No idea. The whole thing felt super undercooked. Compare the amount of content and the variety to arkham knight and its not even close.
I'm finding Arkham City to be a bit of a chore but I'm only a few hours in, maybe I'll enjoy it more when I have more upgrades. How does Arkham Knight compare? Is it better or just more of the same but with better graphics?
Combat feels a bit looser, City definitely has the best combat of the series, but Knight has a lot going for it.
honestly knight is a much better game but i personally hated the forced batmobile sections so much that unless there's a mod to remove the fricking thing entirely i don't see myself touching the game again
Did Arkham Knight continue the trend of unlocking more tools to traverse more of the city over time, or is it more open? Never got around to playing it because of the whole completely-botched PC port (despite the prior two being excellent on PC) that kept me away/lost interest.
Spider-Man had the issue of this large-ass city, and it'd just be a repeat of the same 4 crime types/territory-wave fights with little to no variation.
I would say only asylum really does that, the rest just use gadgets to do puzzles. However, unlike city and origins, knight has parts of the city that unlock through the story

So far I have been enjoying it but with my Ryzen 7 rig it keeps crashing every 20 minutes even after updating drivers I get a display driver crash error and regardless of settings. I'm also getting a warning about my drivers on launch.
Idk how they could do better other than less repetitive tasks to do around the city. Going from main story check point in a linear fashion is actually pretty engaging. The non-spider-man sections are like mud though. Since I love seeing any video game version of NYC, this has been great and I can't wait to see how they expand the city in the 2023 sequel since it's baseline is a PS4 and not a PS4. Technically this game still feels like a PS4 game in scope.

Just finished the last dlc and I'd say the difficulty spike is real second dlc's wave clearing dungeons were hard to the point of being bullshit, to the point that I really needed to use uplift webshooter, I didn't even think of thinking of using it in the main game

Not that anon, but the game is superior to spiderman in everything, from writing to combat and game mechanics. Its biggest problem is that its a carbon copy of city, save the story which is the best in arkham games. One thing spiderman is better though is traversal and costumes

It's true that very few games live up to the loftier standards that games achieved back in the early to mid-2000's when everyone was experimenting with everything. It's a hard pill to swallow that we might never get anything as provocative as SH/2/3 or Ico or what have you ever again.

This kinda felt like they spent years making a really fun and beautiful New York web swinging simulator while the B team made a pretty decent Arkham combat clone, with a story written by 5 people who never talked to each other. The swinging is great, the combat is good enough, but they're not very deep so you gotta rely on the story and set pieces to keep it exciting. I actually really liked the parts that were just Peter doing his own shit. Exploring him being a poor academic goon and Spiderman was infinitely more fun than the absolutely schizo story. That shit seriously felt like it was written in reverse, like they made all the boss fights and indoor set pieces first and then had to tie it together. Lotta frickin padding too. Collectibles out the ass but its fun to go around New York so Ill forgive that. The forced stealth sections were pretty pointless and boring after the first one. Also whoever decided to put snipers in the last half should be frickin demoted. Like imagine taking the most fun and relaxing part of your game, where you can relax after 200 comboing goons, and making it so you are constantly staring at incoming bullet warnings and not the pretty ass city.
I would appreciate if they sped up the swinging animation a bit, it feels a little to slow.

The first mission is on rooftops but you only have 2 webswings so you have to be careful and do different jumps then you enter a bank where you have to stealth your way through and explore to savep eople and pick up health/web/secrets final part has a timer to put the bomb in the vault. second mission is a chase but you have to play it and memorize the layout not to lose there are lots of different jumps and you can only webswing 2 times so jumps matter and are challenging. A later mission like the lizard has you fighting on top of a train you have to go to the front then a lot of puzzles to stop infinite lizards from spawning then the sewer with venom is a maze with puzzles the bosses are more creative too have different mechanics and way of being defeated. Its all different
Now compare that to ps4 spiderman.

This is the only issue I had with the game. You get a ton of gadgets, but outside of a couple tutorial sections, you don't need the majority of them to beat the game on hard, unless you simply just want to rid of certain enemy types quicker.
At least in BamHam you had access to everything on separate button binds so you can weave them all together with ease vs. hitting up the item select wheel mid-combo.
