I loved ark of napishtim. My favourite entry aside from Lacrimosa of Dana. I also found out there is a ys ark of napishtime mobile mmo, so it must have been one of the more popular ones.

The sword dash attack jump being tied to a bullshit input is the biggest flaw in the game.
Whoever thought needing to preform an arcane ritual for a basic movement tool was a good idea is a moron.
The endgame grind on Nightmare Catastrophe for the optional secret superboss. Steamrolling the last three fights was pretty funny though. Also being underleveled and trapped on that ship with the frog boss with his slippery floor and brap clouds. Never again. Still a comfy game, just not as good as Oath or Origin.
It's grindy and there's an absolutely massive difference in damage dealt & received between each level, so if you only kill each enemy once you'll be underlevelled for most boss fights.
First game on that engine, as result it is absolutely awful hit detection, horrible level curve and majority of the enemies designed like you are still playing bump combat game, dealing damage only on contact. One of the worse Ys games, still not completely terrible as long as you don't play it on Nightmare.
