It doesn't matter what it's about anymore, the person who laid everything down for the story mode and setting got booted off and his creative baby stolen. Ubisoft took this grounded and interesting setting and added bullshit after layer of bullshit.
They added literal magic, dragons, guns, Jormungandr (Not the class name, literally the giant ass snake), and stupid ass emotes.
Every character needs to have a fully visible face now, they introduce new factions left and right, and they dumb down the gameplay more and more.
Ubisoft being an open world slop monger didn't make me hate them; their raping of this ip has.
The gameplay's MOBA elements only go as far as having minions on one point on the capture point gamemode. Otherwise it's closer to something like a fighting game but with Chivalry/Mount and Blade targeting. I have to say that it's completely unique. There's no other game quite like it, but not necessarily in a good way.
>Every character needs to have a fully visible face now
I stopped playing the game because of the CCU making the combat feel less weighty and impactful, and this change still somehow annoys me more.
I LIKED that the characters were all masked goons. WHAT'S WRONG WITH MASKED GOONS?
Same thing happened with Siege. Thankfully it isn't as bad here because unlike Siege there's canonically multiple Wardens and Kenseis in FH, but it still sucks. They tried to make the chink classes to have canon names and shit
this is the exact fricking shit that pissed me off and made me drop the game.
It was also worsened by many other issues that similary affected the game's setting and feel >new animation team is now shit >they reduced the damage massively to appease compgays, now you need 5 overhead massive swings of a claymore to kill the average hp hero
>its league of legends in third person but with QTE based versus combat and even more pay to win shit
This is so far off this has to be a bot post, ignore.
You seem to missing what pirate is >first ever character that straight up have a gun >"maybe it will be some new mechanic like happy chaos from guilty gear" >it's a bash >Gender locked chink >gender locked chink with name being "pirate", meaning no beard, no rum, no golden teeth, no laughing, ever. Because if they added some good looking pirate how would they name him? Pirate is taken >she is unbalanced as frick to this day, mostly because her moveset is forcing 50/50 on every move with little to no downsides, hyperarmor and recovery cancels for the flavor too >All of the armor sets ugly as sin except one helmet where you at least can't see half of her face >even in lore garbage character that just can be thrown away with nothing of value lost
They should have added some sort of TDM gamemode. Point capture bullshit makes my blood boil, breach is even worse because pikemen interrupt executions.
Combat overhaul made the combat way less fun for me. If people b***h about turtling couse the punishment for getting parried was too severe, maybe nerf parrying? Instead we get to spam attacks that do way less damage but are faster way less weighty, couse apparently thats more e-sport friendly. Suck a dick Freeze, you brown esl wienersucker, unironically, this whinny homosexual was a big reason Ubisoft shat up this game.
Ccu is not the worst option they could take, if anything it's just a way of ubisoft trouble solving - just take an easiest path possible even if it backfires
Parrying is so deep in the core of the game so nerfing it would mean even bigger combat overhaul, with multiple reworks, because there is still some characters that rely on parry punishes, with one being completely based on that, note that before ccu there is also weren't a lot of bashes like now, orochi used to just throw raw top heavies as opener
I agree with that anon, though, CCU changed how the combat felt and not in a good way, at least to me as well as him. Prior to it, moves were a bit slow/reactable but they did DAMAGE, like you'd expect hitting someone with a sword or flail or what have you to do. Making moves faster and less hard-hitting was not a good option in my opinion.
Higher damage meant you die faster too, remember aramusha? His infinite chain of heavies 40 damage each? It is natural to game with some depth getting sweaty, you can't just get away with throwing random shit no matter how satisfying it was, it somewhat similar to ttk im shooters, low ttk rewarded positioning, which basically means getting headshot from somewhere you didn't look, while high ttk gives you a chance to outplay somebody, low ttk in for honor rewarded parrying turtles because that was only guaranteed way to deal a lot of damage, and it doesn't actually takes a lot of skill, high ttk in fh gave options to get bigger movesets, more specific chance to use them, but they still mostly are bashes
I prefer low ttk shooters though, and am not a fan of high ttk games like fighting games. For Honor was the closest thing to a fighting game (that wasn't one) I enjoyed and now I don't any more, which makes me sad.
Probably better off though, since PVP makes me mad in general so I just play stuff like Warband if I want a melee combat fix.
Of course the game needed a lot of damage nerfs, some things were just absolutely ridiculous. But theres a huge gap between nerfing the damage that needed to be nerfed and the current state of the game, where many things deal so low damage that they entirely lost their sense of weight
>maybe nerf parrying?
no, we needed more offensive attacks. >spam attacks that do way less damage
the damage nerf was fricking ridiculous for the health of the game, it just feels shitty now, no weight at all when paired with the new animation team. They literally just needed to make characters have more than 1 or 2 unreactable mixups, 3-4 would be great enough.
post scriptum
parrying shouldnt have been nerfed as a *blanket statement*. Mechanically it was fine, what wasnt fine was having heroes dealing 40+ damage on a light parry or heroes dealing 25+ on a heavy parry.
it ultimately just boiled down to a balance. You could nerf a few select moves across the cast, making the game not only feel better competitively but also mantain the gamefeel and the weight of attacks. instead they decided to completely frick over the damage of everything in exchange of a minority of the playerbase, which mind you, i was a part of
Parrying always resets to neutral if you aren't playing lb, if lb parries you, you are in his strongest mixup already
And resetting to neutral is very unfun, you just smack them one time and get some chain going, but flow was stopped, honestly people should just take nobushi or highlander pill, or at least play assassins and instead of parrying doing only deflect, deflect is already such a good replacement to parry it isn't funny
>For Honor is still online
Does this game still even have a playerbase? I forgot it existed.
t. was one of the many crying about shugoki's charge like 5 years ago
His only strong move is bash dodge attack where weapon fly through his head, I think he is pretty bad right now, but I'm not an expert, his trading is pretty good, but it was always there
Neutral hug is awful, on par with longarm imo
It still has a dedicated playerbase because there is nothing else like it
I'm not part of said playerbase anymore btw, don't like the game anymore. Also people are less fun now and pissed all the time because they hate the game but can't stop themselves from playing
bömp

Yeah but, what is the game about? How does it work? What's the gameplay like?
I thought it was a MOBA?
It's a team vs team game but with melee combat, you just fight guys on a map and try to capture spots
The gameplay's MOBA elements only go as far as having minions on one point on the capture point gamemode. Otherwise it's closer to something like a fighting game but with Chivalry/Mount and Blade targeting. I have to say that it's completely unique. Just needs another company to make a game with similar combat
Whoever decided to add all the magic bullshit and universal executions should be shot in the back of the head.

Same thing happened with Siege. Thankfully it isn't as bad here because unlike Siege there's canonically multiple Wardens and Kenseis in FH, but it still sucks. They tried to make the chink classes to have canon names and shit
I played it early on, really enjoyed the story especially the character of Apollyon even though some of the missions got repetitive.
this is the exact fricking shit that pissed me off and made me drop the game.
It was also worsened by many other issues that similary affected the game's setting and feel

to be fair the team must be paid in promises and peanuts now. I'm surprised they haven't pulled the plug two years ago
RAH
its league of legends in third person but with QTE based versus combat and even more pay to win shit

Well, there's still swashbuckler
its about fighting the enemy team and its still one of the most played fighters out there
They should have added some sort of TDM gamemode. Point capture bullshit makes my blood boil, breach is even worse because pikemen interrupt executions.
>t.prestige lvl 3 scrub
>TDM gamemode
That already does exist.

They nerfed Shugoki and made him stronger
His only strong move is bash dodge attack where weapon fly through his head, I think he is pretty bad right now, but I'm not an expert, his trading is pretty good, but it was always there
Neutral hug is awful, on par with longarm imo
you can still do a single combo kill and come out with full stamina which is more than he deserves
It still has a dedicated playerbase because there is nothing else like it
I'm not part of said playerbase anymore btw, don't like the game anymore. Also people are less fun now and pissed all the time because they hate the game but can't stop themselves from playing
everytime i play this game my pc starts crashing until i uninstall it, its like god himself telling me to stop playing it
Lol it was the only game that gave me bluescreens at completely random moments. I doesn't want to be played
It's basically a multiplayer fighting game with some slight MOBA mechanics and some slight traditional FPS mechanics like point capture.
