It’s not really a capeshit game though. All of the characters outside of the shark guy are basically just normies. Harley has no powers, Deadshot is just good at being an American, Boomerang has some dollar store speedforce abilities that were retconned into his character, because it turns out being really good at throwing boomerangs is a moronic skill to base a character around and the shark guy is just very strong / durable, which is basic as far as this universe goes. It doesn’t help that all of these characters are complete literal whos, outside of Harley, to the average person that isn’t invested in the slop that is modern comic books. I only saw the first SS movie years ago, but they couldn’t have used that Mexican fire magic guy or the woman sorcerer? Even if they’re also literal whos, at least they have actual powers and abilities.
This is a game where the likes of Superman, the Flash and the Green Lantern all get killed by murderhobos guns. I guarantee it would have been far more salvageable if you played as the justice league, instead of killing them, but that would require RS to make unique gameplay loops instead of the same shit for every character with arbitrary weapon restrictions and some slightly different movement / gunplay mechanics.
Marvel Avengers beat them to the punch and flopped so hard it set all capeshit vidya back. People are amazingly disillusioned with these games and don't just buy them day one.
Also apparently the founders of rocksteady left like a year ago and formed a new company and are poaching all the good talent from rocksteady. Idk why this isn't brought up more, this game is clearly a iceberg and rocksteady is sinking.
