What makes Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door better than every Final Fantasy game? For me, it's because it's not as grim and dark. It's more upbeat, even if it can get dark

>Me zeroing in on OP’s bait, ready to take the shot
poor bait, play FF5
I’ve owned this game for 20 years and never got more than an hour in
Meh, I don’t see it as a competition. That said, this game has great atmosphere and a fun lighthearted story that takes itself seriously enough.
>it's because it's not as grim and dark
Name 5 final fantasy games that are grim and dark.
FF7 and FF6
>ff7
>grim and dark
you play the even more feminine rip-off of ginjirou dress him up like a girl, go skiing and bonk on anime birds
8’s main focus is child soldiers failing to cope with PTSD in various ways
6 flips hard at the half with the world of Ruin
13 trilogy gives almost lovecraftian vibes with how utterly outclassed and dominated humanity by the fal’cie and the hopelessness of their situation. Every victory is a pyrrhic one, 13-2 especially hitting that.
Crystal Chronicles is a fricking nightmare world
And of course Tactics Advance will always cause a huge stink due your main character essentially crippling his brother, ending the lives of thousands of sentient creatures, and destroying a world
14 because it forces you to accept that the kind of people you see on 14 are still out there somewhere in the real world

I can not for the life of me understand why people play this game and have the gall to call it "the best story in a final fantasy game"
at least give an actual reason
like at least say "I prefer having action commands instead of just selecting what to do"
>QTE based combat that appeals to my ADHD-addled brain
>Unique art style
>Very little grinding
>No random encounters
>Good storyline and localization, story has a good tonal balance.
The games aren't really rivals, but I'd rather play Paper Mario.
For one, explain how tone has any impact on it being a good/bad game. There are good grimdark games and there are good upbeat games.
Your attempt at bait doesn't work because Paper Mario is so genuinely good that its still the best of this style of RPG. people will be reluctant to compare it to games outside of its subgenre.
No homosexual ladyboys as main characters
He doesn't know
>final fantasy
HP 7847
Attack 1373-2027
>Paper Mario
HP 15
Attack 5
So you can plan ahead exactly what you want to do several turns ahead instead of it being so much to chance. Not saying you can't plan ahead in final fantasy, but it's not as easy to have an exact plan.
>What makes Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door better than every Final Fantasy game?
its not
tendies who only had a gamecube overrate this game to high hell
Why are you even comparing them they aren't similar.
