You go from forest to top of mountains. What do you think?
Can you imagine if you moved from forest to mountain top like you go from Poison area to lava pit in DS2? You homosexuals wouldnt stfu

Wrong. Did you even play the game? Games back then didnt need long animations to load new areas zoomie, thry usrd loading screens.
MGS3 transition is hidden behind the area title youre moving to.

no, that doesnt make sense. See, in Dark Souls 1, time and space is convoluted. So it is perfectly reasonable to think that as you go down the giant hollow tree that you enter into a different universe or dimension.

To be memorable, way more interesting than a cutscene transition or an elevator. Considering how often its remembered and how people associate every longer than average ladder in a game with it after they play MGS 3 you cant argue with the results.

Long most of the slop Kojima puts out: it's 'meta!!!!'
Realistically it was just there because 'haha you must suffer to understand what Snake is going through' It's a struggle, anon. See, at this time period, something something fanboy whacky bees on Ocelot strategy

Does that help you understand, sir? Are you now a Kojima fan?

Naw. I used to make Tomb Raider threads literally ALL the time back before the remaster hype, like i was almost the sole one making and carrying them. I made dozens of essays about the game. But, I'm no longer interested in the topic of it. My style of engagement is too much effort + I've exhausted most of the topics that could go down in those threads. I imagine there's still a LAU circlejerk especially, so if that still exists. Then I'm definitely not coming back.

            i kneel
i can assure you that there is no LAU circlejerk and that your effortposting would be greatly appreciated by just about everybody in the threads because that's mainly what we do in there anyway
we usually just talk about the classics and some angel of darkness (which is mostly just me talking to myself, lol)

i would love to read some of your essays in the threads

yes. Climbing ladders isnt that intense. If you can do squats, you can climb ladders

Those have landings pretty frequently, they don't have to climb hundreds of feet all in one go.

    3 reasons:
It marks the half way point of your journey.
It takes place directly after the fight with The End which is a grueling test of your survival skills and endurance, and the climb acts as a tension reliever after a tiring battle.
It's a reminder of why you're on this mission. When you hear the song in the intro, the lyrics don't have any meaning. But by this point in the game, it's clear that it's from the perspective of The Boss and gives the song a new meaning. You're here to kill her and there's no turning back.

      >tension reliever
I found this part the tensest moment of the game - I was sure some surprise boss was going to appear and knock me off the ladder or something the whole way up.

    Its a hidden loading screen.
You notice how the textures of the game go from a jungle to a rocky mountain and interior...
its because of the blue ray drive it did not have a disc 2 and this is what you got for it.
Seems all MGS games except V have shit memory management

I know its something do with loading because if you die while climbing the ladder or go to the top and hang over the rail and drop to your death, it takes a long time to reload you at the bottom.
