I figured it could be a term for the special requirement evolutions, and that they would specifically add new forms to a lot of underutilized pokemon that generation.
turned out it was just a super form once per battle. eh
The world would be a better place if people stopped using Twitter tier arguments. I've gotten to the point I don't even bother responding to people when they do the usual "You like Apples, you must hate Oranges" and vice versa shtick.
thats all people do nowadays. In real fricking life I have people getting asspained when I don't like something and then saying "you probably [blah blah blah]". Its all just presumptuous bullshit that isn't an argument. Its just a way to insult someone and declare why his opinion isn't worth listening to. I fricking hate it. I fricking hate the troglodytes that are my peers. I'm 31 for frick's sake.
We need society to stop using them, then it can heal. Staying inside for a year has only made society worse, and people need to remember the internet isn't real life, and you can separate the two. Kill all social media.

I do not like any of these power up mechanics especially if they frick with the design. Oh I love Gengar but I’m stuck with an inferior version unless I use nu-Game Freak’s shitty redesign no thanks
>gimmick requires you to waste the held item of a Pokemon
It was always gay. People that liked it only liked it because their favorite got a Mega form. If mine did, I'd probably have a nicer stance on it as well.
That could be refined to just having the trainer slot in the item themselves while the pokemon gets to slot an item.
But you know. Game freak does nothing but remove their most beloved mechanics and replace them with shittier versions of the same mechanics.
The games already require 50 different items just for evolutions and form changes, mega stones unfortunately give even more item bloat and only truly help a small fraction of Pokemon, with most of them going to mons that are already great, and only a handful going to shitmons ljne Beedril and Pidgeot. I personally like a lot of the mega designs, but looking at the bigger picture, it's obvious why they would do it. Least they got rid of Z moves and Dynamax, both were garbage.
It's very obvious why they wouldn't do it.
It's more work. That's all it is. They could refine the process of getting or having a Mega Evolution. They could eliminate the need to make brand new pokemon every generation if they stuck with megas and regionals. Instead now we have different types of bloat instead of mega stones. We have food ingredients. different currencies, and whatever the frick these hats are that will probably cease to exist next game for something even stupider.
Given how they admitted they didn't have enough creativity to make a Mega Flygon, and they even admitted that in an interview, I could easily see the idea of Megas was too much pressure. At best you'd get all the mega stones brought forward, and no new Megas because they don't feel like it. The new Tera mechanic is simple because it adds a hat to a Pokemon and then has a texture effect put on them.
gamefreak realized megaevo represented additional work for them, potentially having to implement new megas for every gen and backfilling megas for previous gens. gamefreak is allergic to work and naturally jettisoned the mechanic in favor of being lazy under achievers
The fact they changed the lore to be that mega evolutions actively hurt Pokemon that do them shows yeah it's a not wanting to do additional work thing.
On the fly stat buff and possible typing change for a specific pokemon, Made them look sick and made them more viable in fights.
Which got replaced with that whole make everything big bullshit. Which made some pokemon effectively have a Mega evolution but big and the rest just made them big. Inflated their health bar and gave them stat boosts.
Then the hats happened. Since I never played S&V I don't particularly know what the hats do other than change typing and make the pokemon look fricking moronic.
The hats look moronic but I appreciate the concept of having a short "typing change" mid-battle that can make a coverage move you had become a STAB sweeper for a bit, and of course the downside of opening yourself up to another typing disadvantage. I think it's a cool concept, it's just a shame it ended up looking the way it did and being worthless for the vast majority since they always have their own typing as their innate hat unless you search out random ones in dens.
No idea but I'm glad, every single Mega Evolution design was SSJ5 Goku tier fanfic OC donut steel shit.
Now if only they stopped making gimmicks and regional variants and all this crap and just focused on the battling it would be great.
>hey, what if we add this thing to boost Pokemons power hard >by the way, we are going to give 90% of the megas to the most powerful Pokemon of each generation
Mediocre idea, awful execution, doesn't help that you needed to find some shitty stone to mega evolve them which meant most people missed out on the majority of them anyway.
Because it was awful, dropping Megas is maybe the last good choice Game Freak's done when it comes to Pokemon.
Only people who liked them were people who had so little knowledge of the combat system they probably didn't know anything about what Megas did beyond >OH MY REDDIT I CAN MAKE BLAZIKEN GO SUPER SAIYAN
Also I forgot, they were rarely used on shitmons that needed help, they gave Megas to Pokemon that were either already popular, or pseudo legendaries who's usage fell a tiny bit.
They also looked terrible, don't think there's a single mega that didn't ruin the original design.
99% of Megas looks dumb as shit, only a select few where viable in any given format and it opened the floodgates of regional gimmicks that has been plaguing pokemon ever since.
THey messed up not having megas be for lesser used pokemon, and be permanent.
A lot of pokemon that got Megas were lesser used though. Hell, a lot didn’t even see use until they got one
I don't believe this is true, but I do not know enough about how clouds are made to dispute it.
That's just evolution anon. Dunsparse and Stantler just got new cross gen evos this gen
Dudunsparce is a professionally made shitpost and the funniest thing GF has ever done.
I figured it could be a term for the special requirement evolutions, and that they would specifically add new forms to a lot of underutilized pokemon that generation.

Mega Evolutions were moronic and should have never been added in the first place. It's powerlevel homosexualry of the worst kind.
I bet you liked Gigantamaxing and your shitty hats.
>I hate hotdogs
>Oh, I bet you like burgers
It's more
>You hate hotdogs? I bet you like Feces.

Dilate, redditors

no, those are even worse
The hats are the only ones that brought something of actual utility, changing types.
Some Pokemon become turbo-busted just by changing their typing.
>gimmick requires you to waste the held item of a Pokemon

Gamefreak abandons every feature because if they didn't then every game would have to be bigger and better than the last.
Instead now every game is worse than the last.
I hated Mega Evolution, it was the minute Pokemon jumped the shark.
The games already require 50 different items just for evolutions and form changes, mega stones unfortunately give even more item bloat and only truly help a small fraction of Pokemon, with most of them going to mons that are already great, and only a handful going to shitmons ljne Beedril and Pidgeot. >we're lazy, Please understand that we don't want to work
Frick that. Frick them.
They've phoned in everything else, it should be no surprise when they do it for the sake of not wanting to bother with more designs.
gamefreak realized megaevo represented additional work for them, potentially having to implement new megas for every gen and backfilling megas for previous gens. gamefreak is allergic to work and naturally jettisoned the mechanic in favor of being lazy under achievers
XY & ORAS are peak Pokemon
everything else is completely optional.
XY and ORAS are when pokemon when to shit, dumbass.
The fact they changed the lore to be that mega evolutions actively hurt Pokemon that do them shows yeah it's a not wanting to do additional work thing.
What was the point of Mega Evolutions?
I never even used 'em.
To make an easy mode game become a journalism mode game. Hell, XY throws a Mega Lucario at you and basically tells you "Here, you won the game."
On the fly stat buff and possible typing change for a specific pokemon, Made them look sick and made them more viable in fights.

they just go with a shitty new gimmick every gen since mega evos
and they're all gay
pokemon is gay
and most megas are un-necessary and ugly
>zoomer memes
Preasu understandu, Gameu Freaku isu smarru indie studio withu smarru Japaneseu penisu.

For me it was Mega Swampert.
Also I forgot, they were rarely used on shitmons that needed help, they gave Megas to Pokemon that were either already popular, or pseudo legendaries who's usage fell a tiny bit.
They also looked terrible, don't think there's a single mega that didn't ruin the original design.
Mega Beedrill is goated
it was based for mega-fug and being banned of the ban list
Is that Drake and Young Thug?
Megas were shit. Make actual evolutions.
Tera > Megas > Z-moves >>>>>>>>> Dynamax
t. high level VGC player
Tera I much prefer as a gimmick from a compgay perspective, but for in-game there's literally nothing to it.
Personally I hated megas but I hate the fact they abandoned them immediately even more.
What do you mean fun?
This shit is for dragon ball fans that dont play the game
It ruined XY's campaign, and most of them you will never even fricking see even in competitive
A lot of people still liked it and wanted more. Could have simply rebalanced in the next games to make it work.
>A lot of people still liked it and wanted more.
Yeah, casuals who didn't even know what Megas did combat-wise.
Megas are ugly. A total of 2 are good out of 50.
99% of Megas looks dumb as shit, only a select few where viable in any given format and it opened the floodgates of regional gimmicks that has been plaguing pokemon ever since.
The only good Megas are Mawile and Kangaskhan
