Huh I was sure it happened with 4. But it will come to that as well. They have limited time with the licenses and at some point they'd not sell enough to continue having it on the store. Though they'd still be playable in singleplayer

MS being cheapskates is the problem. I bet they thought they could get away with a 4 year license but the sequel took more to be made.

It's pretty funny when you think about it.
They spent 3x the dev time of any other mainline game in the series and it still launched barebones somehow.
They released it a year and a half after Gran Turismo 7 and yet it looks and plays worse despite GT7 being cross-gen and this piece of shit being next-gen only.
You really have to wonder just what exactly these fricktards have been doing all these years. I guess it's the so called microsoft magic - give studios unlimited budgets and dev time, establish no rules, hire people based on their race/gender/sexuality instead of merit and hope a good game gets made someday, somehow.

What happened? Well, on consoles it had to compete with GT7 and it flat out lost and on PC you have so many other alternatives that are better than Forza.
The only Forza worth buying is Horizon, but only if you want a game to do benchmark tests.

Sheer incompetence and microsofts corporate mismanagement, which has now become endemic not just in gaming but software in general. It seems that the art of writing good software on a fundamental level is becoming utterly lost from the corporate world, every major release is just an absolute mess in every way. Maybe its all the pajeet outsourcing, but there is a major competency crisis in the industry. This game in particular is just the perfect example, its utterly broken in so many basic ways and of course they add insult to injury by wrapping it in a predatory skinner box business model. Its particularly baffling in this case because horizon solved all these technical problems already, I know they're different studios but just share the fricking code. FM8 is a regression in every possible way.

      Anonymous

Well you know the answer, no need to beat around the bush. It's more important to them to learn how to sell to an idoit than go through the effort of making a proper product. So hiring filth to regurgitate concepts that have already been accomplished by people who inherently want higher pay is just the way to go from a corporate perspective.

What really happened, people wanted to play a racing sim like they do Horizon. Them just gunning it all the time didn't work out so they stopped playing or gave it a bad review. Some of the cars are hard to control and take a featherlight touch from spinning out and going into a wall, there's a learning curve there that some people didn't expect.

These sims are for people that have sim setups, playing a IRL racing sim on a controller is going to be weird. But spending all that money on a legit sim set up, you might as well just put that money towards something you can actually drive.

I paid 300 bucks for my DD wheel. To be fair though, that was just for the wheel. Needed to spend another 200 bucks on load cell pedals, and a hundred bucks on a rig that could cope with 10Nm+ forces.

I used to think the same way and whine about boohoo weres burnout etc.. I bought a sim rig to get used to manual shifting in real life then realised sim racers are 100x more fun than the arcade games. Sim aesthetics are still coma inducing since I don't give a shit about Cars or motorsport but mechanically they are very fun.

If you're on PC, why would you choose Forza? If you want to play a serious racing game, there's already a bunch of cool sims to choose from, and Forza isn't arcadey enough to be a proper arcade game so it's in this weird middle ground. I assume it's doing alright on Xbox since it's basically the Gran Turismo of Xbox, but if I was on PC I don't know why I wouldn't just play ACC or iRenting or something
