Did anyone else get really hyped to see his adult self only to get disappointed that the developers were lazy and didn't change his appearance at all? I was very relieved to see that it actually had a story reason and that the only reason nobody reacted to him looking like a 12-year-old was that they were being tactful. Still kinda lazy by the developers because him aging slowly has absolutely no bearing on the story but I'm a shotacon so I'm not complaining.
It's a little awkward how some people don't change at all in the time-skips, but some do. A lot of it seems to be mostly done to preserve the twist, but it's still kinda horseshit feeling.
>A lot of it seems to be mostly done to preserve the twist
Oh frick, I didn't even realize that might be part of Uchikoshi's motive behind that Shoma thing.
You just kinda have to roll with some stuff for the twist to make sense, and I don't mind some of it like Bibi having the same hairstyle and outfit as present-day Mizuki, and whatnot but it stretches a bit when you have a 12 year-old kid still look 12 when he's 18. I mean, Ota never looks his age either but still.
>but it stretches a bit when you have a 12 year-old kid still look 12 when he's 18
Well they explained it with the gene manipulation and whatnot.

I realise they explained it, but that's a backfilled explanation to preserve the twist. It serves no other purpose.

Oh, yeah, true, that's just clumsy storytelling. It should at least serve another purpose, like giving him a motive or something. They could have made him the killer as well, I wouldn't have minded that.

I suppose it does give an indicator OF the twist. If you're seeing Shoma looking 12 when you're supposedly 6 years on, what the frick is going on, etc.
it's believable that some people don't change that much depending on their age, they just came up with an exceptionally convoluted asspull for Shoma since he should be going through puberty
and now I'm wondering if Ota not cutting his hair is ironically supposed to be foreshadowing
can't imagine that whole "finding out the crazy world ending cult was right about the world being fake" is mixing too well with his mental illness in the divergence timeline
I'm not "macho", I just hate evil and dishonest people, and it will take more than wings and a pipe to kill me kek

Have you considered spamming threads about this troony game on Reddit or Twitter where they love that sort of thing, rather than Ganker where you know we genuinely hope you die?

God damnit it's too early to be laughing this hard.

I wanna see the crazy DBZ nonsense that'd result in the two Mizukis escalating from an argument into a full-tilt brawl.

Bibi: You’d like me to be you, wouldn’t me? But it’s too late; You Snoze, You Loze.
Mizuki: You sleeped. You weeped.
Bibi: You naple, you get slaple.
Mizuki: You slumber, a cucumber!
Bibi: You catch up on some zeds, you get out of my heads!
Mizuki: You slumber, ham-BURGER I DON’T WANNA TALK ABOUT NOTHIN’ ELSE!
Bibi: Listen. This Psyche is not big enough for two metaphysical Psyncers.
Mizuki: You couldn’t PSYNC your way out of a cardboard bag!
Bibi: YEAH. I KNOW. CUZ IT WOULD BE AN EGG!

Bibi: If you love your pipe so much, why don't you marry it?
Mizuki: 'cause I'm already married, to justice.
Bibi: Yeah, only a blind person would marry you.
I think it's sincere but overblown, is the vibe. Similar to Tama's small outburst about LGBTQ+. These aren't beliefs the writers don't hold, but they're playing them up for obnoxious comedic effect.
I lover how the shills dont even try to play this shit down anymore rember when they were trying to say "it was just one line" I wonder where those idoits are right now?
What the frick does she mean by humanity is rooted in weakness? As someone who thinks humans are cool as hell that’s the most triggering part of this entire spiel
Humanity's strength is cooperation. An individual human is not terrible as far as animals go, but our main physical thing is our stamina. Mentally we're far and above everything else on the planet, but we're outclassed physically, so on the thought process of 'who eats who', humans get eaten a lot more than they eat, except for the fact that they work together to overcome issues like that and use human ingenuity and inventiveness to create solutions.
How the frick is Mizuki about to proto-Psync with Tearer? Besides the fact they didn't fricking trash the prototype Psync machine when they wanted everyone to stay quiet about the bodyswapping, neither Mizuki nor Tearer remove their eyes for it, so this makes no fricking sense,
unless it's explained later
Examine the machine silly. If you answered the prologue quiz correctly it'll spell that out for you.
I'm amazed that's your question about that sequence though, I'm assuming you've either already finished or figured out what's going on?
No but Aiba is still in there when it shows the visor-equip cutscene, so Aiba hasn't even been removed. Tearer is just a whole plothole
ABIS upgraded the machine to use it as a backup. It hasn't been moved because Saito rigged it to self-destruct and they don't want to risk destroying the equipment trying to fix that issue.
That's not Mizuki, it's her sister who is the girl in the mask. That's why she's not surprised by Date. The whole sequence is taking place 6 years ago.
The machine was upgraded by ABIS to not require eyeball removal and is still there because Saito rigged it to self-destruct if moved.
>That's not Mizuki, it's her sister who is the girl in the mask. That's why she's not surprised by Date. The whole sequence is taking place 6 years ago.
There is nothing in his post that implies he doesn't know that.
1.Tearer is a fan of Zero Escape games and its a reference to both dahlia and the boat.
2. Its an anagram of Ialdabaoth
3. Its the same number of letters as Kaname Date to instill a sense of doubt in the Frayer.
It's not. It's one schizo spamming this moronic shit because he's really butthurt about ZTD. He really thinks Zero Escape was the only escape room game ever made.
>still claiming there's no ties between Zero Escape and AI despite the 3rd Cabin Somnium literally confirming that Aiba is Junpei
life is simply unfair
Glad I'm not the only one who tried Kaname Date the first time.
I honestly didn't remember a Dahlia connection in ZE until now but that's great. I think the whole Tearer thing is probably my favourite aspect of this sequel.
Wait, Tearer's outfit and voice is literally part of an in-universe larp?
Are the personal questions from the two Mame somnia related? If I change what I picked in the first one, does it affect the second? I'm assuming they're static and change nothing, except tell you the choice is wrong, because it would affect her story.
>did you play the first game >yeah? with the bodyswap twist? >well frick you he's wearing a silicone mask
the frick was the point of that sequence, anyway
because they didnt want to pay the equivalent of four actors to voice Date. They would have to pay the Japanese actor twice as much, as he voices both bodies, and would have to pay Greg Chun and D. C. Douglas for the english one
Not reading the thread or opening the op since I just started but I am amazed this guy sounds like JYB. The VA impersonate Bosch's generic late teen/early 20's voice perfectly.
I congratulate you for reaching this point.
As promised, I will reveal to you the truth of this experiment.
Aine Ichirai and Binato Sotobara.
Mariha Monzen and Lumina Rikujo.
Kairo Goshiki and Iris Sagan.
These six individuals had an extraordinary power.
The power to create a "tear" in this world and interface with existence beyond it.
However, in order to manifest this ability, they had to be driven into an extreme state of mind.
This was necessary to stimulate the prefrontal cortex of the brain to a heightened state.
This increased the probability of being able to recognize the existence of another world, and even information exchange became possible.
Why did we need your participation?
We needed your thoughts, your desire: "I want to save them."
All of them converged into a single wavelength and amplified.
This became the key to opening the Multidimensional Portal, which furthered their ability to interface.
It was vital to unify the vector of your wills, decoding the puzzles.
(1/2)
Now, one pivotal question remains, doesn't it?
“Why doesn't Iris Sagan have any memory of this disappearance?”
The answer can be explained by the fact that there are countless simulated worlds.
There are worlds in which she disappeared, and there are worlds in which she did not.
That simulated world you have acquainted yourself with, let us call that the "AI 2 world."
Your AI 2 world and the AI 2 world that another may have experienced are completely different.
Your AI 2 world was simply one in which Iris Sagan did not disappear.
But what of another's AI 2 world? Could they have experienced a world in which Iris Sagan did in fact disappear?
The story in that world will have developed differently from the one you experienced.
This is no coincidence.
We knew that your experience would lead you to this exact point.
All of this was part of our vision, our plan.
Making contact with your world was necessary in achieving our goal.
The fact that you are reading this now is proof that we reached the final stage.
You should know what this means.
Thank you for your cooperation.
You have reached a number of endings, and yet you are here because you are not yet satisfied.
It appears you hunger for a deeper truth.
It is your gift.
I knew I was right to believe in you.
Now it is your turn.
You may suffer the same fate as the six subjects of our experiment.
But there is no need to worry.
For you can change the workings of the world itself.
You are a Frayer.
You can tear at the seams of this world...

>Aiba/Date
classic tsundere combo can't go wrong with that >Tama/Ryuki
I like how openly affectionate they are toward each other, nice change of pace after Date/Aiba tsundere antics.
Wasn't really expecting Tama to be so soft and caring towards Ryuki.
If Date/Aiba are divorced couples Tama/Ryuki are married couples. >Aiba/Mizuki
Honestly kinda weak compare to the other pairing.
They are way too nice towards to leave any room for banters.
Mizuki needs a goofball to be aggressive towards, otherwise she's just kinda there and grumpy. Aiba is a bit silly but compared to Date it's not really anything.
Tama was fine and I think her English voice actor is very good, clearly puts a lot of effort into doing the lines well.
Ryuki, besides when he's schizing out, has an absolutely non-existent personality to the degree that even grumpy, self-absorbed Mizuki is a more engaging character to be around than he is.
I think if you frankenstein the story to somehow cut out Ryuki entirely and have the two protag duos be Date/Aiba and Mizuki/Tama you'd end up with two significantly more enjoyable duo's.
It was me, actually. I chose for him to remember that the world was fake and to recall the events of everything that occurs six years from that point. In my defense, I thought telling the schizo character all of that would be hilarious
>Frayer doesn't actually exist >Diverge is just Ryuki's schizoid hallucinations >the videos are MK Ultra hypnosis type shit that make schizos go crazy >the big twist is that (You) are actually schizophrenic
that's probably what Tama figures is what's going on in that ending, but she just can't bring herself to get him committed and he did somehow turn out to be right in the HB case so she's just desperately trying to keep him from going even crazier without anyone else knowing
>says that the corpse is definitely jin furue >says that he looked exactly like the press photo why did she lie? did she just want more screen time? is she a frayer?
I just finished this fricking game so spoilers galore to anons that care. Thanks to the anons that posted the torrent so I didn't waste sixty dollars on this shit.
Pros: >Tama and Aiba are cute >Some somniums are better than the 1st game >Liked Ryuki's schizo scenes and was excited for it's potential in somniums or routes >The music was nice
...That's it
Cons: >Humor is WAY shittier and cringier than the first game >Date is wearing Saito's fricking face for the most moronic reason possible >Most characters from the first game got a raw deal and are pretty much just there for the most part (even fricking SO who is the biological father of the fricking villain, what?) >English VA was so bad that I switched to Japanese (hey you localizer homosexuals, I know you read Ganker so stop hiring e-celebs for voice acting you moronic c**ts) >Ryuki's schizo shit felt like it's been ignored halfway >Should've focused on one character you play the whole way through (Playing TWO Mizukis suck and there's a whole lot of shit they didn't bother with Ryuki) >Finale was fricking emotionally weak and QTE heavy. >Mizuki going on a literal twitter thread rant for troony/minority pandering by the end of the game, ensuring none of these threads will ever be normal AND annoy the hell out of me >Tokiko knowing all this frayer shit, who the frick was the voice? >"DUDE THERE'S HALLUCINATIONS DUDE IT'S CLONING AND DNA MODIFICATION DUDE THE FLOWCHART IS FRICKED TO MESS WITH YOU DUDE IT'S ACTUALLY A SIMULATION THE WHOLE TIME BECAUSE (You) WERE THERE!" >Uchikoshi: You rike?
People ironically meme Uchikoshi as a hack in a good way, but he is genuinely terrible. I kept giving him the benefit of the doubt after ZTD but now I just can't, especially after the whole simulation thing turned out to be a "frick you" 5 minute "route" and the finale felt much weaker and weirder than the first game lol.
>mfw there are anons ITT that paid SIXTY FRICKING DOLLARS for this
Please save your money for better things next time.
>especially after the whole simulation thing turned out to be a "frick you" 5 minute "route"
I can't believe that Uchikoshi teased this shit only for it to be such a small event. This should've mindfricked Ryuki even further or he should've talked to Date because he himself also dealt with moving to different timelines. This game was all over the place in terms of story and characters.
>AI 1 was an okay 6/10 or 7/10 game that had potential to be really good >AI 2 was a 4/10 >AI 3 will be so fricking bad because Uchikoshi can't write for shit anymore.
AI1 had LGBT+, AI2 will have LGBTQ+, AI3 will have LGBTQIA2S+ This is gonna be the new ranking from now on from good to fricking awful.
>English VA was so bad that I switched to Japanese (hey you localizer homosexuals, I know you read Ganker so stop hiring e-celebs for voice acting you moronic c**ts)
Stopped there. The game has flaws but you are genuinely moronic.
But anon, they hired a voice actor to do voice acting. Except THIS voice actor is ALSO a Youtuber, so it's BAD.
This "voice actor" is pretty much talking normally like in his shitty ass videos, and he fricking suck. Arin Hanson also is "voice actor" but he is fricking trash as well, so yeah, I would rather they wouldn't hire e-celebs.
A lot of voice actors just use their natural voice because that's what they're told to do. Sung-won also does grandiose voices in some roles (Misedor in Disgaea 6, for example), so he's clearly not just only capable of doing his own voice. It's also a pretty affected version of his speaking voice for Gen. A lot clearer, more robust, etc.
It's still distinct enough to me that I said "is that fricking ProZD" numerous times and I had to switch to Japanese. The English VA in general suck, especially when they're trying to sing.
>stop hiring e-celebs for voice acting you moronic c**ts
If it weren't an e-celeb, it just be one of the same 10 voice actors who dub everything, and they are all shitty people so pick your poison.
I'm replaying 999 for the first time on steam and is it just me or does Junpei sound gay? Part of me wants to keep the voices because I never played the game with voices before, but on the other hand Junpei sounds really gay.
I'm just at the point where Junpei is reading the note during Zero's announcement right at the start of the game. I've barely heard everyone talk but the voice acting doesn't sound trash to me. Trash would be like early PS2 era dubbing. Its not great, but its not terrible. But it is weird casting a man with a gay lisp as Junpei and its offputting.
These games feel incestuous with the way that so many characters are related, in love with each other, clones etc. Was it really necessary for Genny to be in love with Amame? Wasn't their father-daughter dynamic reason enough for him to risk his life for her?
I like that Genny developed actual feelings for her instead of it being a cliche'd father daughter thing. He's not her father, he's a man with needs and desires. He wants to separate himself and just be a friend but he can't and that's part of what tortures him. Its more interesting than it staying purely platonic and goes along with his whole Frankenstein's monster thing.
I really thought his wink psync while he was dying would be him coming to terms with the fact that he misinterpreted the love he felt for Amame as romantic and being happy that he died protecting someone he viewed as his family. Instead he really was in love with her and their whole relationship just felt weird.
Genny's a fricking emotional cripple with no positive life experience. Of course he falls for the first woman who sorta likes him. He's quite literally an incel simp.
How is he wrong? His face makes him involuntarily celebate and he simps for Amame hard. He also said literally, not figuratively like the common meme.
Anyway, I'm not going to replay 999 afterall. I'll just skip to VLR. Usually knowing a story's twists ahead of time doesn't prevent me from enjoying a re-read but 999 is a special case. The whole story purely about those few mind blowing moments and I can't get into it again knowing the twists. Gay Junpei wasn't helping either.
Both of them are reciprocal to each other's feelings and both are willing to protect each other numerous times throughout different routes, saying that he's somehow both an incel AND a simp makes me feel that some of you got your brains rotted by twitter or social media in general.
What exactly did Amame do to protect Genny? At any point in the story? She even gets him killed in their own fricking ending.

>She even gets him killed in their own fricking ending.
That was her being moronic and wanted to do something to help Genny but she ultimately fricked up like she always does. IF ONLY SHE CHOSE THE RIGHT DECISION HUH????
No, Ryuki was getting confused too. He's experiencing events the way the player sees them, that's why Tama keeps questioning him (a lot of decisions don't make sense if you look at it in the true timeline) and also explains the whole thing with Shoma disappearing on the ferris wheel.
>people really think Mame likes Genny
She's a good manipulator and opportunist. Her somnia prove she always makes decisions to benefit herself. Why the frick would you ask your friend to indefinitely hide a body in his freezer instead of burying it in the middle of bumfrick nowhere? So he can take the fall if shit goes down.
Hey, I played the game in Japanese and just wanted to know, what does the entry for the word "double" that Lien uses say in English?
In Japanese it mentions how it's one of those woke words that people use to replace hafu/half supposedly because half has bad connotations (completely ignoring how it's used in English) but the last line in the entry has "Really though? I've never heard anyone in real life ever say double" which I thought was very weird for someone who's supposedly "woke" to have in the game.
Same reason why "trap" became offensive and femboy replaced the word, there are attention prostitutes that kept making a big deal or exaggerating the issue.
Thing is, "half" is a real word people actually use in English.
The morons throwing a fit over this are now trying to get around that by claiming that they don't have a problem with the word half but the word... "hafu". Which is just how you say half in Japanese.
I guess these braindead idiots refer to McDonalds and KFC as "Makudonarudo" and "Kentakki".
Seriously though, google "hafu" if you want to see a truckload of stupid.
In any case it's nice to see that even someone who goes all in on
if you really did play in japanese it's not hard to look into it
https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%8F%E3%83%BC%E3%83%95_(%E6%B7%B7%E8%A1%80)#%E7%8F%BE%E4%BB%A3%E3%81%AE%E6%99%82%E4%BB%A3
frick this puzzle
there's 6 letters, one of which is repeated so 5 letters, conveniently spotted on another object in the same location, it's easy even if you can't understand the gimmick
the problem is when they do it again for horadori institute, I suspect it heavily relies on how the japanese language works so the english version came across as being much more confusing
>links to unrelated wikipedia sections going on into the history of mixed blood people not about the word
moron
And the part at the top that is relevant is a load of bullshit linking to sources that are just privileged half-whites whining about how they don't have enough privilege.
I wish there were more of these bullshit puzzles in the game. I also wish the escape death game shit uchikoshi teased with the ARG was part of the game.
Middle is okay, but I wish the game let you look at the clues again before demanding the solution and calling you a brainlet for failing to remember what the clues looked like.
>Somnium 1 was fairly grounded in realism until super human strength Mizuki >Somnium 2 introduced DNA frickery and clones, simulation schizos, overplayed the porno mag powers way too much in serious routs, and the final villain was killed off-screen
Uchikoshi has lost it. I hate him and anyone that defends him.
>actually call the masked girl being a Mizuki clone fairly early on >it's revealed that she's both Kizuna's Big Sis and Lien's partner
This game has a lot of "ZTD twists" and I dunno how to feel about it
I felt pissed off for the most part. I honestly feel this game is on the same level as ZTD. So many characters got screwed over and the stories are just dumb. Why do both Mizukis look EXACTLY the same in clothing and hairstyle when they were 18? Why the frick didn't LIEN OR KIZUNA mentioned how the clone Mizuki looked like the one they knew? I'm too tired to play it from the "true flowchart" ordering, but I'm annoyed at this shit.
Holup did I speedplay the game or is this a plothole >you find Komeji's right half >Kizuna is in your group and she can still walk >ackshyually this happened 6 years into the future
I liked it better than AI1 and ZTD. The twist was great but some points I acknowledge are a tad worse than the first like the ending. However I called AI1's bodyswapping ridiculously early on which is why it was just blah to me. I couldn't call AI2's twist at all.
The speech in the webm is super cringe and probably the worst one in the entire game. But it's such a tiny potion that doesnt effect anything game. If that does it for you then i cant help you.
In the first game it was optional dialogue and now he is forcing us to listen to woke bullshit from what i can tell at lest twice now it just going to get worse if you support it
I played the first one when it came out and was kinda ambivalent about it. Seeing that this one is even cringier than the first makes me not want to play it.
Mayumi and Takero were actually early genetic experiment prototypes, leading to Mayumi's dementia and Takero's heart attack. Their genetic weirdness passed on to Ota, which is why he looks so fricking dumb.
It's his real head, he's just like that. It's like Ota's dad, it's just fricking cartoon style for some reason. Which makes Gen's fricked up skeleton being a plot point weirder.
this is legit one of the biggest annoyances i have with the game >Gen's entire backstory and personality is defined by his misshapen head >xray komeiji and it clearly shows he actually has a cube skull >his head is never mentioned by anyone, ever
in the fricking bin
Like, at least Ota and his family were still clearly human shaped, just weird, except his dad, but his dad was dead to begin with. Komeji straight-up doesn't look like a person, yet Gen's the one with the backstory about it, and Komeji's family looks totally normal.
You get to X-Ray him and yes, he has a square skull
I always thought it fricked up that people are so disgusted and freaked out over Gen's face but Komeji can have a whole-ass career with his square monstrocity
If you liked the first game you'll like this one. Depending on what you liked it might be slightly better or slightly worse than the 1st one but still about the same quality.
>literally nobody hornyposting about the fact that we now have two Mizukies
shame
by accident so I hope that isn't a big spoiler, although I kinda guessed something like that with the "half body part missing then found" thing in the description of the game
i thought the first game was a 6-7/10 but I've dropped this game around what i assume is roughly the halfway point because the character interactions, humour, investigations and body discovered scenes are all much worse imo.
The only pros I can give is that Tama and Adult Iris are both sex and the Somnium Logic/'Puzzles' are much more interpretable.
If you like the first game you will enjoy this one too. It does have good jokes but not nearly as many as the first one. The action sccenes are there and even more cringy. However, it has better characters, more OST, better gameplay.
I should've worded it better. No one, besides Kizuna, mentions to Mizuki Date that 6 years ago there was a literal replica of her running around trying to solve the HB case as well. They get freaked out by Jin's other half popping up 6 years later but not there being 2 identical Mizuki's.
tbh the whole reveal was pretty weak as the masked woman literally acts like Mizuki so it was pretty obvious. They also implied there are clones pretty early on and multiple timelines, so I guessed it was Mizuki from another timeline or her clone early on in the story.
Frick that
What if you put in the nil number before you're supposed to? Assuming everyone tried a random guess their first time around it had to happen to someone.
yes which is why they have to go through all the "oh no ABIS servers are down but we're still gonna let our people operate without an alternative so Aiba lost her memory from that moment 6 years ago" bullshit
Why aren't Ota and Iris a thing? They're both in a weird state of teenage arrested development and they're constantly together. Does Ota really have absolutely no game?
Still find it funny how it remains completely unexplained how Date (and Iris I guess) remembered shit from other timelines in the first game, yet they went out of their way to explain Mizuki's freakish strength.
Just beat the game, had an IRL freakout complete with writing shit out on paper when The flowchart twist was revealed. I was so confident that it was just leading to cloneslol and Tearer was just killing the people he hated over and over again by cloning them that I didn't even consider all the inconsistencies. I thought a bit about it being "past" Ota in Gen's somnium, but I just assumed this was a mistake left in from it being done early in development, rather than an intentional detail.
I looked so hard for inconsistencies with the true timeline but everything made sense.
Also, I want to frick Tokiko so bad. Makes me glad I refrained from going into these threads and just bookmarked them all to read later, would've sucked to have been spoiled on it.
not really, sc-fi authors tend to go for the depressing and serious tone. The only comedy I can think of right now is hitchikers guide to galaxy, and that's barely a sci-fi and the plot is really simple.
Thanks, I drew it yesterday and had to go back to the game to find a picture of Jin and which half was actually his. I had to quadruple check whether I actually got it right.
Also, how come there's no spoilery pictures of this game online yet? I couldn't even find a picture of the Tearer so I just had to draw him from memory. I'm not even sure he looked like that. He for sure wasn't a buff manlet.
If an AI 3 ever gets made they're probably going to ignore the diverge thing, probably gonna be more of a meta-twist where the player is in on it but not the characters
the fact that they made a point to mention how unsatisfying it is, and have the main characters unhappy even if they don't know why makes me think you're right
>Ryuki was just unsatisfied instead of having a full mental breakdown at all of it come on, after all his schizo moments teased in the game you can't expect me to believe that when that guy gets hit with the motherload of all revelations he's going to just be like "oh I was expecting a final boss fight..."
probably a little of both. And whenever the frick he got infected by TC-PERGE, though I'm still unclear on the timeline so those may have existed prior to infection, regardless the Diverge timeline would've fricked with him hardcore as it's beating into his skull that everything he went through could have been and potentially can be avoided through (You) knowing a code at the right time
>Shoma is tight-lipped and never talks to you about anything helpful until you mend the bond between him and his father. >On the other route he just starts telling you about Horadori in the most relaxed way possible despite shovelforge steve clipping into the terrain.
They will never stop adding layers to the AI name. We already had a quadruple layer in the first game with "ai = love", "artificial intelligence", "a eye", and "ai sounds like eye".
>took me a while to notice the AI capitalized in nirvanA Initiative
you should've already noticed when they announced the game
t. someone who feels dumb for not realizing why half of the eye is blue in the logo
actually how come more of the cast aren't infected by the mind hack nanomachines
it's only like Ryuki and Shoma and the other yakuza guy from the first game
>virus spreads through the air >MK-ULTRA videos making Ryuki go crazy >lol no effect whatsoever on Mizuki, either one of them, or the rest of the cast
yeah ok, sure
I was confused why the main cast wasn't PERGED during the final fight at the stadium, where all the naix grunts were infected with the schizo nanomachines and only ryuki would have resistance to it at that point
I wonder why Ryuki’s obsession with Date only starts getting mentioned towards the end of his route. There was >physical relationship >ryuki mishearing day as date and tama calling him a gay for it >asking mizuki what date thinks of him >saying he loves him >his entire somnium
But before that there’s no real indication that he gives a shit outside of being his kouhai. It’s sort of tacked on.
>the nil number is actually randomized for each playthrough
I wonder if you have enough time on your hands if it would be possible for you to actually get lucky and guess it, or use a hex editor or something to find it
Does anything special happen as well if you put in Tearer's name in the first somnium on a fresh file before you go down the left path?
Be honest, are you people gonna play Hackoshi's next game? I am done with this homosexual, but checking this thread and the archive I'm surprised people liked it.
I'll still play his games anon. I don't know why, but I just enjoy his wild rides. And I'm positive that the next game will be even more bat shit than this.
I just hope he works on something new next time around. 999 and AI1 were great games that I doubt he initially planned to follow up on so we got polarizing sequels act as vehicles for his hack twists
They're some of the most unique games around so yeah I don't see why not.
I'd rather the next game be a new IP though. I'd also enjoy him doing another infinity style pure VN rather than a game.
It is a little odd how Aiba stuck with Date through thick and thin in the first game, but he watches a few too many VR porn videos and she's OUT in this one. The entire emotional climax of the epilogue of the first game was Aiba returning and Date being incredibly emotional over it, so it's a little weird how they almost backslid Date's character. I get it's mostly done to avoid spoiling the first game as they're largely disconnected games, apart from the casts, but it's still... Yeah.
>Barely interacted with each other throughout the game >Mostly indifferent when meeting up again with him after being missing for 6 years
Probably the thing I disliked most about this game, even more than the asspull twists. Especially after the emotional ending in the first game just for it to seem like they barely care about each other in the sequel
The two Mizuki's being almost exactly the same and no one who knew both pointing this out was bullshit. The chances of their mannerisms and physical appearance (excluding the scar) being exactly the same makes no sense. One of them being tortured brutally during their childhood would have some impact on their character but she acts exactly the same as Mizuki Date at 18, who lived a relatively more normal life. There's a lot of other small details between the two that are too similar that it comes off as an asspull since the twist doesn't work unless they're written to be exactly the same, which just cheapens each of their characters as a result
By physical appearance I mostly meant clothes and hairstyle. Her face and body being the same makes sense

By that logic you should also be questioning why everyone except Iris and Ota also looks the same in the 6 year timeskip, Shoma has an excuse of muh genes but nobody else does.

I don't mind the twist, but it feels like they shouldn't have had it be six years apart, to make the character models being the same feel like less of a big deal. Unfortunately, if it wasn't, we couldn't have gotten the cool grown-up Mizuki and all that shit, and also there's the constant usage of six as a recurring number.

the issue with that whole twist is it brings up the question of where the frick was this mizuki during the events of the first game, although I assume it was because she was in training/didn't have an AI-Ball yet

She did not have the AI-ball yet, Date still had Aiba and he didn't wear an eyepatch like when she first met him.

Why the frick would Pewter design an AI that is extremely shy and barely speaks, anyways? What benefit does that have?

Didn't Pewter also not design Tama? Honestly he's probably just hooking the new AI Balls to the openAI APIs so he can laze around reading gay porn instead of doing his job.

Just imagine how Ai3 will treat Ryuki and Tama's relationship. She'll probably ditch his ass for being crazy and he'll be in an asylum pretending to be a superhero as to not spoil 2.
Why does everyone say there will be an AI3? First game flopped and the only reason the sequel is exist is because they were mid devlopment when AI1 releases and they could reuse assets.
>More Carlos >More Phido >More Akane being a schizo b***h killing off everyone in a timeline (including her own family/loved ones) when it doesn't go just the way she likes >even more complex motives
We NEED it, god only knows how many more snails we could run into out there
Tama is bisexual, when you meet Iris in the high school early on she makes a joke about fricking the teacher for good grades and that she'd be into it if the teacher was a chick too.
LGBT was meh, I mostly thought it was Okama shit because Tama is one. Mizuki going on a literal rant in the 2nd game where she wants to protect minorites and LGBTQ+ trannies reeks of twitter shit.
I'm surprised Uchi didn't write anything close to the annihilation end of the first game, Gen is the only character who dies in a side route only. I'm surprised he didn't write a route that kills off most of the main cast, but then again that would only be possible on the left side of the flowchart since tearer is already dead in the present
Date didn't shoot at an innocent civilian in broad daylight for setting up a balloon. Ryuki is downright unhinged, it's surprising he's still a police officer 6 years after drowing himself in alcohol. He should have in fact been a disgraced officer wearing an eyepatch because he lost Tama but that would ruin the TWEEST.
Well, for one, Boss clearly is holding onto some feelings for Date from when they worked together, she gives him so many opportunities it's clear she cares for him. Ryuki on the other hand is just any other ABIS member to her. Also, as people have said, Date never fricked up THAT bad.
1. It's funny to pick on crazy people
2. this is the same chick who decided sending a SAT squad after one of her own officers was a good idea and we never got a reason as to why, something's up
The SAT/Gen Dies ending made no sense, Date makes a plot point that there might be a NAIX member in ABIS but that is never followed up on in the true ending
So you're telling me Saito was able to set up a bomb at Boss' place in Ai1 despite Boss having a daughter like that?
Bros, it doesn't make sense, the overarching details are falling apart at the seams.
Making Bibi not Boss's daughter would solve few plotholes alone.
What's funny is that he got help from another for this game, didnt he? Did they rush the script or just didnt give a frick? Or did they have problems mid production and hat to cut few things?
Honestly my assumption is Boss just has a massive soft spot for anybody she truly cares about, but that list is like two people (Date and Bibi) so she turns a blind eye and does her absolute best to support them regardless of what they do.
didnt finish the first one i think i got some routes done can i play this without getting the first one true ending? im more interested in the ryuki side
I honestly felt like there should've been a weird, unexplained moment of Date and Tama Psyncing, which turns out to be between the time-jump. Just because I wanna see that dynamic of them trying to out-perv each other.
I honestly felt like there should've been a weird, unexplained moment of Date and Tama Psyncing, which turns out to be between the time-jump. Just because I wanna see that dynamic of them trying to out-perv each other.
I dunno, I'm not sure if Date could handle a chick being as much a perv as he is. either operating on x3.6 speed at all times would almost kill him or he wouldn't be into it at all
I honestly think of Tama and Ryuki's relationship as more just supportive friendship. Tama ties Ryuki up because he genuinely seems to calm down from it.
3D gay here. I really liked Tama and Ryuki. I'm considering making models, rig them, all that stuff so i can use them for coom animations. But i fear that spike chunsoft would just shut me down so im debating if its worth the effort.
>Tama constantly flirting with Ryuki and protecting him, vice versa with Ryuki even if it jeopardize their careers in ABIS >Mizuki calling them a married couple and Tama acting like a tsundere >"they're just supportive bro!"
Westerners have become really bad at fictional media relationships.
Did someone play the Japanese version? I bet this is localization homosexualry, because most of the time it felt like he respected Date as his superior or senpai, the "i love you" shit came out of nowhere.
I'm so conflicted. I love the music, characters, character designs, and the dialogue but there are so many plotholes that's inexcuseable. Also the action scenes are super cringe
Are Mizuki or Bibi gay though? Their part on the finale song is all about how they can't get boyfriends because they intimidate all the boys fricking cowards missing on the best, rarest snu-snu experience: getting their pelvis pulverized by a petite girl.
mizuki is straight as an arrow but bibi REALLY likes her sister
Well, if they fricked at least it would technically be masturbation.
I'm unsure why we don't have MORE hornyposting about the game, considering it's already a pretty horny game in and of itself. Do people dislike it that much?
You can only do so much with horny shit, first game had Date who was the king of pervs and wanted to escalate, the game being a disappointing sequel didn't really help
>even on pixiv there is essentially no artwork of this game minus the commissioned stuff

Sure, but I'd generally expect anybody below 20-ish to change at least somewhat in 6 years.
Tell me about your shota. I'm interested.
Smart, shy, loves robots, ages very slowly so will probably retain his 12 year old looks for decades.

Having played the first I'm still not sure if the writer expects me to go "yasss queen" or is writing her to be obnoxious on purpose
I think it's sincere but overblown, is the vibe. Similar to Tama's small outburst about LGBTQ+. These aren't beliefs the writers don't hold, but they're playing them up for obnoxious comedic effect.
A bit of both
I'd assume her adoptive father being a gay would have something to do with it.

Where is my hug?
What the frick does she mean by humanity is rooted in weakness? As someone who thinks humans are cool as hell that’s the most triggering part of this entire spiel
Humanity's strength is cooperation. An individual human is not terrible as far as animals go, but our main physical thing is our stamina. Mentally we're far and above everything else on the planet, but we're outclassed physically, so on the thought process of 'who eats who', humans get eaten a lot more than they eat, except for the fact that they work together to overcome issues like that and use human ingenuity and inventiveness to create solutions.
We win again, baby!

Mizuki's already got her eye plucked out, Tearer is a plothole, yeah. unless I also missed something
No but Aiba is still in there when it shows the visor-equip cutscene, so Aiba hasn't even been removed. Tearer is just a whole plothole
Examine the machine silly. If you answered the prologue quiz correctly it'll spell that out for you.
I'm amazed that's your question about that sequence though, I'm assuming you've either already finished or figured out what's going on?
ABIS upgraded the machine to use it as a backup. It hasn't been moved because Saito rigged it to self-destruct and they don't want to risk destroying the equipment trying to fix that issue.
it was modified to remove the eye and sedation features, they cant move the actual thing from the spot tho because its rigged to explode
There is nothing in his post that implies he doesn't know that.
>solve schizo arg video
>reward is concentrated schizo juice to make you even more schizo
Sooo what the frick does "Dahlia Boat" mean?
1.Tearer is a fan of Zero Escape games and its a reference to both dahlia and the boat.
2. Its an anagram of Ialdabaoth
3. Its the same number of letters as Kaname Date to instill a sense of doubt in the Frayer.
Wait, Tearer's outfit and voice is literally part of an in-universe larp?
Yes.
it makes sense, his motives are complex...
he got to cosplay, he's a real momma's boy, and he got to kill his shit ass dad and brother so it worked out pretty well all in all
One of his somnium's keys was that he was stuck playing escape room games hence his escape room somnium
Anon finish the game or you'll get spoiled
Are the personal questions from the two Mame somnia related? If I change what I picked in the first one, does it affect the second? I'm assuming they're static and change nothing, except tell you the choice is wrong, because it would affect her story.

Not reading the thread or opening the op since I just started but I am amazed this guy sounds like JYB. The VA impersonate Bosch's generic late teen/early 20's voice perfectly.
Reminder

>Aiba/Date
classic tsundere combo can't go wrong with that
>Tama/Ryuki
I like how openly affectionate they are toward each other, nice change of pace after Date/Aiba tsundere antics.
Wasn't really expecting Tama to be so soft and caring towards Ryuki.
If Date/Aiba are divorced couples Tama/Ryuki are married couples.
>Aiba/Mizuki
Honestly kinda weak compare to the other pairing.
They are way too nice towards to leave any room for banters.
Mizuki in general was really boring.
>Frayer doesn't actually exist
>Diverge is just Ryuki's schizoid hallucinations
>the videos are MK Ultra hypnosis type shit that make schizos go crazy
>the big twist is that (You) are actually schizophrenic
that's probably what Tama figures is what's going on in that ending, but she just can't bring herself to get him committed and he did somehow turn out to be right in the HB case so she's just desperately trying to keep him from going even crazier without anyone else knowing
>tfw you get filtered by a math puzzle
Shoma is made for Boss.
>Shoma and Amame went six years, possibly even longer, without telling Mizuki they were related
for what purpose
how has it never come up
mizuki never asked lol
same deal with Amane's dad, too. And after all that bullshit we never got to see their mom?
>says that the corpse is definitely jin furue
>says that he looked exactly like the press photo
why did she lie? did she just want more screen time? is she a frayer?
she's with Naix and was in on Tokiko's ruse
She doesnt want to leave the simulation, just make sure the Frayer sees her lines
Oh no, they killed Genny! Those bastards!
I just finished this fricking game so spoilers galore to anons that care. Thanks to the anons that posted the torrent so I didn't waste sixty dollars on this shit.
Pros:
>Tama and Aiba are cute
>Some somniums are better than the 1st game
>Liked Ryuki's schizo scenes and was excited for it's potential in somniums or routes
>The music was nice
...That's it
Cons:
>Humor is WAY shittier and cringier than the first game
>Date is wearing Saito's fricking face for the most moronic reason possible
>Most characters from the first game got a raw deal and are pretty much just there for the most part (even fricking SO who is the biological father of the fricking villain, what?)
>English VA was so bad that I switched to Japanese (hey you localizer homosexuals, I know you read Ganker so stop hiring e-celebs for voice acting you moronic c**ts)
>Ryuki's schizo shit felt like it's been ignored halfway
>Should've focused on one character you play the whole way through (Playing TWO Mizukis suck and there's a whole lot of shit they didn't bother with Ryuki)
>Finale was fricking emotionally weak and QTE heavy.
>Mizuki going on a literal twitter thread rant for troony/minority pandering by the end of the game, ensuring none of these threads will ever be normal AND annoy the hell out of me
>Tokiko knowing all this frayer shit, who the frick was the voice?
>"DUDE THERE'S HALLUCINATIONS DUDE IT'S CLONING AND DNA MODIFICATION DUDE THE FLOWCHART IS FRICKED TO MESS WITH YOU DUDE IT'S ACTUALLY A SIMULATION THE WHOLE TIME BECAUSE (You) WERE THERE!"
>Uchikoshi: You rike?
Could be a sequel hook if he wants to go further into timeline frickery
>AI 1 was an okay 6/10 or 7/10 game that had potential to be really good
>AI 2 was a 4/10
>AI 3 will be so fricking bad because Uchikoshi can't write for shit anymore.
Which voice actor is the youtuber? Pls spoonfeed.
Gen's English VA is Sung-won Cho, AKA ProZD. Also, though he didn't really start as that, Sean Chiplock, Pewter's VA, does some streaming and stuff.
This is, like, Ryuki's VA's first big role.
Kizuna's somnium is surprisingly tough, man.
The puzzles are straightforward but everything just takes so much time.
I'm replaying 999 for the first time on steam and is it just me or does Junpei sound gay? Part of me wants to keep the voices because I never played the game with voices before, but on the other hand Junpei sounds really gay.
If you are listening to English VA, of course he's gay, it's fricking trash voice acting by literal whos.
It was weird, but good weird. I'd rather have some kind of uncomfortable sexual desire than it being a dull platonic relationship with no edge to it.
Genny's a fricking emotional cripple with no positive life experience. Of course he falls for the first woman who sorta likes him. He's quite literally an incel simp.
>He's quite literally an incel simp.
Please don't type words if you don't understand them.
I accept your concession.
IF ONLY SHE CHOSE THE RIGHT DECISION HUH????
she always chooses the right decision
There's at least 3 other characters who could be described similarly. I dunno I just found the whole thing to be unnecessary.
timeline frickery never actually affected mizuki or boywonder. They experienced the events normally. Only Flayer was getting confused for some reason.
Uchikoshi, you motherfricker.
No, Ryuki was getting confused too. He's experiencing events the way the player sees them, that's why Tama keeps questioning him (a lot of decisions don't make sense if you look at it in the true timeline) and also explains the whole thing with Shoma disappearing on the ferris wheel.
well, that was more due to his brain issue.
All part of Naix's plan. make you think there's some weird shit going on, then go lolnope, then dance number, then nil number, then she wins
>when ryuki's not on screen he's going around tokyo having schizo meltdowns
i wish the frayer got to experience these firsthand
Mizuki should have gotten the eternal e-girl genes instead of Shoma
given what her sister looks like at 24, she pretty much does
>people really think Mame likes Genny
She's a good manipulator and opportunist. Her somnia prove she always makes decisions to benefit herself. Why the frick would you ask your friend to indefinitely hide a body in his freezer instead of burying it in the middle of bumfrick nowhere? So he can take the fall if shit goes down.
I don't get it.
frick this puzzle
I thought you are supposed to swap the letters or combine them into 1 row or some shit. lol.
That's kind of mistranslated but yeah, this does question some of the woke PC bullshit that some morons are pulling.
How the frick is "half-Japanese" offensive?
Same reason why "trap" became offensive and femboy replaced the word, there are attention prostitutes that kept making a big deal or exaggerating the issue.
Thing is, "half" is a real word people actually use in English.
The morons throwing a fit over this are now trying to get around that by claiming that they don't have a problem with the word half but the word... "hafu". Which is just how you say half in Japanese.
I guess these braindead idiots refer to McDonalds and KFC as "Makudonarudo" and "Kentakki".
Seriously though, google "hafu" if you want to see a truckload of stupid.
In any case it's nice to see that even someone who goes all in on
is calling out this stupid crap.
if you really did play in japanese it's not hard to look into it
https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E3%83%8F%E3%83%BC%E3%83%95_(%E6%B7%B7%E8%A1%80)#%E7%8F%BE%E4%BB%A3%E3%81%AE%E6%99%82%E4%BB%A3
there's 6 letters, one of which is repeated so 5 letters, conveniently spotted on another object in the same location, it's easy even if you can't understand the gimmick
the problem is when they do it again for horadori institute, I suspect it heavily relies on how the japanese language works so the english version came across as being much more confusing
>links to unrelated wikipedia sections going on into the history of mixed blood people not about the word
moron
And the part at the top that is relevant is a load of bullshit linking to sources that are just privileged half-whites whining about how they don't have enough privilege.
Lien is a gullible moron, or this is the way Uchikoshi is saying how Lien was having a hard life. Double sounds moronic honestly.
I KNOW
I KNOW I'VE LET YOU DOWN
*ahem*
I wish there were more of these bullshit puzzles in the game. I also wish the escape death game shit uchikoshi teased with the ARG was part of the game.
Middle is okay, but I wish the game let you look at the clues again before demanding the solution and calling you a brainlet for failing to remember what the clues looked like.
What's the last one a reference to? The Character Table in Tearer's Sominum?
So the Frayer is Blick fricking Winkel.
Uchikoshi... I kneel.
>Falls for the same exact trick twice
lol moron
only twice?
And Mizuki is You
And Shoma is Coco
>Somnium 1 was fairly grounded in realism until super human strength Mizuki
>Somnium 2 introduced DNA frickery and clones, simulation schizos, overplayed the porno mag powers way too much in serious routs, and the final villain was killed off-screen
Uchikoshi has lost it. I hate him and anyone that defends him.
>actually call the masked girl being a Mizuki clone fairly early on
>it's revealed that she's both Kizuna's Big Sis and Lien's partner
This game has a lot of "ZTD twists" and I dunno how to feel about it
I felt pissed off for the most part. I honestly feel this game is on the same level as ZTD. So many characters got screwed over and the stories are just dumb. Why do both Mizukis look EXACTLY the same in clothing and hairstyle when they were 18? Why the frick didn't LIEN OR KIZUNA mentioned how the clone Mizuki looked like the one they knew? I'm too tired to play it from the "true flowchart" ordering, but I'm annoyed at this shit.
Actually yeah is it just me or does this feel like Uchi trying to tackle shit he originally had in the pipeline for Zero Time Dilemma?
Yeah is was pretty easy to tell even with disguised voice. You could tell just by the way the va talks.
>he's into Shibari
my kind of guy
Is this Uchikoshi's worst game yet?
Not while Remember11 exists.
Not while Never7 exists.
Wait, was Uchikoshi always a hack?
Ding ding ding ding! We have a winner!
Holup did I speedplay the game or is this a plothole
>you find Komeji's right half
>Kizuna is in your group and she can still walk
>ackshyually this happened 6 years into the future
Story is non-linear
In that part you're playing as Mizuki's secret clone sister 6 years ago, the masked girl
komeji died in the past. I cant be arsed to look up the timelines but that wasnt present.
>tfw I've given up avoiding spoilers because the game looks so disappointing anyway
I liked it better than AI1 and ZTD. The twist was great but some points I acknowledge are a tad worse than the first like the ending. However I called AI1's bodyswapping ridiculously early on which is why it was just blah to me. I couldn't call AI2's twist at all.
>he lets Ganker decide if he should like a game or not.
Ngmi
That webm did it for me
The speech in the webm is super cringe and probably the worst one in the entire game. But it's such a tiny potion that doesnt effect anything game. If that does it for you then i cant help you.
In the first game it was optional dialogue and now he is forcing us to listen to woke bullshit from what i can tell at lest twice now it just going to get worse if you support it
It's optional dialogue here too. Play the game.
I played the first one when it came out and was kinda ambivalent about it. Seeing that this one is even cringier than the first makes me not want to play it.
Noo I'm sure if you keep giving them money he will stop eventually
Ota. Eternally friendzoned.
When did Iris get so tall?
She's not
Ota is 4'4
she's naked
Honestly its more surprising how small ota is. His jacket from the first game makes him look larger.
Ota was also subject to genome experiments like Soma.
Source: my schizophrenia.
Mayumi and Takero were actually early genetic experiment prototypes, leading to Mayumi's dementia and Takero's heart attack. Their genetic weirdness passed on to Ota, which is why he looks so fricking dumb.
>every dead body is just a bloodless model noclipped into terrain or an object
this is really fricking boring compared to the first game
what's funny is how kaniza's move is super effective against the final boss
>My style remains undefeated
>This character does 999 damage to the final boss but the secret collab character doesn’t
>collab character
What?
If you go to a certain topiary in Iris’ Somnium and interact with it, you’ll get a Kusemon egg that hatches into a little digital Monokuma.
? Yes he does, just use the other attack anon...
The fricking final form with the one wing got me good, this whole somnium was a highlight.
is komeiji's 'head' an animatronic tier fake head or is it his actual head
It's his real head, he's just like that. It's like Ota's dad, it's just fricking cartoon style for some reason. Which makes Gen's fricked up skeleton being a plot point weirder.
this is legit one of the biggest annoyances i have with the game
>Gen's entire backstory and personality is defined by his misshapen head
>xray komeiji and it clearly shows he actually has a cube skull
>his head is never mentioned by anyone, ever
in the fricking bin
It's a simulation.
And a wife and child too
the world is a simulation?
>literally nobody hornyposting about the fact that we now have two Mizukies
shame
AAAAAA SANDWICHED BY FLAT MIZUKI CHEST ToT
I want them both to prey on Shouma.
On that note a bit weird that he still acts like a little kid when he's 18 but I'll take it.
He's also very shy and introverted as-is, so he's probably pretty emotionally underdeveloped.
Do you think he's all smooth down there?
Can someone tell me if this game is good or not outside of the few pozzed dialogues? I liked the first game
If you liked the first game you'll like this one. Depending on what you liked it might be slightly better or slightly worse than the 1st one but still about the same quality.
I saw
by accident so I hope that isn't a big spoiler, although I kinda guessed something like that with the "half body part missing then found" thing in the description of the game
it's sort of a big spoiler but it also probably won't spoil literally everything for you
just by looking at the body shape/height i think it should be extremely obvious who's behind the mask anyway
Also her fighting style, portrait expressions and speaking mannerisms. They made it too obvious tbh.
>few pozzed dialogues?
its only really one commentary per game
there are way more wacky shit
i thought the first game was a 6-7/10 but I've dropped this game around what i assume is roughly the halfway point because the character interactions, humour, investigations and body discovered scenes are all much worse imo.
However, it has better characters, more OST, better gameplay.
>not a single character (aside from Kizuna) mentions how Mizuki Date looks exactly the same as Mizuke Kuranushi
Date does though
I should've worded it better. No one, besides Kizuna, mentions to Mizuki Date that 6 years ago there was a literal replica of her running around trying to solve the HB case as well. They get freaked out by Jin's other half popping up 6 years later but not there being 2 identical Mizuki's.
tbh the whole reveal was pretty weak as the masked woman literally acts like Mizuki so it was pretty obvious. They also implied there are clones pretty early on and multiple timelines, so I guessed it was Mizuki from another timeline or her clone early on in the story.
What happens if you put in Dahlia Boat before knowing it? Can you skip half the game?
you find ai somnium 3 electric boogaloo
No seriously, can you finish the game quicker that way?
Judging by the fact that you can skip content in other games (VLR, ZTD), I'd assume yes?
I'm sure it'd give you a shitton of locks
Frick that
What if you put in the nil number before you're supposed to? Assuming everyone tried a random guess their first time around it had to happen to someone.
The number is randomized on a per game basis and it's currently unknown if the number is even generated before you get to it
How many hours long is this game? I just finished what I guess is both Ryuki routes and got the name.
It took me 30h, just like the first game.
Do they refer to Mama as female in Japanese?
>assuming their gender based on look
Aiba is such a bigot
the one who assumes is Mizuki
Shouldn't Aiba have known who that was?
yes which is why they have to go through all the "oh no ABIS servers are down but we're still gonna let our people operate without an alternative so Aiba lost her memory from that moment 6 years ago" bullshit
Why aren't Ota and Iris a thing? They're both in a weird state of teenage arrested development and they're constantly together. Does Ota really have absolutely no game?
He's a creep manchild
Yeah but Iris is a womanchild and he's the closest boy to her.
I'm a little surprised there's no character with two AI-balls.
Ganker boyfriend and /x/ girlfriend, truly the perfect combo
Iris wants the dad dick
How is Gen having a fricked up head a plot point, yet no one says anything about ShovelForge Steve's head.
he's just plain ugly in a stylized way
like Chikara
Should have been a game about Mizuki going schizo over broken timelines.
Still find it funny how it remains completely unexplained how Date (and Iris I guess) remembered shit from other timelines in the first game, yet they went out of their way to explain Mizuki's freakish strength.
>unexplained
I think it's obvious what happened.
>Also, I want to frick Tokiko so bad.
Honestly, given she wants to bust out of the game into reality there's a non-zero chance she'd do that.
I just hope she's okay with this world being more of a shithole than the one she just left.
I don't think she cares so much as she wants it to just be real.
Mizuki's design is so good.
A shame she'll probably wear something else in a potential sequel since she's graduating.
I want to forcefully correct her idiotic ideologies.
Was about to delete the game and remembered I haven't done this yet, where do I enter Fray Dumb Letter?
ok nvm found it
I need to do that too. Where?

I gotta ask, do you autists know of any novel authors that are similar to Uchi's style?
Twist heavy, Sci-fi shit. Lotta comedy?
not really, sc-fi authors tend to go for the depressing and serious tone. The only comedy I can think of right now is hitchikers guide to galaxy, and that's barely a sci-fi and the plot is really simple.
Kek
Thanks, I drew it yesterday and had to go back to the game to find a picture of Jin and which half was actually his. I had to quadruple check whether I actually got it right.
Also, how come there's no spoilery pictures of this game online yet? I couldn't even find a picture of the Tearer so I just had to draw him from memory. I'm not even sure he looked like that. He for sure wasn't a buff manlet.
I'm mad that Ryuki and Tama are irrelevant 2nd half of the game. I was expecting to play them near the route.
If an AI 3 ever gets made they're probably going to ignore the diverge thing, probably gonna be more of a meta-twist where the player is in on it but not the characters
the fact that they made a point to mention how unsatisfying it is, and have the main characters unhappy even if they don't know why makes me think you're right
>Ryuki was just unsatisfied instead of having a full mental breakdown at all of it
come on, after all his schizo moments teased in the game you can't expect me to believe that when that guy gets hit with the motherload of all revelations he's going to just be like "oh I was expecting a final boss fight..."
Do they ever explain Ryuki's mental issues or is he just kinda like that? I don't recall. Is it just trauma based on his family dying?
probably a little of both. And whenever the frick he got infected by TC-PERGE, though I'm still unclear on the timeline so those may have existed prior to infection, regardless the Diverge timeline would've fricked with him hardcore as it's beating into his skull that everything he went through could have been and potentially can be avoided through (You) knowing a code at the right time
I wonder if this one flopped worse than the first one
Going by steam numbers it seems to be doing way better.
So AI3 is 100% confirmed?
Was she right all along?
>you will never have emotionless sex with her and reach mokcha or whatever its called
For her to be wrong the world of AI:The Somnium Files would have to be real
no, she was wrong before failing suicide and being given a cheat sheet
video games aren't real, anon
>t. Tokiko
Everything happened as she wanted it to.
I just want more Ryuki and Tama scenes.
>Shoma is tight-lipped and never talks to you about anything helpful until you mend the bond between him and his father.
>On the other route he just starts telling you about Horadori in the most relaxed way possible despite shovelforge steve clipping into the terrain.
>took me a while to notice the AI capitalized in nirvanA Initiative
>took me until the end credits to realize AINI literally means AI2 in Japanese
They will never stop adding layers to the AI name. We already had a quadruple layer in the first game with "ai = love", "artificial intelligence", "a eye", and "ai sounds like eye".
>took me a while to notice the AI capitalized in nirvanA Initiative
you should've already noticed when they announced the game
t. someone who feels dumb for not realizing why half of the eye is blue in the logo
That's pretty awesome.
And nah I purposedly stayed away from everything related to the game until release so I never looked to hard at the logo.
Tama's reluctant half-hearted singing almost makes the numerous dance numbers worthwhile.
Almost.
Anyone have pic of tama making that joke about the spread legs and o- face?
The worst part is that if Uchikoshi makes a third game I will play it anyway even if it will have even more hack writing
actually how come more of the cast aren't infected by the mind hack nanomachines
it's only like Ryuki and Shoma and the other yakuza guy from the first game
>virus spreads through the air
>MK-ULTRA videos making Ryuki go crazy
>lol no effect whatsoever on Mizuki, either one of them, or the rest of the cast
yeah ok, sure
I was confused why the main cast wasn't PERGED during the final fight at the stadium, where all the naix grunts were infected with the schizo nanomachines and only ryuki would have resistance to it at that point
What kinda game is this? It's on sale for nothing right now.
point and click-ish murder mystery visual novel
There's a torrent
https://arch.b4k.co/v/thread/603550362/#603619560
>linking the torrent of the sequel
moron
yeah, you don't need to play the first game, uchikoshi said so 🙂
Yea this shit is full of viruses.
I finished the entire game and got no viruses, gay.
The twitter crowd is pushing Mizuki to be a lesbian, so she won't have kids. At least date can impregnate Iris if things get dire.
that results in Sejima's bloodline continuing
how horrifying
But bro, how can we ever make a sequel without So's evil spawns as the villain?
how many bastard spawn can one man have
like frick dude your first extramarital fling didn't work out too well for you just use your hand
I don't think Lesbo would have a size fetish but then again, he might just retcon this and make her a lesbian.
This is a sequel to Ai: The Somnium Files, it came out 4 days ago. The first game is 80% off on Steam right now
Don't listen to
, he's a shill. Go find a Zero Escape ROM and play it on your DS emulator instead.
>Mizuki canonically has a size fetish
Welp, the Kaname family legacy ends with Mizuki I guess...
>Lien, of all people
jesus Mizuki
>"Now you understand my pain Date!"
I wonder why Ryuki’s obsession with Date only starts getting mentioned towards the end of his route. There was
>physical relationship
>ryuki mishearing day as date and tama calling him a gay for it
>asking mizuki what date thinks of him
>saying he loves him
>his entire somnium
But before that there’s no real indication that he gives a shit outside of being his kouhai. It’s sort of tacked on.
Honestly Ryuki's character is a complete mess. He solely exists to be a twist for shit like the timeline frickery and the nil number stuff
Having another protag honestly messed with his character as a whole. He had a lot going but I guess Ushikoshi needed the schizo for the twist.
I think there was an aim to pair up everyone by the end to promote the whole 2 halves metaphor. Ryuki just got the shittiest development.
Just beat game, now i need answer
What should I do with the numbers Tokiko names in the epilogue?
when meeting her for the first time as ryuki, she asked if (you) were a frayer
Go to the time you first met Tokiko and give her that nil number. Prepare for
disappointment
>the nil number is actually randomized for each playthrough
I wonder if you have enough time on your hands if it would be possible for you to actually get lucky and guess it, or use a hex editor or something to find it
Does anything special happen as well if you put in Tearer's name in the first somnium on a fresh file before you go down the left path?
>Naix rebuilds the chapel up to the same state of decay with crumbling sand falling from the ceiling
they actually didn't rebuild anything though, anon
Anon...Did you actually play the game?
>HE DOESN'T KNOW
>le LGBT face
Be honest, are you people gonna play Hackoshi's next game? I am done with this homosexual, but checking this thread and the archive I'm surprised people liked it.
I will continue to play them and not pay for them
That's what I did and I felt like I wasted my time tbh.
Honestly there's a lot I don't like about this series, but games like this don't release very often so I put up with it.
I'll still play his games anon. I don't know why, but I just enjoy his wild rides. And I'm positive that the next game will be even more bat shit than this.
I see no reason to stop playing ever17 remakes
I mostly ironically enjoy his writing after ZTD lol. It's more fun that way.
Tama should Amazon press Ryuki and have his human babies, but I also don't mind Mating press.
Still mad how they treated Date and Aiba's relationship in this game.
Tama may be more physically attractive but Aiba is far hotter. 10/10 Autistic AI wife
>You will never have an AI wife that loves you and gives you cool X-ray and thermo vision
It hurts...
Yeah.
same deal with Date and Hitomi.
Same reasons, I know, but incredibly disappointing coming fresh off the first game
>Barely interacted with each other throughout the game
>Mostly indifferent when meeting up again with him after being missing for 6 years
Probably the thing I disliked most about this game, even more than the asspull twists. Especially after the emotional ending in the first game just for it to seem like they barely care about each other in the sequel
I wouldn't qualify any of the twists in this as asspulls, everything was pretty well foreshadowed.
Physical appearances being the same does make sense since Mizuki is a literal clone of Bibi, but everything else is correct.
>Bibi
It's Neenee you philistine.
>implying anyone that knows japanese cares about this game
By physical appearance I mostly meant clothes and hairstyle. Her face and body being the same makes sense
By that logic you should also be questioning why everyone except Iris and Ota also looks the same in the 6 year timeskip, Shoma has an excuse of muh genes but nobody else does.
Superior nippon genes folded 1000 times
Didn't she have Marco? Or was that only in the present day?
Marco was only present day. Shame we did not hear anything from him, they must've ran out of budget.
Why the frick would Pewter design an AI that is extremely shy and barely speaks, anyways? What benefit does that have?
Didn't Pewter also not design Tama? Honestly he's probably just hooking the new AI Balls to the openAI APIs so he can laze around reading gay porn instead of doing his job.
>the new AI-ball in AI3 will have its personality derived from 5ch shitposters
not needing to hire another voice actor until the next game
>six year gaps
Well it's simple anon
first you look at the bonus menu after you've finished NI
then you realize Ai3 is an inevitability, and it too will have a SIX YEARS AGO
that makes three sixes
and just leaves one small question
what happens when you flip them?
I will forever kneel to Uchi if he manages to tie up all the ZTD dropped plot points and other plot holes in AI 3
>the bonus 999 somnium is actually a preview for the third game
>seven was actually an ABIS agent all this time and had an AI-Ball
You joke, but I feel like Uchikoshi would.
>Reach this scene
plays
>Both emotional and funny because both of them are dorks when they reunited
>2nd game throws all that shit away
Frick Uchikoshi
Frick Ganker for defending the 2nd game
Frick (You) for not giving me a simulation route
It hurts bros...
Just imagine how Ai3 will treat Ryuki and Tama's relationship. She'll probably ditch his ass for being crazy and he'll be in an asylum pretending to be a superhero as to not spoil 2.
>haha they're like divorced couple
Why does everyone say there will be an AI3? First game flopped and the only reason the sequel is exist is because they were mid devlopment when AI1 releases and they could reuse assets.
I understood that reference.
they also bring back puff-puff
I wonder if that's more of a meme in Japan given it's a Dragon Quest thing. I feel like I only ever see it in translated stuff.
So many references to Zero Escape and no hint of a new game.
Why Uchikoshi like this?
Do you REALLY want a new Zero Escape after ZTD?
I loved ZTD, it was the video game equivalent of a MST3K movie. Give me more trashkino, Uchikoshi.
>I loved ZTD
I hate you so fricking much.
the only problem with ZTD was the ending
And the COMPLEX MOTIVES
And Diana being a shit
And K not being there
And so many other things but it's been like 6 years now that I mostly.
>Tama
>Ryuki
>Gay
lol. lmao even.
Why not?
It can't get any worse, but it can always get better
Seeing AI2, it can always be the same or worse lol.
Only 6 more years until Uchikoshi releases his magnum opus that ties together every single videogame he has made into the same universe.
Holy kino, I unironically hope it happens.
Hope you are ready for the ARG where Kyle swaps his personality with yours and takes control of your body.
Uchis obsession with young women having unexplained supernatural abilities needs to stop.
finally, pepsiman will be canon to the zero escape universe
>More Carlos
>More Phido
>More Akane being a schizo b***h killing off everyone in a timeline (including her own family/loved ones) when it doesn't go just the way she likes
>even more complex motives
We NEED it, god only knows how many more snails we could run into out there
So it's not just the one character who's lgbt but the whole cast. Why did somnium gays lie?
There's maybe three non-straight characters (Mama, Tama and probably Ryuki).
BDSM is LGBT. Sorry to break it to you.
>Tama
>not straight
Tama is bisexual, when you meet Iris in the high school early on she makes a joke about fricking the teacher for good grades and that she'd be into it if the teacher was a chick too.
Pewter is gay
>Pewter is gay
looks like a clown
>Mama okama/trans
looks like a fat pig
What did Uchikoshi mean by that?
>Tama and Ryuki
>gay
Tell me how I know you're a troony without telling me.
Tama is bi. Ryuki is either gay or just off because the only person he seems to show any level of attraction to is Date.
>Ryuki, there's more than 2 genders you CIS scum
This came out of nowhere. What did Tama mean by that, though?
she's autistic and gets angry over nothing
This is Uchikoshi's new fixation since he spends all his free time on Twitter, pls understand.
Not really new, unless you count as AI1 as new
LGBT was meh, I mostly thought it was Okama shit because Tama is one.
The game better give me a good reason for Boss pressuring a unstable schizo into solving the case in 3 days
Boss isn't pissed at him for fricking up in the NAIX underground.
I'm aware, that doesn't excuse telling an unstable person "hey you better solve this shit in 3 days" which may only make the situation worse.
Don't forget that this game does take place in Japan, telling a schizo to just pick your chin up and go back to work isn't out of the ordinary
But boss isn't like that moron, she gave so many chances to Date but for some reason, she's pressuring Ryuki to the point of demotion.
Date never shot at an unarmed civilian like Ryuki just did prior to getting scolded by Boss.
Also, as people have said, Date never fricked up THAT bad.
>guy was so overzealous to solve the case he shot a civilian
>tell him to solve the case ASAP or he is fricked
It's just asking for trouble.
1. It's funny to pick on crazy people
2. this is the same chick who decided sending a SAT squad after one of her own officers was a good idea and we never got a reason as to why, something's up
>Spoiler
God I forgot about that. So many things that don't make sense in this fricking shitty game.
I hate the flowchart twist shit, it made things more confusing than it should be.
The SAT/Gen Dies ending made no sense, Date makes a plot point that there might be a NAIX member in ABIS but that is never followed up on in the true ending
I honestly thought Boss was the present-day Tearer after that ending until they outright told you Mame did it.
Tokikos speeches may mark the first time I've enjoyed "Uchi reads you his favourite wiki articles"
Boss just let's her daughter be a phantom thief when she's a teen before joining Abis nothing makes sense anymore.
Boss actively uses blackmail on powerful figures to pull in favors and whatnot, this is in line with her.
Honestly my assumption is Boss just has a massive soft spot for anybody she truly cares about, but that list is like two people (Date and Bibi) so she turns a blind eye and does her absolute best to support them regardless of what they do.
Look, Uchikoshi is doing his best, okay?!
>hitomi's arm is magically cured during the dance ending of the first game
>it's not cured during the dance ending of AI 2
what happened?
Why does Tama have Date’s face???
Why does Ryuki have anal fissures???
Why did everyone pretend Ryuki was dead in the epilogue???
didnt finish the first one i think i got some routes done can i play this without getting the first one true ending? im more interested in the ryuki side
lol sure bro, the 2nd one might be more enjoyable if you didn't finish the first game. you don't need knowledge of the first game tbqh
>im more interested in the ryuki side
It's best you don't play this game then.
can't believe Aiba had time during the investigation of HB serial killings to attend college
Tama being such a coomer made think She learned it from being with Date or something
Could've been a cool plot point maybe
I honestly felt like there should've been a weird, unexplained moment of Date and Tama Psyncing, which turns out to be between the time-jump. Just because I wanna see that dynamic of them trying to out-perv each other.
Please don't NTR Tama from Ryuki.
How does she do it when she is just an eyeball?
Immersive AR, or guided self-bondage?
3D gay here. I really liked Tama and Ryuki. I'm considering making models, rig them, all that stuff so i can use them for coom animations. But i fear that spike chunsoft would just shut me down so im debating if its worth the effort.
>Tama constantly flirting with Ryuki and protecting him, vice versa with Ryuki even if it jeopardize their careers in ABIS
>Mizuki calling them a married couple and Tama acting like a tsundere
>"they're just supportive bro!"
Westerners have become really bad at fictional media relationships.
Well, Tama's into Ryuki for sure. Ryuki seems to only be into Date.
God I want to be crushed by her fat oranges.
How do they make even a random bimbo character so great?
>breast veins
I want to go to Atami.
>no Mizuki goes with the receptionist to Atami ending
it's not fair, when will ABIS let their female agents be equal to the males?
Are Mizuki or Bibi gay though? Their part on the finale song is all about how they can't get boyfriends because they intimidate all the boys fricking cowards missing on the best, rarest snu-snu experience: getting their pelvis pulverized by a petite girl.
Mizuki outright compliments Lien's wiener in the ending.
mizuki is straight as an arrow but bibi REALLY likes her sister
Well, if they fricked at least it would technically be masturbation.
I'm unsure why we don't have MORE hornyposting about the game, considering it's already a pretty horny game in and of itself. Do people dislike it that much?
You can only do so much with horny shit, first game had Date who was the king of pervs and wanted to escalate, the game being a disappointing sequel didn't really help
The more horny the media, the lesser the horny posting, them's the rules.
We'll sooner get a Marco goes to Atami ending than that
Komeji deserved better bros
>even on pixiv there is essentially no artwork of this game minus the commissioned stuff
Despite this, it's easily the most succesful Uchikoshi game in japan I think, nips don't care for Zero Escape it seems
Nips are full of mobile game addicts. Literally the most soulles audience so it flopping there doesnt mean much to me. Having sad that
>it's easily the most succesful Uchikoshi game in japan I think
Can you give me a source on that?
His somnium was literally just an escape room but it was good. No idea why the Zero Escape team distance themselves from that.
