It's a game that requires you to think in 3D and use destruction to attack from whatever angle or setup you want, and not only is the modern FPS audience at large incapable of doing that, but they gravitate towards the one class that has little to no destruction capabilities outside of gas canisters.
Not only that, but they're also weirdly obsessed with forcing a meta where there isn't one. There's clear counters to the alleged "best/most consistent weapons" and plenty of situations where they falter, and any good trio can set up to make anything work even when playing the "you can't swap out weapons mid-match" ranked mode, but they're still obsessed with trying to play the game in the most boring way possible.
Modern vidya has rotted their brains, basically, and while the game has some of those trappings (the cash shop is ridiculous), they're so fricked up that they pigeonhole to try to make sense of it. You even see it here with posts like
>ugly >neat gimmick but traversal is kinda AIDS >I didn't care for the loadout system they had idk what the general sentiment is on it >battlepass >gameshow gimmick wears itself thin in like two hours >the destruction is kickass but small squad size and FFA format keep the battles I liked in Bad Company from forming up properly and its just running around like a moron until someone spawns behind you >the game really is just ugly as sin
I was looking forward to it but the destruction mechanics are pretty much all the game has going for it.
Modern fps are just a cheater arms race at this point. The Cronos Zen is constantly sold out because literally every single zoomer pays to cheat. They don't care about being good, they care about likes on social media and getting shout-outs by streamers.
>Teams A B and C fighting frantically for 15mins >Team D does frick all, all match >Team D somehows kills 1 guy and steals the frickin ATM like 2 mins before the game ends >Team D wins
what the frick are you talking about
strategic negotiation is the most fun you can have
if you're in either of the teams that has been doing nothing but fight everyone, you're a moron
the whole point of asymmetric win conditions is to plan your approach carefully
if you're the first in the spot do not engage in the win condition, allow another team to make that mistake and ambush them
if you're an attacking team, do not attack the team guarding the objective, let the other team do it first and intercept them while they're busy with the first
if you're an attacking team and your position is between the guarding one and the third one coming through, do not engage in combat, attempt evasive maneuvers while re-positioning your team for an advantage and THEN engage
the game is and can be very fun, especially with the destructible terrain, I don't know how the current meta is nowadays because I haven't played after the open-beta closing down, but after a while it got really stale, you could literally see how over each passing day, people started getting the hang of what's the best terrain approach to take and then repeat that strategy until we got nothing but heavies or nothing but lights due to people getting bored
Beta-test was frickings great. It was a fresh and good start for a good game (with chances to not be FOTM!).
But on relese they:
1) Added SBMM
2) 50+ games for CALIBRATION
3) Aim-assist af
So, of course, game died
Its pretty fun*
*note: must not have any chinese players in the match, must not be playing ranked since its full of cheaters, must be playing in a full squad with friends, must not have any light classes on youre team
Lights are the funniest class. Half the player base screams that they're OP and needs a rework, and the other half are screaming back saying they're a useless, dead weight of a class and need a rework.
For me? The constant coddling of light players.
Nerfing heavies and buffing lights constantly. NOTHING is allowed to one-tap a light. It doesn't matter how they play. It doesn't matter how they frick up.
The devs have a light-bias and it fricked the balance up from day 1. It was just fricking exhausting.
Literally every 2/3rd was cheating and top player was a Chinese autismo with cheats on that couldn't be touched for some reason and had damage reduction cheats, aimbot and wallhacks.
Imagine tryharding in a game like Finals, go back to CoD or CS or whatever LoL shit you homosexuals play.
It's very much soul , your just never played the game.
I thought and shit posted this shit toountil I played it. The soundtrack is awesome the whole Synthwave vibe is surprisingly soulful.
The artstyle isn't exciting to me. making a game that is obviously a healthy competition between normal people isn't exciting. Battlefield tries so hard to sell the atmosphere of a battlefield and it works, this one is in the complete opposite direction of what Battlefield is trying to do and I don't hate it, it just I don't see any artistic element I can get attached to. Overwatch 2016 had a similar atmosphere but on the hand, the characters had so much personality in them.
its called "the finals" and it looks like that
All modern fps games are dominated by controller players. They nerfed aim assist and it died.
>battle royal / extraction shooter
Nobody actually likes this genre, it's only popular because people think it's popular.
royal / extraction shooter
its neither

Too slow on updates and a single game mode

Just make your own with a RasPi
the game mode sucks. Team objective esports chasing garbage
it would be much better with traditional deathmatch and capture the flag modes
I hate team games
>Teams A B and C fighting frantically for 15mins
>Team D does frick all, all match
>Team D somehows kills 1 guy and steals the frickin ATM like 2 mins before the game ends
>Team D wins
This isnt fun its fricking annoying.

>destructible environment but no environmental damage
What's the point of collapsing skyscrapers on people if it doesn't frick them up?
Ugly aesthetic, mostly. Also constantly nerfing everything doesn't help.

Did it have SBMM in regular modes? I always seemed to find wild differences in skill in most matches.
>Added SBMM
>NOOOOOOOO I CANT STOMP EVERY MATCH I HAVE TO PLAY PEOPLE MY SKILL LEVEL REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
They stopped paying streamers and people instantly started to realise they didn't actually like it. Funny that.
Flavour of the month
Too much AI sloppa to hold a competitive fast pace game.
>use text to speech
>all people will talk about is that
>your game is forever "Too much AI sloppa" by people who will never play it
Nothing
It's the best FPS on the market right now
Normiecattle have been filtered.Again.
Many such cases!
I'm addicted
Its pretty fun*

The half screaming theyre op are the braindead morons that think the game is cod and throw every fricking match
That's why it's funny.

>light-bias
You mean medium-bias. They barely gave them a slap on the wrist.
But lights are beyond useless anon. You shoukd be happy when the other team has a light not contributing anything
esport slop instead of fun
Allowing Chinese cheaters on non-chinese servers.

not enough maps
every new piece of gear is for homosexual lights
melee weapons in a shooter were a mistake
> Got fricked in the ass by scouts baseball bat.
BONK!
The characters are beyond hideous and the entire thing just looks and feels sovless. It's like an AI designed the aesthetic.
It's very much soul , your just never played the game.
I thought and shit posted this shit toountil I played it. The soundtrack is awesome the whole Synthwave vibe is surprisingly soulful.
So very team based, so if you have one moron on your team it's over
>made by former DICE devs
>battlefield fans craving a good game after 2 disappointments in a row
>it wasn't a good game
I played it like 6 times, 6 matches with a fren and that was all. It was the same for most people playing.

that annoying ai voice talking whenever anything happens
