What music do you associate with your /tg/ hobbies?
For me, I'm instantly about 12 again, reading Codex Armageddon or Eye of Terror when I hear this album

Tyr: How far to Asgard.
Dreadnoughts: Foreign Skies
I don't have the list anymore but apparently there is Rammstein song for every Space Marine chapter.
>EoT Campaign
We were listening to this a bunch
just sort of worked
Two Steps From Hell
some Tool songs have a fantasy feel and get me daydreaming, like Invincible or Reflection
Even when I was 12 I knew that evanescence was bad
WAKE MEH UP INSEIDDE
SAAAAAVE MEEEEEH
Everyone instantly goes to the meme song. Meanwhile, I distinctly remember writing "Servatis a periculum, servatis a maleficum" on desks thinking I was the raddest edgelord in middle school.
>Even when I was 12 I was a snobby homosexual that nobody liked
We know anon, no need to go around telling everyone, it's obvious the moment you walk into a room, you don't even need to speak for people to look at you and see the cringing failure inside you that drives you to lash out at other people's fun in a desperate attempt to make them feel as miserable as you always are. Seek help buddy, it gets better.
NTA, but he clearly touched a nerve, didn't he? They do fricking suck, and saying so doesn't need to elicit that response from you. I'm not miserable and not trying to make anyone miserable, but I'll definitely back that up. Evanescence sucks, it's embarrassing. I'm sure some of the music I like you would probably think sucks as well, but I wouldn't accuse you of all that stuff.
Take your own advice, anon.
>this popular music is bad actually!
Ah, I see you're an intellectual.

we literally have a board for this

I went through a spell of reading 4e PDFs while listening to System of a Down, so now I associate a bunch of their songs - mostly from Hypnotize - with the eldritch entities like Caiphon and Hadar.
>4e
More like Syndrome of a Down then.
Metal generally is associated with /tg/ hobbies but Mastodon specifically takes me back to playing multiplayer Magic in the garage

Silence, so I can focus when planning and so everyone can hear each other when running.
For World of Darkness I really like the Dark Ambient genre. D&D, though, it's gotta be Bardcore.
I will always associate this whole album with AD&D 2e
I can't listen to Superbus without thinking of VtM.
running from beholders through undermountain while frayed ends of sanity by metallica blared and buttholes kept spilling mountain dew on my maps...
i put this album on before i went to sleep and id close my eyes and imagine a scene from 40k for each song.
Stuff like Burzum, Emperor, Blind Guardian and Eternal Champion.
Similar with me, but weirdly its 40k and Dolly Parton. My mom picked me up from school one day and surprised me with the 3rd edition rulebook as a present, so I was reading it on the way home while she listened to a Best Of Dolly cassette tape. Miss you mom>/spoiler]

Unfathomably comfy.
I think of Rush and 1980s Metallica when I play fantasy. I think of Front Line Assembly and Atari Teenage Riot when I play cyberpunk.
RUSH.
Sometimes I still listen to it while painting. The songwriting has held up well, the drums sound as awful as ever. In general I associate baby's first extreme metal bands with warhammer.
The Remastered version is solid gold

>painting/assembling my vietnam themed IG
60-70s music.
>painting/assembling my BTs or crusader themed khornate army
Palestinalied and the soundtrack from Crusades with Terry Jones.
>paiting/assembling my CoB
Perturbator, Carpenter Brut, and such.
>making character sheet for a super villain who was basically just a big troll who lived underground and grew goblin minions from his skin
Down Down in Goblin Town and Underground by Tom Waits.
>state sheet for militaristic space japan
Battotai and taiko war drums, etc.
And it just keeps going like that.
Probably the most Paladin Paladin song that was ever written.
Metal has always been the genre of choice for tabletop games
Blind Guardian and Dragonforce for DnD. Some Dethklok and Sabaton for 40k.Though a weird one that I associate my orks is https://youtu.be/5epwwwXyF4Y. I painted a lot of boyz while that show on was in the background so just kinda stuck with 'em.
In our very first ever TTRPG session(Shadowrun 4e) as a friendgroup, my bud bust out this song for a hectic car chase we had running away from corpo security. I was playing the prebuilt Radical Eco Shaman and used the mass mind control thing to slam 6 jeeps into eachother.
This song is soundtrack
When I play Cyberpunk 2020 with friends usually I put punk/metal/rock/electronic from the 1970 to 1990 to give that Old Style Cyberpunk feel. Bopth while preparing the campaign alone to when we play.
