Game just wanted finished. Server issues for ages, even after launch. Missing basic features like crimenet (or whatever it was called) only for people to find it in the game files, meaning the devs suddenly changed direction for whatever reason. Lack of content and polish. Etc etc etc. PD3 was the easiest lay up of all time, but corporate greed killed it. Game needed a year or two more at the very least.
>payday 2 has huge amount of content >the fun part of the game is grinding heists but having a large amount of build flexibility (besides on DSOD) compounded by most heists having loud or stealth methods >payday 3 has only 9 new heists >extremely poor build flexibility >heists themselves are nothing too special, additionally have already ported 2 old pd2 heists >leveling system is ass and removes reason to replay heists on anything other than loud >leveling system also forces grinding weapons so builds are a checklist rather than variety >"just ignore the lvls" nope, leveling system is required to engage with as it's how you get skill points >QOL improvements are good but nothing worth moving games over
>It's sad because gameplay wise I really prefer payday 2 to 3
So just play 2? It's not like that game is starved for content even after its final update
2 is just a drilling simulator, while payday 3 is more objective focused where you have to actually go out of your way to accomplish something while bleeding resources, instead of just mowing cops for sport while waiting for the drill to finish.
2's still great tho, both are good games at the end of the day.
He's not being disingenuous at all, most of the objectives serve the same function as the drill, that being something that you have to wait to complete and prevent from being stopped
So we're already moving goalposts that hard huh? You could say the same about pd3 funnily enough

Did you think their actual complaint about the game was just that it had drills in it

It's really sad the one map worth grinding in PD3 since the changes to how infamy gains work is more or less "Push the cart, drill, pick lockers, and then toss bags". In and out in 15 mins, map set up is clear and direct, nothing to worry about as the snipers are all stuck to 1 side of the map and the cop spawns are very clear cut.
Biggest issues though is how Edge, Grit, and Rush all work with one another, how tiny their respective buffs and short their timers are, yet are needed for every other skill to either work because it's active, or use up said buff for a better reward. Also body armor over normal is dead useless unless you get the perk so killing a cop insta restores the white bit with how a few stray shots breaks it off. Also the 4 chunk vest isn't worth the tradeoff from 3 chunk as it doesn't make each armor chunk stronger for the huge ass speed loss.
Most heists up to the White House are generally: >Get in >Set up a drill/hack >Wait >Move bags >GTFO
Sure there are exemptions like diamond store, cook off, boiling point, hotline Miami day one, beneath the mountain, and the elephants or hector heists (plus many post White House heists, which in retrospect were payday 3 design test runs) but payday 2 has the stereotype of a drilling simulator for a reason. All of the dentists heists, often considered some of the best in the game at the end of the day involve a lot of drilling.
Its just not a very good game. >build variety is a joke because everyone just runs goodstuffs.build >EDGE, GRIT, and RUSH limit the potential a build has >reworked armor system punishes fun because now everything is finite >progression completely fricked with grindy and finite challenges for infamy levels >guns are all just the basic AK, M16, Glock slop you've seen in every. fricking. game. >customization being barebones is an understatement. Your mask is everything and there's like 10 of them and most of them are ones no one used. Does anyone want to use the oversized cupid mask? I thought not. >New missions? That'll be $18. Oh, you just want the heist? $10. For one heist. Frick you.
If you haven't bought it yet, don't. Ever.
right I forgot about that, even before that actually. when the ''open beta server stress test'' broke servers instantly and they did nothing to prevent it from happening
>always online game >being good
pick one, it was rigged from the start
nu-hitman, but ''good'' is taken very broadly here. that game has so much other problems it's not funny anymore
lol just say you pirated it
and yeah the pirated version works but if I remember correctly half the things don't work like the guided storylines things or unlocks don't stay unlocked. the game works but only half
the funniest shit in this webm is not even the flying car, not even the server disconnect, not even the toy lego rifle, but the fact that he's playing in singleplayer with bots or being a host whatever and still getting DC'd because frick you
They had the potential to cook up a good successor to carry the torch, and instead they tripled down on arbitrary downgrades and dumb decisions, some for the sake of change and others downright moronic. And then they constantly go on social media and b***h at people for b***hing about how awful the game is while charging premium money for a HEIST FROM THE PREVIOUS GAME as DLC, with the high likelihood of MTX in the future to recoup sales losses.
It's unfinished garbage and anynone with half a braincell still pinging around in their skull could have seen this coming
Doesn't help that the new homosexual they hired to "balance out the game" is a pedo bara Vtuber that has insisted into doubleing down on the moronic balance changes and has no plan to fix the absolute chore of the challenge system.
Some maps didn't have favours FOR A FRICKING MONTH
That and the new DLC being overpriced garbage on top of a shit cake
The legacy heists sucked ass too, Turbid Station is fricking shit

maybe other one's been free like 10 times and people have nostalgia for it
pd3 shouldn't have been made in the first place, how could it compete with a game with 100 dlcs?
It had to be made because pd2's engine is an absolute nightmare to work with and the game was tearing apart at the seams.
>engine is an absolute nightmare to work with
then hire better devs
Chief the disel engine can't really handle jumping or hair with physics its not something you can salvage with any kind of costs efficiency.
Also most of the people that knew how it worked are long gone.
Easy cash grab. Frickers couldn't even do that.
Payday 2 has ten years of support behind it.
Payday 3 released with borked servers.
It's sad because gameplay wise I really prefer payday 2 to 3, but co-op games live and die on content.
Also payday 2 still goes on sale for like two dollars every major steam sale.
>It's sad because gameplay wise I really prefer payday 2 to 3

I mistyped lol, meant I prefer 3 to 2.

>dentist
>drilling
Of course
The new game isn't always the better game.
And no, graphics are not the only metric by which a game should be judged.
Gayday 3 sucks ass, simple as
Its just not a very good game.

>No fricking Locomotive
>No Para or Swedish K
I'm pissed
what's funnier is that a literal furry took over as game director for pd3
dead with a couple months (or weeks even), this has been very impressive
more like DOA, game was litterally not playable for 4 days at launch
right I forgot about that, even before that actually. when the ''open beta server stress test'' broke servers instantly and they did nothing to prevent it from happening
nu-hitman, but ''good'' is taken very broadly here. that game has so much other problems it's not funny anymore
Nu hitman has peawiener servers atleast, eventually they'll find a way to remove that first initial internet requirement
i remember playing the newest hitman game at "my friends house" its not always online
lol just say you pirated it
and yeah the pirated version works but if I remember correctly half the things don't work like the guided storylines things or unlocks don't stay unlocked. the game works but only half

Servers being broken on release
Challenges such as "Beat this heist 100 times" are the laziest and least form of grind implementation.
Heists very down to earth/simplistic in comparison to the crazy shit you did in PD2.
Man I still remember when there was that free weekend of the first game, so much fricking fun, how could they shit the bed this hard?
Post your go-to weapon, your personal problem solver, the one gun that consistently gave you the #1 spots on the result screen.

I haven't used you in a while, but I love you none the less
