i think it's gotta be in preparation for a new game. i don't see why else aside from maybe the snacksworth questline, but you said they aren't even used in SV.
All that tells me is Johto confirmed
to make it more accurate for the new johto remakes

>items like the light stone, red orb, etc don't have data included are at least bulbapedia hasnt accounted for it
genuinely what does it mean, because they got new descriptions too
It was a mistranslation, "hane" can mean both wing and feather. It was dumb enough back in the original games (did they REALLY think you were carrying an entire fricking Lugia wing around? Those things are bigger than you), started looking really stupid when the items got sprites, and looked fricking moronic in the anime dub when characters would be holding a feather in their hand and go "this is a wing".
As a kid I came to associate those weird names with Japanese media, like it was just them trying to make things sound cool. Games and anime always had characters shouting out goofy names for stuff like Kamehameha in DBZ.
At the time, it REALLY wasn't clear what the hell the items even were. The translators probably assumed they were some kind of wing-shaped talisman or something.
maybe, but those games also gave us items like "PSNCUREBERRY," "PRZCUREBERRY," and "BLK APRICORN," so something like "RAINBOW FTHR" or "SILVER FTHR" wouldn't be unthinkable
Cry about it, cracker.
Black person is so obsessed that he assumes everyone with an opinion he doesn't agree with is white.
I don’t know but I’m blaming Unova and James turder

If these were unova items morons would be screaming up and down about how this confirms unova remakes
lol
It's not going to be an Unova game though.
let's see in pokemon day
im screenshotting this thread
I already have dozens of posts from them. Can't wait for the Unova games to be announced.
i'll have you know i'm a moron who believes this means johto confirmed
And when unova remakes do come you'll automatically think the same about Kalos fans.

these retcons are getting out of hand
>didn't change the japanese text
i wasn't counting on anyone being able to read the hiragana
Because ICY correctly called it a feather and because we're likely going back to Johto, they updated the name for the new games.

These are for Unova btw
What ended up happening with these? I imagine they'd be called Orichalcum Ore and Hadron Core.
i dont think anything came out of that in fact i dont even think you can get them in game still
They cant cum unless they make something about pokemon more homosexualy
Someone finally realized the item is a damn feather and renamed it accordingly
Mistranslation or character limits of the GameBoy games?
Probably, GSC item names don't go over 12 letters.
"What if they add genders in the next game?"
"It's Mr. Mime, now move on to the next one."

Wait...
Lugia has feathers?
Yes, it's a bird.
No, it's based on a plesiosaur.
obviously not or it wouldn't have feathers
