That was not the reason. They cucked N-Vidia by saying they would use their GPU in the 360 but switched to AMD at the last second so N-Vidia stopped making GPUs.

This isn’t true at all. GC versions were often the best looking and had the best performance because it was the most powerful console that generation. All the Xbox versions had was more content sometimes because they were essentially GotY versions of the game ported to it
The GC has games that are over 20 years old that are far better looking and run way better than the games released today.

Skies of Arcadia also suffers from heavy compression especially in audio since they decided to squeeze the whole game onto one disc for whatever reason.
Evolution's first half on the gamecube (ie the first game) is completely butchered and the second half (the second game) is only slightly better

the music is way worse and the graphics are not an upgrade over the Dreamcast either. nintendo being cheap fricks ruined what should have been the definitive version of the game. it's stil arguably better just because of the changes to the encounter rate but it's not a slam dunk where it's a pure upgrade. some content like pinta's quest was removed too.

The proliferation of dolphin and the accessibility of its games has deluded an entire generation into believing it was more powerful than it actually is. There's a reason Dolphin was emulated faster than Dreamcast. GC was the weakest console of its generation.

Xbox and the 360 were great consoles it's a shame to see what's become of them in the modern era, same for Sony, can't believe I only have a nintendo console now. It just feels surreal some times using only that and the PC.

Peter Moore did a good job of getting the 360 lineup to cover just about everything. From Cave shooters to getting GTA and Final Fantasy on there day 1 and getting Japanese exclusives(both weeb games in the US and actual Japanese only exclusives like Idolmaster).
When Moore left, shit was fricked regardless. Mattrick would have chased after TV and sports anyway.

Not always true, but it is the general rule for Xbox. Off the top of my head, multiplats that are better on PS2/Gamecube are:

>Gauntlet Dark Legacy
>Silent Hill 2
The GTA trilogy is another one, but that's debatable. Vice City and San Andreas might be missing the post-processing and textures that the PS2 has, but the Xbox versions run way better and they have a different control layout for vehicles where the pedals are mapped to the triggers, so driving is far better on Xbox. It all depends on what you want from it.

Playstation may be outselling the competition, but Sony has been hemreghing money for years now. It's especially egregious with all these leaks lately showing their insane spending habits on games that aren't even breaking even.
And xbox has never made a red cent which is why Microsoft doesn't divulge the numbers. Sony invests more of their revenue back into the brand but people want to say that means it's less profitable.

the wii is fair it was a cultural phenomenon in its own right, but it being overtaken by the ps3 at the end because dad gamers came back for GTA V and sony shilled the living frick out of last of us doesnt really take away from the experience that was everyone being on xbox live, everyone being on gears, halo and cod4 and pretty much the idea of youtubers as a career coming largely off the back of cod on xbox.
Now im not saying these games are intense works of art or youtubers are a good thing. But the PS3 didnt really have anything like this it just slowly ticked up numbers in the background and the fact that it often surprises people that it sold more is proof of this. If you were at the right age there was something special about the 360 from like 2007 - 2011.

All of the online features that it supported were standardized across all games so it didn't matter who the developer was or what the genre was, if it was a feature of Xbox Live then it was guaranteed to be available. No other console offered such a unified system until the Xbox. Even PC games lacked this, online was spread across various different services and did not always have every feature on offer. Even Steam was still in its infancy, back when it really only had Valve games on it, and it would be years before it could match the scope that Xbox Live encompassed.

Everyone shits on PS3 because "muh cell" and $599. Yeah well so what? The PS3 beat the 360 in every single possible metric. From graphics to audio to even playing Blu Ray discs. It was worth the $599. And don't even get me started on the Xbone

One of my professors was an architect of the cell processor and our course project was essentially based on it. Was a really cool class and project.
The problem was the cell was a dick to program on so any multiplats just didnt make use of it. Bayonetta on the 360 ran better than on the PS3 since they just ported the game and added zero code to make use of the cell processor
SCII was only 4:3 in 720p and 1080i was a poor-mans 720p.
