>let's steal a cheese stick mascot and call it a new pokemon!
pokemon designs in Paldea were a mistake. all the 3D era games have bad designs overall but SV takes the cake

It has the same face as Vanillish, I don't understand why you have to be in denial.

Japanese artists, originating from a pure and superior culture, would not create an abomination like Gholdengo. That thing could only be conceived by a man from a tainted and degenerate culture such as UK.
Show me proof that Turner designed Gimmighoul and Gholdengo, and I'll concede.

What other Pokemon artists draw faces like that?
The vertical oval eyes and bean shaped mouth are typical of Turner, you can see it in the Vanillite line, the Sinistea line, Tatsugiri and the Trozei npcs he designed.
Nothing actually. Gholdengo is just an escapegoat for a larger issue of limited hazard removal since it’s been the first Pokemon since Gen 5 to be able to block hazard removal (unless you don’t count Court Change)
In fact Gholdengo is arguably keeping this Metagame from collapsing as it checks a bunch of key threats while being able to fit on most teams, much like Landorus-T.
>Gholdengo is just an escapegoat for a larger issue of limited hazard removal
People want him suspect tested in Nat Dex where there's plenty of defog users to go around. >"But Nat Dex is an entirely different format"
But the reason people want him suspected is exactly the same. Even with the format's high distribution of defog users, Gholdengo still has little trouble blocking defog and 1v1ing nearly all of them.
Against defog, he flatout wins. Against rapid spin, he still wins because even if he switches into Great Tusk's earthquake and gets OHKO'd, the the offensive monster that comes in is guaranteed to force the spinner out and keep the hazards on the field. He is not only the greatest defogger of all time, but also a top 4 spinblocker in the entire game after The Father (Arceus Ghost), The Son (Giratina), and The Holy Spirit (Giratina-O).
String cheese man, redditbug, and clowncroc are so bad they drag down ghost type as a whole, but they end up balancing out ghost type for this gen when we also have peak designs like annihilape, ceruledge and greavard
i thought aegislash was the most bullshit mon ever introduced but i was wrong. >immune to status >if a status move so much as includes an interaction with the opponent, it fails altogether so defog cant proc >ghost type for god knows why so it cant be spun on either >with balloon its immune to all status moves, normal, fighting, poison, and ground >also it can tera lol (but its not a great tera mon tbh) >hits hard even without attack investment
Honestly i dont care about its design, it could be the coolest or cutest pokemon and it would still be complete bullshit. Showdown gave us a meta without aegislash to see if it was actually the problem with early X/Y and they should do the same with gholdengo
Tatsugiri is stupid, especially its simplistic artstyle
Dondonzo is just a colored animal to me
Paldean Tauros is practically just a recolor
Obstagoon is awful
Polteageist line are dumb objectmons
Centiskorch is an animal + element
Gigantamax Pikachu is "it just gets bigger"
Buzzwole is just a humanoid mosquito
Bruxish is ugly like Duchess
Trevenant is just a tree
Golurk doesn't look like a Pokemon
Vanilluxe line has a stupid face and floats
Shadow Lugia is a recolor
There are far more James Turner design misses than hits
I believe he's black coded because of the hair he has. I'm all for it as representation matters. And before someone chimes in with some stupid shit we have literal Mexican pokemon and Mr. Mime is clearly meant to be white.
>immune to all status moves >immune to 3 types >resists 9 types >133 special attack >120 base power STAB attack with only a minor drawback >electric, rock, fighting, psychic and fairy coverage >recovery move

How do you feel abut pink spikes on Donphan?
it was also a mistake
>it's fine when gen 1 does it
yes, its fine when gen 1 does it
anyway, pls kys nu-gen lover
hi pro-nugen discord raider
>muh 3d
ok borty
Ability + typing + signature move
The move defog outright fails instead of just being immune to the evasion drop.
That's it. Change this and nothing else.
Wait, that's not a fakemon?
No, it's also the 1000th Pokémon, hence why it's all gold.
What does the number 1000 have to do with gold?
It's a milestone.
Ghimmighoul is so cute, how the frick did they drop the ball so hard?
recover, typing, high spa decent speed, and good as gold ability, along with make it rain nuke
james turner favoritism
He didn't design it.
Delusional
Show me proof that Turner designed Gimmighoul and Gholdengo, and I'll concede.
All the details are in this image:
>I don't like the design, therefore it MUST be a Turnermon!

Not proof. I'm going to summon the coinfrickers.

If it looks like a Turnermon, acts like a Turnermon, smells like a Turnermon, then it's probably a fricking Turnermon.
Why are you letting this man letting live rentfree in your head anon? You're genuinely obsessed
It's kinda hard to not think Turner when he's responsible for 90% of shitty pokemon designs.
He's really not though.
>when he's responsible for 90% of shitty pokemon designs.
I mean most of the shitty designs came in gen 2 long before he worked on a pokemon game
TURNERMONS
OBJECT-LIKE MONSTERS
TURNERMONS ARE THE CHAMPIONS
TURNERMONS
GOOFY FOOD MONSTERS
TURNERMONS ARE THE CHAMPIONS
If it looks like a duck, acts like a duck, and sounds like a duck... it might actually be a goose, or a swan.
What other Pokemon artists draw faces like that?

those fricking watermelon crushers she's packing, goddam
>typing blocks rapid spin
>ability blocks defog
>actually hits hard
well summated
Dont forget, it blocks mortal spin too
he is a homosexual
>ghost/steel
>stupid special attack stat
>stupider signature move
>even stupider signature ability
Make It Rain is literally just a Steel Overheat-clone
it's a BETTER clone, it only lowers the user's special attack by one stage instead of two, and in a double battle it hits both opponents
He looks like an osmosis jones character.
James turner eternally buckbroken poketards beyond repair with a fricking cutie patootie
Vanillite is not the problem, the thing it turns into does
James turner eternally buckbroken poketards beyond repair with a double cutie patootie
You guys are so fricking obsessed with Turner, at this point I'm convinced you have a weird gay crush on him

Gholdengo is the reason i found out ghost types are inmune to magnet pull and trapping abilities in general
>Scorbunny used Ember
Considering the amount of effort it takes to obtain one, of course it'd have to be good.
Didn't Turner make Goomy and Sliggoo?
Apparently Saya Tsuruta made Goomy vs Goodra, can't find anything about Sliggoo but I'm also not trying very hard
No
a handful of good ones here
The only ones I outright dislike are Bruxish and the ice cream Black folk. The rest are based.
The Vanilluxe line was a good concept, but the moronic face and the fact it has to float to make sense as a creature, ruined it as a design.
Tatsugiri is stupid, especially its simplistic artstyle
Dondonzo is just a colored animal to me
Paldean Tauros is practically just a recolor

That there's so much garbage and nothing good shows that James Turdner is a failure as a designer.
The KISS honey badger first two evos were great redesigns
trevenant is the only good design here
The main thing is how he makes hazard removal and impossibility. Against Gholdengo, all you can do is Court Change.
the dude has to switch in to an attack, including Knock Off's
and has to sacrifice its item slot to Air Balloon to guarantee its role as spinblocker
Gen V is nu-gen, lil b***h. Always was, always will be.
I believe he's black coded because of the hair he has. I'm all for it as representation matters. And before someone chimes in with some stupid shit we have literal Mexican pokemon and Mr. Mime is clearly meant to be white.
Mr. Mime is Humpty Dumpty, who is an egg
He's white like clouds are white
I know it's "cool" to shit on white people but can you not be racist? Holy shit
I mean, he started the thread.
