hardly felt like you were controlling a gundam.
as someone that builds a ton of gunpla, i was actually excited for this one but ended up dropping it after like a week of playing it.
Yeah the game didn't really have any gundam flavor to me.I have no idea why they didn't do shit like use the characters from the different series as announcers or use songs from the actual show.
>hardly felt like you were controlling a gundam.
God you secondaries are so fricking stupid.
Never hear this shit about EXVS and that's even further from "controlling a gundam."
No, he's right. Gundam Evolution didn't have any of the things that make Gundam, aside from the mecha. There's no official BGM, no anime scenes, no pilots or characters, no recognizable locations, no story more. Everything about the game is generic so that people who actually like Gundam but don't really like Overwatch don't have anything to enjoy about the game after the novelty of trying out the mobile suits wears off.
>There's no official BGM, no anime scenes, no pilots or characters, no recognizable locations, no story more
None of that shit has to do with the moronic complaint of "IT DOESN'T FEEL LIKE PILOTING A GUNDAM" that homosexuals like you spew.
Barbatos getting a two button instant kill with the mobility to get in and out with no issue really ruined it for me. That and the absolute snail pace the devs released anything for the game and the extreme monetization they were pushing that made it so f2p had to choose what 2 suits they could buy with the currency they were given.
>two button >instant
pick one. also, what are snipers? there are RANGED insta kills in almost every shooter, with the only counterplay to them being just not existing on their screen. Barbatos is a noob filter.
monetization, loot boxes full of absolute shit, and way-too-grindy battlepasses
nobody wanted to play 100+ matches to unlock a flagship MS like the Unicorn
dogshit balance, with several suits having multiple worthless abilities and others having instant "I win" buttons
no custom servers or split game modes, so the people who wanted to play the objective were stuck with the people who just wanted to play deathmatch
it basically had every problem Overwatch did, but couldn't be propped up by porn or normie appeal
Zaku, Guntank, and Sazabi were fun as frick though
GUNTANK WOOOOO
Gameplay was perfect and everyone who says otherwise is just upset it didn't fit their headcanon.
Proof: initial numbers and visibility.
What went wrong is they went with a GAAS model but forgot about the S part. No new content for months, then hiding it behind a paywall. That doesn't fly. You need weekly content updates or your game dies.
Look at Helldivers 2. It's a fotm but is still selling gangbusters months later because they release new weapons/mission types/strategems/warbonds/enemy types every single week.

I played the CBT for this last week
Was genuinely fun. Gave me a better first impression than Evolution.
Gameplay is too much like Overwatch
Bandai's israeli practices with the battlepass and mobile suits locked behind a currency
Idk if it was like this before it died but if a player leaves the game the team down a player will most likely get stomped since the game won't find another player for them
>releasing 1 week before OW2 >NA only regional lock for 4~5 months after release >heavy monetization within its 1st month >catter to e-sports audience but with no e-sports events set in mind
I don't really mind if the game doesn't really feel like you are in a mobile suit but I am a lot more bothered by the lack of things to scale your suit against to feel like you are huge
I enjoyed it but the monetization was cancer. Premium currency, gacha, battlepass, pay/grindwall units. An unholy union of shitty practices. The swear filter was so horrible it was almost funny. If someone didn't connect at the start of the match the whole match would terminate instead of try to backfill.
Also, like others said, a lack of voice acting, music, locations, etc. from the source material. This ties into lack of support, but not doing any GWitch collabs aside from the bare minimum while it was airing was a big missed opportunity too.
The gameplay was tight. The dodge/sprint resource on everyone was really refreshing. >anorexic suit selection >couldn't stack suits
Were my biggest gripes. I'm reasonably sure I'm not alone in wanting to pilot everything but the main character hero of the series suits. Specifically I love me some monoeye. Luckily, zaku was breddy damn fun. Unluckily, some random frick could click a zaku first and then I'd be shit out of luck.
Minor gripes: >really dumb gacha
GBO2 is also a gundam game with a gacha, and it is basically as perfect as a gacha can get with free pulls you build up daily, generic currency to buy suits, and dupe currency to buy suits. Makes no sense for them to pivot to EVO and its consumer-unfriendly system. >no sense of scale
Running through the game as a 20m war machine shouldn't feel like running through the game as a regular dude in robot cosplay. >balance
My marasai. After all that grinding I spent the currency and got to enjoy him. Janky piece of shit but when it worked it was alright. Then the balance patch comes around and "marasai is not performing outside of expectations at all, but we're nerfing it anyway". I sensed the EoS then and there.
Thank frick for GBO2. It's a piece of shit game with a piece of shit port, but it's got such robust suit selection and serviceable enough gameplay.
it doesn't exist anymore so it doesn't matter
Everything except the core gameplay mechanics, basically.

If you cant appreciate a well designed game because of your robot autism that's on you.

lol why are you so autistically mad? holy shit, hahahaha
No community servers.
The existence of Ultimates.
Can't stack suits.
6v6 instead of 12v12.
No community servers.
No modding support.
>regional block
that for starters.
Overwatch gameplay is bad and was never good.

You're a fricking moron.
>admits to getting BTFO by a melee character in an FPS
>no rebuttal to the fact that it's a two part combo
holy kek you're pathetic
Wow you're extra moronic
>Wow you're extra moronic
Wow you're extra moronic
He's saying the damage it does is an insta kill moron-kun. Not that it's an instant button press double moron-kun.
>the damage it does is an insta kill
Unless you die from it instantly, it's not an instant kill.
Skill issue. Barb was a noob stomper. Easy to deal with a competent team.

gundam gays only play a handful of existing games
I'm so fricking hyped for Breaker 4 Gundambros
what if it's shit, anon
i wish they let the ace combat devs have fun with the gundam license
Let From make another Another Centuries Episode game.
>let them make more licensed shovelware
How about no

I'll second this, it had all the Mecha flavor I could want and felt good to play except for t h a t

Not enough confidence in it, they should have gone all out and released in all regions from the start, more advertising too
I don't really mind if the game doesn't really feel like you are in a mobile suit but I am a lot more bothered by the lack of things to scale your suit against to feel like you are huge
Skins were all overpriced and actually worse then the default skins, so why even spend money on this free game?
Game had nothing to draw in people that would actually spend money on it.
Game itself was actually good.
But God damn it was fun.
Just your typical Bamco mismanagement. Lack of support, shitty monetization, wonky choices for new MS. Also, nerfing Guntank's charge.
Also, like others said, a lack of voice acting, music, locations, etc. from the source material. This ties into lack of support, but not doing any GWitch collabs aside from the bare minimum while it was airing was a big missed opportunity too.
