It hasn't. And I doubt it died for you when that interview was conducted, but rather when you got older an found out the choices they'd made disagreed with your personal biases.
If you'd only played less tardbait kids games and read more education material, you'd be of a high enough IQ to not cry endlessly at the world ignoring you.
Dahlia literally has a black-coded name, so she is, in fact, black.
Then there's the whole Game Corner thing. Entirely cut from Platinum because it was a last minute change to cover for their new focus (Remember, BW started development as soon as DP were done, so this decision would have been made before Platinum release), and for HGSS, they had the time to make a shitty mini-game for it.
Then you have shit like PBR blackwashing characters for no reason for the international releases.
I don’t know if you’re all a bunch of underageb& or what, and I realize this is unthinkable given today’s media environment, but this inclusivity shit was barely relevant in America in 2010. There’s no way anyone in gamefreak was thinking, “how do we really represent the lived experience of black queer youth?” while they were designing black and white (much less gen 4). More likely, they knew their setting was based on a world-class cosmopolitan metropolis, and decided to reflect the character of that multi-ethnic city. It’s not about “inclusivity,” as much as it is about accurately depicting the American setting.
It's more like a gradual decline.
But if it had to be a specific point, it would be LGPE followed by SwSh. Not even worth pirating.
Still keep an eye on the series and visit /vp/ occasionally though. Old habit.
It died for me when it stopped feeling like some global cultural staple that everyone was apart of. From Gen 1 to Gen 4 it seemed like Pokemon was everywhere, and it didn't matter who you were, autist or normalgay, everyone could talk about Pokemon. Then from Gen 5 onwards that kinda stopped until Pokemon Go and Detective Pikachiu came out and it became a major cultural thing again, and I genuinely fear that SV might have killed Pokemon among normalgays, but the only way we'll know for sure is looking at how well their successors do and if GF can course correct the hole they've dug for themselves.
In my experience gen 5 led to a small revival among college age people who were kids when the originals came out. I don't know how sales reflect that, but people I knew personally who didn't care about Pokemon as a franchise were talking about and playing BW.
>“For our first entry on the Nintendo Switch, I really wanted to do something more kind of simplified, something that really anyone could enjoy. I think the reason for this is to get more Switches into the hands of younger kids and more casual players, not just players who are really interested in hardcore games or are really gamers first and foremost.”

So it died at Platinum release for you? Because that's when that focus started showing in the games.
Dahlia isn’t black and probably isn’t Indian either

Eurogods are the ones that says she's black, because they're right.

there is literally nothing to dislike about this line, never seen anything as forced as the hate these poor little guys get
There’s no way this quote is actually dated to the release on black and white. What is this quote or paraphrasing actually referring to?
