3/4 are the easiest on the eyes. I remember how awful Gen 5 looked, the Pokemon names were so pixelated and the moving sprites in battle looked terrible compared to even Emeralds movements somehow. The battle speed was way too fast to even keep track of (presumably to make up for Gen 4 being so slow). Some of the music in it was okay though.
I disagree, but I cannot stand any Pokémon designs after gen 1. I love the watercolor aesthetic to the art and I like having a smaller roster of monsters in general. Even in gen 2 so much soul was already lost. Sure the sprites look better but that is strictly limited to your sprites, the enemy sprites looked far better in gen 1. And having full color is nice, but unnecessary.
Gen 3 is all you need really, but I still replay 1 and 2 once in a while. Gen 3 is where I'll go full autism team building and battle frontiering and live dexing because I like it so much.
>inb4 gen war thread
BW2, runner up is Crystal.
platinum
Aesthetically, Gen 4 was peak

Platinum.
Pokemmo
Emerald, Platinun, and BW2 are all great, but if I had to pick Emerald is the best. Honarable mention to gen 1 for having the best designed overworld.
HgSs or B&W 2
Its pretty hard to top Crystal, its probably a top 10 game of all time.
It's funny how they could never match the visuals of the 1st generation. Each subsequent game in the series has been a massive downgrade.
Gen 2 is literally Gen 1 but the mons dont look like shit anymore.
>replying to obvious genwunner bait
C'mon now.

Gen 1 is very appealing in screenshots but all the sprite blinking is fricking annoying
Do we know why they apparently forgot what antialiasing is when they made gen 5?
Game freak forgets a lot of things

Emerald obviously
either emerald, hg/ss, or b2/w2
honorable mention to platinum and FR/LG
the hoenngays have arrived
Gen 1 through 3 not haviuthe physical/special split immediately disqualifies those gens from being the best anything
phsy/spec split is for nu-gen trannies. Classic pokemon chads don't need it.
its funny how i can go back and play gen 2 and not notice or care about pokemon stats
I dunno, but Gen 5 was definitely the worst and anyone who picks it is a certified moron.
Gen V was peak.
I wish GF gave a shit again.
>series starts doing regions outside of Japan
>quality begins to declune
they need to go back to japan asap. the european tour has been a complete disaster for mankind
It's tied between Emerald and BW2
Wish we had more 2d rpgs and pokemon games they are so comfy
BW2, they're all better than the 3D ones, though.
Anything but Gen 5
