Which Super Robot Wars should I pirate? I love tactics games, love building gunpla, mecha in general is cool. But... I dont really like the Gundam tactics game that looks kinda similar to SRW games. Is SRW better or should I just go back to Gundam Breaker 4? Pic related the ribbit I'm currently building. I just snapfit and topcoat/panel line, with SOME stickers. I think they are more enjoyable because of crossover shenanigans and extra fanservice, contrary to the unit collecting autism of the G Generation games, but they aren't winning any awards as srpgs.
Take a look at the translated games and play the one with the cast list that interest you the most, but if you want some input: he recent ones are a bit of mixed bag, with V being the best of them all. W is an absolute classic. Alpha Gaiden is great too. A Portable is actually a great srpg but has a dull castlist.

Alpha 1, UX, and SRW4 are pretty good TRPGs, and superior to many FE's. SRW A is also pretty good as I recall. UX in particular really blows FE Awakening out of the water as a TRPG, with similar pair up mechanics that are executed 10,000x better. SRW4 is mechanically very simple, but strongly forces you to use the mechanics optimally or you'll quickly run out of resources and be out powered by enemies into the mid-game.
Its high time they feature it in anything other than Mobage. Maybe Olta Moda might help due to shilling the new show but still, please ffs. Argento Soma would be awesome too.
No new ones from the 70's or 80's that's for sure with how many VA's retired or dead and a general reluctance to replace them (they haven't replaced Excellen's VA yet). So no Dairugger, Groizer X, Danguard Ace, Gold Lightan etc
It's actually really sad when I think about how many series I'd like to return only to realize that they'd either be archival only because their VAs are dead or be as jarring as listening to Judau's VA 3/4 into COPD try to record lines juxtaposed with a HAI MEGA RANCHER recording from like a decade ago
Bionicle. Which saga would be better to adapt in SRW, Mask of light or Toa Mahri? Toa Mahri would have Matoro survival route by Lesovikk sacrificing instead for atoning him failing to protect his villagers and brothers. And it would give Toa Mahri combination weapon named Toa Kaita(Melee, aside from Kongu(Ranged)).
Jala would have command aura for being Guard captain when he was Tohunga. And he could use Area Analyze with Arthron. (If Matoro has survived and they went to Arthaka, Tahu would give him Lhikan's Hau and Arthaka will restore this mask to Great form, having Defensive ability by consuming EN(like PS armor).
And he can use Nova blast, which costs a lot of EN and makes Jala exhausted(50 Vigor)
Hahli has Kanohi Faxon, which allows her to increase Evasion,Accuracy,Melee, Dexterity and gives S to all terrain adaption.
Kongu would get new Toa tool(Twin Axe-Rang and Backpack from Arthaka) which allows him to fly.
Nuparu would have Repair and Refil tool, which can refil Jala after using nova blast. He could use Aqua blaster blade as Map weapon, or Attack "Kanohi Volitak Blaster", which Nuparu uses his mask to sneak and Surprises with Aqua blaster blade smash just like hyper jammer attack of deathscythe.
Matoro would survive on certain condition by Lesovikk sacrificing himself instead, and he will get sliver Akaku instead of Tryna for Tryna is Immoral to Toas. Matoro can slow foes by Channeling his ice power and could Counter attack.

SRW needs to adapt Bionicle, with Toa Mahri arc. Neo Zeon and Dino empire from Getter coming to Mahri Nui with marine hizacks, kapools, Hygoggs, Acguy, zgok for Ignika too.
I wanna see Toa Mahri fighting with Haman in Acguy.
I just think there is fatigue with the current engine. Even if 30 had overhauled the UI, it's still using the same sprite style as VTX (hell compare regular GaoGaiGar which is literally the T sprite with the newer GaoGaiGo), which themselves were using the assets all the way from Z!
Will bionicle come to SRW? Most of early bionicle terms like Nokama, Wahi, mangai, Kahu,kewa, Pohatu,Onua,Tahu,Kaita,akamai,Muaka Kanera,Tamaru,Kapura,Hafu,Taipu,Takua sounds Japanese.
They should put literally my mech and its series into the game, just to see how much they'd have to bend over to make it fit.

Sounds like a great opportunity to go back to all the series they skipped over previously like Break Blade, Argevollen, Muv-Luv, Egao no Daika, Dragonar, and so on.
But Bionicle is mech too. Bandai had much soul when Bionicle was alive and competing with gunpla. Bionicle dying resulted in Bandai losing soul and P-bandai. Lego never does limited version shit like P-bandai.

They've been supposedly working on another OG which is said to be the last OG game.
