Thank god this shit sucked and my theory for why 3make is bad is entirely around then wanting to cram dodge into 2make gameplay. All the zombies are infinitely more annoying to fight with higher reflexes and less reaction to gunshots which punishes players who try to play conservatively like the previous game and makes every gun feel worse to use just to justify dodge existing. Combine it with the lack of persistent bodies for 90% of the game and the tentacled guys randomly showing up and leaving for large stretches of the game and it's no wonder 3make feels like ass by comparison. >t. just played both back to back first time
Removing stop and shoot tank controls had a ripple effect where they had to make the game feel like sluggish shit with loads of RNG to not make the game a total joke.
Basically like taking a Souls game and adding DMC air juggles, they took something that was clearly designed to work a specifically way, totally broke it and then tried to patch it up.
They made the garden maze worse and the sewers basically don't exist. That all said, I don't care about everything else that's worse. The remake added more horror and exploration elements to RE4 so I generally think it's superior, simple as.
