sad that zombie u is one of the only games to really take advantage of the second screen.
I still miss having a usable map for splatoon. It's also hilarious to me that the botw devs were still using the non gimped wii u version when making totk
Whenever they release a new-gen home console they'll make the switch pair with it and work as a gamepad; they'll add that stuff back in with a free update. It'll be a Wii U but succeed. Maybe it will have a 4k disc drive and capability to play all previous disc-based consoles on it, and pair wii motes etc. as well.
Wouldn't be as ergonomic but i would love that especially if that can also be used to boost performance of the switch 2
Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD do and they're so much better for it, the eventual Switch or Switch 2 re-release is going to be inevitably inferior due to this.
Alos Xenoblade X, managing Frontier Nav through menus would be a nightmare but the gamepad makes it smooth as butter.
>Alos Xenoblade X, managing Frontier Nav through menus would be a nightmare but the gamepad makes it smooth as butter.
The switch has a touch screen, it just barely ever gets used for anything besides the home menu. Most people don't even realize it since it doesn't have a stylus like the other nintendo consoles that had one
Nintendoland was kino, and it's the only exclusive worth emulating
Proto Switch
Yeah, it was their first attempt to merge their handheld and console markets.
An accessory for the Wii right?
I mean they keep only focusing on the tablet and it's name doesn't scream that it's a successor console like a simple number would.
MK8, MH3U and Splatoon were the peak of online gaming and it cost nothing to play them online. It's too bad that the Switch has dedicated servers so you have to pay to play online with Nintendo games now.
A loyalty test, and you failed.
Wii U = Games released on solidly built hardware with miiverse, no stick drift and free online play. It's a flop.
Switch = The same games but on shitty hardware with trash garbage controllers and israeliteed online. It sells trillions upon trillions of consoles.
The israelites were right yet again. People really are dumb goys that like to be treated inferiorly and fed slop.
Nintendo fans got considerably dumber when the first Wii came out, I noticed. I know it's not because of dumb kids, because most Nintendo fans these days are grown ass men.
>make a terrible console
>inadvertently make the best controller ever made
I like the GamePad's feel 1000x more.
Never held this before was it really the basedest controller ever made?
Absofrickinlutely. Best D-pad, best analog sticks, buttons feel great, no trigger buttons, it's simple, it's responsive, best controller for retro games when you don't want to buy several different controllers for each console.
I want to go back.
The battery life on these were insane, how did they do it?
they are insane on how long they battery life lasts. it's almost a half of year
>charge once again year
have you used the wii u pro remote? it's a god send
They put a literal DS battery in it.
No motion sensing or NFC.
>but Xbox
Superior nippon engineering folded a thousand times
The controller itself barely uses any power and it has I think a 3DS battery so without the screens and all the extra shit that the 3DS has that battery lasts a lot.
Leftover 3ds batteries same as the Switch Pro controller but the rumble + halves the battery
I have it. thank you problem is hey didn't box the pro remote
Piss poor marketing. Should have had its own identity independent of the previous console
>What's this? A tablet controller for my Wii?
it was supposed to be nintendo's 8th gen console but as far as anyone was concerned their real 8th gen console was the 3DS
nobody ever said to themselves "hmm, should i get a PS4 or a WiiU"
>we should have placed this in the wii-u box set
hein sight is a bit funny
>Wii sold over 100 gazillion units
>Wii "U" will sell over 200 gazillion units
they fricked up by not bundling the pro remote with it
DS and 3DS systems were printing money, obviously more screens = more money
The Wii was extra hardware wrapped around a GameCube.
They thought they could get away with doing it again by wrapping extra hardware around a Wii, but as Sega has shown in the 90s, double wrapping hardware is just expansion for expansions sake.
Essentially the Wii U is the last of the random hardware designs that consoles used to follow, console hardware is now system on chip designs by major vendors (AMD, NVIDIA) that can provide simply faster chips each year instead of reinventing from scratch
Wii U was a good console and I'm tired of pretending it's not
It has more exclusives than the Gaystation 5 and it's more innovative with the second screen that made the console unique, shame that Nintendo was too moronic with marketing and naming
The switch AC adapters can just suddenly mess up their voltage and brick any system the second it's plugged in.
The AC adapter will still charger other USBC devices normally even after this happened so there's no way to tell when it could happen until the damage is already done.
Yep, my launch Switch is fried.
Stop lying schizo
A console which had more games than the PS5 has right now.
More or less the last piece of dedicated gaming hardware that actually had a point to exist.
they missed a huge opportunity to make ds games playable on it
They did, you fool
wii u was amazing when you could buy nes and snes games for $3
I recommend pirating them
nobody gives a shit..play games
Splatoon-playing machine
Nintendo fricked up by not being a regular remote video game system
this system would have been 1000x times better if they incorporated a handheld remote
>dirty 1000 hours plus+
I fricking love this thing.
its actually a good idea, just badly executed
I still wait for the day when switch is strong enough to do TV and handheld screen at once
and the switch should have had a stylus so all their DS/3ds stuff can be released and work as intended
if they didn't skimp on power to use 40w, then 3rd parties wouldn't have bailed, the system wouldn't have had a skeleton library for 3 years and wouldn't have died
also the launch games were weak, if it had a stronger lineup, it would have been fine
what's cool about wii-u is they you already own the console games on wii-u, instead of renting them on switch
The last interesting and innovative thing that shitheap company ever made.
Their best console ever. The potential was unreal.
the real question is what is better?
>wii u pro
orr
>switch pro
>Wii, a big hit
>DS, a big hit
>lets combine the two systems. a console with a second touch screen and motion controls
>make sure to have all the buttons inputs and HD to entice third parties
>what could go wrong?
the wii I suffered from not having the people emote
>pro remote
I hate how tangled video game remotes are
You had to be there. WWHD launch day was so fun.
The WiiU had a better top tier game library than the Wii. It's not even close. Wii was all about quantity of shovelware
A decent console with a cool gimmick that was unfortunately underutilized. Great first party library as well, luckily most of it has been ported to a system people actually bought so they get to enjoy it.
