I played the "Highschool" route first with this game and it was painfully mediocre that I gave up on the actual route like 5 hours into it.
It's obvious it's supposed to be played after the rest of the game, I have no idea why they let you play it first it's all just references to the main story.

The composers for these games are just musicians with enough computer knowledge to make chiptunes work. They're being paid to make music, which is their passion, most of them don't give a frick what it's being used for or even give a shit about videogames in the first place.

Horsegays know how to make some damn good music. The way TFH uses it is outstanding.
TFH's dynamic music is brilliant but it only works because it has such a small roster. It would be an insane prospect to pull this off with even a standard 16-character roster from a major publisher fighting game. Tianhuo soundfont on Alpake Highlands during Final Round is the peak of the entire soundtrack.

The DBH score was done by composers and was pretty memorable. I think it has to do with the uniqueness of the tracks.
