What makes the driving good is that you have to actively think about it, which results in engaging gameplay. You don't have to focus when driving in V which in turn makes it less engaging to play.

we know you grew up with it, but it's a shit game zoomer
get over it
I played gta2 before 3 was out, try again zoomie
I played the first one on PlayStation.
No it isn't its pure SOVL
>has to mod game for it to be SOVL
That's not modded, unless you mean the community patch, but you couldn't tell from that picture
list that made Ganker mald
Why is Soul Caliber so fricking high on the list is it really that good
Wow that lozoot blurb spoils the whole first act.
GTA 4 is a zoomer game? I was 13 when it came out. I played Vice City and San Andreas.
The oldest zoomers are somewhere around 26-28 now, depending on where your cutoff is.
Some of our parents were questionably lax when we were less than 10 years old. Although I personally got it from one of my uncles.
I didn't play VC and SA as soon as they came out.
>depending on where your cutoff is.
cutoff is old enough to remember 9/11 and life before it. literally a generation defining moment for millennials
Ehh I remember 9/11 because my parents stopped watching me play with my alphabet learning toys and watched the news instead. Does that count?
No, remembering Y2K is.
>GTA 4 is a zoomer game
The oldest zoomers would have been 9 years old when the game came out, unless your parents truly didn't give a shit you were not playing GTA 4 as a zoomer child.
GTA V was the zoomer GTA
The oldest zoomers were 12 so technically the upper end of zoomers could have played it as a tween, but yeah it's mostly a millennial game.
i was 9 when it released and let me tell that even before IV, all my friends and i had already played san andreas by that age.
Giving shit about ratings of a fricking video game is mostly American thing
GTA should have been isometric.
Its not the driving. It's the traffic.
swerving through traffic is part of the fun you dumb moron
why would I want to actively think about driving? i don't even do that IRL.
because you want to think about the gameplay you are interacting with, it is fun.
V is casualized driving by design, bigger roads with less traffic and arcadey physics
The driving in V is strangely close to Mario Kart whereas IV is just a heavier version of the 3d era's driving physics
Not to mention the soft body physics that were present in the 2013 release outright being removed from the game because it didn't sync well online
>tfw you smashed into someone hard enough in IV a wheel would fly off
I've had this happen in V too but you have to really beat the car up. In V it's like the same deformation is there but the cars have 10X the HP
It was the same in the original 360/PS3 release but they changed it when they added the 1st person camera
4 is wonky as frick, equal times floaty and weighty, driving in that fricking game feels like steering a brick made of styrofoam, bikes and helicopters are near damn unusable.
You need to git gud
You need to eat my ass.
He's right. Bikes do suck in GTA4
V is still better than IV
>muh heckin driving
>muh physics
Neither is important, cope youtuber shilloid contrarian
>driving physics are not important in a GTA game
This is why nobody takes Vgays seriously
whats the best way to play this on PC? Any way to remedy the problems in cutscenes?
Look up and install fusion fix and DXVK and you are pretty much good to go
Wait what problems in cutscenes? I've been playing for a bit and haven't noticed anything, am I gonna get fricked somewhere down the line?
Jittery sometimes
when your fps is above 30, it can mess with the camera
What do you mean bro it’s just driving in a game lol what
True. I also love the gunplay in 4 - more grounded and realistic guns with good punchy sound and actual recoil (unless you play the shitty PC port). AK for instance - I love how it looks and and feels in IV and absolutely despise the V rendition.
>unless you play the shitty PC port
You can fix the PC port with the downgrader and one patch that restores the console recoil. The game feels great to play on PC if you're willing to tweak it a bit.
Yeah, I know, played only the PC version myself. My point was that your experience could be different if you played this port as is.
But that shit is hilarious, the problem resolves by itself as soon as you grab a controller, without patches or anything. Did they think we can't aim for shit with a mouse?
yeah and what makes it shit is that every car has weird jelly suspension and leans right or left like a fricking sail boat which is enough to dismiss all good aspects and makes it incredibly annoying to the point you try to avoid driving cars in a fricking gta game
even San Andreas had better driving
>you cant do an instant 90 degree turn while driving 60 mph in this game
In GTA 4 U DRIVE ON ROAD In GTA 5 U DRIVFE ON GPS
I approve of any and all GTA 4 posting
If you're reading this and hadn't played it recently, give it a go, it's pretty much perfect just install like 3 things listed on pcgamingwiki
And it looks fricking incredible with the gray/blue/green/poop filter disabled and everything cranked to 100
fellow gta 4 driving physics enjoyoor
What mods should I strap on to this to get a relatively bug free or even an improved experience? I love this one but it's the only game I haven't played on PC, it was kinda ass on the PS3. Also did the Definitive Edition re-release fix the 4GB VRAM bug?
>FusionFix
>Console VIsuals
>Various fixes
dont forget DXVK for the performance boost
Too bad every car floats all over the road like it's a landyacht from 1950s. Even that Lambo/Zonda mix you get as a reward. This sucked balls.
Yeah. You need engaging driving when it's the only thing to do
There's always fun on a bun in GTA.
People always bring up the lack of lackluster driving, crash physics, and animations when it comes to V.
I contend that literally every aspect of GTA gameplay is worse in V. It is the most slapped together GTA in the series and unfortunately it's the one we've been stuck with for 10 years and counting.
>90% of the map is super wide roads lines with fake buildings that continue in one direction into infinity
>Like 4 different pedestrian scream sounds you will hear constantly on roulette
>Guns sound like toys
>The game generally looks lifeless and washed out
>Any wanted level you have won't matter for shit if you get into a flying vehicle. No challenging dogfights like San Andreas
>Broken personal space parameter programmed into every NPC
The one good thing they added was a ragdoll button. That was fun to frick around with. But as long as they keep adding first person modes and tv shows nobody will watch and just shit nobody cares about instead of focusing on what makes a good GTA game they won't have the mandate.
You know what I really hate? The three protagonists gimmick.
i didn't mind it because i wanted trevor and michael to kiss but overall i agree with you. there wasn't any significant difference in gameplay among the three of them; it only existed to prop up a mediocre story and have some funny switch scenes to try and distract you from the fact the whole game is a glorified tech demo
What I really hate is when they change to different clothes when switching over to them. It's like what, my choices aren't good enough for you clownshoe frickers?
This is just a glorified courier simulator, 90% of the missions in this fricking game are about driving something somewhere.
Thats literally every GTA you fat assed vixen. Drive here, get that, oo chase this guy, shoot that dude. Thats the entire series. What makes it interesting is WHY and WHERE. The classics were the worst about this, especially the mini-games like paramedic, taxi, pimping, firefighter, COURIER etc.
III and V mix it up more with all the insane Hollywood-style shit that happens in them, IV was an attempt at making a more "serious" GTA and while some elements of it are great like the protagonist the missions just start blending together after a while because they're all more or less the same, the game needed more shooting, stealth and more bombastic setpieces.
>Florian gives you that sweet sports car when you finish up his questline
>one of the vehicles in the game for freeform destruction derby because the engine is in the back
I spent so much time causing carnage with that car. Just drive it till the front is flatter than a pancake, park up, got to sleep and do it all again. The body deformation system in this game was so good.
whats the best GTA and why is it III
>consoloids are mentally engrossed by gta """driving"""
