DmC > DMC5 was less pronounced because it had the caveat of being a spinoff developed by a new team in the history of otherwise solid games by the main team, whereas Mania had the polar opposite going for it - A stellar canon game made by B team in the history of mostly subpar to awful games by A Team
Ace Combat 7 went through two dev cycles and the final product came together in a miraculous few months with the best song in the game being recorded a week or so before going gold. It's not a perfect game by any means but it is way better than it had any right to be. Also think about how they went from Ass Horizon to AC7 after 8 years.
Generations was honestly more of a comeback than Mania. Sega didn't even make Mania. Generations was the first game since 06 that anybody was at all pleased with.
Gotta give the No Man's Sky devs some credit; they stuck with it. The game was a complete disaster of lies and unfinished mechanics, but they went quiet, continued to work on it, and have now basically put every mechanic in they promised and more. All without charging for any of the updates.
Did they frick up? Absolutely. But they not only fixed everything for free, but continue to create more content. Even if you don't care about the game, it is pretty impressive. Most devs would've just cut their losses.
>lie publicly to every single person about every single thing in your game >bank literal millions of dollars
BUT ITS OKAY BECAUSE THEY FIXED IT AFTER TAKING 90% OF THE PLAYER BASES' MONEY HAHAHA RIGHT GUYS!!?
Contemplate ending your existence voluntarily. You are beyond help.
while that is fricked i still take more issue with the game having nothing to do even after the many many updates
there's no big shit to work towards
base building: largely pointless unless you care about making trade items
making trade items: largely pointless since there's nothing of consequence you can do with money, no upgrading your ships doesn't count you'll never be able to use all that shit
fighting: largely pointless, space piracy only gets you worhtless money and a negative reputation that doesn't matter, sentinels are helpless and don't provide anything of use
upgrading shit: largely pointless since there's nothing that can threaten you on foot or in space
expeditions: boring
plot: why the frick would i care about artemis or travelers or the atlas when nothing happens
the game is a literal infinite nightmare of monotonous procedural generation, once you see all the patterns there's nothing else to do
Of course it's fricked what they did, but considering they went back and delivered everything they promised and more for free, I'm inclined to not hate their guts as much as just be wary of them.
A comeback tends to start in a bad place that you work your way back out from. They fit with the thread you dingus.
anyone who doesn't say FFXIV is ignorant >shitty mmo that almost bankrupted SE >now one of the big 3 (big 2 really but you have to give gw2 some credit) >singlehandedly bankrolling all of SE's current bad decisions
Came here to say this.
The difference between launch FFXIV and current FFXIV is astronomical and basically allows Square to make soulful games like Strangers of Paradise thanks to FFXIV bank.
The distant second is Fire Emblem Awakening. Series went from the brink of being shelved in the Nintendo vault along with Fzero and Starfox, to having more representation in Smash Bros than fricking Mario.
Mania doesn't count because Forces came right after and it was dogshit so it was more of a "breath of air in a sea of garbage". I feel like a comeback means something "stays back" for a little longer than 1 entry.
If anything can be considered a comeback for Sonic (in my opinion) it's Frontiers, even though it has it's myriad flaws and isn't better than Mania, everything shortly before it and a while after it has been better than what Sonic's been getting for a long while. Well received movies, TV Show, a new game coming out that looks really good, and free dlc for Frontiers that will extend it's lifespan means Sonic as a franchise is in a fairly good spot in terms of goodwill
DmC to DMC5 is pretty fricking spectacular.
DmC > DMC5 was less pronounced because it had the caveat of being a spinoff developed by a new team in the history of otherwise solid games by the main team, whereas Mania had the polar opposite going for it - A stellar canon game made by B team in the history of mostly subpar to awful games by A Team
Strange, isn't it?
Idk
I like being alone and not being apart but it’s going to be hard when you lose communication with people in game it tickles way harder
I'm glad > is back and is drawing again I love his stuff unironically
>shadman returned
I'm glad he's back because i made some new shadman gifs but never got to use them...until now.

It's from his Twitter account. He posted it two days ago.
>two days ago
He wasn't murdered in prison? Well good for him. Man has a lot of hairy buttholes getting eaten out to draw to make up for lost time.
I simply cannot stop myself from talking about >_______!
>Shadman

OP said biggest/best, not worst.
>What was the biggest comeback in video game history?
The wii u to the switch.

>It's not a perfect game
But it sure was great. I think compared to the PS2 trilogy it is better than 5 and maaayybe 4.
ace combat gets my autism pumped up for some reason. i dont even really care about jet fighters that much
Because AC is all about power fantasy and it's one of the best franchises ever to do it.
no for me its about the planes specifically, i get the same feeling with model kits of jet fighters
here to remind you n*ggets that 7 is the worst mainline ac game
perhaps it's a bit soon to say
but amored core 6 might be it
from okay-ish forgotten games to potential goty contender
Kys
what got you upset little buddy?
Reread OP homosexual
Unironically Mighty No. 9. I will not elaborate.
For me it's FF14. From the original catastrophic release to what it is now...it's the most successful redemption story in gaming I've seen.
shäd is a cute now. the 1 year hrt break did him good.
didn't he go to prison because he fell into drugs after failing to chase after some girl or something like that?
Deus Ex
New DX when?
Shadd McMann is back?
What's he fricking planning?
his clone is in a chest and a heavily armored guy is going to walk in front of it
i dunno, something devious
For me it's Mega Man 9, in terms of both classic MM and Mega Man as a whole
>shadman

Tomb Raider

Most well written response on this god forsaken site

What a fricking ni-
FF14, objectively.
most of his art sucks but there are a few nice drawings

there is none
DX:HR
>Mania
>comeback
It was only a 1/4th of an original game and the rest was needless memberberries.
Mania doesn't count because Forces came right after and it was dogshit so it was more of a "breath of air in a sea of garbage". I feel like a comeback means something "stays back" for a little longer than 1 entry.

I don't think this thread is about games anymore
It never was
>Somehow Shadman returned
Is reality being written by unpaid, hack writers?
Life is gettibg low ratings and lambasted by critics, they had to bring back a controversial character to try and improve ratings.
Why wouldn't he returned? He did a small time charge.
Final Fantasy 1 saved Square.
