I'd love to see sakurai direct one more kirby game before he retires. The new entries have been pretty good but they don't have the immense amount of soul of the GB-SNES era
It’s definitely gonna be more awkward if sakurai tries skimping out on modern kirby again next time since forgotten land has outsold kirby’s dreamland, the best selling kirby game before forgotten land was a thing, star allies is also looking to beat kirby’s dreamland so that means kirby’s dreamland will have gone from the best selling to 3rd best selling game in the series since the start of the switch era

Sakurai's work is on the bottom. If I was a dev who had sequels made by entirely different people, I'd feel weird using characters that mean nothing to me or aren't owned by me.
sakurai hates adding things from kirby games he didnt make like honestly the fricking battle royale title theme instead of anything from triple deluxe or planet robobot come fricking on dude dirty and beauty is one of the best boss themes or faded flower which is just the same theme but you skip to the good part only spin off theme i would want is dark crafters theme yes the final boss sucks yes but the theme is amazing

Sakurai doesn't like to over-represent his own stuff since Kirby was top tier in 64 and the general reaction to Dark Pit in 4
Also those three games on the bottom were the only Kirby games Sakurai worked on besides Air Ride

Like most Donkey Kong stages being "jungles", people might be overthinking it
is odd how DK 64 has a cutscene final smash but they couldn't be assed to make a stage out of those assets
