Zoomers don’t even know what this series is. In almost all aspects it is a direct downgrade from og pso2 with little improvements, even the “new graphics” look like they were sharted out by a clown. Many games have an open world so that is not special. The combat is not special either. Story doesn’t even need an explanation since it’s an anime game.

Stamina main match and the class balance was fricking atrocious. They not only nerfed every single class not hero, they buffed hero in the same patch and hero definitely didn't need it.
You have no fricking clue how little some photon arts moved you or running used to be.
And shit like knuckles had a frickton of hitstop for no reason.
because you are not there when it launched lmao, the new class destroyed every fun and challenging content in the game, this update is like introducing dmc gameplay to monster hunter, it completely broke the game at its foundation
This is the only game I've ever known where I know people that unironically look forward to the end of service. Like it's definitely been joked about for a lot of other shitty games but this one it's serious. Even if PSO2 private servers are shitty and dead it's already shitty and dead now, at least you'll be able to play it without downloading NGS.
It's not the case for PSO in my opinion. I think it'll be a while for the tools to develop and for server emulation stuff to be more feature-complete, but I have faith it'll get to a roughly similar state eventually. If you can connect to a server and run the good quests with friends it's already most of the way there, and we're way past that point already. Any private server that isn't run from Haiti is practically guaranteed to be better than Sega by default unless it's run by actual drooling morons that make the content inaccessible. Practically anything is better than starting from scratch on retail right now. Just the fact that a private server release would be enough of an event to get more than 10 people in one place to run a single quest a single time would be better than how it is right now.

That's like Blizzard forcing you to install Diablo 4 and play through an act if you want to play Diablo 3, even if you already own it.
