Haha wow, yeah the Qun sounds very sustainable for a culture.
So much for the whole of body. >wants you to act selfish >wants you to actively abandon people in need of help >Qun states that each individual is part of the whole body
tf was their problem?
Didnt he kill children and go "lmao who gives a shit" if I remember right? Frick him he stays in the cage every playthrough so I don't need to listen to his b***hing
>Get ambushed by a swarm of Darkspawn >Entire platoon is killed >Somehow survive and even manage to avoid the blight disease >Oops, looses a shitty steel sword >ape out and kill the entire family that saved you >Get saved from punishment by some random weirdo with a ragtag band of psychos that need a big guy with a sword >Quickly and easily get sword back after joining >Watch it get thrown into the Haven chest because it sucks dick compared to the dragonbone warhammer you found in some evil wizards broom closet
The one thing fantasy writers never seem to get right are when they try to write warrior-culture honor bound types like Sten and the Qunari. There is always some sort of autism blended in that would make no practical sense to a people who have moved past the bronze age.
>have a society where you are assigned your job at birth and you can never change it. If you try, you will be branded an outcast and a traitor to be shot on sight >lol you can just change your gender though, its no big deal!
You forgot about the Felicia Day self-insert from 2 aka an elf woman that's a warrior-spy for the Qun that keeps disobeying direct orders and is not only never punished but given new orders you then help her with
I thought dragon age 2 was one of those games that maybe I just thought it was bad because I was directly comparing it to how good dragon age 1 was and I replayed it this year after about 10+ years to test that theory if it would be alright with my a clean slate
it wasn't it is still the worst fricking sequel I have ever played it makes mass effect 3 look like a masterpiece
It was also the first time Bioware produced a true pile of shit. As much as Mass Effect 3 and Dragin Age Inquisition are hated, they are very fun to play, only marred by specific failings that are mostly ignorable.
DA:I is so much worse than 2 Black person what the frick are you on about?

Wrong moron. Everything bad about DA:I is pretty much optional. Lesbian elf archer? Bisexual Qunari moron? Bloated mmo collecting quests? Excessive number locations? Skip, skip, skip, skip.
>DA2
Unskippable copy paste levels. Retconned DAO lore and characters for no reason
Combat comparable to Korean mmo
Over saturated color scheme
Highest percentage of shit companions in a bioware game literally to this day.
Aveline: boring ginger tank
Carver/Bethany: no personality
Anders: Gay terrorist
Isabel: traitor
Fenris: emo edgy fujo bait
Merril: moron blood mage
Sebastien: dlc and zero personality
Varric is the only slightly endurable companion.

It's infinitely more fun to actually play than DA2, or anything Bethesda has put out without mods you queer.

That's a pretty strong statement. Every single enemy is a damage sponge, it IS fun to play the game with something that can oneshot them anyway (i.e. Rogue)
>I thought dragon age 2 was one of those games that maybe I just thought it was bad because I was directly comparing it to how good dragon age 1 was
kek what an insane thought
The demo with ANOTHER WAVE stopped me from buying the game day 1, and the game itself stopped me being a biodrone forever
I liked 2 more than 1
1 pulled from so much western fantasy that if you've read more than 5 or so popular series the beginning was such a slog and it takes too long for the setting to distinguish itself
I liked the best parts of 1 more than 2, but I wasn't having fun with the first game until I was almost done. Then like 2 of the DLCs were a slog, and the rest of the DLC was fun and way better than the base game.
2's story started off fun.
Neither really have gameplay worth writing home about. Yeah, doing the same areas for quests over and over in 2 was a pain, but 1's Fade and Deeproads made me want to stick a pencil through my eye in comparison so it evens out there.
I could tell by the character's introduction alone that this character was going to be garbage.
The whole "Super skilled character effortlessly kills an army of goons" might fly in a wuxia film or an action hero story but this is fricking medieval dark fantasy and Hawk doesn't even try to do anything. I wasn't surprised after seeing this that Felicia herself wrote for this DLC.
You can't even betray her. I tried leaving from the dungeons through the front gate, said to the Orlesian homosexual that I didn't want to fight and that he could bag the elf and leave me alone. He refuses. FRICK IT, FINE.
Move through the caves as devs intended until the fork on the road, Knife-ear asks to make a detour for some reason I can't remember(I played the dlc only a week ago), see the option to leave her thinking that's the early end of the DLC. NOPE. The game forces you to backtrack ALL THE WAY with only 2 party members because you left the elf. AND THEN IT TURNS OUT THE THING THIS b***h WAS LOOKING FOR WASN'T ACTUALLY THERE, SO THERE WAS NO REASON TO GO WITH HER IN THE FIRST PLACE. Had to fight the Orlesian homosexual who I didn't want to kill, but actually support to hurt the Qunnary. Game won't let me. It doesn't even allow you to steal the documents with Qun spy names from the elf. FRICK Mark of the Assassin. Worst DLC after Golems.
Why lie about this? Het whole DLC is about how she was demoted to being a low tier servant for fricking up and then getting you to help her do this heist to get back in the good graces of her masters.
Why lie about this? She was rescued from slavery by a qunari that had her become a spy/assassin for the qun but she fricked this up constantly so hard because of "muh morals" that she was demoted to a laborer. After that she was basically promoted again and given the task to track down a rogue qunari mage and AGAIN defies her orders and kills the mage instead of capturing him because she was angry that the mage killed her friend.
She repeteadly disobeys her direct orders and allows her emotions to get in the way of her judgment, and this is long before you meet her in her donutsteel DLC.
Whatever his problem was gets retconned along with the Qunari in later games when it turns out that no, Sten was just an butthole and hid behind his cultural baggage
yeah but luckily by the time you meet him you've already given DA3 the amount of time needed to say you gave the game a fair chance before you uninstall it and never play it again
3 was only good in the gameplay department and only if you're an FPSbro. The RPG aspects sucked. The story was complete dogshit even without the ending (Legion death lmao, Mordin death double lmao)
>The RPG aspects sucked
Is this before or after it added back more RPG elements after 2 stripped them all completely? >weapon mods >weapon loadout affecting cooldowns >non-linear skill trees for both you and your squadmates >more build variety
>Legion death lmao, Mordin death double lmao
This still bothers me to this fricking day. Why EXACTLY did Legion have to "die" to upload the code? Couldn't he just transfer his mind or whatever to the geth cloud or something? What is it about this upload that was so dangerous?
As for Mordin, why did he wait around singing his stupid song after fixing the shroud? Why didn't he immediately bolt for the exit? Why was there no way to remotely access the terminal in such an advanced era of technology where wireless has been a thing for hundreds of years?
The Geth were all equivalent before the Reaper upgrades because their networking forces them to be. After the upgrade they all become individuals and will develop unique personalities like EDI. By the end Legion is the network not the hardware (and a network already stated in ME2 as being 11x as big as regular geth platforms). Even uploading his version of the full Reaper code to the Geth is not sufficient to break the effect of "we" - hence the need to fully break down his collective consciousness and imbed it in the upgraded consciousness being sent to the Collective. >As for Mordin, why did he wait around singing his stupid song after fixing the shroud? Why didn't he immediately bolt for the exit?
He was near the end of his natural lifespan and wanted to atone for his sins. Also it's a cutscene made with poignancy in mind. "Why didn't Mordin run back to the elevator" is what Cinema Sins would ask, might as well ask why Shepard didn't record his conversation with Vigil with the body cams Ashley very clearly proves exist in Alliance armors
you don't understand, legion apparently has SOUL and needs to DIE to give SOUL to every geth (yeah I don't get it either) >mordin dies
because you picked wrong choices, he lives in my playthroughs
>Why was there no way to remotely access the terminal in such an advanced era of technology where wireless has been a thing for hundreds of years?
Why don't you ask the same thing for quite literally every single console you interact with across the entire trilogy?
>Why was there no way to remotely access the terminal in such an advanced era of technology where wireless has been a thing for hundreds of years?
security through obscurity, don't want your nuke silo remotely hacked? don't put wi-fi in it
dunno, I always let him die in cage because I don't need nonwhite turboautismo killing machine to murder me in my sleep for MUH SWORD or whatever when there are plenty of other mentally stable (relatively) Fighters to pick from
cornrows too nappy
Is that the Raikage?
he didn't have horns like his brethren
>muh sword
Hornless incel with autism, unironically.
The Qunari suck overall to be honest, weakest part of Dragon Age's setting/writing.
The Artichoke is one of the best characters in the series, and one of the only acceptable parts of DA2
>DA QUN and DA HONOR
>DA QUN DEMANDS
>Are we walking up a mountain? HOLY SHIIIIIT I'M LOSING MY MIIIIND AHHHHH! ARISHOK SAVE ME!!!
>Did... did you just act nicely towards people? DA QUN DOES NOT APPROVE
You can just tell him to shut the frick up and fall back in line and those complaints go away. I think that's based.
>I do not understand why you help people, they are not you, therefore they should not matter.
Haha wow, yeah the Qun sounds very sustainable for a culture.
>I do not understand why you help people, they are not you, therefore they should not matter
Yes.
So much for the whole of body.
>wants you to act selfish
>wants you to actively abandon people in need of help
>Qun states that each individual is part of the whole body
tf was their problem?
You don't undertstand, the Qun is about the individual supporting the group, but only when it's beneficial to you as an individual.
I thought it was obvious he was backwards as frick and you can personally beat the crap out of him when searching for the ashes.
Sten if he nigg
>just frick my shit up senpai
Didnt he kill children and go "lmao who gives a shit" if I remember right? Frick him he stays in the cage every playthrough so I don't need to listen to his b***hing
Shouldn't have talked back. Stay soi

That'd be pretty cool if his sword was just the best thing he could equip for like the whole game.
I would have been happy if it was at least tier 6, but no it's fricking tier 3 and immediately useless.
Even weirder how his sword has a unique design and is one of the two in the main menu
>tfw no qunari gf
>tfw no elf slave gf as my personal breeder
>tfw no antivan crow bottom
He knew his entire culture was about to get retconned
>have a society where you are assigned your job at birth and you can never change it. If you try, you will be branded an outcast and a traitor to be shot on sight
>lol you can just change your gender though, its no big deal!

I did in fact forget everything about DA2

Nope, Iron Bull was a terrible quirky dreamworks character.
yeah but luckily by the time you meet him you've already given DA3 the amount of time needed to say you gave the game a fair chance before you uninstall it and never play it again
Hes mad his country got lore raped in the sequels
Why does this homie look like Bowser from the OG Mareeoh movie?
What went wrong that they fricked up all Dragon Age sequels but not Mass Effect?
Mass Effect 2 and 3 weren't disasters all things considered.

All them teeth and no toothbrush.
a fantasy/trilogy game is never complete without at least 50 retcons going into each game
