No it doesnt. GeForce experience does, but if youre using it to update your drivers in the year of our lord anno domini 2024 instead of just downloading the damn driver you kinda only have yourself to blame.
You should expect Windows driver updates to overwrite your manually installed Radeon drivers and cause everything to frick up
Not a problem for Nvidia drivers btw
that's only a problem for homosexuals who install old amd drivers
because the old ones are more "stable"
anything that isn't windows 95 ui is bloat
a common cope for nvidia fanboys since nvidia does not actually update their software unless it's to break older games and support brand new trash you will never play
gf experiance does the same shit. What seems to be the problem? Actually its even worse because there is product placement with every driver update
the difference is you have to login to your account in GeForce for its mandatory data collection and you can't turn off the ads.

oh wait so you can update drivers from the control panel like in AMD? SIKE you can't, you have to manually do that from Nvidias website if you don't use experience. Talk about scummy practices.

So is the whole AMD Radeon control panel thing. You can do a minimal install which just installs the drivers. Not defending that shit though, advertisements in the control panel by default are scummy, just saying.
you don't have the option to set graphical settings per game in the minimal version

I had this problem for a year with my 5700 but then it turned out it was actually a RAM issue. After buying new RAM I never saw this again. It doesn't help that this is such a generic error that can be caused by 50 different things though.
As a 6700XT owner, it USED to happen to me after initial release, Id say it went away within a few months of a couple of driver updates.
Youre lucky. My 6700xt has had many issues.
unfortunate, id return for replacement, and if it continues, might be some wierd instability with the whole system.
I know the voltages on the 6700xt can tend to be pushed way too high, so Id try lowering it and the frequency a bit and seeing if it becomes more stable, if it gets stable, then increase frequency from there.
my mV is set to 1100 with max mhz at 2650, runs stable and very cool.(reference)
just get rid of it and overclock using gputweak or afterburner?
it made some games play very sluggish on my new gpu so i got rid of it completely and the performance is much better for it
It's unironically a bad thing that founders cards are better and cheaper than AIB cards, because it stiffles competition. No one can compete with nvidia's own cards because they don't have to pay themselves licencing fees and thus can charge much lower prices to make the paper thin margines of selling gpus even thinner. EVGA saw the writing on the wall that Nvidia wanted to be the sole distributors of their tech like Apple so they could price gouge, and EVGA noped out of making gpus because of it. It's way more profitable making power supplies to feed those hungry behemoths, because every PC with a gpu needs a power supply.
i like that EVGA actually had the balls to tell nvidia to frick off. its a shame they didnt go team red after this but EVGA was one of the best partners nvidia could have so losing them was a big deal
that said i do find it funny how apple and nvidia got in a pissing fight and thats the sole reason nvidia gpus arent in apple systems, and why amd gpus are
Yeah, Ive got the 7800XT nitro+ too, its like my fury nitro but updated. Its great how rigid that extra bracket makes everything.
I with XFX with my 7900xt. I can make it run something at 240-350 FPS and I don't hear so much as a peep out of it. But FF7demake @4k120hz made it belch hot fire out the back of my case.
GPU yes? CPU nope. For GPU it's easy free way to get lower temps and better perf. Ryzen CPUs are so tuned that any sort of messing with them just causes problems.
>Ryzen CPUs are so tuned that any sort of messing with them just causes problems
Not the case with my 5800X3D. I have a -30 offset on all cores and it's been perfectly stable for months while lowering my temps by almost 10C. That thing boosts really aggressively and likes getting really close to its thermal limit with the default voltages. I threw some of the best air cooling at it and the temps still regularly reached 85C in some games before undervolting.
The theory behind that is that your most performant cores will want to boost more so you give them slightly more power, however since it's been running perfectly stable for me at -30 on all cores I didn't see the need to do this. I guess I've finally won the silicon lottery for once, usually I've been really unlucky with my CPUs.
On AM4/5 you have better results tuning your RAM than your processor. I had an undervolt and OC config for a 4070 but my motherboard dying recently wiped the settings and I haven't bothered reconfiguring it yet.
the simple explanation is that power is the product of voltage and current and power consumed by the component is more or less constant so when you decrease the voltage, the current will increase to ensure the power level is maintained.
Isn't it the job of the PSU to regulate the current fluctuations? Also GPU load is never constant. Things like temperature can affect voltage even at idle with zero rpm mode.
>Isn't it the job of the PSU to regulate the current fluctuations?
yes, the crucial point is the current consumed is not the same as fluctuation. Fluctuation occurs when there is a temporary overvoltage or undervoltage, when you undervolt a system it constantly consumes more current.
>Also GPU load is never constant.
Obviously that's where the power factor and loading comes into the picture. short story is you could safely modify the factory settings within a certain tolerance but the components lifetime is optimal at the default factory settings. When you modify it, its lifetime will invariably deteriorate.
>power consumed by the component is more or less constant
Are you trolling? The point of undervolting is to reduce power consumption, which equals heat production.
what he said is true only for electromechanical devices. In computers, there is a mechanism for dynamic scaling of power (both current and voltage reduces om undervolting)
GPU: Nope, I let it how it is.
CPU: I have a Ryzen 7 7700x and run it on Eco-Mode with -10 negative curve optimizer. With this the Temps never goes to 90° and stays mostly by around 80° in Games.
New CPUs from both Intel and AMD will go as high as cooling allows them too on stock. So they will hit 90 degress and then throttle. You have to limit their powerdraw if you want lower temps, better cooling will just result in them boosting higher, while still reaching 80 to 90 degrees.
It's really only an issue on specific brands. All the Sapphire cards are reliable and likely don't have this issue, but Powercolor this generation is known to have coil whine problems.
I have Sapphire RX 6800 XT Pulse and it starts whining at like 30% load. At 100% it becomes louder than fan spin.

Nice projection. Anyone not living with their parents and got their shit together actually has money to spend on their hobbies. I never had this when living my my parents. If you have nice luxuries with your parents because you're a spoiled brat and still buy AMD, you are moronic. You are moronic, yes you
i did that with my rtx 3070ti trinity oc because it's such a loud fricking card. temps went down and noise went down. i can't say if i did it properly and got the same or more fps because i didn't test it.
>3070 Ti
What the frick. Someone actually bought one? >mmmyes let me pay even more for 8GB
You either went 3060 Ti or 3080, the other options were moronic.
I wouldn't say "undervolt" but more of an "optimized". -0.050mv on my 13700k for the same 5.4Ghz.
GPU undervolted to 0.900mv and drops 80W for 4% performance difference.
Never undervolted a cpu but every AMD card I undervolt. You get better performance and shave around 15 degrees of heat off which is the main takeaway given how toasty most AMD cards get.
I take about 4 - 5 percent off voltage and don't change clocks on GPU to keep it stable, best performance is in fan curves.
Ryzen is simple undervolt without bios turbo mode (pbo offset with disabled voltage throttle).
You should expect Windows driver updates to overwrite your manually installed Radeon drivers and cause everything to frick up
Not a problem for Nvidia drivers btw

It's really only an issue on specific brands. All the Sapphire cards are reliable and likely don't have this issue, but Powercolor this generation is known to have coil whine problems.
Before last year I had never had coil whine issues. Bought a Powercolor RX 6800 XT and I thought the card was shitting itself because of the loud buzzing under load.
Then I was blown away by how often this issue occurs in new cards when I googled it.
Currently running my old RX 580 and it's very silent.
i accidentally bought the 7900 xt instead of the xtx. really good card. i had zero issues in cod or any other games with it. i was bored and i even played a bit of dead space at 8k with it. i can't say how high the framerate was because the indicator was too small but it felt like 30 fps.
>team green for decades >terrified of AMD thanks to all the horror stories, crashes, no drivers, etc >gpu dies, need an upgrade with 24GB+ for work >my three choices are the 3090 (sold out everywhere), 4090 (too expensive), tesla cards are shit for gaming >bite the bullet and go team red

Because I don't want a K80, anon.
Your posts don't make sense. If you really need an GPU for work and they had K80s you would be using a K80. Because if they didn't need the Tasla GPUs they would have gone with Geforce cards or AMD cards. I don't believe you that you can just switch to an AMD card for work. Also a 4090 would be cheaper than a K80. So what exactly are you playing at?
>Your posts don't make sense. If you really need an GPU for work and they had K80s you would be using a K80.
The 7900 XTX I got works just fine.
>Because if they didn't need the Tasla GPUs they would have gone with Geforce cards or AMD cards.
Don't look at me. There's a physical box at my office with about ~40 K80s going unused.
>Also a 4090 would be cheaper than a K80.
At MSRP, sure, but you can't get either of those cards at MSRP right now.
K80s retail for about $150.
Lucky for you. I had nothing but problems with my Vega 64, constantly crashing, giving me frozen screens, etc.
Luckily, the new 6800 XT has been performing admirably so far, and I have not experienced any issues (other than 95C while gaming, which is apparently normal so sayeth r*ddit)
I'm so glad I quit being a PCgay. Imagine having to build your own rig part by part, then after a few years do it again, and again, and again. Not to mention having to clean and rebuild it every few months. Such a fricking waste of time.
I am not nvidia cultist but despite the obvious cherrypicking in this post, 7900xtx performs on an average 10 to 15% lesser than 4090 which is actually not bad. It offers much better value per dollar than the 4090.
>buying nvidia that isn't the 4090
i seriously hope nvidiots have some recollection of how every single 40 series card was panned on release for being a scam
I have 12 of the GPUs used from Stadia and they are surprisingly good if you can get them running. Theyre essentially the theoretical best possible binning of Vega 10, with some custom changes to the vbios. They never run over 110W, and perform very very very well. Also some ECC memory to boot. Sadly theyre all 8GB but they do work on windows with third party driver options. Linux it just werks.
You need 12 and GPUs just to get the same performance as a Nvidia card lol
>Linux just werks
No it really doesn't. I use it, I hate it and for gaming I always default to a Windows desktop. Linuxgays are the same moronic AMD shills with the same cope of "it just werks" when it clearly doesn't just work.

I dont have one but I know someone who does. The general experience is DX12/Vulkan will be okay and on par with whatever equivalent AMD/Nvidia gen like a 3060 or whatever. DX11,DX9 are broken and require DXVK. OpenGL is totally broken. Video acceleration is great.
I've had mine for 4 months without any problems. It's a nice change from my decade old 1080. Figured I'd give amd a try. After seeing how nvidia sales directly fund the IDF I believe I made the right choice.
Almost bought one myself, but the fricky wacky European pricing at the time had this 4080 at msrp and every version of the 7900XTX was in between 1150 and 1300 euros.
From what I have seen, they are identical cards so expect triple digit frame rates at 1440p in properly optimized games.

>Wish they were truly competitive in that field, in terms of both their hardware and software.
You don't really - you just want AMD to exist so nvidia lowers prices. AMD has had competitive products for nearly a decade and everyone went and bought nvidia.
>But the top of the line has been reserved by Nvidia for years

This is what I want to happen. I also want Intel GPUs to become competitive. I'll never dish out that sort of cash for a top of the line GPU. Years ago the best of the best cards could be had for under $1K, when both Nvidia and AMD/ATI were highly competitive across all performance ranges.

>AMD releases a card that truly rivals the 5090 across performance and features
OK, sure, and then NVIDIA releases another stupid gimmick. Now everyone goes back to NVIDIA because they think they have a valid reason and they want a "premium" product. The price is part of the appeal. Also: AMD and NVIDIA have been caught pricefixing before, and semiconductors aren't getting any cheaper. The days of cheap GPUs are never coming back.
>the risk of huge driver issues
Which one is this? NVIDIA? AMD? Both? >buying a product from one of the scummiest companies to have ever existed
Going to join the Nestle boycott next? Who cares?
personally i also had driver issues with nvidia cards, currently i'm using a amd card, some of their drivers can cause some small issues, but it was never so bad that i had to ddu the drivers.
Intel arc is releasing new higher spec GPUs next year, so there's that.
the battlemage cards sounds promising, but we will se how this will turn out.
I had a displeasure of owning an RX 480 at one point. Safe to say, I'm never buying an AMD gpu again. Been on Nvidia since and never had a single problem (1080ti, 3080, 4090)
What kind of issues did you have? The only GPU I've ever had outright just die on me was an Nvidia one and I've been with AMD ever since. I guess we all swear off a brand based on our worst experience with it.

It was the cheapest in Europe during september that's why I bought it.
No regrets the temps are very low (54 to 60 degrees), which would allow me to intensively overclock it without going above 84 degrees, won't do so because I prefer undervolting

and don't forget about the ads in the driver control panel
well atleast he's not paying 100$ extra for its equivalent in nvdia
>so he has to watch ads in his drivers control panel
don't complain about windows spyware and ads in the future please
I'll take the ads over the garbage that is GeForce experience and its automatic "optimal" settings tweaker.
more importantly the mandatory login for driver updates
yes I know you can download direct from the website I shouldn't have to
bro nvidia literally forces you to watch game ad banners when you are updating its drivers. it's the norm now.
so does amd but I don't have any in my control panel in the end
>now
homie, I built my PC in 2010 and the program already showed ads while installing the drivers.
it does? I always just minimize the update window and do something else while It's installing.
No it doesnt. GeForce experience does, but if youre using it to update your drivers in the year of our lord anno domini 2024 instead of just downloading the damn driver you kinda only have yourself to blame.
Pretty sure ads can be turned off. I don't have any on mine.
>ads
What did he mean by this?
imagine not hitting 60 fps in risk of rain lmaooo amdbros... where the frick did we go wrong
this is what bloat looks like
that's only a problem for homosexuals who install old amd drivers
because the old ones are more "stable"
>this is what bloat looks like
Surely you can elaborate on that.
anything that isn't windows 95 ui is bloat
a common cope for nvidia fanboys since nvidia does not actually update their software unless it's to break older games and support brand new trash you will never play
Let's see Paul Allen's panel
bruh, you can turn the ads off in the settings. it should ask this during the install too if you want ads or not
it doesn't
geforce experience is optional
>geforce experience is optional
oh wait so you can update drivers from the control panel like in AMD? SIKE you can't, you have to manually do that from Nvidias website if you don't use experience. Talk about scummy practices.
>update drivers from the control panel
>system won't boot anymore
ayyymd
you don't have the option to set graphical settings per game in the minimal version
you can only set them globally
>ayyymd
lol I see your blantant misdirection there to avoid the topic of your nvdia overlords spyware software.
>geforce experience is optional
So is the whole AMD Radeon control panel thing. You can do a minimal install which just installs the drivers. Not defending that shit though, advertisements in the control panel by default are scummy, just saying.
gf experiance does the same shit. What seems to be the problem? Actually its even worse because there is product placement with every driver update
the difference is you have to login to your account in GeForce for its mandatory data collection and you can't turn off the ads.
Yeah all I have here is a link to the AMD website.
I didn't even know this option existed, it's on for me but I guess the PiHole was good at blocking that shit.
simple as
Where? I'm not seeing any. That might be my raspberry pi blocking them though. Where do the ads usually get shown in the AMD control panel?
only if you're on windows
>2%
a damn shame
I had this problem for a year with my 5700 but then it turned out it was actually a RAM issue. After buying new RAM I never saw this again. It doesn't help that this is such a generic error that can be caused by 50 different things though.
Literally NEVER happened to me
t. proud RX 6700 owner
Youre lucky. My 6700XT has had many issues.
As a 6700XT owner, it USED to happen to me after initial release, Id say it went away within a few months of a couple of driver updates.
unfortunate, id return for replacement, and if it continues, might be some wierd instability with the whole system.
I know the voltages on the 6700xt can tend to be pushed way too high, so Id try lowering it and the frequency a bit and seeing if it becomes more stable, if it gets stable, then increase frequency from there.
my mV is set to 1100 with max mhz at 2650, runs stable and very cool.(reference)
just get rid of it and overclock using gputweak or afterburner?
it made some games play very sluggish on my new gpu so i got rid of it completely and the performance is much better for it
I don't overclock. It crashed with stock settings.
so why do you need to use it? get rid of it
Only time I've had this issue was with the Re4 remake.
>have shit PSU
>DRIVER CRASH

I'm sold on Sapphire. Got the 7800XT nitro+ myself, great build quality.
Yeah, Ive got the 7800XT nitro+ too, its like my fury nitro but updated. Its great how rigid that extra bracket makes everything.
Same here bro, I'm fricking loving the 5800X3D + 7800 XT combo. The cooling on the Nitro+ is fantastic.
I got the same combo but powercolor. It is fast as hell & quiet.
Brother.
I just need a new monitor, I feel the 7800 is twiddling its thumbs at 1080p
Now that EVGA stopped making GPUs, Nvidia doesn't have any AIB partner to match Saphire in quality.
AIBs were a mistake
i like that EVGA actually had the balls to tell nvidia to frick off. its a shame they didnt go team red after this but EVGA was one of the best partners nvidia could have so losing them was a big deal
that said i do find it funny how apple and nvidia got in a pissing fight and thats the sole reason nvidia gpus arent in apple systems, and why amd gpus are
I with XFX with my 7900xt. I can make it run something at 240-350 FPS and I don't hear so much as a peep out of it. But FF7demake @4k120hz made it belch hot fire out the back of my case.
>4gb
Oh shit Black person what sre you doing?
Does anyone here undervolt their GPU or CPU? Post your results. Who leave their TV/Monitor and PC at stock out of the box settings in 2024??
GPU yes?
Shouldn't you lower the offset for your most performant cores?
The theory behind that is that your most performant cores will want to boost more so you give them slightly more power, however since it's been running perfectly stable for me at -30 on all cores I didn't see the need to do this. I guess I've finally won the silicon lottery for once, usually I've been really unlucky with my CPUs.
>*blows up*
On AM4/5 you have better results tuning your RAM than your processor. I had an undervolt and OC config for a 4070 but my motherboard dying recently wiped the settings and I haven't bothered reconfiguring it yet.
You should try Eco-Mode with your CPU so it draws less power and gets less hotter. It won't really cause a huge dent to fps.
Don't undervolt, it increases the current to the electronic component and diminishes its life by a considerable degree.
How does less voltage = more current?
the simple explanation is that power is the product of voltage and current and power consumed by the component is more or less constant so when you decrease the voltage, the current will increase to ensure the power level is maintained.
In computers, there is a mechanism for dynamic scaling of power (both current and voltage reduces om undervolting)
yes, when mining. Could have similar benefits when gaming, but CPU isn't a big deal, and GPU can be addressed with something like radeon chill.
GPU: Nope, I let it how it is.
CPU: I have a Ryzen 7 7700x and run it on Eco-Mode with -10 negative curve optimizer. With this the Temps never goes to 90° and stays mostly by around 80° in Games.
HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAA
???
>80°C while gaming
New CPUs from both Intel and AMD will go as high as cooling allows them too on stock. So they will hit 90 degress and then throttle. You have to limit their powerdraw if you want lower temps, better cooling will just result in them boosting higher, while still reaching 80 to 90 degrees.
I have Sapphire RX 6800 XT Pulse and it starts whining at like 30% load. At 100% it becomes louder than fan spin.
This post lmao
>Tell me you haven't upgraded to modern hardware in 15 years without telling me

How poor are you homosexuals?
>justifying 80°C while gaming
how to say you still live with your parents and don't pay any bills by not saying you still live with your parents and don't pay any bills
Nice projection. Anyone not living with their parents and got their shit together actually has money to spend on their hobbies. I never had this when living my my parents. If you have nice luxuries with your parents because you're a spoiled brat and still buy AMD, you are moronic. You are moronic, yes you
homie. My 7700x runs on a undervolt and never goes past 68 unless I'm doing something moronic like running Automatic1111 off of it.
what for a cpu cooler do you use?
https://www.amazon.com/Vetroo-Radiator-LGA1200-Addressable-Controller/dp/B08L8PQ3ZF
i don't use a aio watercooler, probably thats the difference.
Then get a Peerless Assassin, or a Noctua. Because your temps are insane. What is your voltage at? Check that it's not at something like 1.5+
i did that with my rtx 3070ti trinity oc because it's such a loud fricking card. temps went down and noise went down. i can't say if i did it properly and got the same or more fps because i didn't test it.
>3070 Ti
What the frick. Someone actually bought one?
>mmmyes let me pay even more for 8GB
You either went 3060 Ti or 3080, the other options were moronic.
i got my rtx 3070ti for eur 450
Yeah the 3070 seemed like the best price to performance at the time. And it went on sale so I nabbed it
Didnt think vram was going to be such an issue
>You either went 3060 Ti or 3080, the other options were moronic.
real homie detected
vega gamers definitely do. it runs better undervolted than it does stock also it runs cooler but thats a different issue
It's a graphics card that let's you play game with prettier graphics, who gives a shit?
>ads are good now
shill more homosexual
Best value for money if you are running linux, otherwise shitty drivers

i don't know, more flavor in your dishes thanks to MSG?
what are you gonna cook with that?

You should expect Windows driver updates to overwrite your manually installed Radeon drivers and cause everything to frick up
Not a problem for Nvidia drivers btw
You can just disable that
I can't even buy that shit in my country, it's not fair.
I got one of these and holy frick it's a great card. The bit that got me is how quiet it is. The drives in my NAS are louder than this thing.
>What should I expect?
bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Now this is real. Coil whine on modern GPUs is a real problem that barely anyone talks about.
It's really only an issue on specific brands. All the Sapphire cards are reliable and likely don't have this issue, but Powercolor this generation is known to have coil whine problems.
>Coil whine was an issue 15 years ago
>still an issue
baka
so you want to say that nvidia cards doesn't have them or what? my old 1060 had coil whining as well.
Before last year I had never had coil whine issues. Bought a Powercolor RX 6800 XT and I thought the card was shitting itself because of the loud buzzing under load.
Then I was blown away by how often this issue occurs in new cards when I googled it.
Currently running my old RX 580 and it's very silent.
i have a xfx rx 6800 xt and only get massiv coil whining by over 200 fps, which i rarely get, so most of the time i don't hear anything from the card.
then lock your fps at 144 or whatever your monitors refresh rate is
its 165 and i already did this, after i saw this.
i accidentally bought the 7900 xt instead of the xtx. really good card. i had zero issues in cod or any other games with it. i was bored and i even played a bit of dead space at 8k with it. i can't say how high the framerate was because the indicator was too small but it felt like 30 fps.
>i accidentally bought the 7900 xt
homie, how do mistake a 800$ card for a 1000$ one?
he bought an amd card in the first place which wasn't the brightest move and it only went down from there
Great post sirs! Good morning
>team green for decades

What
>for work
yeah sure
I need vram for work. Everyone else has shitty K80s in their rigs but I wanted something I could also game on.
>I need vram for work.
so why are you paying for your own gpu?
Because I don't want a K80, anon.
see
I work for free.
Anon, we always said don't fall for Jensen Adolf Huang's propaganda.
>Jensen Adolf Huang's propaganda.
not like the ayemdee is any better. their recent business presentation had meme collabs from HP, Microsoft, etc and it was laughable on how little actual substance was there. they were throwing around the term "AI" as much as possible even in places it didn't make any sense to, in hopes of attracting more investors.
Nvidia shilling on here is nothing short of ridiculous
I get that Nvidia was godlike in the age of the 1080, but holy frick is been 3 gens since then and people can't realize they suck ass now.
What sucks ass is
and they still get shilled here.
>they suck ass now
Why? Because a few poorgays on Ganker and Gankercan't afford it?
I have a 3000 series Nvidia and feel kinda ripped off
>I made a poor decision and I blame NVIDIA now for it.
If they were as good as you say all their cards would be a good decision.
So which is it you snake oil Black person?
>OMG I BOUGHT A VEGA 64 BEFORE AMD RELEASED THE 5700XT I FEEL SOOOO RIPPED OFF HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN TO ME???????
I feel ripped off with 8gb of vram you disingenuous shill
that's a you problem
nobody forced you to buy that gpu
this error doesn't make any sense because I bought a NVIDIA GPU after that and it didn't crash it was either the gpu or the driver ram ran at x.m.p
>more fearmongering
>fearmongering
you're fricking blind and moronic if you legitimately cannot see the current pattern

>it's the current trend
>it's the future

>it's the prophecy
>the end is near sheep
if that would happen amd would just play catch up like they always do
I recommend you jump off a cliff.
I recommend you pop your corporate overlords wiener out of your mouth for 30 seconds a day
I recommend you use a K80 in your workstation.
Nobody forced me to but it was actively recommended by homosexuals like you on this very site.
Never trusting an Nvidia cultist again
I read that XMP might be the issue but it kept happening even when I disabled the XMP profile. It did become less frequent though which sort of indicated that the issue is tied to RAM somehow, at least in my case. But I've read reports online about this issue being caused by so many things
>multi-monitor setup with different refresh rates
>driver timeout setting in windows
>windows registry stuff
>windows power settings
>variable voltages
>BIOS settings
>freesync
>unstable power from the PSU
>GPU not being seated properly
>power cables not connected all the way
I spent so much time troubleshooting this shit
yeah I also did all this crap and just bought an nvidia gpu after nothing helped
Why? It does what it should so why do you feel ripped of. You get more features than an AMD GPU.
Then you definitely shouldn't buy AMD
>n-notice me jensen!
>shouldn't buy AMD
Sorry already did and surprise surprise... It's a normal GPU, it does it's job for 200$ less.
Well, above all else I don't get my advice from fricking Ganker of all places, I know better.
>It's a normal GPU, it does it's job for 200$ less.
I guess that that's why they're so afraid of AMD, they really believe Nvidia is working some magic secret sauce in their GPUs.
They don't want to admit that it just works like it should, hell even Intel is catching up pretty fast for someone that just entered the market.
We also have a lot of low-IQ brown people flooding this board now. They think if they spring extra for less product that it means they have disposable income to throw around which in their mind is a sign of success.
>Poorgays
Wasting money isn't something real rich people do.
Fuddpost
>2024
>Buying AMD GPUs
I seriously hope you guys don't do this.
The poorgays do. It's all they can do, other than cope in these threads
>moronic corpo puts out an overpriced piece of shit
>wtf that's overpriced I'm taking my business elsewhere
>WHAT ARE YOU POOR?
This is the cope I was talking about. You know nothing about hardware. Stick to console or AMD, it's fine
customers only deserve the best
>$970 vs $2000
it's funny how this cheap card goes toe to toe with the 4090 which costs more than twice as much
b-but what about RT??? what about the rays traveling and shit?
I just remember RT exists when someone mentions it here.
lol, that's funny considering how much nvidia fanboys always brag about that one feature that nobody uses.
>great, another game with RT I can't disable. rip fps
me literally every time
>40% of users
>nobody
no tech literate person uses DLSS or FSR either yet thats what both companies are going to focus on next gen. yuck.
What's wrong with the 4080?
it launched as a decoy product to push people to buy 4090s
As a Linux user, yes, I do.
works on my machine
AMD Shills work for fricking free lmao
So you are saying that you are getting paid by the jacket man?
a freudian slip indeed

Reminder Google Stadia ran off of AMD GPUs
Yes and it clearly showed. Look where they are now
I have 12 of the GPUs used from Stadia and they are surprisingly good if you can get them running.
>You need 12 and GPUs just to get the same performance as a Nvidia card lol
You're so clearly underage it hurts
>Linuxgays are the same moronic AMD shills
nvidiots are really going to be eaten alive when nvidia fully falls for the AI meme and ramps up the scamming holy frick
too stupid for linux and settings menus
>I lost but I'm going to make up stuff to fearmonger him.
freetards everyone
i'm someone else you moron
enjoy getting spitroasted by windows and nvidia lmao
>nvidia fully falls for the AI meme
AMD is following suit. they will be adding AI accelerator bloat chips to next generation cards.
>No it really doesn't
they work out of the box with no issues here with linux. if you cant figure it out thats your problem, not mine.
>You need 12 and GPUs just to get the same performance as a Nvidia card lol
>and
well at least now i know youre a phoneposter. benching these for compute gives compute power comparable to a 3070 with 180w less power draw. for gaming its roughly a 1070 per card. they work for the uses i need
i also have

also I love my 6900XTXH. the bin on this is insane. 150w with MPT and it still doing over 100fps in cyberpunk at 1440p ultra.
i find it especially funny because despite all this im also the most educated on the hardware itself and its kinda sad. i can ask a coworker for their specs and the concept of an iGPU is just lost on them. asked yesterday and they just said "heres what task manager says, also i seem to have 2 graphics cards?"
they had an i9-13980HK and a 2080 Super. every person in the company fails to even reply with their specs. nobody making these games know shit and its depressing
im the one that defines our minimum specs as well
Leak some games you guys make.
ive been considering it but given how poor our security is its gonna happen whether i do it or not
Are you people known?
Big studio or indie?
indie, not that known
Good luck on your game bro, hope it's good.
none of them are and ive been analyzing nvidia vs amd gpus for SteamVR shit. you wont believe the bugs im seeing in this shit and i hate every second of it
my name is in i think 8 shipped titles now? i need to make an alias to use if theres a game im on that i genuinely hate. i recently asked my boss to not put me on one project because of the content within the game. i COULD steer it off a cliff or i could let them succeed and just not be part of it. i threatened to leave if put on it anyway and they backed down because of how much weight im pulling being too hard to replace.
if this company was any bigger they would never allow for this
I've worked in some QA not related to gaming before, so I know how hellish it can be in terms of stupid shit people make everyday.
Hope you can find a better job somewhere, no one deserves this shit.
theres 2 QA people at this company as well (its a publisher). im also responsible for every console platform on the market right now and its exhausting having to repeat to the programmers the specifics of each platform. im not a programmer but i may as well be at this point. i got into an argument duing a presentation because our senior programmer didnt like that i summarized ps4 vs ps4 pro's gpu with "its basically the same just a little better" because he pointed to theoretical throughput in tflops. and while hes right, it was a basic overview for non-progammers. hes not wrong but holy shit dude frick off they barely even understand what the ps4 is let alone what fricking tflops are - which we wont even hit anyway because we're cpu bottlenecked thanks to his shitty code
Man, no matter the place, developers are a disgrace. That's why I'll never take their side if a game flops.
its okay anon, we're replaceable after all. it will cost them though if they lose someone like me or you. at the very least im running through my options before i leave. QA lead minimum or im out
I'm a dev and the QA vs. dev rivalry is part of the job. Trust me all the devs probably hate you more than you hate them.
Why can't devs just you know... Make quality games?
Incompetence crisis. Hopefully the purge is coming. I've seen my fair share of idiotic devs. Even one is enough to drag the team's productivity down. I'm not in gamedev but I imagine something similar is happening in all programming fields. People who only learn how to use high level tools and don't understand the underlying technology are a cancer on modern development.
>something similar is happening in all programming fields.
It's happening everywhere, every industry.
The failing upwards shit has never been more real and degrading.
i assure you i hate them a lot more. the one calling the shots is also the manager of technology and he refuses to budge on anything. hes also from brazil which makes doing shit harder. his word is law and even if hes wrong and making our lives harder, he has no choice soon. me and him are both bus factors to the point that either of us stopping for a day cripples development hard.
>upper management
>is from south america
>the whole company suffers
kek I've seen this exact shit before
it gets worse. he has 3 buildmachines all unstable as frick, and i have a threadripper at my disposal to handle building but he refuses to allow it to be usable in such a manner even if he was given full remote control over all factors. he single handedly causes too many problems on his own and this is the most basic of them. i illustrated this to the ceo (and many more things) and i am making him stressed thinking about the loss of money wasted on the bullshit this guy is creating. i wont go into too much detail but the fact that the only 2 technical people are fighting in the company and the one in management is getting slightly exposed for his bullshit is definitely not a good thing
Higher blood pressure.
does anyone here have a intel gpu? if yes how is your experience with it so far?
I dont have one but I know someone who does. The general experience is DX12/Vulkan will be okay and on par with whatever equivalent AMD/Nvidia gen like a 3060 or whatever. DX11,DX9 are broken and require DXVK. OpenGL is totally broken. Video acceleration is great.
I've had mine for 4 months without any problems. It's a nice change from my decade old 1080. Figured I'd give amd a try. After seeing how nvidia sales directly fund the IDF I believe I made the right choice.
Lol imagine being a slave to a corp. I'll buy whatever suits my needs, be it Nvidia, AMD or even Intel.
If it works fine at a fair price, I'm game.
you should stop kvetching and pay the premium poorgay
Vegeta sestre, gdje smo?
pogresan thread brate
WHY IS THERE A FRICKING WEB BROWSER IN MY GPU CONTROL PANEL???
You can't make this shit up kek
a webbrowser in your control panel
Almost bought one myself, but the fricky wacky European pricing at the time had this 4080 at msrp and every version of the 7900XTX was in between 1150 and 1300 euros.
From what I have seen, they are identical cards so expect triple digit frame rates at 1440p in properly optimized games.
high / throttling junction temperatures
OP fricked up - Ganker is an nvidia board and FUD is essential to maintain that, as this thread shows.
the options are as follows
>delusion
>useless
>that's a con because those are worse with amd
>poorgay
>doesn't happen
>amd shills
>yeah "sure"
>HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA
>I'm an amd fanboy
I hate both AMD and Nvidia. It's sad that you have to choose between
>the risk of huge driver issues
>buying a product from one of the scummiest companies to have ever existed
Fanboying for either one shows that you are a fricking dog
intel arc is your last option and you already know what the risk is. it has amazing potential but only if intel doesnt frick this up
>Intel arc
Ah, the second scummiest computer hardware company. It still beats Nvidia I guess. I want to like AMD but their GPU department is always playing catch up. Wish they were truly competitive in that field, in terms of both their hardware and software.
>Wish they were truly competitive in that field, in terms of both their hardware and software.
You don't really - you just want AMD to exist so nvidia lowers prices. AMD has had competitive products for nearly a decade and everyone went and bought nvidia.
I own an AMD GPU my guy. But the top of the line has been reserved by Nvidia for years and that's a fact.
>competitive products
Yes, in the mid range. Imagine if they were as competitive with their GPUs as the Ryzen series has been in the CPU market.
>But the top of the line has been reserved by Nvidia for years
Why does this matter for you if you don't buy top end cards?
>Imagine if they were as competitive with their GPUs as the Ryzen series has been in the CPU market
Ryzen spent 4 years in budget territory and still did great.
>AMD releases a card that truly rivals the 5090 across performance and features
>both companies are forced to gradually lower prices because they're both competing in the high range
>top of the line GPUs no longer cost $2K+
Intel arc is releasing new higher spec GPUs next year, so there's that.
>the risk of huge driver issues
Which one is this? NVIDIA? AMD? Both?
>buying a product from one of the scummiest companies to have ever existed
Going to join the Nestle boycott next? Who cares?
personally i also had driver issues with nvidia cards, currently i'm using a amd card, some of their drivers can cause some small issues, but it was never so bad that i had to ddu the drivers.
the battlemage cards sounds promising, but we will se how this will turn out.
I had a displeasure of owning an RX 480 at one point. Safe to say, I'm never buying an AMD gpu again. Been on Nvidia since and never had a single problem (1080ti, 3080, 4090)
Oh no, not the RX 480. Such a horrible GPU that it's still relevant and beating budget GPUs to this day.
the 480 has been shit from the start
It's OK to make mistakes. I forgive you for buying a 1060.
What kind of issues did you have? The only GPU I've ever had outright just die on me was an Nvidia one and I've been with AMD ever since. I guess we all swear off a brand based on our worst experience with it.
>"adrenaline" drivers and that whole app
>card would randomly black screen in games
>dogturd performance (upgraded from HD7970)
my RX 580 was the most reliable and best price/performance computer component I've ever had the pleasure of owning.
I even beat elden ring with decent graphical settings on that old friend.
think I had a driver issue one(1) time in the 3-4 years I owned it
I have a 6700xt, should i upgrade?
I thought I could play games on max settings at 144fps and qhd but i can't even thought the box said it could.
>MSG
literal poison
You mean literal protein, you fatass salted carbohydrate junkie
>the only modern release for single slot cards are a 4060 and a workstation 7600
i want to kill myself so much lads
get my first amd card
constant issues i never had with nvidia
the first being that is isn't green?
>he doesnt remember green amd
Radeon has never been green.
i got a 6800xt red devil last year. have fun bro. play some good games with it.
Let me solve this thread for you
>the 7800XT is a good card but not a substantial upgrade over the previous generation. It is a great purchase if you can find it at least 100€ cheaper than the 4070, but at a similar pricepoint it's slightly undercut
there you go
This is some weird botposting pasta
beep boop
the 6950XT is really good and its a little funny
i like my card it is BIG and SEXY and runs quiet no problem and it goes zoom when i play my emulated games :*~~))
i just really like blower fans ok?
The sexiest blower design was the 290x
you mean the worst
Sexy. Just performed like shit like every blower ever made.
pure plastic gaymer shit
picrel looks actually fricking nice
thats not the 5700
5700XT > 5700
>he likes the dent
frick off just because you can self-insert as the card doesnt mean its good
>design has a personality
>guy with none hates it
always
ill have you know i much prefer the blue pro-line but i cannot deny how nice the silver looks too. when you see these in person it makes sense. photos do not do these justice
5700XT > W5700
cute
If only you knew how wrong you were
I elected five completely random replies to reply to my post at
Do it.
You should expect some dicks in your mouth for being a pass user, homosexual.
see
rarely occurs for me and i do all sorts of stupid shit. im
. ive been nvidia-free since 2012 and dont regret it for a second
open air your mouth so you can blower my balls
blowers are literally made for peak industrial performance. batmobile uses a blower cooler to dissipate the hot engine.
op here, why do my low effort posts get 250+ replies but my quality posts always go straight to page 10? I mostly lurk for this reason.
>my quality posts
OP is always a homosexual
>I'm a proud troony
you do you "girl"
The algorithm demands engagement or something, I dunno. I've got a 6800 and love it. 400 bucks for stable performance in everything I've thrown at it and loads of VRAM seemed like a great deal, and it is.
9/10 you get the homosexuals on here that cry about going from nvidia to AMD and getting instability and they tell you they didn't DDU.
What should I expect?
it games
12gb of vram.
You can play videogames with those.
your next 8 year gpu
MSG is actually banned in some places in the middle east because of how addictive it is and how it makes you feel hungrier and turns you into a fatass.
I really need to upgrade from my 2060. But I'd also have to get a new PSU
Modern cards are also so huge I'm not sure how it'll do sitting so high in my ancient case and in my tiny motherboard
Welcome to the club
If the white one was available when I was in the market for a xtx I would've been all over that. I've always liked white gpus (galax makes a few but they are nvidia only).
It was the cheapest in Europe during september that's why I bought it.
No regrets the temps are very low (54 to 60 degrees), which would allow me to intensively overclock it without going above 84 degrees, won't do so because I prefer undervolting
>europe
Set up your own fan-curve and undervolt to 90%
To get shit on for having a thousand dollars to spend on a gpu and buying fricking amd
Who cares, your money is going to israel no matter who you buy.
>indians buy nvidia in droves
>Ganker shits on AMD
hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
inb4 picture of amd's team of indians accompanied with saar ples redeem the gpu
threadripper is based
A faulty vapor chamber design. U dun goofed
Why are high end gpu boxes so fricking big? It's a waste of cardboard and takes a lot of space to store.
Nvidia has more cultists than an extra crispy playthrough of Blood and boy do they spread the faith.
