Long story short I don't want to start the game over from the beginning for the third time.
Off the top of my head, it adds:
1. Intermission segments where you play as other characters, showing what the party members were up to at certain points
2. Lets you romance/bromance any of the party members in the postgame
3. Adds new costumes and variations to them
4. Adds a long sidequest exclusive to the pixel mode
I know I'm forgetting things but those were the big ones that I do remember. If you just want the story not much has changed beyond the intermissions and the core gameplay/character skills are mostly the same.
