i don't know, i tried playing VLR 3 times and i dropped it 3 times before just skimming the story online, i only tried a bit of ZTD ages ago and everything bad it has can be said about VLR too. i'll finish ZTD and see if it can go below VLR (very unlikely)
Sean, Eric & Mira (3)
Suddenly, Sean's fist crashes through the plexiglass window.
"Aah!"
Mira jumps backward while Eric is frozen in shock.
"Wh-What are you-!"
Eric can't even finish speaking before Sean moves. Jumping through the broken window, he kicks the outside wall of the Visitor Room, causing it to crumble and reveal a giant hole. An alarm immediately starts blaring and police officers rush into the room, but Sean darts forward and takes them all down in a blink of an eye.
He holds his hand out to Mira. "Let's go!"
"Go... where...?"
"I know where the transporter is being stored."
"You're saying... we should go change history?" Eric finally stutters.
Sean nods. "To stop young Mira from committing murder. Mira, I'm pretty sure that's the only way you can clear your sins."
Mira stares out through the hole in the wall at the horizon extending beyond.
ZTD had two other writers besides Uchikoshi and Uchikoshi only wrote one, D-Team, so there's inconsistency with the quality. The game wouldn't have been a possibility if the series was not popular in the west so he was kinda forced into doing it. He wanted to make ZTD a standalone.
no, i've heard the infinity series is pretty cool and of course. 999 is good, probably the only one you should play unless you're curious about the other two.
honestly, ive no plans to play ai so i wouldn't know how to compare that with his other works
i genuinely liked this game just as much as 999. I dont see why people say the story was bad and wrapped up most of it except for the cliff hanger ending
Personally the presentation already makes it really hard to take the game seriously. Terrible animations, change of artstyle, random character redesigns (why is Akane's hair purple? Why did Phi completely change styles?).
But that I can somehawt see past if the rest is good, but it's not. Events border on absurd, you get random alien technology that no one bats an eye at, VLR sets up Sigma/Phi but the payoff for them, especially the latter, is weak. Kyle, as another anon brought up, is nowhere to be seen, the moral question of shifting is brought up but you have characters acting schizophrenic over it, I could go on.
No, the alternate ending and other plot threads were cut out of ZTD in rewrites, originally Snake was supposed to show up as well in ZTD.
Sigma in ZTD is Sigma, the same Sigma as the one who is sent back at the end of VLR
I fricking loved VLR, marathoned it in 48 hours 100% completion.
Too bad ZTD sucked in comparison, Diana and Miras breasts don't save it as hard as they try to.
The worst part about ZTD is that it set up ANOTHER game when Uchikoshi knew it would never be made.
It really felt like 999 but amped up and expanded on the themes of it, which is what a sequel should be.
Moments like Alice flip flopping trust or betray when you go back and choose the one you didn't choose first is crazy when you first experience it.
I also think that its really cool how different your first playthrough unravels depending on if do Dios ending first or not
The ending reveals the story is held by a thread, it relies on Sigma never looking at anything resembling a reflection, him not touching his eyes or face, no one asking what his eye thing is, Dio being a fricking STUPID moron DUMBASS, etc, etc.
But all of those things were set up by Sigma and Akane so that they would happen like that. Reflections are completely removed except for the pond in the garden.
I don't think people would be worried about his eye when K is walking around as a giant robot and they are speaking to an AI rabbit
The whole Titanic thing makes sense since the point is to make them (and you) believe they're in a sinking ship. Alice though, I can't tell if they changed their mind with VLR or it it was always meant to be a 'gotcha!'.
i haven't touched the second one but as far as the first one goes AI is fricking horrible murder mystery.
every clues that the game gives you leads to nothing because in the last 10% of the game goes, oh btw this machine has this supernatural power and the whole mystery is just this power also under no circumstance i should tell you about it, oh why did i just tell you? because i was feeling like it.
i could go on and on about how shit the story of the game is but since the writer didn't want to thought about his story then why should i
are inherently better because
what, too many letters for your peabrain to handle? No problem - there are enough cinematic masterpieces as well. Hopefully watching a 90 minute movie would be easier for you
The whole thing working relies on Dio being a braindead moron, apparently nobody saw it fit to mention Sigma's eye thing, whenever Sigma flirts with the girls no one tells him he's a disgusting old man, also he never found out he's an old man by hearing his own voice or seeing his own reflection EVER, radical 6 making it so no one notices that they are on the moon is moron omega level of logic because there are more ways to find out you are in a place with different gravity than feeling floaty or things falling, characters choose wen to be literally Albert Einstein or complete morons, etc.

You named plot contrivances, not a single of which makes the events of the game prior to the ending feeling pointless.
Unironically the best way to experience ZTD was through this stream, I haven't laughed that hard in a while.
Last time I played ZTD was 6 years ago or w/e and I did not remember it being that janky.
ZE still holds a special place in my heart even though it's pretty moronic most of the time.
I experienced the entire series through his streams, frick "playing" visual novels, though I disagree with his opinions VLR is clearly the best one. 999 is too boring and ZTD is literally moronic
i kind wish uchikoshi would work with the persona team at atlus. the atlus team could focus on creating good characters while uchikoshi could create the the overall plot
still better than virgin last moron
How so?
It isn't, that anon is clinically deranged.
i don't know, i tried playing VLR 3 times and i dropped it 3 times before just skimming the story online, i only tried a bit of ZTD ages ago and everything bad it has can be said about VLR too. i'll finish ZTD and see if it can go below VLR (very unlikely)
>hasn't actually played ZTD
Oh, sweet summer child. You'll learn.
my body is ready
bro... I... I'm sorry, if you can't handle VLR then the rest of ZTD will kill you

aliens
Complex!
>went from beloved to total hack to woke hack over the last decade
Sasuga Uchikoshi.
Damn brat…
I'll sue!
CARLOS, YOU butthole! YOU GOT IT WRONG!
WHAT THE FRICK IS THAT STUPID THING ON YOUR HEAD?
SHUT THE HELL UP, YOU FRICKING BRAT!
MIRA IS MY ANGEL!
why does phi look like that
I still can't bring myself to finish it, I hate it.
It's really tough to make a game so bad you retroactively make the previous games worse but frick me they did it.
the animation is so bad that it makes it a truly disturbing thriller in its uncanniness
>ZTD had two other writers besides Uchikoshi
Why am I not surprised? It was so obvious while playing it
Who wrote C team? It's the best team. I hope whoever wrote Q already kill himself though.
Delta being out of screen wasn't the issue since there are numerous clues but his motivations are complexly moronic
Are uchikoshi's other works as bad as Ai TSF?
no, i've heard the infinity series is pretty cool and of course. 999 is good, probably the only one you should play unless you're curious about the other two.
honestly, ive no plans to play ai so i wouldn't know how to compare that with his other works
999 and VLR are the only ones I would recommend.
dont play VLR unless you want to feel compelled to play the shitheap that is ZTD
Play 999 and VLR and pretend that ZTD was cancelled and never released
>that image
Just stay away from my franchise you tasteless filth.
999 is his most iconic and original work.
hoeeeee~
What does Cardcaptor Sakura have to do with Zero Time Dilemma???
both are shit.
i genuinely liked this game just as much as 999. I dont see why people say the story was bad and wrapped up most of it except for the cliff hanger ending
my only criticism is changing jumpy to grumpy
nah, bitter and jaded junpei was great.
Personally the presentation already makes it really hard to take the game seriously. Terrible animations, change of artstyle, random character redesigns (why is Akane's hair purple? Why did Phi completely change styles?).

i dotn see how kyle would exist at at this point in time since he's a clone of sigma. He created the clone after the catastrophe
?t=2021
so that character we play in ztd is kyle, not sigma then. But its kyle who believes he's sigma, not kyle?
No, the alternate ending and other plot threads were cut out of ZTD in rewrites, originally Snake was supposed to show up as well in ZTD.
Sigma in ZTD is Sigma, the same Sigma as the one who is sent back at the end of VLR
No, the alternative ending is from the perspective of Kyle's body (the one that was in the pod). The rest of the game is from Sigma's perspective.
So was Phi always supposed to be sigma's daughter, or was it an asspull in ztd?
Where's Kyle?
up uchikoshi's ass
Where is he?
I loved it.
yeah, i went into ztd expecting it to be some sort of unprecedented trainwreck, but it was good. i certainly enjoyed it more than I did vlr
>defending a lying conman
An hero, homosexual.
Reminder Uchikoshi threw out his original ZTD script and gave us the trainwreck we got instead
I fricking loved VLR, marathoned it in 48 hours 100% completion.
Too bad ZTD sucked in comparison, Diana and Miras breasts don't save it as hard as they try to.

VLR is an awesome experience. I don't get the people that hate on it. I'd even put it above 999
It really felt like 999 but amped up and expanded on the themes of it, which is what a sequel should be.

>Reflections are completely removed
they're not though
I don't understand why they didn't just give him a fake eye, him having a weird eye thing instead has no added story relevance.
Because Uchi is a fricking moron who can't sell a twist to save his life.
The whole Titanic thing makes sense since the point is to make them (and you) believe they're in a sinking ship. Alice though, I can't tell if they changed their mind with VLR or it it was always meant to be a 'gotcha!'.
Unironically worth your time unlike VLR which consists of like 70% padding with an end full of terrible twists.
Ai is 80% padding
Atleast the padding in AI is entertaining and not even close to 80% while VLR is full of wiki dumps and other shit that lead to godawful twists
pretty good murder mystery. Just wish there was no weeb shit and Japanese media took itself seriously for once
how's nirvana initiative any way?
You're gonna hate nirvana initiative, it's 200% more wacky and more anime and less serious than somnium files
i haven't touched the second one but as far as the first one goes AI is fricking horrible murder mystery.
every clues that the game gives you leads to nothing because in the last 10% of the game goes, oh btw this machine has this supernatural power and the whole mystery is just this power also under no circumstance i should tell you about it, oh why did i just tell you? because i was feeling like it.

you can shill ztd all you want but pulling 999 a genuine masterpiece down to do it is a terrible fricking idea
>999 a genuine masterpiece
i like it, but if you think it's a masterpiece, then go read some fricking literature jesus christ
>its not a masterpiece because... its just not okay?!
>books are inherently better because... they just are okay?!
are inherently better because
what, too many letters for your peabrain to handle? No problem - there are enough cinematic masterpieces as well. Hopefully watching a 90 minute movie would be easier for you
lets have a few examplesof what you think are masterieces in vn and literature, yeah?
>masterieces in vn
don't know any, i'm not big on vn
>literature
crime and punishment, odyssey, divine comedy, master and margarita,
>Zero Escape > Danganronpa >>> Ace Attorney
>999 > ZTD >>> VLR
Kinda based i must say.
Did he get filtered by the puzzles in VLR or what?
no he's an insane critic
This doesn't tell me anything.
Anyone with a brain knows the ending makes the entire thing feel pointless for a dozen reasons.
Name half a dozen.
So his critique is that VLR isn't crazy enough?
What a fricking moron
>an e-celeb starts streaming game
>game threads start popping on Ganker
interedasting
>hits betray 5 times at the AB game
My fricking coins
Unironically the best way to experience ZTD was through this stream, I haven't laughed that hard in a while.
Last time I played ZTD was 6 years ago or w/e and I did not remember it being that janky.

I experienced the entire series through his streams, frick "playing" visual novels, though I disagree with his opinions VLR is clearly the best one. 999 is too boring and ZTD is literally moronic
I just wish it was an actual visual novel and not the movie shit with bad animations we got
Does anyone have a mega for the patch?
Reminder that this game was made as a result of a fan campaign to get a sequel to VLR, and then proceeded to not be a sequel to VLR
i kind wish uchikoshi would work with the persona team at atlus. the atlus team could focus on creating good characters while uchikoshi could create the the overall plot
Snail strikes again
Ai TSF and AiNi are shit
game was a solid 8/10 even with all the bullshit
999 was never good.
