Stealth games are shite because they only work when its assumed that every single person except the protagonist is mostly deaf, blind, and has the intellect of a toddler that will just assume that muffled screaming and neck cracking sound 5 feet away must just be the wind, and your coworker in the last 5 minutes since you last saw him apparently grew 6 inches taller and got a new haircut. And thats on top of the suspension of disbelief that the drug lords compound / top secret military installation / underground bunker has security as loose as a hooker's butthole.

Some stealth games actually have guards work in pairs or teams where if one of them goes silent for too long they get suspicious and the disguises only work if someone doesn't get too close of a look on you. It's canon to real life that if you put on a mechanic or construction guy suit or a businessman or a police suit and act like you belong, they let you into a lot of places without asking questions.

It actually went wrong in terms of sales and was/is kind of a cult classic, but it was enough that they continued the series. Absolution is what it is but the gameplay and flow of the Hitman trilogy is actually pretty similar to it so the work towards Absolution wasn't for nothing.

So you prefer entering and exiting thru windows in them?

The most recent trend is to claim HBM was the worst in the whole series, i.e. Hitman The Plebs' Dream.

one of the few series where the games gradually got better instead of worse over time (except for absolution obviously)

Not much. The series peaked with Silent Assassin.

Right amount of serious and right amount of humor. Good missions with good vibe. Blood money and contracts are both my favorite.

Blood Money was amazing but Hitman SA2 was the best in terms of music and atmosphere, the missions were endless and diverse, the gameplay was very glitchy though but only with Hitman 2016 SA/SO started to matter because now you can have a record of your accomplishments.

Since Hitman 2016 the series only got worse, you can't even see panties, the female thighs and pussy pants under the skirts aren't rendered at all, it breaks any sorts of immersion. Which is why all I want is the PS4 remasters to come to the PC so I can have a decent UI made for modern monitors and controller support.

    >good level design
    >outfits that essentially let you run free
    >interesting targets with boatloads of options to kill
    >side objectives are generally fitting and add additional challenge
    >perfect weapon selection with upgrades you can swap in and out
    >multiple difficulty options that allow for basically any playstyle
Not to mention there is the whole story that is pretty damn good but also entirely skippable if you don't care or already sat through it. It doesn't have you sitting around doing nothing except in 2 parts that add up to about a minute.

This and the other things really add replayability and are underrated in general.

Blood Money has many things that are still not in the nu-Hitman games, like elevators and the npcs and targets can chase you and shoot you with the guns they pick. If the PC game had controller support I would be playing it right now.

It's interesting they managed to have elevators which npcs could use too in BM but in the trilogy I guess they run into too many problems and it just wasn't worth it. Elevators in BM have the fun thing tho where if the elevator is going down and you push someone in it, they fall dead on the floor because it counts as a fall.

BM also had cool beta concepts such as the notoriety level and newspaper articles + taking human shields. Don't remember if you could use them as human shields in Absolution but it was probably hard to make it not op so they dropped it.

The shields are great because you can knock them with the gun. After all these years WoA is still a gimp Hitman. They need to port the remasters to the PC, why are those games stuck at a dead PS4 platform? It's free money.

Blood Money on Steam still has the V-Sync bug.

In BM it was balanced so that you could have infinite knockouts with human shield but the guy will scream, you could knock them out silently by using the syringes or semi silently by pushing them head first into wall in a bit gimmicky way. In WoA you can kill or knock out anyone in hand to hand combat which makes sense because why wouldn't 47 be able to do so.

Hitman series starting from BM or Contracts just had all the knockouts be permanent for that level. In H2:SA I think they could wake up but in the later games they will be unconscious for infinite amount of time because I guess they didn't want to bother with the guards or civilians waking up and ruining the level dunno.

But I'm not arguing against the system of BM at all. It would have been cool to see them release BM2 with more levels and minor if any tweaks, or some modding scene.

I don't remember them screaming when you human shield them, perhaps it was just a version I played but I remember grabbing people in the same room and no one being alerted unless they saw me.
Also just to add on to what you said people could wake up in BM and I believe also in the later games but only if another person found them and woke them up.

I've used Steam to map it but it would be better if it had native support because rumble is missing.

I'm pretty sure this is the case, I remember using a wireless (wow!) Logitech controller back then, even my low quality no-name wired controller was picked up immediately.
However, I can't say if it has X-Input though, which is the only thing our technology illiterate brothers in Christ recognize as "official controller support".

alright fella at this point you're either trolling or just have no idea what pcgw is.
