read the novel, then watch the movie, and then play the first game (including the EX-game). if you read the novel first you'll see how stupid the game's story is and how the game butchered some concepts.
this game has terrible game design. it's a great game, but most of the fun parts of the game take place in the EX-game, specifically floors 51-60 and 61-70. the main game just feels like a warmup tutorial for the Chrysler Building. a game were the EX-game is better and more exciting than the main game doesn't have good game design.
you don't have to grind much at all. I leveled up from 34 to 36 naturally, and I got a shit ton of bonus points. 61-70 is where you get the cyanide rounds, cr armor 2 and the triple command, and I also increased both my attack and defense by 100 points each.
it's actually the main story that actually has no challenge or anything fun (besides maybe beating the warehouse before chinatown). The Chrysler Building is where all the fun is.
You literally spend most of your time grinding in the zoo for the best gun in the game so you can steamroll everything. Chrysler Building isn't even grindy by any means, it's just too long for it's own good.
yeah but you don't need it. I beat floors 2-50 with just my main game gun without issue (minus the wienerroach which was a bit tough) and once you get your endgame weapons on floors 51-60 or 61-70 along with the cyanide effect you're already OP.
The point was that the Chrysler Building isn't even a real grind, getting the junk at the zoo is the real grind of the game. You can easily beat the game without doing that, there's no grinding necessary.
Going up 70 floors of a repeating environment that is seemingly endless unless you know it has an end, that sounds like a grind to me. I have no desire to play the same level 70 times in a row for the same reason I don't play Pac-Man or space Invaders

I think what makes the Chrysler Building fun is searching for the attics for the chests on each floor and seeing what cool things you get.
the main game is good the 1st and maybe 2nd time you play the game but after knowing the story and the gameplay, you're just using the main story to get bonus points and weapons and (super) tools to prepare for the Chrysler Building. the main game doesn't provide any challenge at all.
there's a postgame? i honestly had no fricking clue what i was doing with weapon mods and probably ended up ruining every gun i touched, barely beat the final boss
The truth. Idk how people are OK with an actual parasite living inside them. I mean its symbiotic sure. But that doesnt change the fact that its an actual fricking parasite. This game is unironically one of the scariest games ever because it could all actually happen.
I've been wanting to read the novel but I can't find an actual physical copy anywhere which fricking sucks. I hate reading books on my tablet and my PC. I guess I might have to though in this case.
I view PE as an analogy for addiction. like when you're addicted to porn and get horny, a "voice" that's not you takes over your body and makes you want to coom and watch porn, and when you cum and get post-nut clarity you get your senses back and regret what you did.
>and when you cum and get post-nut clarity you get your senses back and regret what you did.
Not really, I feel relaxed, you need to work that out, bro.
last week I beat the Chrysler building in Round 2. it was really fun. I thought the Chrysler Building in round 2 would kick my ass (couldn't even get past the wienerroach the first time I tried) but I went all the way up to the 50th floor with the main game weapon and armor, got the endgame machine gun in floors 51-60 and got the endgame armor in floors 61-70. I never even needed to use liberation. in floors 61-70 I leveled up to 99 and beat the Bee and Eve like they were nothing.
I honestly think if you beat the Chrysler Building past round 2 you didn't really beat it, because all the challenge is gone when you get more bonus points from the main game.
God I fricking loved the gameplay of PE1
play 2 and The Third Birthday lol, I actually liked that they tried a lot of shit (even with the 3rd Birthday)
I love the music in this game quite a bit, specifically the fight tracks. Anyone who knows music know what genres those would be classified as? They're a pretty distinct sound I don't know what the frick I would search for that. Also this game scared me when I was 5 my mom had it and that rat transformation had my eyes bugging out.
the battle theme is actually the only song from the game i don't like. it just doesn't fit. it's relaxing chill music while you're shooting done mutated animals trying to kill you. the last 20 floors of the Chrysler Building did the right thing by not playing it.
that's a separate incident, but the story refers to the novel's events.
is third birthday canon?
it heavily departs from the central core of the novel and pe1. Even pe2 strays a bit and takes a few liberties but manages to keep the central core relevant, but I enjoy pe1 and pe2. All I can say for pe3 is that its a game.
Parasite Eve, likely.
a good game for a change you zoomerslop
Like said, a good classic game for a change.
>>>/vr/
Go there yourself homosexual
fricking an hero you stupid homosexual
pretty good time, be it 1 play through or a more focused weapon build chrysler building playthough
Go frick yourself
if you think the game is fricked up, read the novel
different anon here.
Which should I do first?
read the novel, then watch the movie, and then play the first game (including the EX-game). if you read the novel first you'll see how stupid the game's story is and how the game butchered some concepts.
don't bother with the second or third games
this game has terrible game design. it's a great game, but most of the fun parts of the game take place in the EX-game, specifically floors 51-60 and 61-70. the main game just feels like a warmup tutorial for the Chrysler Building. a game were the EX-game is better and more exciting than the main game doesn't have good game design.
>The grinding part is the best part
Ohhh frick off fatlus homosexuals

i beat the game in 98, still have never ran the Chrysler building, and think it's better than PE2.
You literally spend most of your time grinding in the zoo for the best gun in the game so you can steamroll everything. Chrysler Building isn't even grindy by any means, it's just too long for it's own good.
>You literally spend most of your time grinding in the zoo for the best gun in the game so you can steamroll everything
>junk weapons
you didn't beat the game
The DE50AE7 is the best weapon in the game, period.
yeah but you don't need it. I beat floors 2-50 with just my main game gun without issue (minus the wienerroach which was a bit tough) and once you get your endgame weapons on floors 51-60 or 61-70 along with the cyanide effect you're already OP.
No, I never grinded in the zoo and I still ended up with a pretty powerful character by end of game
The point was that the Chrysler Building isn't even a real grind, getting the junk at the zoo is the real grind of the game. You can easily beat the game without doing that, there's no grinding necessary.

Its fun as hell for a casual run but then there's an extra dungeon that gives you a chance to put your absurdly broken guns to the test.
??
It sounds like your idea of "good game design" comes from youtubers.
the main game is good the 1st and maybe 2nd time you play the game but after knowing the story and the gameplay, you're just using the main story to get bonus points and weapons and (super) tools to prepare for the Chrysler Building. the main game doesn't provide any challenge at all.
and I haven't been to youtube for 4 years
there's a postgame? i honestly had no fricking clue what i was doing with weapon mods and probably ended up ruining every gun i touched, barely beat the final boss

if you think the game is weird, read the novel. the novel is so fricked up, and it's so awesome.
I've been wanting to read the novel but I can't find an actual physical copy anywhere which fricking sucks. I hate reading books on my tablet and my PC. I guess I might have to though in this case.
aren't they on ebay or amazon?
watch the movie too while you're at it

I get relaxed if I don't watch porn but if I do I feel like shit. I'm trying to stop watching porn.
the end of Golden Age Square.

but loses to Koudelka
A masterpiece.
God I fricking loved the gameplay of PE1

I had more fun with 3rd birthday than 2. the story was fricking awful but the gameplay and even some of the music makes up for it
but both are shit compared to PE1 and completely scraped all the concepts of the novel
The third game isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
so how is Mazuki Anzai Aya's and Maya's mom? Mazuki was 14 in 1995, Aya was 25 in 1997 and Maya would've been 33 in 1997.
I love the music in this game quite a bit, specifically the fight tracks. Anyone who knows music know what genres those would be classified as? The mitochondria...
It's the power house of the cell.
le weird and fricked up as hell hidden gem retro graphics CREEPY and WEIRD BODY HORROR JAPANESE
is third birthday canon?
only the novel is cannon. none of the games can be cannon because Mazuki cannot be Aya and Maya's mom (
)
that's a separate incident, but the story refers to the novel's events.

Shame the damn thing's been out of print for like....twelve years by now, I think.
A classic
