Dragon Quest XI
I've never really gotten into that kind of traditional JRPG before. Is it any good for newcomers?
Yeah XI is a good one for newcomers.
Yeah the 9th one in the series is the best for newcomers
Palworld
Get out of my thread.
you didn't even know it existed before finding it on reddit
But enough about FFXVI
Elden Ring.
yup
>no covenants whatsoever
>no Moon or space level
>torrent is entirely static throughout the game with no movement upgrades etc
>speaking of, very few ways to move through or interact with the open world- whole game is a dungeon
>vast empty spaces in areas like Liurnia which is just a flat fricking lake or snowfield which is somehow even more empty and just terrible
>story is cool but chopped up and way too ambiguous when it comes to basic events, Melina is barely in the game
I love Elden Ring but it wasn’t the post-Souls, next- gen level up that it should have been
Performance was absolute shit on PC at launch. Dropped it for about a year then tried it and it's probably one of my favorites
I can't recall. Being hyped up for video games nowadays can only turn out tragic.
Huniepop 2
Tears of the Kingdom
Witcher 3
Anon... you must've memory-holed the launch.
Dota 2
Bannerlord, fricking turks can't do anything
Like a dragon: infinite wealth
Get out of here with your FOTM shit.
Armored Core 6
MGSV
one of a kind game of a decade
Yakuza 8, wasn't overhyped and I got exactly what I was looking for
Devil May Cry 5, probably.
I don't get hype anymore.
getting hype is how these companies get away with their half baked scams.
recently discovered Wanted Dead, Titan Fall 2 and Lethal Company.
Okami. Not saying I hated every game since, it just they disappointed me in an area or wasn't as good as I thought they were going to be. G4 review of Cubivore was extremely misleading and while the game was amazing and one of my favorites for the Gamecube it was nothing compare to what I thought it was going to be. Thought it was going to be a sandbox and less of a stage based game. Likewise for Naughty Bear which I thought it was a parody of GTA with a smaller dense map and not an arcade challenge type of game with only like 5 locations. Love the hell out of it but what was in my mind was much better. Okami is the only game that gave me what I expected then ADDs on top of that going out of it way to give me far more content than I could had ever expected out of it. It have flaws sure such as fighting the same boss like 4 times or the long ass intro but the game gave exactly what was expected out of it and much more. One of the few games where I seen people literally b***h about how much content it have as they feel it never ends when it should. No grinding or filler, it just that fricking long of a game. More so when you factor in it was originally a PS2 game. It have no right to be as long as it is.
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk was a lot of fun and I'm sad I've 100%'d it.
Dark Souls 1 also Human Revolution that same year
Super Mario Odyssey.
Undertale
Pikmin 4, despite its flaws is an easy pick for my favorite Pikmin game. The Dandori challenges are just too good. Need that after the huge stinker Tears of the Kingdom was.
DMC5, more or less. Hopefully DD2 soon, especially now that Warfarer is confirmed.
Of course I'm not talking about "I was hoping for a good game and it was good" but genuinely excited.
pikmin 4
Hogwarts Legacy
Re8
Entropy: Zero 2
I played it blind, didn't watch Pyrocynical's review, just had a recommendation on here and so I played it. As a result the story was much more impactful and enjoyable. All you Gankeridiots should take note and try the next game you're curious about without any spoilers.
DMC5 made me love life again
