I thought that was already a bit much. I could understand brad having hallucinations from abandoning his sister after finding out about the rapes, felt a bit much to include Brad although it does explain why he never went to the police
Back when the DLC wasn't out yet, I often heard people say that they felt like Brad didn't deserve all the shit he got by the end of The Painful, that he wasn't "that bad"
I wonder if the dev heard those comments, tried to think of a way to retroactively fix that, and so tacked on the rape at the end in order to make people go "Oh shit he did that? Frick him then he's scum"
Which is funny since like Brad is still just the victim in that situation if he was forced into it. But that's really the case with most of Brads life if you think about it, he never had a chance to be anything else.

I think you're half right, but about Marty instead. Hell, before the DLC people weren't even sure if The First was canon at all. In the context of just The Painful Marty is an abusive dad who hurts and neglects his kids, but there's no indication that he's a rapist so people might've felt that Brad's hatred of him was too extreme. Then Joyful reiterates that Marty was a piece of shit
That makes a lot of sense actually, good thinking. Blows my ideas on why he included Brad in out of the water though. Guess he might have just cranked the shock factor a bit too high in the heat of the moment.

NTA but it makes sense if you think about how Marty perceived Brad. He saw him as a pussy who wasn't as manly as him so in his own twisted logic, forcing Brad to frick his sister would be his own way of forcing him to man up. I choose to believe that this is also the reason why we never heard anything about Brad falling in love with anyone while growing up, because the trauma of raping his sister fricked him up too much to pursue love.

thought it was really dumb and unbelievable from a narrative perspective to bring the dad back in a twist. i don't remember what plot justification was given for him to be living in a cave or whatever but i was really confused through the end of the encounter because i was waiting for the revelation that it was a hallucination
>i don't remember what plot justification was given for him to be living in a cave
There was no justification given. The dev doesn't really give a shit about having things make sense, he cares more about the emotions he can evoke. Not that I'm saying that's good, it's just what he did with Lisa
thats cool, and i do respect that, as a bit of character work for brad its a moment that was absolutely impactful. but there is a balance that wasn't quite reached to make such a bombastic twist really hit without just feeling like a weird sloppy hanging thread.
Narratively it makes complete sense to highlight the idea of if redemption is even possible (Brad becoming more like his father to the point of also seeking redemption/feeling guilt) and to ring in the point of how far brad has fallen that his father is a better man to buddy.
The actual logistics of him on a random ass island, yeah thats not good. You kind of just have to accept that bullshit
maybe it was meant to be ambiguous in which case i'm a moron but i always read it as it literally being Marty in the cave, even though I was waiting for a reveal that it wasn't really him
oh boy i am so fricking excited to get to play a $10 more expensive worse version of a game I've already played, now with removed jokes to suit tiktok zoomer sensibilities

There's been zero indication that any dialogue or anything has been removed or changed. The Jim Sterling island might be changed since he transitioned and all that, but you can see Brad's name is "Sexy Boy" in one of the fights in the trailer so that segment will still be present in some form at least.
The one thing we know that's for sure is being changed is that the party members who are supposed to be Joy addicts but never had their Withdrawal trigger, like Birdie, now actually have it trigger.
I don't have a pic of it, but basically in the game's code there are 2 groups of Joy Addict party members. Whenever Withdrawal triggers on your party members it's supposed to randomly pick one of the two groups and apply the debuff to everyone in that group. However, because Austin is a shit programmer it always picks the same group. The other Joy addicts in Birdie's group are Rage, RT, Garth, Sonny and Fly
I wonder how this is going to effect people's team's.

I feel like the only big difference will be that people are gonna be more willing to replace Rage instead of keeping him, Nern and Terry/Olan as the starting crew. Birdie will be harder to keep alive and more difficult to use, but his utility is in his skills and not his damage output so people will still probably use him. Same with Fly. Sonny is cool but appears too late into the game to see a lot of use. And who the frick actually uses RT or Garth?

RT is actually pretty damn good for what he provides (Fire, Status effects), also rather bulky and hits decently hard, It's just that most people don't have a strong reason to put him in a group.
Garth is pretty underwhelming I will give you that
When I played the Desolate Expanse mod for the first time I thought the creator just made most of the characters joy addicts to make the game harder, I had no idea he was just fixing what was originally intended.

Yeah, Austin fricked up a lot of things. Did you know that Ajeet won't join your party if you're under the effects of Joy, or if you've specifically taken Joy twice? Austin probably meant to make it so if you take it twice or more then you can't get him, but instead it just happens in this very specific situation

Ajeet is against Joy, it fits his character.
Maybe you've meant something else? >or if you've specifically taken Joy twice
yeah, this one is funny

It's adds some interesting worldbuilding. Before I didn't think Joy was that big of a deal, but in reality random guys like Garth and Fly are addicted to it too.
I am intrigued though, the handling of the remake will be the ultimate chance for dingaling to redeem himself after he has consumed most goodwill by ranting about asinine shit on twitter for 8 years and producing 0 video games in the meantime
by the way have any mega-autists ever identified all the samples from Marty's TV audio? All I can pick out is Skeeter's *honk honk* and the sample (or early version) from Tallgrass Tussle
Hates his son
Loves his dicky
simple as
Who knows what his problem was, nothing could excuse the shit he did to both his kids
His wife died. That's literally the only reason he turned to heavy drinking, raping Lisa and abusing Brad.
She wasn't raped by him. In its place, he has Brad rape his sister.
he raped her dude, then forced brad to rape her as well.
I thought that was already a bit much. I could understand brad having hallucinations from abandoning his sister after finding out about the rapes, felt a bit much to include Brad although it does explain why he never went to the police
>I thought that was already a bit much
He meant it as a bonding experience
Only other game I can think of off the top of my head is Symphony of the Night

I need to play it again, but the original Lisa was so ass. I don't even think it will be in the definitive version.
It's really best just viewed via a youtube video.
Brad didn't exist in the original Lisa, so the only rapist is Marty. And yeah, they said that it won't be included with the Definitive Version
Huh, I thought that was Brad at the tea party.
Lisa needed correction
Mistreated his daughterwife instead of grooming her properly.
Yeah, he learned and that's why he was gonna do it right with Buddy before Brad ruined everything.
This is the best image of Buddy. Those schizo drugged eyes are great.
Have another one fren.
nothing he is just your average Ganker poster in his late 30s
That can't be right anon, Marty has actually had sex.
>rapes kids
>Ganker user
You mean a Redditor?
He hated trannies for being "pedo groomers" while being a massive anti-social and abusive pedo groomer.
Oh wait, that's just the average Gankerner.
>projecting
>Gankerner
>reddit spacing
Go back.
i need more games where dads are the final bosses/penultimate boss all along
Marty's going to be a secret boss if thats any consolation
Brad's dad coming back and trying to redeem himself was such a moronic idea
thought it was really dumb and unbelievable from a narrative perspective to bring the dad back in a twist. i don't remember what plot justification was given for him to be living in a cave or whatever but i was really confused through the end of the encounter because i was waiting for the revelation that it was a hallucination

I like the theory that Brad was hallucinating hard and he was just a random old man.
wait was that actually him living in that cave? I always thought it was just Brad projecting onto some random dude
maybe it was meant to be ambiguous in which case i'm a moron but i always read it as it literally being Marty in the cave, even though I was waiting for a reveal that it wasn't really him

Wasn't Dingaling working on a game called Uncle or something? Does he need shekels that baddly?
he went full moron on twitter during the trump shit iirc,. lol
Just don't buy it LMAO.
He won't, neither will I. People are still allowed to call out israelitealing on his heeb tendencies
wait i haven't followed the news closely, is there any actual hint or confirmation that the content is actually being changed?
not yet no, its people thinking there will be stuff changed.
there could be since it was made like 9 years ago and people have gotten more fragile over those years but i'll believe it when i see it.

LITERALLY have a nice day schizo
failed musician

He helped to make "2" games in the meantime
>Painful remaster came out before MU
Holy shit Ed you moronic lithuanian just finish it already
I hope we get to see more of Brad and Lisa's childhood, and a lot of the awful bugs or rushed jobs get fixed/finished.
An alcoholic dad
Everything else is pure headcanon
by the way have any mega-autists ever identified all the samples from Marty's TV audio? All I can pick out is Skeeter's *honk honk* and the sample (or early version) from Tallgrass Tussle
Arguably one of the most interesting parts of the game and nobody talks about it. WHAT THE FRICK DOES THIS MEAN???
