And grim dawn was developed by the titan quest devs, you might as well say that Diablo 2 was a copy of Diablo 1, or that torchlight was a copy of Diablo 2.

diablo 2: outdated but still fun to play from time to time
diablo 3: "if you don't own this specific gear you will be a dead weight".
Diablo 4 : i refuse to give money to blizz so i didn't played it (even D3 was gifted to me, i refused to pay for the game)
consistently for over 20 years, FIFA has been even worse. moreso the last 10 years with FUT packs.
FIFA is the most successful western gacha franchise that managed to fleece men of all ages that despise anime into spending money on rolls for players, and then do it all again the next year in the new instalment

Some of the titan quest devs went on to found the company that made grim dawn. I think a fair analogy to the relationship between D2 and Torchlight.
One did, and then he later brought on an artist, after the company was founded. That was it.
