdose
Don't care bro I just want to see Y'shtola repeatedly stabbed in the throat until she's clawing at her throat gurgling as blood stains her fur red.
this happens every expansion and she comes back alive as if nothing happened minutes later
these are the people telling you XIV has a good story btw
Why?
Poorly written cringe furshit character. Go look in any FFXIV thread and the degenerates are losing their minds over her. The cognitive dissonance is real.
I also wouldn't be opposed to seeing the elves getting their eyes gouged out with a red hot poker.
>cat girls are furshit
>vulperas and worgen are fine though
Your mind on WoW writing. She’s not praised for her writing she’s praised because she’s hot you fricking moron
She's not hot. I don't see how you can find pixels sexually attractive. Of a catgirl no less.
>Worgen
Werewolves have been a staple of fantasy for centuries lmao WoW didn't invent werewolves
>worgen aren’t furry
Just ignore the model update which blatantly made them more furry like.
Also I like how you failed to address vulperas existing at all lmao
Activision plants, Disney rejects, diversity hires, the mentally ill... Basically, Californians.
I thought those kicked from the party isekai stories were moronic but god damn, people really are moronic like that.
who thought that giving full control to scalies was a good idea?
>play game with min-maxing autist who kick you for missing a rotation even if your out performing them
>game sucks dick
>play same game with irl friends who dont give a shit about performances
>peak comfy and fun at the “cost” of everything taking 3x longer
you need real friends bro
>Throne of the Tides M+
Frick off
I thought blizzard said that the extra damage brought by the evoker would get directed to the latter in order to avoid such situations
Your fault for playin MMOs, shits autistic.
wrath of the lich king did
>another my troon game is better than your troon game thread
Fricking ban MMOtribalists from Ganker already.
You're all a bunch of fricking morons lmao
yes, i play MMOs
Obviously, WoW killed WoW. Behold, the final boss for the incredible Dragonflight expansion. I have no idea how anyone who still plays these games can claim they have anything even resembling self respect.
you’d have to be literally moronic to think the last boss of dragonflight isnt murozond
lmao murozond was a fricking cataclysm dungeon boss
and?
Who cares about the story? It’s all gonna be dogshit either way. That recent cutscene where the villain showed the most bare minimum amount of personality despite him still just being le evil bad man who’s gonna die in 1 patch has bucks jumping for joy treating him as the best villain in years and comparing him to Arthas in terms of complexity. It really goes to show how deprived of even middle school level character writing WoWbucks are.
And also the fact that Arthas isn’t even a deep character despite him being held on a pedestal
>.2
>final patch
didn't WoW expansions usually have 3 content patches?
Warlords of Draenor and Shadowlands didn’t.
This is a fud post right? They didn't actually make fyrakk the big bad out of nowhere I though DF was going well?
>your game made ten gorillion dollars last fiscal quarter instead of eleven gorillion, it's fricking dead and over pack it up
MMOgays are fricking mentally ill. Why do they behave like this?
The funny part about these threads is that the majority of the mad defenders of both games are both WoWgays, just one side are comprised of the ones who are so fed up with blizzard they just want to see it fail.
It’s literally WoWgays arguing with other WoWgays
Lmfao. I'm glad you can finally admit you don't actually have any players in your game to defend it, XIV cultist.
thanks for proving my point
Why wouldn't I? I fully agree with you.
Nobody gives a shit about Yoshit-Piss's dead VN with ERP endgame, naturally that means nobody will defend it.
The only people left are WoW fans and beaten wives who can't move on from the ex that dumped them without watching him get killed or become homeless because they're simply that mindbroken.
>nobody cares about XIV
>describes WoW
???
The least delusional WoWbuck
growing up
why does it still take eons to level in classic even with joyous journeys
Part of Classic WoW was the journey to max level anon. The shift to focusing on end game content ruined that. Speed running and Wikis ruined that. You missed out on the days when hitting 60 after months of playing was exciting.
if it took you more than a month to hit level cap on classic you were mentally moronic, sorry you had to learn this way
The only reason to take longer than 4 weeks to hit max level was that you didn't have friends to help you and you were on a completely unbalanced server between horde and alliance, in which you chose to be alliance for some inane reason outside of Paladin. So you were constantly ganked and unable to level once you got past level 30.
>supposed to be a massive role playing game
>basically a live DnD world
>everybody is on their own
>there is no sense of danger
>nobody is in a party if they arent forced to do it
>if they are in a party 90% of them are autistic spergs
Retail WoW is dead.
Why is a thread about WoW got WoW players complaining about a completely separate MMO, like it has any bearing on the quality of their own MMO?
Is this a common thing that happens?
WoW is king of MMOs and that matters because there is no point in playing a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER game that has no players.
So why are they complaining about a separate MMO? I don't follow your logic
Calling his delusions logic is incredibly generous, anon
Because they feel like there is nothing that can be improved and that it was simply FF14 that stole the player base and that it happened for NO REASON. If 14 didn't exist, than WoW would still be king of the MMO.
damn this gay really posting graphs from a decade ago
>post information

Runescape was really that small in 04? Playing it felt like everyone I knew and half the world were there

>this goblin living in a cave of his own filth
>calling anyone else a mentally ill manchild
I mean, he isn't wrong here.
The WoW community does behave like a bunch of mentally ill manchildren largely due to Blizzard allowing that segment of the community fester and grow due to lack of actual GMing.
Didn't ask. Still better than the cesspit XIV calls moderation, they let troons textfrick each-other in broad daylight in the middle of their capital cities but you get a timeout if you dare to tell someone they're not playing the game right.
>Didn't ask.
Don't care. I'm pointing out he's not wrong. At all.
Except the entire premise is flawed because it is simply not true, see
and
This shut-in moron is advocating for people to talk even less to each-other than they already do because their money might get stolen at any point for any reason.
>Except the entire premise is flawed
>because random anons posted some random text

> If you think your comment may make another person feel even a little uncomfortable, it would be best to refrain from saying it.
>something that may be intended as a "joke" between friends could in fact make the other person feel uncomfortable
End yourself you dishonest prick, this shit is literal mental asylum levels of safe space.
Have you never worked a job in your entire life this is basic b***h corporate speech?
Have you? Legal documentation shouldn't be left vague and open to interpretation.
>legal documentation
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Any corporate code of conduct will be same gay shit about respect, accountability, sensitivity, empathy, etc and every code of conduct will always have some verbiage that it is explicitly not tied to legislation for example activision blizzard has this notice plastered on basically every page:
Remember, the Code of Conduct is not intended to prohibit or infringe on an employee’s rights to discuss wages, hours, working conditions, or other terms and conditions of employment or to otherwise engage in protected concerted activity under Section 7 of the National Labor Relations Act.
And how is that any different in WoW?
WoW's is all bark and no bite, it's simply not enforced.
It’s player enforced. If you have enough people you can pass judgement on any player no matter what they have done. It’s the ultimate safespace where you can ban people who haven’t even said anything that even remotely breaks TOS but you just don’t like them
WoWs system is entirely automated, if enough people report you, you're banned, it doesn't matter whether or not you actually broke any rules.
You are the type of person that wants this
>"Game A is much better than game B because game B does X"
>point out that game A also does X
>"Yeah well you're the reason X exists in the first place"
alrighty
Nobody types out erp shit in public, sounds like your own gay fantasy
no they don't
public ERPing would get you an easy ban as long as someone bothers to report your ass
they even handed a few bans to people for having links to shit like lewd RP cards on their search info at some point. As long as someone bothers to fill the report they do crack down on shit like that. An avatargay from /vg/ spammed Black person Black person Black person in shout chat during a summer event and he didn't get a ban, not even a 3 day, because no one bothered to report him
>treat them like adults
>will ban you for hurting someone’s feelings like you’re in kindergarten
lmao
>tell someone how to play the game
>get banned
adults btw
I thought I would get put in gay baby gaol for calling people abortions in frontlines but nothing happened
I have however, gotten messages that my reports were looked into when I report gays for doing shit like rescue griefing in bozja
I call people useless bots in RWs and frontlines more than any other content, still no ban
probably because 80% of the “people” in frontlines are literally botting/afk for the daily xp and the other 20% never read chat because the vast majority of matches no one will type a single thing in chat
What you don’t read
>Onsal Hakair. Coordinates: 24.7x 19.1y <se.6>
How else are you supposed to know you should beeline for some shitty b rank mode and get pinched for nothing god why are “shotcallers” so moronic
why lie on the internet when it’s so obvious
>you’re lying because it doesn’t fit my narrative
If you actually played either game you would know that it’s true
ive played both games and never once been banned or muted in either but i know what it takes to get your account actioned against
Then you would know that people mass reporting you will get you auto muted you moron.
People have done it on stream to get people banned mid BG
in xiv you can and will get banned for hurting one single persons feelings (completely subjective)
that will never happen in wow
Ok then why have I not been banned after being reported dozens of times?
>this will never happen in wow
Oh you’re baiting
because you’re obviously just lying to defend the hugbox
wow has terrible moderation at this point too (mostly because they refuse to pay for actual gms and just resort to auto moderation) but it isnt homosexual candyland
>you’re lying because it doesn’t fit my narrative
lmaoooooo ok kiddo
go join pf and tell someone they suck and are doing bad dps
let me know if you aren’t banned tomorrow
I called someone a bot who was doing nothing just yesterday in a RW.
I’ve told a dude in a CLL run that his DPS is the lowest so he should stop talking shit, he said I was breaking tos and that he’s reporting me
Not banned or warned. But keep that copium up
yea we all believe you
gonna go in pf and timestamp a screenshot of you telling someone their dps is low?
Even if I still had them you will still just deny it so I won’t even bother arguing with you anymore. Just hold that L and reply with some more denial for me please
why would I deny something you have physical proof of?
pretty telling that your whole story comes crumbling down when I ask you to back it up with actions
>TRUST ME BRO
lol
lethargic behaviour is the bannable offense btw, in the first situation the other guy is the one who's supposed to get banned
in wow you can get banned if someone gets their guild to mass report you for literally any reason because blizzard doesn't even bother hiring pajeet interns anymore, they just assume you're guilty if X amount of reports come in
you will never get banned by mass reporting, you’ll get chat muted though and that’s obviously moronic but it has nothing to do with the conversation of which games mods treat their playerbase like adults (neither)
>you will never
I don't believe any statements like this when it comes to online enforcement.
it’s just true, mass reporting cannot end up in an account ban because the auto moderation doesn’t ban accounts it only restricts chat
are you using some weaselwordy shit, where you say bans aren't automated because they're merely getting "suspended"? this feature has been abused by streamers and trolls for years
you cannot and will not be stopped from playing the game by auto moderation
it can and will mute your account after a bunch of reports troll or otherwise
one of my friends got banned in SL for listing groups for a rare spawn that dropped a horse and his appeal got denied.
shut the frick up
yea I’m sure that’s why he got banned
he definitely wasn’t buying gold or botting or some shit and was too embarrassed to tell anyone
https://old.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/of7pft/you_can_and_will_get_banned_for_hosting_fallen/
https://old.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/oejifr/silenced_24h_for_hosting_wait_group_for_fallen/
have a nice day
yea man we all totally believe your friends story because he posted it on reddit
I heard that happened to some other guy too!! they must have banned him on accident
>nothing has ever happened nor will ever happen
remove yourself from the genepool asap dishonest piece of shit blizzard shill
all I know is nobody that’s ever been banned for gold buying or botting has ever admitted it
>didn't even bother opening the image containing the GM warning that specifically mention the premade group finder
holy shit stop typing and start slitting your wrists
you mean the one where it says he got silenced not banned? stupid Black person
>moving the goalposts
and make sure you do it vertically
auto mod wont ban you it will mute you
>my friend got banned!!!!
no he didn’t
>oh yea here’s the reddit post of people saying they got banned!!
it literally says they got muted
>stop moving the goalposts!!!!
holy moron
>it didn't happen
>actually it did happen but not exactly the way i wanted to
you know this is an mmo right? being silenced may as well be a ban unless you're some kind of subhuman who only plays queued content
read the reply chain you no brain Black person monkey
Don’t bother arguing with him, I mindbroke him so hard that he stopped arguing and retreated into complete bait territory, he’s not even trying at this point
I've botted and gold bought and not gotten banned for it. Ipso facto, you don't get banned for botting or gold buying, but, in fact, completely arbitrarily.
>used trade chat
>to answer a simple, easily googled question
>get rightfully suspended
>ADMIN ABOOOOOOOOOS
>play a game about being social
>ask other players a question
>ability to be social removed
>all that’s left is a shit game
No wonder it died
Trade channel is for trading you moron. Stop coping and take the L.
>trade chat is for trading
Ok so you haven’t played WoW either, got it
nah i haven't been in trade chat in about a decade because it's all boost spammers
selling boosts is a trade, by the way
Hilariously enough they added a new channel specifically for those
It depends on which GM you end up with, I remember getting a three day ban for telling some gay to actually do more than autoattack tier damage. But that was during Heavensward, maybe gays are different these days.
The clip you're replying to is about griefing. You don't usually get banned for griefing in WoW, but you do more often in XIV
As it should be. I will be nasty to you in chat and not give a frick but I won’t ever be the one holding up a run or afking for no reason.
“You pull it you tank it” gays are the first ones who get my BL and report
>Blizzard treats its community like mentally ill manchildren
>this is why the community is filled with mentally ill manchildren
Sounds right. Dunno why anons getting upset about it.
>I'm a streamer, I should get special privileges
t. mentally ill manchild
How much is Asmon paying you? more than a janny I hope
>mentally ill manchild thinks someone is paid to post youtube videos in a random WoW thread
checks out
>WoW is filled with mentally ill manchildren
>from the biggest WoW shill on Twitch
can't argue with that
Jews.
Well, I really think wows history would be a lot better looking if they never listened to the players. They should have made this game in a closed shell without any influence from the outside world, all the problems I think can be traced to them trying to please the players. They ruined their game and their lore all at player request.
>if they never listened to the players
t.
How am I wrong though
>this game is too easy
>okay we make it super hard for you and everyone quits
>now I hate garrosh make the story moronic and ruin his character
Just down hill from there. I see players ruining the game in that wrath/cata/mop era. Never played much after that though.
this homosexual really wrote this post as if blizzard has EVER listened to the community
Fairly analogous with the overall decline of basically everything
So which wow variant is best to play on a pirate server the most?
TBC?
Can Goblins and Gnomes become Druids yet?
Too capitalistic, too smithy, so no.
last time I played was bfa and during some dungeon I had never played I deviated slightly from the path and they insta-kicked me. everyone is a miserable c**t on there.
Private servers killed vanilla, tbc and wotlk... resulting in a mediocre classic experience.
Thank god the private Cataclysm servers is not big and notorious.
We might have a genuine and organic classic Cataclysm server when it launches.
>looking forward to a half finished expansion because the dungeons were totally hard guys believe me
this must be the mentally ill manchildren he mentioned that mainly comprise the WoW commuinty
>play HC
>reach 60 and have a ton of fun leveling/talking with people
>feel like vanilla but without the trash community of classic
>I die at 60 cause I was too happy
>feel like all the friends I made while leveling are now too far away from me
>stop the game
Just wish classic was the same experience as HC, I curse myself for dying like a moron, but HC is great if you guys want to feel that mmo social feeling again
I wonder if some sort of EQ-inspired midcore server would have an audience. On death lose inventory, gear, and a couple levels, but it's not the entire character.
The only thing worse than playing an mmo at the cost of your real life is playing an mmo at the cost of your real life AND mmo progress. I'm not down with mmos anymore and wow hc sounds even more self-destructive than any game I've ever heard of, including gacha.
horde bias. every shitty choice springs out from this
>horde has a massive advantage in getting to questing areas and moving around the world due to better/more fast travel paths and having better spawn points/flight paths/bases in basically every zone? better remake the entire world in cata so both factions are like this and then further make things easier and easier to travel around the world
>horde has a massive advantage in pvp? better constantly tweak things so that they're "balanced" so the meta can never settle
>horde has an actual disadvantage with no paladins and low player rate? better give them pretty elf paladins for no reason
>thread asking what killed WoW
>most of the discussion turns to XIV
So if I am to believe what comes out of WoWbucks own mouths, XIV killed WoW
its been 2 years of xivtrannies falseflagging as "wowbucks" and you still cant identify them?
>everyone in my mentally ill community who acts mentally ill is falseflagging
Case in point
not everybody, just you xivtrannies
stop derailing the thread with your dead VN moron
More players than WoW
>NOOO ITS ALL A SETUP OUT TO GET ME ITS ALL THE ZIV TRANNIESSS
Meds
>More players than WoW
false
Correct. Wow is at 560k while XIV is 1.2 mil. Anyone with a brain can see how dead WoW is.
Lmao when did I claim to be a bystander. I’m just here to remind you WoWmorons how delusional and irrelevant you are and I’m succeeding
>Wow is at 560k while XIV is 1.2 mil.
damn bro these numbers stink like they were pulled from the deepest, dankest reaches of your ass
Sorry but it’s the facts. XIV overtook WoW during sneedolands and continued to grow meanwhile WoW had to have a free weekend right after their expansion launch just to provide even the slight illusion that the game was doing ok
>IT'S TRUE IT JUST IS TRUST ME SIS
try not to blow a gasket
the august 10th version of weakauras has 1.3 million downloads
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/weakauras-2/files
>buggy piece of shit that needs to be installed and reinstalled over and over
and what relevance does this have to this conversation?
xivtrannies in full meltdown
>no argument
Yup. I won and you’re mindbroken. Im sorry that the superior game killed WoW but it’s just how it goes 🙂
the xivtrannies last desperate gasp for attention
>an addon that auto updates and has been in the game for a decade is an accurate representation of current player numbers
This cope is delicious
youre right, its an underrepresentation because not every single person who plays has weakauras installed and updated
you couldnt even remember you were larping as a bystander
I got banned for 3 days once for knocking players off the flight master platform in dalaran to their death in crystalsong forest far, far below during wotlk by using the controlleable abominations that exploded from a quest in Icecrown.
Pic related.
no you didn't
You know a game is shit when 90% of the discussion surrounding it is about its competitor.
its literally all just burned turbo autists who made their entire personality and self worth wow and now replaced it with xiv and want to see wow crash and burn
It takes two to tango, MMOtard.
in this case, no, it only takes 1 autist to get too attached to one game and then whip themselves up into a frenzy when they have a bad break up
One homosexual screaming into the void doesn't harvest 200 (You)s if nobody cares to oppose him.
wow is one of the most influential video games ever created along side mario, minecraft, halo and cod
ffxiv is nothing
The WoW you speak of is long dead
but at one point it existed, which is more than xivtroons can say about their game
No I’m pretty sure during that late period in Shadowlands when everyone was talking about the WoW exodus to XIV, the game was very much alive
it was never in the same company as peak wow
See
yes i read and agreed with that post less than 10 minutes ago
They lost or fired the devs that mattered. Then all the garbage devs left got rid of anything worthwhile. My warlock hasn't felt good to play since the WoD pre-patch dropped, and it was obvious that it would only ever be downhill from there. Even Cata didn't break me. WoD however... And it's been roughly the same since. Even if they hired everyone back and built WoW 2, I'd never play again. Too little, too late.
You would expect any future competition would take advantage of the zombie state of WoW but of course not.
To this day nothing can beat vanilla wow (or the censored classic for that matter). Not even modern wow can.
This is how you know someone's bad at the game — fake love for vanilla.
Classic resurgence when Wrath got hard proves you wrong. HC proves you wrong both appealcore and real release. Retail being dead proves you wrong.
There is a reason Vanillca to mid Wrath was the peak back then, and there's a reason it's literally happening again now in Classic.
Fortunately you can stay contained in the autistic Retail hell.
when did wrath get hard? wasnt no keeper yogg beaten within an hour of the patch dropping?
Of course it was, it's a 15 year old game.
The point is that most of Classic's population, the dad guilds, stopped raiding in Ulduar.
You keep making the same mistake as current Blizzard - focusing on the top 1% instead of general population.
people always say blizz is focusing on the top 1%, but honestly, what does that even mean? its not like the top 1% are showered in bonus content that filthy casuals are gatekept from. everyone gets the exact same raid, just with some tweaked mechanics and damage numbers. blizz isnt making enough content for anyone to be satisfied
the vast majority of people playing classic wotlk beat the hardest content though. pic related. sure, they didnt beat the raid in 1 hour, but they did end up beating the entire raid. compared to retail, theres 5k guilds that killed the first boss on the hardest difficulty. only 1k actually made it to the final boss. in wotlk the raid is so easy that everyone can beat it
also theres 477k fire mage parses in heroic 25 man. in normal 10 man, theres only 4k. theres 100 times as many people doing the hardest content in wotlk than there are casuals doing the casual easy difficulty. id say competitive guilds do in fact represent the playerbase
Blizzard admitted multiple times that they have to work against the addon makers.
the quote about blizz working against addon makers is mostly about timing. addons will instantly organize a mechanic (like telling person 1, 2 and 3 to move to locations x, y and z). in the past youd wait for your raid leader to yell "ok uhh who has the mechanic uhhh ok you guys go there", now you can react instantly. the mechanics happen faster now because theres no need for 1 guy to take time to organize the rest of the group.
yes, world first guilds had guys to code addons that helped them instantly organize fights. the only thing blizz did to "work against" those addon makers is adjust the timings of mechanics. blizz isnt have secret hacker duels with addon devs to make mechanics harder. they arent "wasting resources" on a secret hacker arms race. there is no epichackeraddon.exe that hacks into raid bosses and makes them stand there afk for a free boss kill
blizz focused on the end game because thats where the playerbase was. people reached max level and quit.
its easier/cheaper to add some more bosses to the end of the game than to add 200 more hours of quests too. it makes sense that they focused on endgame
judging content by the competitive guilds is a really shitty way to look at it since it doesn't represent the playerbase
ok shill
I accept your concession.
You are aware you're proving my point, right?
you said "the dad guilds, stopped raiding in Ulduar.". maybe true, but they quit the game didnt go to era or soicore
>Take into account that not everyone in era is raiding,
no but if most are raiding (and with multiple characters) thats low pop
>not everyone has even finished leveling, especially the dad guild refugees.
yeh the 1 million bots are always leveling. the world is very active with blizzards main customers
>Ironforge.pro doesn't contain data on HC realms, at all.
so where do you see the stats
>yeh the 1 million bots are always leveling. the world is very active with blizzards main customers
i thought blizzard had ties forcefully cut with china this year?
what does that have to do with bots
because only the chinese would bot with such intensity
well your wrong, no reason for anyone not to bot intensely if blizzard caters to it
>no reason for anyone not to bot intensely if blizzard caters to it
addiction enablers are the fricking worst.
there's hardly any bots leveling in era, why would there be? blizz isn't banning anyone despite what the PR blue post claim
there are far more active bots in wrath due to the active economy and GDKP mafia
every stat site is only giving a partial view, only blizz knows for sure
>there's hardly any bots leveling in era, why would there be? blizz isn't banning anyone despite what the PR blue post claim
relative to the players there are since most era raids are also gdkp
>every stat site is only giving a partial view, only blizz knows for sure
yes and they wont say for the same reason they stopped reporting sub numbers
they won't say but you can see their actions - introducing HC was a really strong indicator on how things are going, not the fact it was HC specifically, but that it affected era
also active talk of SoM2
>also active talk of SoM2
it will just release near some private server to kill it and then die 2 months later like the last time because its trash. im sure it will be spammed here though
It can be done if devs would look at vanilla and improve upon that instead.
They are incapable of such thinking. What is worse they actively resent the old content and people who made it.
Its a shame too because i think vanilla was a perfect balancing act between themepark and sandbox.
FFXIV’s parsers show your contribution to the whole party’s DPS. So if you buff someone else damage by 10% it’ll increase your DPS by 10% of that guy’s DPS on the rDPS display. Doesn’t WoW have the same thing?
yep
ffxiv doesn't have haste buffs
old age, trannies, the power of jesus christ the redeemer
M+ and mythic raiding. Both of them cranked up the autism and esport gayging to the max. Even the shittiest shitter will whine and moan whenever you do something outside of the meta/guide.
Monster Hunter and the passage of time.
Min-maxxing and gear score. The fact that people with high gear score who fricking suck donkey balls and die constantly or just can't play their class at all get brought over people with subpar gear score that can outplay the former is ridiculous.
Dungeon Finder.
>game is exploding in popularity
>centerpiece of the expansion is the franchises posterboy
>sub numbers completely flatline
wotlk was the beginning of the end, the only people who would deny it are wrathbabbies
>Riot is scared of this rotting corpse
Are you fricking kidding me?
They aren't, though.
i would laugh for eternity if fricking riot can't outcompete with WoW
If they werent they would show their game, they are probably going to do the same shit like Valorant where they officially announce it 3 months before release.
Do you realize how much of an investment an MMO is? They wouldn't make it if they were scared of WoW.
